### "Your Asset Management Solution"

September 30, 2024

4.0

Feature to define custom metadata fields fits our needs most appropriately. Elevate our digital asset management game with Bynder. Harness the power of its advanced features and experience the difference it makes for our organization.

Pros

Safeguard the important digital resources with the help of the highly effective security system offered by Bynder. Rely on Bynder to safeguard your assets and offer an assurance that your valuable content is safe with us.

Cons

It should be noted that in the asset comparison tool, there is no ability to view two files side by side. Here there is a drawback of video editing: it is rather restrictive, and where major changes have to be made, they have to be done outside the platform.

Switched from

This transition came about to beef up the files for those who work remotely as well as increase clarity of the different versions. In the past, we had not employed the right kind of features that are now required today in a working environment with employees who work remotely.

### "Great Asset Management"

May 1, 2025

5.0

A very clean organizational space for asset management that integrates well with our content management systems.

Pros

It offers great organization through tagging and categorizing, allowing for easy searching without the over-complication of folders and sub-folders.

Cons

Occasionally it will freeze while uploading large volumes of files - forcing the user to refresh the page and redo everything. This can be frustrating when working with large amounts of files.

Airship / Mediafly's value was not worth the cost. Bynder's ability to integrate with our PIM and ContentStack + tag-based categorization (versus Mediafly's folders) worked better for my team.

### "Bynder review "

June 10, 2026

4.0

Pros

Bynder is excellent, user-friendly software for sharing and managing assets—such as documents, photos, and videos—by centralizing them in one place without any hassle; it also offers a wide range of logos and great color options for customization.

Cons

Bynder is quite expensive; it really isn't suited to small businesses or freelancers. Searches can sometimes be slow.

### "Bynder good but not great"

January 3, 2025

3.0

Very mid experience. We transitioned from WebDAM and most preferred if we could have stayed. The team at Bynder did not help us with the transition very well and ultimately it took a full year to get the DAM transferred. They cut us off of API access a week before our contract expired and tried to sell special services to get us to transfer files out. Fortunately we had already completed the transfer to our new DAM by then.

Pros

API was nice. Product technically was a DAM.

Cons

User experience was poor. Users really hated the flat structure of the database, they preferred working in folders. Finding resources using the metadata available wasn't great either. Their search engine failed us and was quirky.

Switched from

[Webdam](https://www.capterra.com/p/81755/Webdam/)

Bynder purchased WebDAM and sold us on the product claiming it would be better, easier and cheaper. All false.

### "I like Bynder"

March 14, 2026

5.0

I am extremely happy not to have to deal with the old hard drives sitting at my desk taking up valuable space. We were storing documents and things on google drive and slack before we started using the portal, but now almost everything is in the portal. Therefore, I am rarely being asked for logos or other types of files on a daily basis (at least not most days). I can link multiple languages of pdfs together, therefore I will never lose the french version in the folder system. It just takes less stress out of my workday.

Pros

Facial recognition works amazingly well when finding people, which I didn't think would be possible. I also love that if I am having issues, I can contact staff via email and they won't send me off to those auto-links that are always popping up.

Cons

Every single time you update your software, you charge for it. Also, when I search for something specific (ie- a red backpack) the AI option is absolutely terrible.

### "Bynder is our digital assets' authoritative database"

October 31, 2022

5.0

Bynder acts as a central repository for all of our digital assets, making it easier for everyone in the organization and our external partners to access the most up-to-date and accurate versions without wasting time searching for them or second-guessing whether or not they are viewing the most recent revisions. It establishes a system that can be used across all divisions and which can be relied upon to give up-to-date and comprehensive data on our digital holdings.

Pros

Bynder is used all over our company. Bynder has been an extremely flexible option for us to better manage the distribution and use of all of our digital assets. Inefficient time and effort is wasted trying to locate needed digital files that have been dispersed among multiple computers, shared folders, and emails.

Cons

There's no way to keep tabs on which files are being transferred, downloaded, etc. It was difficult to locate assets without knowing precisely where they were stored. To use several filters based on a single metaproperty. Minimization of computerized categorization.

Switched from

[Brandfolder](https://www.capterra.com/p/133103/Brandfolder/)

Many of our homes have many, regularly updated renderings. Given that the most up-to-date rendering was spread among several offices and individuals, keeping track of it may be a challenge. Creating a central area where we can change renderings without adding a new file and re-uploading eliminated questions about rendering accuracy.

### "Bynder is very user-friendly and configurable"

June 14, 2022

4.0

Our sales and marketing digital asset management system and our graphics digital asset management system needed to be integrated. We required an easy-to-use and easy-to-manage solution. Bynder gives you access to everything.

Pros

It was made clear by the Onboarding Manager exactly what needed to be done and when. They gave us with tools to evaluate and spreadsheets to help us verify the platform's suitability for our purposes. The weekly sessions were fruitful, and the "homework" tasks were manageable. The database is well-built, but it also allows for a great deal of customization.

Cons

Metaproperties and permissions may have benefited from a bit more description of how they're used, especially how they're connected. Things didn't exactly go according to plan, so we had to go back a few times and reorganize.

### "Intuitive and easy of use"

November 9, 2021

4.0

Overall, I really like the way it's setup, and the flexibility you have to customize the product for your brand. We've done away with network folders, we've made more people self sufficient. We now know what assets we have. Duplications are pretty non existent. Got rid of allot of manual work on websites; cropping images, replacing documents etc.

Pros

I like the lack of folder structure, this combined with a good taxonomy, you'll find what you need in seconds.

Cons

Integrations and flexibility with CMS, but it's getting better. The stability and lack of customization of the Analytics. The rest are just some small issues.

Reason for choosing Bynder

Native company, which makes communications easy. Was a startup at the time. The way they setup the portal was different from many other DAM systems, that still relied on folder structures.

### "Centralized and efficient"

April 13, 2026

4.0

What is essential for me with Bynder is the fact that it centralizes and efficiently organizes creative content

Pros

The platform makes it easy to store and share files between teams. Asset management is structured and allows you to quickly find visuals or content related to different artists.

Cons

The cost can be high depending on the needs for each product, and it is normal since each feature has a price to pay

### "Would recommend despite complaints"

January 2, 2025

5.0

Pros

Bynder offers a user-friendly interface and centralized asset management, making it easy for teams to store, organize, and access digital content. It enhances collaboration with tools like annotations, approval workflows, and version control while ensuring brand consistency through customizable templates and portals. Its cloud-based accessibility and integrations with platforms like Adobe Creative Suite and Salesforce further streamline creative and marketing workflows.

Cons

Bynder can be costly, especially for smaller businesses, and advanced features come with a steep learning curve. Initial setup and customization can be time-consuming, and the platform may experience performance issues when handling large asset libraries. Additionally, its offline capabilities are limited, and some features, like search functionality and reporting customization, could use improvement.

### "Straightforward and Organized Remote Working and Business Integration Tool"

February 21, 2023

4.0

Our whole marketing, social, and graphics teams can seamlessly exchange these files thanks to Bynder, which also helps us manage our photo library and other assets. Sharing your documents with outside services can feel less secure when you work with a platform like Microsoft. We get an additional degree of security from Bynder. We can be sure we are always working with final assets thanks to Bynder.

Pros

The taxonomy system and the dashboard page really amazed me because Bynder has basically thought of everything. The derivatives feature of Bynder is something else I adore; it takes SUCH a massive burden off my shoulders that the system can automatically crop socially ready assets for me. Without the requirement for a VPN connection, all employees may discover work and have immediate access to our resources. Our productivity and file management both significantly enhance thanks to Bynder. Although setting up a DAM system can be frightening, the Bynder team has a great process that lets us do it quickly and without much difficulty.

Cons

I wish I had had more time to spend during onboarding on a few modules. Although Taxonomy is really important, we spent a lot of time discussing it, therefore I wish we had spent a bit more time discussing some of the other elements. I want to Bynder had some organisational system to more closely resemble how each of us uses our PCs, hard discs, etc. I would like to see more pre-built API connectors and less expensive Adobe plug-ins. Another benefit would be facial recognition.

### "Our experience with Bynder"

July 27, 2023

5.0

The aim was to have an overarching online solution where we can collect all of our assts. The quick access and the user-friendliness of the interface are an advantage here. Bynder is easy to understand, making it the ideal solution for the whole company to access media. We were particularly impressed by the onboarding process with \[sensitive content hidden\] Initially we had difficulties with the taxonomy. Both of them supported us in every point and stood by our side competently. Thanks for that from the whole team!

Pros

Bynder is easy to use and easy understand. For me as a designer, the connection to the Adobe programs is of great advantage.

Cons

Sometimes the change to the taxonomy is difficult to implement if you haven't dealt with it that much.

### "Excellent Asset Manager"

January 10, 2019

5.0

Pros

The browser intergration is smooth and easy to use, allowing drag and drop and other useful features. The custom API abilities are very nice too.

Cons

Lacks a few key features you would expect to present in any DAM like cut and paste of assets, searchability of folder names, a trash can. The biggest downside to me is that if a feature is not working properly, like default sort order not saving for half our users, the solution has to be voted on to be determined important enough to be worked on. This can leave major functionality missing and features not working while you wait for months if not years for a possible fix that's not even guaranteed.

### "Built For Sucess"

March 29, 2017

5.0

Bynder is a great tool - since it is built to your specific needs, there is a lot of thought that goes into the up front to ensure it's success and user-friendly. Bynder's DAM module empowers our marketers to be able to find things on their own, see the brand guidelines, and know what is already "brand approved" in one place. By having featured collections, we can present new and interesting materials that others may not know about in an easy to find way that gets the new assets in our stakeholders hands more quickly than ever before. Bynder's Workflow module is intuitive and easy it is for our stakeholders and legal teams to review, annotate and provide feedback in a timely manner to our creative team. It has greatly improved our communication and efficiency working on projects.

Pros

With one central location for people to find files, guidelines, images and inquire about projects, we are much more efficient in providing people what they need, and ensuring brand compliance. Having Collections and the file send feature is extremely helpful. We also use workflfow, so Bynder collectively allows us to be nimble in our creative development and asset management.

Cons

I wish the workflow tool integrated better with the DAM.

### "Intuitive system -works great."

July 12, 2018

5.0

It's much easier for sales reps to find the content they need, rather than asking me for files multiple times per day. I love that you don't have to slog through folders - you can mix and match tags/filters to find exactly what you want in very little time. It's also been great to have public links to the files (if desired) to send them out to people outside of the company, like prospects. Way, way better than Dropbox... there's also rudimentary tracking features which could be improved but already have come a long way in the 2 years we've had the system.

Pros

It is very easy to find what you need, and it's really easy to train new employees on it - I basically tell them it's like searching on Amazon. It's a huge upgrade from the folder-based system we were using before (Dropbox). I really like that if an asset needs to be updated, you only have to upload the new version to one place. Our client service rep is also wonderful.

Cons

It was a slog to get the system fully implemented. I suppose that's the case with any digital asset management system, though. It is also pretty expensive for what seems like relatively simple software.

### "WebDAM - A Bynder Product"

January 10, 2019

4.0

Having been a WebDAM user for the past 5+ years, we have really relied on the software for all of our digital asset needs for our marketing department and for the entire organization.

Pros

We were early adopters to onboard WebDAM and the solution has met our need. It allows us to organize, tag, download, save lightboxes for projects, search, expire old photos with ease. The pricing is aligned with their competitors so it's a competitive software solution for anyone to explore!

Cons

For us, they are only minor - being able to embed metadata within the photo through WebDAM and integrated plug-ins for Adobe CC. Not a deal breaker but certainly would help!

### "Good product, could be even better"

December 16, 2011

3.0

We are generally happy with the product solution and feel it is better than the other ones we evaluated during the review phase. When customers make feature suggestions you should try to find out what scenario is taking place that makes these ideas so needed. Understanding your customers' workflows can be quite revealing.

Pros

It's very important for us for our end-users to find the database easy to use, as our potential audience is around 80,000. For the most part, users seem to find WebDAM easy to use. Administering, uploading photos and making simple changes are fairly easy to handle, although there are some situations where we do need help from WebDAM to figure out. The emails and blog are helpful for users to get to know the product better.

Cons

\- The single biggest feature problem that affects users, is that we aren't able to custom edit the email that goes out to users after they register. We aren't able to tell them their account will be not activated immediately -- and when you're in the business of providing assets, customers are generally in a panicked state of needing them. - We had a lot of trouble setting up permissions for different groups to view or not view folders that required extended tech support with WebDAM. Because the process of doing this is not intuitive, it is hard to share this information with other administrators here. - I would say that none of the feature suggestions we've send along have yet been implemented. So I do wonder what better, more important features other users of your product are sending that catch your eye.

### "Good product that met our needs for a while"

December 17, 2018

4.0

It solved a lot of problems and was a great first step. Eventually we moved to a more sales-enablement focused platform that accomplished digital asset management plus sales enablement all integrated with Salesforce. But the marketing team was very happy with Bynder.

Pros

Easy to manage and tag assets; version control of all assets; easy to share assets out with internal stakeholders, clients and prospects using collections.

Cons

Until the end, we heard complaints from sales that it was too hard to find things. Too many results would come up and in no particular priority order.

### "Solutions Architect"

September 11, 2013

WebDAM has some great new features that they have begun to offer and it appears the product is going in the right direction. Here are some suggests for improvement: The user interface should be more dynamic and have more options for branding. Perhaps offering different branding options and templates, or page layouts. It would be nice to see some integration with WebDAM with other portal environments. I would love to embed the webdam library inside of our SharePoint Intranet environment. This should appear seamless to the end user. Also, providing integration with 3rd party security authorities, directory services like LDAP and AD should be on the road map as well. Also an ability to verify a registered user is human i.e. captcha would alleviate some the burden on us to verify the legitimacy of a user request. While the Admin interface is getting better, there are still bugs with different browsers. Overall WebDAM is on the right track we are intrigued to see where the company goes in the next year.

The last release has a built in CMS editor that you can use to create and customize new pages in your WebDAM. We have a REST API that will allow you to integrate with any other business applications your organization uses. Many other WebDAM customers currently utilize our LDAP integration. ### "Very Intuitive!"

December 17, 2018

We have added 6500 assets in a short time span, and it's easy to organize and add attributes for all of them.

Pros

The Bynder DAM is so intuitive and easy to set up. It has been easy to get everyone on board, and I already recommended it to my previous company as well. It works like many e-commerce sites with the menu system and takes almost no training time to get started.

Cons

There are some little things, like how I can't approve more than 20 assets at a time or not being able to add a description upon import, but those are things I can deal with.

### "WebDAM for Root Capital"

December 21, 2011

WebDAM has been extremely effective in cataloging our vast library of images and even more effective in terms of the ease with which we can extract those images and the data associated with them such as names, dates, locations, industries etc which we use a lot in our storytelling function. The customer service has been nothing less than fantastic. So thank you for this highly recommendable product!

Pros

WebDAM has greatly increased the ease with which we catalog and use images associated with our work in many ways - Vast storage space which reduces the need for filtration of images - Well organized folder system with activation options - Metadata allows us to catalog information along with every image for story development purposes - Different download sizes for web or print purposes - Lightbox system allows us to share images easily for internal and external purposes. - WebDAM's versatility also allows us to store design files and collateral files for downloading by staff members. - AMAZING customer service! Prompt responses on service calls and high quality and regularly scheduled webinars.

Cons

The only con I think of with the current version of the software (that we purchased) is that it does not have an inbuilt media player to play video files. I have been informed that this is something that can be incorporated into the package.
