It is the best emr I have ever worked with Pros It allows me to address patient concerns, chart and chat with co workers, there is built in support systems, different levels of affordability. You can customize things to your liking. It has built in biling. Cons It can be overwhelming with all of the clicks and all of the access points for the same needs. During the first year, there were many physicians who resigned from the hospital because they weren't willing to give the program time, however most other employees really liked Epic after getting used to it. Pros Using an electronic medical record program helped a lot with losing patient charts and other information, along with ease of documentation Cons The thing(s) I disliked about Epic was how hard it could be sometimes to find information on your patient, but mostly that the program would "go down" multiple times every week until all (or most) of the kinks were worked out. The way the patient's chart is organized is extremely efficient. Pros Epic is extremely efficient and easy to use. I am able to navigate it easily when searching for things that I need as far as patient charting goes. Cons I do not like how difficult it is to get to patient's information, I understand it is for security reasons, but I wish there was a quicker way to search for a patient and pull up the patient in a faster manner. Cons No negatives from my end, sometimes I would find the process of logging in a little delayed since it would always sends codes to your phone, it feels secure but double process. Pros Epic is an EMR company usually for hospital providers in a large corporation, we like because is easy to use and performs stream searches for medical providers. It cuts down on Medical Record Requests via fax, which can often times prevent healthcare while waiting for faxes. Pros The ease of finding patient information all in one place. I work in home health, and it helps us complete required face to face documentation and allows us to find correct dates and diagnosis on any hospitalized patients. I am a detail oriented person and I enjoy the extent of coverage Epic provides. The learning curve can be steep and confusing to begin with for the same reason. The new addition of AI assistant is a very nice feature and helpful. Pros It is a widely adopted EHR system across many healthcare organizations within USA, so exchanging data becomes a little easier. Cons There is a lot going on in the Epic MyChart system. The learning curve can feel a bit steep and overwhelming in the beginning, until you get a hang of it in couple of months.
