Teacher Education Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Epic Review" May 8, 2026 5.0 I used to be an Epic Trainer when I worked in healthcare and found the software to be a huge asset to the medical community. Pros Ease of use, patient communication, customization. I like that all my health info is consolidated into one platfrom. Cons The constant reminders about test I need. I had no issues with it but did come with a large learning curve. Pros This was for a large hospital practice and it absolutely served large massive customer bases. We were able to do cloud hosting, it was used with Epic Practice Management super easy, and had no issues with EMR charts. Cons Very expensive because it is used in such a large capacity. Although I have used worse (Cerbo), I have used better (Elation). I wouldn't choose it if given the choice. Pros Neutral colors. Smart phrases that the user creates make for great shortcuts. I feel that it has been easy to pick up and really organized. I am able to get my documentation done and I feel good about it. Pros I love that Epic is easy to understand - I was able to pick it up really quickly and everything made sense. I love that it is easy to communicate with others and do quick documentation. The dot phrases are amazing. Cons It would be nice if there were maybe specific versions for easy profession maybe. I am not sure if that is possible, but there were a lot of things that didn't apply to me that just confuses the screen and makes it more busy. I would recommend providers and health systems to use. Pros The system is easy to use and honors patient privacy and confidentially. Also captures information of patients easily Cons Nothing to dislike about Epic. Epic intuitive and pretty straightforward. Not sure however if Epic has an AI function and is ready for the future. Out of the box, it is excellent, however becomes even more powerful as you continue to customize to your needs. Cons It can only be directly purchased if you are meet the minimums. The software helps eliminate gaps in preventative care and keeps track of information including immunizations and other pertinent information. Pros With epic our clients can receive the medical care they deserve at home because epic supports home based workflows, allowing us to run the software on a laptop or ipad. Without EPIC I would not be able to do my job effectively. Pros You can do a deep dive of someone's medical history and see the bigger picture of what might be going on with someone's health by reviewing provider documentations and collaborating with the care team. Cons There are so many things in EPIC that I am unfamiliar with because I only use certain features. It's not always easy to find things if you don't use them all the time. Review Source GM Geena M. Pros I have used several versions of EPIC, and I feel the layout is weel thought out and organized. The system is user friendly as I have trained employees on the system, and they catch on fast. I would recommend Epic as the pros definitely out weigh the cons. Pros The thing that I liked most was the ease of having the patients full chart at my finger tips and the ease of sending records. Cons wish there was a laymans version for those of us that dont need everything. It makes for steamlined and easy referencing of information. Very modernized and user friendly compared to other outdated medical record platforms. Pros Epic is extremely user friendly, allowing all medical records to be accessed on one place, in a format that is easy to read. I am using it everyday for my job, and it's been a great experience this last month Pros How easy it is to work. I started using EPIC a month ago, and was able to pick up on it very fast.
