Other platforms feel inundated by ads and they can really disrupt the experience of, for example, watching training videos. With Vimeo, ads are a non-issue. When creating personalised videos for clients we've needed a hub, where these videos can be stored and viewed effortlessly. Vimeo has provided this for us. Pros Uploading and editing videos on Vimeo is straightforward to do. Videos created outside of Vimeo are displayed in the same high resolution they was created in. They can also be embedded on our website effortlessly in a HD version that we wanted. Cons The pricing is the main concern for Vimeo. I use it weekly to upload and store video files for my institution. It is a great platform to share videos with others. Pros What I like most about vimeo is the easy to use platform that stores and organizes videos. It is a great tool to use to upload videos and even minor editing. I also like the different privacy settings available. Cons I least like how long vimeo takes to upload. I have large video files that take a long time to upload to the page. It's a very simple process to upload and save videos. It's also a breeze to find and copy the embed code for videos. All Vimeo video embeds works great into our CMS as well. Pros The easy-to-use video editing tools. I had a to make a bunch of training videos for the CMS we use at our company, and being able to go back and easily edit the videos was a big help. The final videos were much smoother with the edits I was able to do. Cons The Vimeo Record tool. While this is a really handy tool to record your screen, and works most of the time without any issue, I've experienced issues with it freezing up. That gets frustrating when you're minutes into a recording and have to re-do it. Cons I liked Vimeo overall, but what I appreciated least was its pricing structure and limited flexibility at lower tiers. Additionally, the interface, while clean, can sometimes feel less intuitive for quick tasks compared to competitors. Pros A valid solution for Video Hosting, when you need to manage access, catalog and protection features. It has recently been integrated with video edit features (Vimeo Records) and automation via A.i. (like auto-subtitles) and it has some anti-download protection Cons Its costs may raise very fast with storage and some extra (but fundamental) features that differentiate it from other free competitors.
