The pricing tiers make sense and the product works as advertised. Cons We did have an instance where the credit card expired and our videos were deleted. Pros Ich bin zahlende Vimeo-Nutzerin mit dem Pro-Plan und war bisher zufrieden – aber was ich aktuell erlebe, ist enttäuschend und geschäftsschädigend. Seit zwei Wochen warte ich auf eine funktionierende Lösung: Ich möchte meinen Film wie gewohnt per kostenlosem Promocode an Kund:innen in der Schweiz und in Deutschland senden, doch die Funktion versagt. Stattdessen sind meine Filme verschwunden oder nur noch gegen Bezahlung für meine Klienten sichtbar. Obwohl mir vom Support mehrfach Hilfe zugesagt wurde, funktioniert bis heute nichts. Rückmeldungen bleiben aus oder führen ins Leere. Für mich als professionelle Filmschaffende ist das schlicht nicht tragbar – mein Vertrauen in Vimeo ist schwer erschüttert Cons Meine Filme finde ich nicht mehr auf meiner Seite. Cons For a small business, there were too many features and it became complicated to use, select settings and do what I wanted to do. It it also too expensive for what I need. Sharing works well, and embedding in sites or forms is smooth Cons But the free plan feels too limited too quick. Just two videos? Might as well say it’s not free at all. Overall, it is an excellent app. Cons From what I understand, the weekly upload space is quite limited for the free plan, requiring you to pay for a plan to use more advanced features. Pros I love the ease of making videos and saving content. It has so many options to plug into an already made design or you can start from scratch and make your own. Android app. Cons The website is rather slow in the past 1-2 years. Folder management could definitely be better. No feasible way to export/create a complete list of my videos except request directly from customer support. There is no method to cancel online, despite directions on their website which tell you where to go. There is no customer support phone number. There is no live chat option. The phone number \[sensitive content hidden\] popped up for the bank when cutting off their charge on my credit card. Dialing that, I was still unable to connect with anyone as I do not have a "pin" number, so was unable to advance past the automated introduction. Don't waste your time with Vimeo. In that time streaming has steadily improved too. A decade ago the platform sometimes had buffering issues whereas YouTube did not. Now they are both the best performing mainstream platforms for video hosting. Their own slices of the market and audience types remain the same, with vimeo being the preferred platform for higher end video content, professionally produced videos and Indie documentary. It's still the best option for industry professionals (not content creators) who want to showcase their work. Pros User interface is as clean as ever. Uploads are fast and so is streaming. Cons Tinkering with the UI when it's already solid can lead to confusion as to how to use some features of the platform. Pros Vimeo is easy to use and convenient for businesses that need somewhere to house video assets without looking to generate traffic. Cons The only downside I can think of with Vimeo is that sharing links externally can be tricky. Whenever a video is finished uploading, the share button will not work when sending out in a newsletter, Teams, etc. the video id needs to be added to the end of a separate url.
