### "Joe Normandin's Vimeo review"

May 2, 2026

4.0

I've had a great experience with Vimeo, if it wasn't for the issues I've experienced with Vimeo Record, I would give it 5 stars. It's a very simple process to upload and save videos. It's also a breeze to find and copy the embed code for videos. All Vimeo video embeds works great into our CMS as well.

Pros

The easy-to-use video editing tools. I had a to make a bunch of training videos for the CMS we use at our company, and being able to go back and easily edit the videos was a big help. The final videos were much smoother with the edits I was able to do.

Cons

The Vimeo Record tool. While this is a really handy tool to record your screen, and works most of the time without any issue, I've experienced issues with it freezing up. That gets frustrating when you're minutes into a recording and have to re-do it.

### "Fully featured, flexible solution for streaming and sharing video"

April 25, 2025

5.0

Overall Vimeo beats YouTube or other platforms for our use case. We needed somewhere to store video for internal online learning for colleagues, for customer how-to guides on our website, as a repository of social media video content and to livestream (plus automatically create a recorded library for "catch up" viewing) 25 fitness classes every week. With 7TB of storage we haven't run out yet and we've been using it for over 4 years.

Pros

It works as a media library for all our video content, a basic editor in which we can piece together our own clips with stock footage, a way to stream video to multiple platforms simultaneously (e.g. Facebook and an embed on our website) and Vimeo Livestream (a software production switcher and encoder) is all bundled for one annual licence fee.

Cons

Managing very large numbers of videos is a bit difficult as only a limited number show on a page at any one time and it takes a few seconds to load the the next 25 in long lists.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing Vimeo

To be free of ads for viewers and not have them led to other videos at the end of watching one of ours was vital.

### "Vimeo sits where YouTube can't: offer a tailored option for dedicated video hosting. But keep an eye on its costs/features ratio."

February 9, 2026

3.0

Overall it was a good solution for starting out with our own video hosting, but the more we thought about scaling the less savvy option it becomes.

Pros

A valid solution for Video Hosting, when you need to manage access, catalog and protection features. It has recently been integrated with video edit features (Vimeo Records) and automation via A.i. (like auto-subtitles) and it has some anti-download protection

Cons

Its costs may raise very fast with storage and some extra (but fundamental) features that differentiate it from other free competitors. Also DRM protection is only included in the enterprise plan, with has no public price

### "A great home for all engaging videos"

May 12, 2026

5.0

Vimeo has been essential to our business. When creating personalised videos for clients we've needed a hub, where these videos can be stored and viewed effortlessly. Vimeo has provided this for us.

Pros

Uploading and editing videos on Vimeo is straightforward to do. Videos created outside of Vimeo are displayed in the same high resolution they was created in. They can also be embedded on our website effortlessly in a HD version that we wanted.

Cons

The pricing is the main concern for Vimeo. For small creative businesses i can see this platform being unaffordable

### "Vimeo Is Easy and Works"

November 11, 2025

Pros

Venmo is easy to use and quick to setup. The pricing tiers make sense and the product works as advertised.

Cons

We did have an instance where the credit card expired and our videos were deleted. We contacted support and had them brought back but that was downtime that was experienced.

### "Not the best, but fine for what it is"

April 13, 2025

3.0

My overall experience with Vimeo was average, hence I did not ultimately choose to go with it.

Pros

I liked that Vimeo was yet another competitor to its bigger brands, and has slightly more features than its competitors, and a greater community behind it.

Cons

It is still not the best compared to bigger brands, and the community was still lacking in comparison.

### "vimeo review"

March 17, 2026

4.0

Pros

What I liked most about Vimeo is its clean, ad-free viewing experience and the overall focus on high-quality content. The platform feels more curated compared to others, which makes it easier to discover professional and creative work. I also appreciate the customization options for video players and the strong privacy controls, which are especially useful when sharing content selectively.

Cons

I liked Vimeo overall, but what I appreciated least was its pricing structure and limited flexibility at lower tiers. Many essential features feel locked behind higher-priced plans, which makes it harder to fully explore the platform without committing financially. Additionally, the interface, while clean, can sometimes feel less intuitive for quick tasks compared to competitors. These factors can slow down workflow and limit accessibility, especially for creators just starting out. Improving affordability and streamlining usability would make Vimeo far more appealing, allowing users to focus on creativity rather than constraints and ultimately unlocking its full potential for a wider audience.

Overall, I Vimeo has been very beneficial to me. I use it weekly to upload and store video files for my institution. It is a great platform to share videos with others.

Pros

What I like most about vimeo is the easy to use platform that stores and organizes videos. It is a great tool to use to upload videos and even minor editing. I also like the different privacy settings available.

Cons

I least like how long vimeo takes to upload. I have large video files that take a long time to upload to the page.

### "Pretty good for some purposes, not so much for others"

January 11, 2026

3.0

Pros

Very useful for sharing and viewing unlisted projects. It also somehow hosts very obscure content that cannot be accessed on other platforms.

Cons

The algorithm is not very personalized. Recommended videos are often not interesting, or just showing videos posted by recently, viewed accounts even if that video is unrelated to what was viewed.

### "Enterprise-worthy video marketing, analytics and privacy tool."

August 13, 2024

5.0

High quality video experience. Basically recording screen, sharing thoughts and getting things done faster with async video.

Pros

Vimeo makes it easier to manage and organize video content effectively, saving time and effort. We can showcase our services easily to generate more leads and increase customer engagement. We have experienced an improvement in SEO through optimization of video content in video hosting. It is user-friendly and cost-effective too making it an ideal solution for us.

Cons

The platform may not be very suitable for users that exclusively rely on video content for revenue generation as it may be hard to monetize them on this platform.

### "Great business solution for hosting agency videos and for distributing them internally and with clients"

August 9, 2024

5.0

Pros

I love to be able to see all the projects and shorts the extended team in my agency is working on. I also like the ability to download videos from the tool or lock videos so that they are only available in view mode and can't be downloaded. Great collaboration and storage tool overall!

Cons

Beyond the basic hosting capabilities, I think it lacks key features that would appeal to creative directors and producers within my agency, like having more bandwidth available under specific paid plans or the ability to have more custom CTAs

### "Easy to distribute my videos to my clients and managing team folders"

May 15, 2024

5.0

Quality videos and marketing strategies creating a more connected and productive team in the long run.

Pros

I can easily engage several teams on the platform and I have the freedom to switch between them. No worries of background disturbances, videos can be mute to avoid them. Also, it brings stability in performance and our overall goal. Creates beautiful presentations which came be customized to make them more appealing. In the case where files in question are too large or contain parts which are not relevant, trimming is possible. This improves efficiency in the final results. It is generally a very easy to use tool.

Cons

Well, no cons experienced so far. Work is always done to expectations.

### "A Personalised and In-Depth Look at Vimeo"

January 28, 2023

5.0

Overall, I've had a great experience with Vimeo. It's user-friendly, has great video quality, and has plenty of features to satisfy most users. The only downside is the pricing, but if you're willing to pay for the features, it's definitely worth it.

Pros

Vimeo has been my go-to video hosting platform for years now. The user interface is incredibly easy to use, and it has a variety of features that help me customize my videos. The upload speeds are also lightning fast, and I never have to worry about buffering or lag. On top of that, the video quality is always top-notch and I'm able to easily share my videos with friends and family.

Cons

Although Vimeo is great for hosting videos, one area it falls short on is its pricing. The free version is limited in features, and the paid plans can get quite expensive. However, Vimeo does offer discounts for annual plans, so if you're looking for a long-term solution, this might be the way to go.

What really sets Vimeo apart from its competitors is the level of customization it offers. You can easily add titles, descriptions, and tags to your videos, as well as embed them on different websites. Additionally, Vimeo also has great customer service, which is always helpful when you have questions or need help. All in all, Vimeo is a great video hosting platform that has plenty of features to make your videos look professional.

Vimeo Pro is a great, easy-to-use, and drag-and-drop banner maker that helps me a lot to create a graphics design to ease.

Pros

So many templated that match the different sizes of all social media platforms. Even the podcast and blog post templates are also helpful for making a banner. The re-size option is also beneficial.

Cons

It has no option to convert the text to different languages.

### "A good video platform"

October 2, 2024

4.0

I use it several times a week to distribute rough cuts/masters of films for internal/external viewing.

Pros

Privacy options (mainly password protection of videos), no copyright checks (great for submitting rough cuts for review), no ads, some sort of folder management (which could be better). Android app.

Cons

The website is rather slow in the past 1-2 years. Folder management could definitely be better. No feasible way to export/create a complete list of my videos except request directly from customer support.

### "Complete solution to create and manage your streaming platform or VOD site"

May 22, 2024

Vimeo stands in to solve the rapidly evolving threats and attack in the video streaming platforms. The experience is definitely the best.

Pros

It is easy to add live streams on the platform. It gives the full freedom to customize the dashboard and allow viewers to navigate within the platform without closing the video. Adding content for watching later is possible bringing flexibility and efficiency. Scalability is a key feature in Vimeo, it is capable of supporting multiple users without glitches. Security and reliability is also present in their services making it the best tool to work with.

Cons

With huge protection against unauthorized access and user friendliness, Vimeo deserves five star rating. It has shown the best features and operation.

### "Vimeo for Business"

January 3, 2019

5.0

We are solving the problems of running out of storage space. This is a great way we can upload additional video. We also frequently need to send video elsewhere and we use Vimeo for that. Other businesses and platforms are able to easily see the video that we are sharing. The embed option is great! It's super easy to grab the code and go. You can also share a link to whatever video you upload right to your own social media page. This is easier than going through the trouble to directly upload a video to Facebook or Twitter which can clog their system. Vimeo Pro also gives you the option to see that "stats" on each individual video that you uploaded. It shows how many people have played your video, the impressions made, and the play rate. You can also link your Vimeo to Google Analytics to keep a closer eye. Mainly we just use Vimeo Pro for the uploading of videos itself.

Pros

We have been using Vimeo for your business for three years now and have never had any complaints. I work for a television news website and sometimes we need to upload additional video that our individual system does not support. That's when we turn to Vimeo. All of the videos we've uploaded have been crystal clear. We like that we're able to grab a code and paste it on our own website. It gives an option to link back to Vimeo but it isn't tacky and overwhelming. It looks neatly embedded onto our page while giving Vimeo the credit they deserve. We also like that you can customize links. This is great when we need to send a link to a video to someone who isn't in the immediate vicinity. We can change the privacy settings of Vimeo so only that person with the link can see it.

Cons

The only real complaint we have is that we tend to run out of storage space each week. Also, we wish there was a way to remove the large title off the top of the screen. An option to make it smaller or remove it altogether would be nice.

### "Use more for storage and review that sharing"

October 21, 2022

4.0

The main reason we chose vimeo over youtube is the clean look for hosting videos, no ads on our video and minimising the risk to our organisation and internal reviewing. I would love to have better support from vimeo in promoting our videos.

Pros

For the price Vimeo gives small busniness will a few people working on video content a good platform to upload, store and review footage. We use vimeo review daily to mark up and give feedback on edits - and I really love the clean look of vimeo when sharing and embedding videos. Ad free experience is also a bonsu

Cons

It seems very hard to get people to view your videos from within vimeo. The community is lacking and the internal sharing of content on vimeo is poor. I'd love to be able to get more eyes on our content and I think vimeo should be doing some of the lifting here.

### "Vimeo may be for you"

August 25, 2023

5.0

Overall my experience with Vimeo was positive. I would have loved to stay if it wasn't a financial choice at the time, but I've gone a different route with my business and no longer need this service, however, I think for those who are focusing on exclusive type videos, this may work for you.

Pros

One of the things I did like about the platform was I was able to integrate it into my website. It makes it very easy to do so. I found that it was able to be customized as well so that your videos look professional and really make your brand stand out.

Cons

The reason I decided to leave Vimeo was due to the fact that I didn't have enough space unless I paid for more space. At the time, I had just started my company and I did not want to have such a high overhead especially because I was also paying for the website and all other things that come with starting a business. I wanted to keep my costs down. But don't let that deter you, I just was not experienced on how to best utilize the system. If you are more established this may be a good platform if you want to make your videos more exclusive.

Reason for choosing Vimeo

I believe it was due to the fact that it was able to customize the videos and had a way of integrating it to my website, that was user friendly.

There was a time I searched for so many places in which I can create quality good and clear videos to transfer to a educational platform that offers resources for educators. ### "Best video hosting and screen recording app ever used!"

July 21, 2022

5.0

Totally satisfied. Previously Ive used different app for webinars (YT, webinarjam), different for screen recording (Awesome screenshot) and video hosting (YT). Now I have all in one - with better functions and performance.

Pros

\+ video/screen recording is super easy with Chrome plugin (with save to disc option) + fantastic video protection options (link domain with video embed, download protection) + fast and informational support with personalized approach to each issue (no "general" answers) + fast, smooth player with quality to bandwidth adaptation (like in YouTube) + webinar option (event) + great price to quality ratio

Cons

No cons. It is professional software that you should use if you want to host and protect your videos (ie. courses), webinars or how-to's.
