You will not get the most views on Vimeo for sure but putting your video on Vimeo and embedding your work elsewhere will make your work look better than any other video sharing platform. Secure sharing videos is also a great reason to use Vimeo. Pros \- Focused on quality, videos are less maybe not compressed. When you save videos in some websites, they get compressed over and over again to save on server costs and that was not my experience with Vimeo. - Integration and embed features. Cons \- Pricing went up over the years but unfortunately that applies for everything. - Video Editing could be useful, apps like CapCut and VN editor do a great job even on mobiles. I do personally like the platform on Vimeo better than YouTube and Vimeo feels more hip and young. It is for those who are into high resolution graphics and videomaking. It is not like YouTube where the videos are created from smartphone tools. It is for professional videomakers, animators, and motion graphics artists. It is the main reason why I joined Vimeo Pro, but now, it is turning into a career. Pros My company is focused on creating graphic designs and motion graphics to promote my artistic products, and Vimeo Pro is the perfect way to make my products promoted online. During the pandemic, I was furloughed from my employer so I decided to use my time to promote my online business. I had it established in 2015 but I was working for my employer for the last four years and did not have time to make proper sales. Instead of just sales, Vimeo Pro has helped me create an online community for those interested in my brand. It has been a lot of fun and the features on Vimeo Pro always excite me. Cons My least favorite feature is the high costs involved in maintaining my online presence on Vimeo Pro. MY favorite feature is the videomaking tool which I do have to pay a monthly subscription for, but there are so many costs involved. I would have loved to stay if it wasn't a financial choice at the time, but I've gone a different route with my business and no longer need this service, however, I think for those who are focusing on exclusive type videos, this may work for you. Pros One of the things I did like about the platform was I was able to integrate it into my website. It makes it very easy to do so. I found that it was able to be customized as well so that your videos look professional and really make your brand stand out. Cons The reason I decided to leave Vimeo was due to the fact that I didn't have enough space unless I paid for more space. At the time, I had just started my company and I did not want to have such a high overhead especially because I was also paying for the website and all other things that come with starting a business. I wanted to keep my costs down. But don't let that deter you, I just was not experienced on how to best utilize the system. If you are more established this may be a good platform if you want to make your videos more exclusive. This is a great way we can upload additional video. We also frequently need to send video elsewhere and we use Vimeo for that. Other businesses and platforms are able to easily see the video that we are sharing. The embed option is great! It's super easy to grab the code and go. You can also share a link to whatever video you upload right to your own social media page. This is easier than going through the trouble to directly upload a video to Facebook or Twitter which can clog their system. Vimeo Pro also gives you the option to see that "stats" on each individual video that you uploaded. It shows how many people have played your video, the impressions made, and the play rate. You can also link your Vimeo to Google Analytics to keep a closer eye. Mainly we just use Vimeo Pro for the uploading of videos itself. Pros We have been using Vimeo for your business for three years now and have never had any complaints. I work for a television news website and sometimes we need to upload additional video that our individual system does not support. That's when we turn to Vimeo. All of the videos we've uploaded have been crystal clear. We like that we're able to grab a code and paste it on our own website. It gives an option to link back to Vimeo but it isn't tacky and overwhelming. It looks neatly embedded onto our page while giving Vimeo the credit they deserve. We also like that you can customize links. This is great when we need to send a link to a video to someone who isn't in the immediate vicinity. We can change the privacy settings of Vimeo so only that person with the link can see it. Cons The only real complaint we have is that we tend to run out of storage space each week. While Vimeo users might be inclined to work from a high-rise office (hypothetically speaking) , YouTube users are more like the coffee shop dwellers that don't really care about the optics, they just want to get the job done. All in all, Vimeo in my opinion is more top-tier between the two options. Pros On Vimeo you can customize extensively the way you embed your videos, even going as far as to putting a password on them for an added layer of security. It has simulated live events, integrated APIs and so much more to offer than I initially anticipated. If you are starting a professional video platform, you should definitely consider opening up a Vimeo Pro account. Cons When using the trial version, Vimeo does not accept "promotional videos" to be uploaded onto your account. Should you cross that line your account will be flagged and you will be forced to purchase a full license to re-activate your account so do yourself a favor and read their terms and conditions before signing up, failure to do so might get you banned from their platform. Vimeo is more specialized for professionals therefore you can share videos among other professionals as well as you can get in tough with other professionals. It has a free version but with limited storage and a paid service with unlimited. Cons It is kind of expensive to use if you have higher volume content, free service only allows certain total size storage per month Reason for choosing Vimeo YouTube was very picky and restrictive, they even removed our own creations not believe they were ours, this incident happened twice so we closed our YouTube account and move to Vimeo. Pros Vimeo Pro is not cheap, but it gives you a lot of great features. You have 7TB of space to upload videos, you have great tools to control where your content can be viewed and saved, there are review tools for client videos , online video creation tools and a video capture plugin for your browser so you can make your own screen capture videos. There's also access to live stream studio, which is professional level streaming software. Cons It is expensive if you're not using all of the tools regularly. The cost comes out to $75/month which is much more expensive than 'free' which is what hosting videos on YouTube would cost. This is great as we can set it to have a logo above the video or to remove controls, no logos and muted. Streaming bitrate is adapted to the client as well. Also, we have hosted video classrooms that people can pay to get access to. These videos are set with privacy controls and as part of our channel. El problema con ellos son los planes de precios. En sus planes de precios disponen de varias opciones. En nuestro caso disponíamos del Advanced que es el más alto antes de ser un plan personalizado. En el plan Advanced dispones de 2 TB de transferencia de datos al mes y teníamos un coste anual de 479 dólares más impuestos. En estos años nos hemos pasado 3 veces de los 2 TB. Supuestamente, cada vez que te pasan te envían un correo electrónico indicando que te has excedido. Ese correo nunca llegó. Cuando excedimos la 1ª vez no dijeron nada. Cuando excedimos la 2ª vez se puso un comercial en contacto con nosotros y nos ofreció un plan de 2.000 dólares año con un ancho de banda de 20 TB a repartir como uno quiera a lo largo de ese año.Con la negociación se llegó a la conclusión de que nos quedábamos como estábamos y se bajaba el consumo.Al año siguiente nos excedimos 1 mes por 18 gb. Es decir de 2.000 gigas, utilizamos 2.018 gigas. Se puso una agente comercial en contacto con nosotros y nos ofreció un plan de 50 TB por 6.000 dólares. Es decir, por excedernos 1 mes un 0,9% nos ofrecieron un plan que pasaba de 479 dólares a 6.000. Es decir, un 1.152 % más caro. Además en ambas situaciones los agentes comerciales te presionan para que te decidas en 2 días o te cierran el acceso.No existe proceso de negociación. Si te gusta bien y si no te vas. Eso hemos hecho. Pros Los fallos de acceso a los vídeos por parte de los usuarios han sido pocos. Cons El gran problema que tienen es el servicio de atención al cliente y su departamento de ventas.
