I recommended open dental over any other dental software. i have used eaglesoft, dentrix, curve hero, easy dental, and a few more and open dental is by far my favorite

Pros

Open dental is very user-friendly. Open dental makes it very easy to figure things out if you do not know how to do something by utilizing there help button on tool bar.

Cons

The live support is not an option unless you pay monthly for the service so therefore sometimes it takes a little bit to find the answers

It was good. Support is good. Software does what is necessary. However in case of any escalations they are not cooperative. It clearly shows they grow too large and are disconcerted with individual users.

Pros

Affordability. I like voting system for new features (however new features are done very slowly, it typically take years before they are considered). There is some ease of use and lots of online trainings.

Cons

With lower price comes lower expectations. First of all the Canadian version is not put sufficient efforts. I really would advise all Canadians to consider other software suppliers who consider Canadian market more seriously. Many features can only be used in US, unfortunately. Finally the weakest part is patient tracking. It simply lacks feature to assure no patients is left behind. I noticed we are loosing patients because of lack of tools to track them. Any tracking is done with manual queries which can be very unfriendly to end user.

Overall it was great for xrays and patients dental imaging. Had very little bugs or issues. And as far as I was aware was cost efficient.

Pros

What I liked the most about open dental is the segurito and customer support. Anytime I had an issue they handled it quickly.

Cons

There is nothing that i like the least about open dental. It is very easy to manage patients and a dental practice.

Pros

Very easy to use and versatile. I really like the simplicity of the software. It's great for general dentistry as well as orthodontics.

Cons

integration with other software, I don't know how to seamlessly integrate the software with other specialty programs such as Invisalign, but it might be because I don't know how to do it.

I entered the dental field as a Practice Manager 2 years ago with no prior experience. Thus, Open Dental is the only practice management software I've used. Luckily it is user-friendly, and I felt comfortable navigating the basics within days. Over time, I've picked up on some of the more complex feature; however, I still feel like we do not utilize all of the available features.

Pros

Open Dental offers great pricing options for our practice, and it is easy to learn the basics of the database system.

Cons

There are a limited number of standard reports options. For more specific reports tailored to our business needs, it is sometimes tough to find a "User Query" that is on point. Open Dental does provide an online database of queries, but it can be a timely task to find exactly what we're looking for.

I use it every day at work and so far, it's been an easy tool to keep sensitive and private information from patient stored in the system. Also, I like that the app is simple to use. I learned how everything works within a day, and so far, I don't have big issues. In general, I am satisfied.

Pros

The app is straightforward to use. It also allows me to access data from patients with high accuracy.

Cons

Sometimes, I experienced malfunctions such as a "frozen screen," which required me to reopen the application or even reset my computer during work, while on a phone call, or when encountering a delay while trying to open a patient's file.

Really easy to use. They work with you and you can develop the system based on your necessities. Good customer service.

The cloud version is not completely developed. But I really like Open Dental. It is very functional

I have used open dental in several different dental offices and no matter what the flow of the office is open dental can accommodate anything

Pros

I honestly cannot think of one negative thing to say about open dental. It is very user-friendly no matter what your job role is in the office. The reporting is also very easy to understand and easy to access and it is real time. I couldn’t think of any other practice management software that I would prefer over this one.

Cons

Again, I really couldn’t think of anything that I don’t like about open dental but if I really had to nitpick, I would say that I wish you could have multiple like if I were to open the chart I wish I could also leave the other window open instead of having to open two different open dental windows

10/10. They have a robust software that can help manage most aspects of a dental practice. They have exceptional customer support and all at a reasonable cost.

Pros

It is very user friendly, easy to learn, an extremely comprehensive supporting most dental practice needs

Cons

Certain parts of the accounting module are a real challenge. Speficall the ledger (balances are difficult to read with regard to when insurance claims are initiated vs reconciled). The payment plan portion is helpful but very rigid when setting up or editing is needed.

We have been very pleased with the user-friendly interface, the appearance, and the customer service we've received from Open Dental over the past 6 years.

Pros

Ease of use, excellent customer service, cost, meets all of our needs in our busy pediatric dental office

Cons

I feel as though it's not used as widely in offices as some other patient management software programs, so many new hires require training on Open Dental before beginning their positions
