I also enjoy getting to know the all the different employees' jobs and functions. They are still small enough to care but large enough to matter. Pros I love that every time we go to upgrade or integrate, Ascend can accommodate. I also enjoy the staff I have worked with. Cons Not much TBH. They pop up on all my social media platforms all the time. Im sure that's A.I. but can be annoying. March 31, 2026 5.0 Ascend TMS has been a great system to work in — very user-friendly with strong integrations that actually support day-to-day operations. The training resources are top notch and always available when you need them. I also want to highlight \[sensitive content hidden\] , my rep, who consistently points me in the right direction and makes sure I’m getting the most out of the platform. That level of support makes a big difference. Overall, it’s been a solid tool for running and growing operations efficiently. Pros What I like most is how everything is connected throughout the entire lifecycle of a load. You enter the information once, and it flows seamlessly across dispatch, tracking, and reporting, which makes it much easier to stay organized and efficient. The ability to run reports and have clear visibility into operations is a big advantage, and the integrations really enhance the overall functionality of the system. It’s designed in a way that actually supports how you run your business day to day and it's been a very cost-effective solution for running operations efficiently. Owner Transportation/Trucking/Railroad Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Good For What You Pay" May 30, 2020 3.0 Overall the TMS allowed me to get up and running, but as we continue to grow, we've reached the point of needing to find a TMS that fits our needs. This is a great startup TMS, but realistically anyone who does over $1 - $2 mil in rev will outgrow the TMS fast. Pros This software allows you to get up and running fairly quickly, customer service is good when they are open and you can reach someone to talk with. They always seem to be doing updates which is a good thing I suppose. Cons Your always told their doing updates which is a good thing, there is never any type of notice when changes are made, what the changes are that are being made, and if you work on the weekend you can't reach anyone. Today particularly systems are down, been down for over an hour, can't reach a single person for support, help, and prevents you from doing your very basic freight functions. As a business owner, paying hourly employees, independent brokers can't help their clients and customers, this snowballed very quickly and go out of control. Would be nice if we knew what changes were done, when support tells you they will submit a change and get back to you when the change will be done that there was follow through, that you could get support when needed, and have help as the system can be clunky and super temperamental at first. In the last 5 years years we've been down for less than 44 minutes TOTAL. So, I don't think it was AscendTMS that was down, it was likely your Internet connection. Regarding size of our customers, our largest customer is a $9 billion distributor with 360 DC's and 3 separate logistics offices in North America. So, we can definitely support both the biggest logistics operations as well as the smallest operations like yours (hopefully you'll make it to $9 billion one day, too . Pros Service! It's become rare to find responsive service these days. Everything is chat, AI, call center, yuck. Not Ascend, real people like \[sensitive content hidden\] are paying attention and ready to help. Cons I wish there was a way to email carriers based on filters. Conestogas who have moved loads from MN to the southeast for example. We figure it out, but that sort o functionality would be ideal. Ascend should honor the price that they told me it would be but instead the price went up to $99 dollars per month. May 6, 2022 5.0 User friendly, Inexpensive, customer service is on point and there always looking to make things easier and better for everyone in this industry. Pros I have zero of computer experience and I was able to run it smoothly with confidence in about 4 days tops. I'm still finding great things I had no idea that it existed in this software. It works like a very well oiled machine. No glitches in any of the application. I spend literally 12 plus hours a day inside of this software. Cons Haven't found anything yet. and I have been using the software for over a month. Reason for choosing AscendTMS The over all build was just better. Those other TMS providers are gonna have a really hard time even matching your software nevertheless your price point for all your giving us as a customer. June 16, 2021 5.0 Overall, it has been a great experience. I would recommend Ascend TMS to anyone looking for a new TMS system. Pros It is very robust. It allows me to build loads as simple or complex as I need. Whether it is a 1 pick 1 drop load, or a 12 stop load with detention and layover charges to different parties, Ascend lets me build loads however I need for them to be. Cons The only downside that I have found so far is that there is not a mobile application for the TMS board. There have been a couple situations over the past several months where I was away from the office and could have used a mobile application to build a load on my phone, but that was not an option because the mobile web version did not store all of the locations and carriers that the desktop version stores. I've tried out a few others and was very confused and they didn't seem to be quite as easy to use. Pros So far my favorite thing is that I can link my load boards so that posting loads is easy (DAT, Truckstop, 123Loadboard, CHRobinson, and more). I can also keep track of all my customers and any carriers that we have. I can upload documents to carriers profiles and keep track of accounting. This is all in one place! Cons I haven't found much that I don't like. The only struggle I have right now is that I would like to upload my blank BOL and rate cons. It doesn't seem to be saving them when I try to upload. I would definetly reccommend this to anyone looking for a TMS for their brokerage. Pros Easy to use. Intergrations are very helpful. It covers every need I have for my business. Cons Learning the software can be daunting at first. There is just a lot that it does. But the training options are very helpful. Would like to see more intergration options for tracking and funding. The prerecorded training videos should be made more professionally, in my opinion. You can tell they were made in someone's kitchen or something with dogs barking, kids running around, and other interruptions. Also the way they spoke was either too fast, mumbled, or otherwise difficult to understand. They seemed to gloss over some things that would have been nice to see demonstrated.
