It is a comforting feeling knowing the software is dependable and when necessary, Ascend Support has responded within minutes of submitting my request for assistance. July 29, 2024 5.0 Easy to use and understand. Lots of options for customer, carrier and location specific information. Searchability is amazing. Pros Intuitive and easy to use. Fast and responsive. I did demos of a lot of different software and this one checked all the boxes. Support is very quick to reply and they are very open to changes or feature ideas. Cons Because the software has to cater to a large range and size of trucklines and brokers, sometimes that creates extra steps. Two examples, when uploaded a BOL within a load, you have to select the customer or it won't send with the Invoice. Other would be the customer email addresses show up when sending a carrier confirmation. They are unchecked and marked with a RED ! to say don't click this. But I would prefer they weren't there at all. Reason for choosing AscendTMS Price, cloud based, intuitive feel, and friendliness of staff. We vetted over 30 different solutions throughout our startup process. At the end of the day Ascend has incredible features, and at value that allows you to scale from day 1 with 5-10 loads per day through year 10 doing nearly 10000 loads annually. They are updating features quarterly that add more value to the suite without making implementation a massive capital undertaking on day 1. Highly customizable environment that allows the user to build format that works for them. Would highly recommend giving this software a look. Pros AscendTMS is incredibly easy to implement. The ascend team does a great job assisting in any data uploading that is necessary to avoid costly data entry man hours. The TMS is very user friendly and is full of useful, relevant features that most higher end TMS programs overlook. Cons Any issues that we have with the software are readily corrected and revised by ascend's team. Any time we have had an issue which has been less than 5 times since we started using this software in 2015 are resolved rapidly. I've been using this product for less than a month as of today. But so far, any issue I've had has been very quickly resolved by the CSR team. Pros I love how quickly the Ascend team responds to inquiries. I have worked with other software companies, and none were as quick to reach back out with a solution. Cons If you don't have some sort of carrier setup integration, i.e. RIMS or some similar service, the uploading of documents can be tedious as you can only upload one doc at a time. I set up our old system using Google features while it worked, there were numerous spreadsheets and it was a bit scattered. However there was not a program out there when I started with LaDon's that does what Ascend does. Thank you.. I needed this... Pros I like that I can access info quickly, there are templates for me to use for building loads and dispatching is so much easier. Drivers can upload docs straight into system so billing isn't spending hours scanning documents. There are so many things that I like about this system that I would need a much larger space to write it all out. Cons I am a planner. I need to have a daily/weekly calendar feature that your loads are automatically added to as they are put into the pending stage. Although the Search load has some of what I need I have to go in daily and download the daily log which is fine, but I'm kind of a at a glance type of person also. Pros I like AscendTMS because the software flow is logical. It is rather easy to use after a few times in the system. I would certainly love for our Fleet coalition to utilize this system because it is easy to duplicate, easy to train others but i do wish the pricing was a bit more competitive. Cons The part that I was not in love with is when I had to add customers to the database. I think that portion along with adding drivers/ operators could be simplified. Pros Ascend makes it easy to get a view of all of the loads and their status, and it is very customizable for each user. The integration with MCP, Truckstop, DAT, and Triumph really streamlines things and helps you manage your time. Also, if you do have an issue (usually you made a mistake), the support team is very responsive and friendly. Cons This is small, but I wish there was a quick-button to go from the load board to the accounting module in a load. Also, I wish I could import approved customers from Triumph to Ascend like we do carriers from MCP. While functional, it was very time consuming to do things this way and required a lot more hands on everything each week. With Ascend, we have been able to streamline processes, manage our databases and engage with Quickbooks to free up time for most of our staff members. This has allowed us to spend more time on other things, such as sales, recruiting and overall growth of our companies. Pros I really like the features for the price of this product. It offers efficiencies in our processes on many levels, allows multiple users to access data, combines information in one place and much more. Other similar systems cost many times more than the Ascend program, making this a great option for smaller companies with smaller budgets. Cons Updating templates does not automatically update active loads or pre-existing loads which used those templates. This just means you have to manually update existing loads based on the template in addition to the template itself when making changes. Let's look at the FACTS before people believe your LIES. You should be ASHAMED of yourself. 1. You NEVER used your free BASIC AscendTMS account & NEVER moved a single load with it. 2. Your boss told you to use it but you were resistant from the start and didn't want to as you preferred paper (clearly, you never did use AscendTMS because it appears you have no business at all!) 3. You only ever had a free BASIC account - and didn't even use that. You never even used our PREMIUM software - EVER!!!! 4. You took absolutely NO training classes - (even though they were offered, free). Bottom Line: We have billion dollar companies using (and loving) AscendTMS. We are THE. most widely used TMS. Unfortunately, Jaccqlyn, if you have NO customers, NO loads, NO staff, NO tech ability, and NO intent to use it, then AscendTMS is DEFINITELY not a fit for you.
