November 10, 2017 5.0 Pros AscendTMS is super quick to get started, and very straightforward to use. Most of what you need to do is very intuitive and quickly accessible. Most information (for loads/carriers/etc.) is presented in one screen or with menu-driven pop-up windows - no annoying switching to multiple screens. It's very responsive. While some other companies require days if not weeks to set up demos, and can cost huge amounts of money, getting started LIVE with AscendTMS took only a matter of moments and was FREE! The help system seems quite comprehensive and includes video tutorials as well. They even have daily live help/demo sessions with their support team. The cost vs. benefit value proposition can't be beat. (Free for basic features; enterprise level features.) Seems to have comprehensive features that most companies would require, whether shipper, carrier or 3PL broker. Surprisingly full-featured for the minimal cost. From what I gather, they seem to be continually adding new features. This is not a stagnant product, but continues to evolve. I would definitely include this in your short-list of TMS software to try out. I think you'd be hard-pressed to find other software that is so easy and free to try, and that has so many features. You can access it and do simple changes but any complex changes or adds will be difficult done on a mobile device. The ease of use of the software cuts down on time signing carries, building rate cons and accounting. If you ever have a problem support team is amazing to work with and she will get you ironed out in short order. I recommend you contact them immediately. Pros Ease of use, accesability, customer support. Cons If I had to make a con it would be that there are no alarms that go off if you are forgetting to do something, like contact a truck. Love the google feature that auto fills your addresses. Cons No multi currency, no customs brokerage section, too many steps/options to choose for status of a shipment. I am beginning the process of hiring new agents, and I fully expect them to be able to get a handle on the software within a day, and to be experts within a week. This is the easiest to use, most intuitive TMS I have seen. Cons I wish there was a feature to input, and then search by, Carriers' available equipment and states of operation. Your customer service department is great. I would especially like to thank representative Pros Able to navigate through it easily. It has all the functions I require. Customer service is great. I was having a few issues with my load posting with Nextload, and she immediately got in contact with representative@ Nextload, and between the two of them it was corrected in no time. She was keeping me updated as repairs were being done , to see if she could help me in any way until the issue was resolved . That really meant a lot to me , and to my business. Her customer service skills are beyond excellent !! She makes you feel very comfortable as she walks you through any issues you might be facing as a new or existing customer. She is very kind, and extremely patient !! She is without doubt a fantastic representative for your company. Her attention to detail and her professionalism shines through constantly, you don't find that very often these days ! It's obvious that not only does she know what she is doing, she does it with a wonderful attitude and disposition. She is very professional and informative, not to mention sweet and kind !! Cons I'm happy with the features thus far but it seems like AscendTMS is willing to listen to you if you have a suggestion. We used to track our loads in a Google Sheet, which got really messy after a while. This is a much better and more organized way to manage things on a daily basis. Pros I love that there is a free option and that the paid version is so affordable. Having so many built-in features keeps my overhead low and means we're no longer using a spreadsheet to track loads! Cons The regularly scheduled training webinars are general (for both brokers and carriers) instead of specialized to one or the other. That means there are some topics covered that I don't need to know. She was always so friendly and quick to respond. She helped us solve any issues with the system, or navigate through it. Pros The TMS system is easy to navigate, easy to edit documents or load details. Cons Reporting tools were easy to create, but it could be more narrow in options for creating the report. You can register online with the free trial and be ready to go in minutes. The sample data was helpful in learning the lay of the land, and the features are endless. Integrates easily with DAT and other load boards. Built in tracking for trucks. Cons The only downside so far, which is not Ascend's fault at all, is that we will not be connecting it to Truckstop.com. Ascend DOES have the feature available, but Truckstop.com charges so much to give you the integration code. I understand that Truckstop charges this fee no matter which TMS you integrate with, so it's still best to go with Ascend to save money on the TMS side!
