Pros: Other than the fact that there is a free version, which is perfect for the type of work that I do, The FormTool allows me to easily create basic forms--from intake to arbitration forms--that save me a ton of time.

Cons: The free version has a number of limitations, one of which is that if any given field uses an unsupported character or combination of characters, the whole program crashes. This bug may have been fixed in later versions. I'm still using the 2016 version.

Overall: Time savings and productivity

Pros: Lots of powerful features; should have easy creation of templates in plain word format; low price point.

Cons: Hard to set up templates, promise of word format templates not helpful in practice; trouble saving changes to templates

Comments: I've been using the FormTool / Doxsera for about a year in a consulting environment. Most of our reports have a lot of similar sections from one to the next (i.e. regulations will apply from one project to the next, methods will be very similar, etc). The software has made generating reports and proposals much easier and quicker; however, it does feel like it follows the 80/20 rule - you can get 80% of the overall benefit with about 20% of the effort but that last 20% is definitely a kicker. I've had some instances where the fields in the body of the report don't seem to line up to the entry boxes, almost like some crossed wires where the wrong text gets populated. Could be my own user error I suppose. The add-on also doesn't seem to mesh well with some templates we already had in a house from a corporate policy / branding standpoint. Having said that, the software still reduces time generating documents, they just need to be reviewed before being sent out.

Comments: Has really made my estates practice zoom. I don't even need a paralegal., so it keeps my overhead low while making me more efficient. Love it. But...

"You're wrong, I'm right" - actual quote from my call to customer service.

Rude and condescending. Bob Christensen is the owner apparently. He is also the customer service rep, and the salesperson. He was a total jerk to me. He said "I don't need to look at your account, JUST DO WHAT I'M SAYING." I'm surprised 'moron' didn't come out of his mouth. It was on the tip of his tongue for sure.

The thing is, he was right. I was wrong. But does that matter? I'm not stupid. I'm very well educated, computer savvy and friendly. I made a simple, excusable mistake. ALL he had to do was go into my account and say 'you see where that X is now a Y in your new license code?' That's ALL he had to do. But instead he spent twice that time talking to me like I was an idiot and telling me that he didn't need to help me I just needed to simply 'do what he said.'
