President - Owner Legal Services Used the software for: 2+ years ### "TheFormTool makes automating forms easy" February 6, 2019 4.0 Pros I currently use the FREE option on a regular basis. I work on automating Probate, Estate Planning, and Divorce forms which are regularly used for legal documents. Creating the table is easy and using the software is simple and straight-forward. The software helps save time for repetitious documents preparation for law forms. Cons There are a few glitches that I don't like about TheFormTool. One inconvenience is when I insert the fields when creating a form template there is a small delay each time I insert a field. Another inconvenience is free option only automates one document at a time and must be inserted at the bottom of the form. Review Source HL Herman L. Attorney Law Practice Used the software for: 2+ years ### "TheFormTool for Legal Practice" April 2, 2020 5.0 In my business there are a lot of pleadings and documents that are similar. The form tool makes filling in the blanks real easy. Pros It is easy to set up and use. It makes it real easy to take an existing form type of pleading and convert it into a usable form. Cons It does not automatically petrify when printing a document. If you forget to petrify, the information data will be printed along with the remainder of the document. BM Ben M. Used the software for: ### "Improving Efficiency" December 6, 2016 4.0 I've been using the FormTool / Doxsera for about a year in a consulting environment. Most of our reports have a lot of similar sections from one to the next (i.e. regulations will apply from one project to the next, methods will be very similar, etc). The software has made generating reports and proposals much easier and quicker; however, it does feel like it follows the 80/20 rule - you can get 80% of the overall benefit with about 20% of the effort but that last 20% is definitely a kicker. I've had some instances where the fields in the body of the report don't seem to line up to the entry boxes, almost like some crossed wires where the wrong text gets populated. Could be my own user error I suppose. The add-on also doesn't seem to mesh well with some templates we already had in a house from a corporate policy / branding standpoint. Having said that, the software still reduces time generating documents, they just need to be reviewed before being sent out. The Team at TheFormTool CF Charles F. Used the software for: ### "Good program, terrible customer service" February 4, 2016 4.0 Has really made my estates practice zoom. I don't even need a paralegal., so it keeps my overhead low while making me more efficient. Love it. But... "You're wrong, I'm right" - actual quote from my call to customer service. Rude and condescending. Bob Christensen is the owner apparently. He is also the customer service rep, and the salesperson. He was a total jerk to me. He said "I don't need to look at your account, JUST DO WHAT I'M SAYING." I'm surprised 'moron' didn't come out of his mouth. It was on the tip of his tongue for sure. The thing is, he was right. I was wrong. But does that matter? I'm not stupid. I'm very well educated, computer savvy and friendly. I made a simple, excusable mistake. ALL he had to do was go into my account and say 'you see where that X is now a Y in your new license code?' That's ALL he had to do. But instead he spent twice that time talking to me like I was an idiot and telling me that he didn't need to help me I just needed to simply 'do what he said.' April 5, 2019 4.0 It has helped our firm quickly draft common motions and pleadings and it prevents errors that commonly occur when re-using pleadings (if you set up the form carefully to begin with). Pros Once you have a form document created, it makes it really easy to re-use common motions and other pleadings, as well as contracts and other legal documents. Cons It is tedious to set up a new form, but that is more a function what level of customization you need. Review Source EW Elan W. Managing Member Law Practice Used the software for: 2+ years ### "FormTool - Free and Powerful" August 16, 2017 5.0 Time savings and productivity Pros Other than the fact that there is a free version, which is perfect for the type of work that I do, The FormTool allows me to easily create basic forms--from intake to arbitration forms--that save me a ton of time. Cons The free version has a number of limitations, one of which is that if any given field uses an unsupported character or combination of characters, the whole program crashes.
