Comments: Training on the product should be done is different steps. The initial one to get a practice going. Then another one like 3 months later. Because once you start getting a hang of the system that is when you have questions, because at that time you know what to ask but the training is done so you have to go on internal hold for tech support (I have been on hold for an hour) or go to on line support which is just a bad because they never know exactly what your talking about. Just a bad set up.

Pros: I'm not a big fan of the product. I think there is something more geared for our business. We were told it was but once we got working in it, we learned it wasn't

Cons: The practice management side doesn't talk with the EHR side and if you have to note something, you have to do it in both sides. The Fax is so slow and it fails all the time. Hold time for tech support is horrible. I could go on .

Pros: The MediTouch software provides a high level of functionality. We were very happy with some of the additional features that have provided much higher levels of efficiency.

Cons: We've had some disconnects with customer service, both in the sales phase and the transition phase. The company was going through a merger, so that may have been the cause of the issues.

Comments: Some features are fine, but some like e-prescribe are bad enough that we are actively looking for a new EMR and don't expect to stay with Meditouch much longer.

Pros: Versatile and customizable; reports can be very comprehensive and useful and can be run on many different subjects.

Cons: Difficult to navigate and not at all intuitive -- it takes a lot of clicks in random places to accomplish most tasks. The worst is the e-prescribe feature, which is unreliable and is often pending for 20 minutes and then will randomly fail for no reason, leading to a lot of calls from unhappy patients waiting at the pharmacy. Meditouch support is remarkably unhelpful with this and support in general has become much worse ever since Healthfusion was taken over by NextGen.

Cons: Wow. Where to start! You can't add addendums. You can't preview incoming faxes so you have to open the entire fax and then enlarge it just to read it. You can't fax out XPS documents. If you e-rx a med a few days early, you can't change the date on the rx. You can't free text the e-rx's so if you have any tapered directions you have to call the men in. If you are not in the note when you e-rx a med, you can't add it later to the Plan. The templates are very frustrating to use when you have to change the verbiage because the system will frequently delete the entire verbiage if you click the wrong button. The billing system is a nightmare. Not intuitive at all. Very complicated. It is also very difficult to move around in the EMR because again, if you click the wrong button, you are suddenly out of the pt's medical chart and into the pt's financial chart and then you have to click 3 times and search again for the pt's chart just to get back to the pt's chart. And if you had several other pt's charts open when you made that mistake, they all get closed as well. SO, IT IS A TERRIBLE EMR. The worst I've ever used by far. I have trained for 40 hours on this thing and it's still difficult and slow moving around in it and I'm working on a PhD! The worst part is that they are holding me to a year long contract that says I will pay them even if I stop using it. That should have been my first clue to RUN AWAY!!! And that it took them 6 months to get my fax, lab, and insurances loaded!!!

Overall: Almost none.

Pros: The fact that I can e-rx scheduled meds and the ease of refilling any meds once they are documented.

Cons: Way, way too many clicks to accomplish what you want AND the fact that you can't access the patient's financial info from the EHR. So you have to "jump the fence"back and forth if you're in an actual chart and want to look at their insurance or other financial info. So, again, way way too many clicks! I hate it! And it has a LOT of glitches so the billing has been a nightmare. Definitely not worth the monthly fee for so much hassle.

Overall: Almost no benefit at all.

Comments: Not a very good system, mediocre customer service.

Pros: Doctor is happy with the electronic health records but the administrative side is the worst I have ever used.

Cons: Very inflexible on the financial side. when a mistake is made, sometimes, there are many steps to correct the mistakes. For example, refunding a credit card payment, if a mistake is made is impossible. Applying payments is also very cumbersome. The worse thing is a receipt with all the charges can not be printed for a patient until the claim has been submitted to the ins and the patient's payment is applied.

Pros: MediTouch so far is very user friendly. Go to meeting training is OK. They have many templates to chose from.

Cons: Having problems with the data migration, but they are working on getting that fixed. The trainer talks very fast and only wants to do 1 session for each thing so the ones who cannot make it have to rely on the help screens.

Comments: EHR side is VERY time consuming for doctors, which leads to a decease in patients. Videos are very vague, they don't consume enough information to learn it on your own. All updates or changes are just given as a message on the home page.

Pros: The only real positive thing I can say is the customer support are very good and usually can fix what's needed.

Cons: Constantly having to click with mouse to switch from area to area in both EHR & Practice Mgmt side, completely waste my time. Doing accounting and NOT being able to use just the keyboard is frustrating since you have to take your hands off keyboard and use the mouse far far to much. If I have a problem and send a ticket for something to get fixed, it takes so long for them to do it that I completely forget what I sent in, so now I have to snap shot the page to keep as a reminder. Even if it's super important and you ask them to call you back as soon as it's fixed THEY NEVER CALL BACK.

Hello Dr. Ram, Per our discussion this past week, we are unable to complete data migration until we have your previous system¿s data. I¿m sorry that your prior vendor is not more willing to work with you on this transition. Our system requirements are always highlighted during the sales process since we are a completely cloud based solution, all you need is an internet connection. We hope to resume training and implementation with you soon! Thank you, Sarah Janisse

Overall: Our data migration ran three months behind schedule. The tech team promised us but could not deliver. We had to pay thousands to outside technicians to manage the project.

Training terrible...you have to work through tutorials. Trainers would not give you time and help you need. I was told only two sessions are allowed ..which barely scratched the surface.

It is hard to maneuver. Lot of glitches.. too many to list

Vendor Response

by NextGen Healthcare Information HF on April 24, 2017

Thank for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear that the Data Migration timeline did not meet your expectations. Our team worked diligently on the project to meet your timeframe, however, due to the quality of data received, large number of people involved in the project, missing information, and speed at which files were produced from your prior vendor, this proved to be challenging. It appears that your practice was active in training for 4 months. Our typical Implementation lasts 6-8 weeks with 2 live sessions each week, in addition to our online resources. I have contacted you via email to discuss training and arrange additional sessions to ensure you are comfortable with all aspects of the system. I look forward to speaking with you. - Sarah

Comments: We recently changed the software to Meditouch. We are still in transition, however, it's been smooth. We had some issues with integration from our LIS (laboratory information system) but Healthfusion's Integration team was great in getting it fixed.

Pros: customer support - easy to contact, do not have to create "tickets," friendly vendors - do not need separate clearinghouse or separate vendor for patient statements. Can perform all duties in one shot Billing - denial defender is a great tool and helps submit clean claims Auto Posts - great for practices with minimal coding Reports - very user friendly and accurate

Cons: Payment Posting - not very friendly, need to "void" payments rather than correct ERA - system misses many payments, which we then have to post manually Auto Post - not conducive for lab billing

Comments: We are very happy we decided to replace our earlier EMR with MediTouch. This switch required the complicated task of data migration in addition to all other issues involved in implementing a new EMR. The data migration was not easy and required many iterations as expected but generally theswitch was smooth.

Pros: Easy to use.

Cons: Customer service as it relates to resolving quick issues could be better. Waiting times on the phone is long and needs to shorten. Also staff answering such calls are at entry level and should be better trained.

Comments: Meditouch does a great job advertising and seeming attractive. However they have very poor customer support, The implementation process was as disorganized and fragmented as one can imagine. They definitely try to nickel and dime you for every single thing you might want (including outrageous costs to any lab you want to interface with). It took countless hours to get set up because very little is done by the company, most are expected to be done by the client. The software itself is adequate but definitely not impressive. I was previously with practice fusion and feel that it is a much better software. The PM/billing portion is better than the EHR, but I wish I would've gone with something else.

Recommendations to other buyers: Would not recommend this.

Comments: This is one of the few EHRs that actually turn out looking like a medical note rather than a list after list of repetitive data that is hard to follow and actually see what is going on with the patient and what they are taking for current medications. The note is constructed in the SOAP format so that it is easy to follow. The platform allows customization for office/ASC procedures that are easy to setup after initial orientation and it also allows for multiple options for physical findings in the exam. Care360 is similar in that it is a SOAP note format, but doesn't have a billing component built in and requires Kareo or another billing program that doesn't marry to the EHR easily.

Pros: Customization, Readability of completed notes, no confusion on problem lists, medication lists, etc. No laundry list after list after list causing you to wonder "where's the meat" of this note that will tell me what's going on.

Cons: There is a lot of data on the page so it is sometimes hard to read everything on a standard iPad. At my age, I should probably use a "Pro" sized iPad. Other than that, not much.

Recommendations to other buyers: Any software you consider, you should get a demonstration and you should be allowed the opportunity to ask all the questions you need in order to see how it would fit into your specialty

Comments: We have about eight months into this software and are still struggling with very basic issues such as claims not making it to the carrier and reports not functioning to our (or our clients') level of expectation. I cannot report on many fields in the system and despite being told in the beginning that their reporting tool was being enhanced and we could report on individual fields, and spend additional money to export data so we could create our own reports. Clients are increasingly frustrated with inability to get eligibility checks on many of their common carriers and to get anything much beyond just confirmation of coverage (not outline of actual benefits, etc.) Collections module is clunky and we have not found it to be effective. On the upside, claims entry is fairly simple, and auto posting is a breeze, as is data entry of patient information.

Pros: Autoposting is fantastic. We find it does it correctly close to 100% of the time. When the system cannot effectively autopost, it "flags" the RA so that you can address it individually. When we initially converted, we found that importing patient demographics was refreshingly simple and something we could do on our own without additional costs. Patient demographics are easy to enter and maintain.

Cons: Reporting is completely ineffective. Canned reports don't balance against each other, and it's hard to quantify values. Not much assistance from Customer Service, although they do try to be helpful. EDI process has been nothing short of challenging. From enrollment issues in the beginning to claims submission and follow-up issues, we are finding as we work AR several months later we're still having issues with some of our claims from early on which can't seem to arrive at the payer, despite acceptance confirmation from Healthfusion/ENS. It's costing us hours of time on the phone and lost productivity. We also cannot actually see the acceptance reports and are told we can't have access to those because they're in larger batches, which again creates additional phone calls and work on our part.

Recommendations to other buyers: Regardless of feeling like we did fairly responsible research on our part, we ran into a number of issues for which we were not prepared. Put potential vendors through challenging scenarios you have in your current system and have them explain how they would resolve them. Even then, watch carefully once you change to make sure you're getting what you were promised. If you're able, roll over one client at a time (if you have multiple) so you can ensure everything works as promised and works productively before you move your entire book of business.

Comments: I have found MediTouch to be very user friendly. I love the fact that I can just enter the patient's ID number and get a real time eligibility report!

Cons: If the patient has a policy that covers more than one family member, the system sometimes, will not allow you to create the chart for the 2nd member or what not.

Recommendations to other buyers: You can't go wrong with this software.

Comments: I would have a hard time to find an appropriate medical diagnose for common musculeoskeletal issue. It's little trouble to schedule a patient and use EHR at the same time because it will change different interface.

Pros: The layout is clear.

Cons: Some of the guidance questions do have many choices. Usually typing up the description is better. Also, the pain scale on each body part is different rating. I'll hope there is an universal rating scale like the level of pain on the scale of 10 etc.

Vendor Response

by NextGen Healthcare Information HF on January 11, 2017

Thank you for your review. We always appreciate feedback! If you¿re having trouble finding a specific code, please give us a call! Our Support Team can be reached at 877.523.2120 option 6. We have every single ICD10 code built in, and would be happy to help you locate the codes you need. A lot of our users choose to create a custom panel of commonly used diagnosis codes to eliminate the need for searching, and increase efficiency while charting. There is a universal pain scale with rating 1-10 located in the Vital Signs module. I hope this is helpful! If you have further questions, our daily live Q&A webinars are an excellent resource and we¿d love to see you there.

Comments: I like the scheduling. I believe it can be improved in the tracking and patient retention department. The billing aspect is good. It definitely has too many buttons. It should be easy to build templates, but its not.

Pros: Practice management

Cons: No patient retention tools that I know of.

Recommendations to other buyers: Good system, would make several changes in the clinical portion.

Comments: My boss was looking for a new system to help with our billing for several different specialties and we had a software presentation for Meditouch which he loved and is still in talks of having this system for our company. However he was in an auto accident so that slowed the process up. Although everyone we have talked to has been really helpful and able to answer any questions that we have.

Pros: I likes the fact that its easy to put information into the program and that the clearinghouse is all in once.

Cons: I don't like that it was mainly compatible with apple more than android since a lot of our doctors are not familiar with apple products.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that it is something your office can use and understand easily many times older people will need more time to get use to the system

Comments: I have been a user of the Meditouch EHR system for over four years now. Although I have seen improvements happen slowly throughout the years, I still wish the EHR and Scheduling side worked better together. I also with you was able to see all the former encounters the patient has had, when scheduling a new appointment. This would allow for a more seamless workflow as well as cut down on the amount of errors that are made as to what the patient is coming in for. The scanning has improved tremendously, so that is a huge plus. Overall I am very comfortable using it because I have been a user for years now. I am hoping more improvements come over the next few months implementing suggestions our office has.

Pros: Scanning is great.

Cons: Scheduling doesn't allow us to view all the doctor's locations on one screen - each location comes up in a different column. It's confusing and tricky to view. EHR side and scheduling side work separately. Unable to view past encounters when making appointments, which would be very helpful to keep accuracy.

Great idea and a good base, but needs some work!

Comments: I had the pleasure of trying out MediTouch through a recent internship through a local doctor's office. They have had this system in use for about 2 years and I my experience the software is a good start. It has some great features and is not too confusing to use; however, it doesn't run smoothly and at times I found it lagging when trying to access records or to process/print certain reports. It is also a bit slow in responding to a request to pull out of one area to log into another. With any billing/coding being done the ERA service tends take a bit of time to load the EOB's and there overall is just a lot of little issues. I am hoping that in the near future MediTouch does some adjustments so clear those issues up. As I said, it is an overall great setup, just lacking in overall performance.

Pros: Ease of use, simple to learn.

Cons: Overall performance of the program and it's add on's are lacking.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would wait to purchase. Once MediTouch revamps the services/performance, then I would suggest giving this a go.

Comments: In 2015, I spent countless hours reviewing/sampling one EHR after another to find a good fit for what we needed/wanted in an EHR. We were moving from paper and wanted a cloud-based solution. As a dermatology office, we absolutely need the ability to document patient's skin findings on a diagram. HealthFusion was one of the few that gave this ability and even allowed us to upload our own images which we have designed for quick easy use. Most dermatologists will utilize a more derm-specific product such as Modernizing Medicine's EMA, PracticeStudio, etc, however, another criteria we wanted in our EHR was something that was truly platform-independent and browser-independent -- could work on a ChromeOS computer, a Mac, a Windows machine, Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, etc. Again, MediTouch's HealthFusion EHR & Practice Management product provided this capability while other derm-specific products did not and continue not to. We also do our billing in-house and wanted a robust billing product. MediTouch is their own clearinghouse which is a big benefit so when there are issues, we don't hear from our vendor "Oh it's a problem with the Clearinghouse", instead MediTouch customer service tells us "Oh we need to fix that". Customer service is overall very good - it is here in the United States (Pacific Coast which is our local time zone) and available relatively quickly. So why not five stars? Well, the EHR itself is not designed very well for a specialty-specific practice like ours so we went through a process of customizing it for our needs. We are happy that customization was available however it was a daunting and time consuming process. While the EHR system allows for some meaningful use and PQRS measures it does NOT collect data for specialty-specific measures so it's basically useless for our PQRS/MU/MACRA reporting needs. Which is very unfortunate and might force us to move to a derm-specific product.

Pros: Platform-independent (works on ChromeOS, MacOS, iOS, Android, etc.) Browser-independent (works in Chrome, Safari, Edge, Internet Explorer, Opera, etc) Cloud-based with no need for specific hardware/software in-house. Local to our time zone (Pacific) with U.S. based customer service Clearinghouse is in-house with the vendor Speed of operation - there have been moments when the cloud-based

Cons: Lack of specialty-specific Meaningful Use, PQRS, and MACRA measures Need for heavy customization for the purposes of documenting specific scenarios (specialty or otherwise) Extra components within standard documentation unnecessary for most specialties Integration of PM and EHR could be a bit better

Recommendations to other buyers: Whichever product you evaluate, ask for a demo login and try to document a sample patient visit and billing. Accept the fact that it will be difficult and counter-intuitive the first time you do it, but the process will help educate you on which product is easier to use. It will also help you realize exactly what kind of hardware/software you will need for that product. If a vendor says "Sure, but you need a specific computer with a specific piece of software" - make sure you understand those limitations and the embedded higher cost in obtaining such specific hardware/software configurations. Also, imagine what updates or upgrades will cost you in the future if the system you are looking at is so specific with its hardware/software requirements. A true cloud-based system that has complete independence from hardware/software allows you to lower your upfront and maintenance costs in the long run which can be much more savings than simply looking at the lowest monthly service cost.

Comments: I have used at least 5 different systems with hospitals and when I was employed by hospital and this remains my favorite. Less cumbersome than most other systems. More intuitive than most.

Pros: Portability and integration of the billing system. We often joke that the bill is submitted before the patient reaches their vehicle.

Cons: I don't like updates, which they were not done during the week.

Recommendations to other buyers: I probably have one of the smallest offices and I really like this system. Easy to teach new employees.

Comments: I have been using MediTouch EHR for almost 2 years and love it! There are so many nice features like Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances, faxing within the chart or EHR, and it does my billing to.

Pros: I can access my records from my IPad, my laptop, or any other device capable of getting on the Internet. It is not Windows based so I can use it with any operating system. Upgrades are automatic and come with a notice. I often find new ways to use the program.

Cons: There is a learning curve and there are some bugs in the practice management portion where accounts will show an outstanding insurance balance when there is none.

Recommendations to other buyers: Invest time in your learning and it will be worth it!

Comments: When I was searching for Medical Billing software for my doctor, I was told to try MediTouch. If we have any questions, they are always available and if I want to customize and reports, they are happy to assist. Than you MediTouch team.

Pros: I cannot say that I have any issues with the MediTouch software

Cons: Not easy function to print receipts/statement for patients if need to send for one DOS from the list.

Comments: Nice software, very colorful, easy to look at, however not as easy to use on I pad (and it is designed for iPads) - I keep going to my desktop to chart medical notes. I think there is too many clicking involved, looks easy when they demonstrate it, however when you start using it...too much you need to do. I have a very busy practice, so I need to write these notes on the go, I have previously used Epic, Allscripts and practice fusion, and I think that this program is nice but not saving me the time I thought it would. The least thing about it that I like is the fact I need to scroll a few times the page until I see the whole patient list, and it does not tell you the summary of how many its you have for th e AM and PM , right there on the first EHR page, at the patient list Things I like is that you can populate the program and build it up like blocks .

Pros: Things I like is that you can populate the program and build it up like blocks .

Cons: The least thing about it that I like is the fact I need to scroll a few times the page until I see the whole patient list, and it does not tell you the summary of how many its you have for th e AM and PM , right there on the first EHR page, at the patient list and too much clicking

Comments: We have explored many EHR/billing programs and have implemented a few, all with disappointing experiences (and loss of revenue!). We were skeptical of MediTouch because of our previous experiences, but remain to be thrilled with our decision. The software is incredibly customizable and comprehensive. The interface with the billing software is easy to use, generates helpful reports, and allows us to track all billing from start to finish.

Pros: Customizable, easy to use, great (and patient!) implementation team

Cons: We have found some minor quirks that have required trouble shooting, but nothing major.

Pros: The EMR portion of the program is very easy to use. You can access it from anywhere to work. I did my billing from the Bahamas one year. It makes meeting the meaningful use criteria very simple, and does most of the work for you, where other programs are much more difficult and too time consuming. The monthly price includes all updates and support, which is very reasonable. They have a great learning site and you can access the information on updates at anytime.

Cons: The billing portion of the system is not up to par if you live in New York State. It does not have a compatible NYS medicaid form, but will charge you if you want them to create one. It's secondary billing posting is awful if it is not able to be auto-posted, which is mostly because of New York State insurances. You have to manually look up in each account a secondary claim number you need to post it to the insurance payment, then go back into the posting module to actually post the payment. You have to create and send each claim individually to insurance companies, unless you want to pay more for them to create batch files. If customer support is not sure about something and they tell you they will get back to you, several occasions I never heard anything and had to repeatedly call back to find out the status.

Recommendations to other buyers: I feel unless you can afford to pay for the extra's for the billing portion, it is definitely suitable for small practices only. Be careful to make sure they have the medicaid claim forms for your state available. I have to do mine by hand.

Pros: Explained software well, answered all questions at demo. Nice follow-up without being hounded. Good support. Intuitive program that is logically arranged so easy to figure out.

Cons: Didn't meet all my needs, but none do. Had to be adamant about what I wanted to see on the demo vs what the demonstrator wanted.

Recommendations to other buyers: Take your time in checking out the different programs and ask a lot of questions. Go back and ask again if you are unclear of different points. Ask the demonstrator to "highlight" those portions relative to you.

Pros: The customer service is phenomenal. Whenever I get lost or bogged down I can pick up the phone and ask anyone in customer service for help and they not only tell me how to fix my issue, but also stay on the phone and walk me through step by step if I need it.

Overall: Health Fusion has been such a major help in terms of so many tasks and responsibilities. From statements, to medical records, to money posting the system is set up in a way that makes a lot of sense.

Pros: I like that we were able to personalize the system with forms that we previously have used. Being able to now add in PDF editable forms is a plus. The system is easy to use for all levels of doctors and staff regardless of their computer knowledge. Meditouch is always updating the software and is on top of any and all changes to help us meet our goals for Meaningful Use.

Cons: 1. I would like the money posted by each user to be user specific. I know they NOW have batch posting where the user can print only their posting but everyone still sees the main payment posting history for the day, i.e. copays taken at check-in, balances paid by patients and insurance payments (which can be sizable) would all be on one screen for all users to see. 2. There is no customer support on the weekends when we have Saturday hours and many times if an update is done on a Friday night certain features have not worked causing work flow problems.

Recommendations to other buyers: Speak with other practices that use this system. Initial set up is done by the practice under the guidance of HealthFusion--it is not done by the vendor. (User set-up, fee schedules, calendar set up,etc.) This being said we did very well and went live within 3 weeks.

Recommendations to other buyers: Software is good all around, very easy to learn. Software is always up to date.

Pros: Very easy to use once the setup is done. Setup is customizable to your field which will take some time and effort, but the program can be used almost immediately.

Cons: Since it is Touchscreen based, sometimes the buttons seem too small

Overall: This program is easy to use, customizable, and the Engineers update it frequently. If there is a question about anything in the program, Customer Support is easy to contact and almost always find the solution rapidly.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you want to try it out, try to find someone in your field to demonstrate how they use it.

Pros: Started Meditouch EHR in 2015 after using a customized EHR since 1970s. Overall this past year a good product for the complexity of my medical office. Patients do like the interface and it is quite nice when I use my iPad Pro. Buttons are nice, clear. Search function is getting better.

Cons: I'm in a unique situation that Meditouch has never encountered. Because of my high complexity lab I have multiple billing lines for each type of bloodwork and Meditouch did not provide a solution. I have had to pay them for a lab interface but also had to purchase a LIS so our lab can communicate with the EHR just like commercial labs. Billing has been a nightmare for my office manager who did not used to spend hours finishing the day. We are a complex office with bloodwork but our per patient payment is much higher than a standard primary care practice. Patient portal isn't great and many patients complain. I miss my Programmer and having in house support but Meditouch is getting better. Training is not great and there is a lot of learning on the go. My new physician has had difficulty with it and I'm worried about Locums learning it. I wish there was a support group for all Meditouch users to share their concerns and HF has not really provided that. A lot of EMRs use a groupthink method for billing and it would be useful. I wish there was an east coast office but this issue has improved over the past year

Recommendations to other buyers: Would not recommend others. It is clear easy to use and not cluttered.

Pros: communicates with my billing company, but I could just fax a superbill just as easily. does insurance eligibility checks, does eRx (but is often difficult to find the pharmacy unless you know the exact zip code, sometimes doesn't find the pharmacy at all, like Safeway's)

Cons: Wow, there is so much not to like... Word searching for ICD10 codes, past medical history and problem lists returns hundreds of search items that have absolutely nothing to do with the words being searched. Also, if you enter the words out of the order in which they would appear, you will never find them. Social History is much more than whether a person drinks alcohol or smokes. There is no way to put in valuable details of a patient's social history and automatically include it in your notes. A lot gets lost by having to adhere to some stupid engineer's formatting. Same with past medical/surgical/obstetric histories-you cant add any valuable details to anything (like which knee was replaced and what happened after their concussion, etc). The charting is so useless that I have given up and gone back to paper charting. I start an encounter just to put my billing through. Health Maintenance: I can't enter that a patient refuses to do a colonoscopy or mammogram. All I can do is "disable" that patient from being counted for meaningful use. Poor formatting: while they tout being iPad friendly, each page has lots of unused space, so there is a lot of scrolling just to enter data or get to the save button (and if you don't press save, you lost it). More poor formatting: entering vitals->information is so spread out that it takes two screens to enter. AND peak flow is on the first screen while height and weight are on the second "additional information" screen. Which is more important? Also watch out for the backspace button, sometimes it works like you would expect, and other places you will get logged out and lose all of what you were doing.

Recommendations to other buyers: I'm still looking for a decent EHR that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. I don't think one yet exists because software engineers write the programs without really figuring out what is needed for good patient care. Then once their "platform" is established, they can't seem to go back and fix things to function better.

Comments: I have enjoyed using MediTouch EHR. It is very customizable and I am still finding ways to customize for my office and be more efficient. I enjoy it being web-based so I do not have to remote in anywhere and I have enjoyed adding the Siri dictation to some notes. The e-prescribing of controlled substances is awesome and many of my colleagues don't believe it exists because the either do not have an EHR or their EHR does not support it. Transitioning to ICD-10 was very smooth and I appreciate their customer service.

Pros: Customizable Optimized for iPad Web-Based Offers Practice Management

Cons: I don't want some default settings (like pre-printing my DEA number on all prescriptions). I would rather hand write it. Not as big of a deal now that I e-prescribe.

Pros: It's easy to use for most patients. The ability to customize coding groups and blueprints are helpful.

Cons: The trouble shooting when problems occur, or when questions need to be asked needs to improve. Waiting times on the phone are long, and sometimes seemingly simple issues require weeks to fix. These challenges can be disruptive to our patient flow.

Recommendations to other buyers: During the orientation phase, spend time practicing those things that you will use the most. As a clinician, it's best to have as much "real time" help before you actually implement the EHR into your clinical routine. Trying to learn and make changes in your EHR during a busy patient day is a challenge.

Cons: It took a while to learn the software due to it's awesome ability to customize forms and processes. However, once completed, it made using the software a breeze. The time saved was worth the time spent building a custom system.

Recommendations to other buyers: Know exactly what you want in an EHR system before you get started and make a list. Sit through as many demo's of the top recommended companies. Then make a short list and go from there.
