Tried other solutions and settled on Altaro VM Backup. Trial was free and it did everything I wanted it to do. Best of all was the cost. Check it out for yourself and I think you will be surprised.

Pros

Easy to set up and easy to manage. Best part was the low cost.

Cons

Cannot think of anything I don't like about it.

We can send a backup to an external location without huge settings.

Pros

It is easy to install and maintain. The GUI is very intuitive. Almost no errors during production.

Cons

In the earlier version we had a lot of errors during backup procedures. Since the new version it is almost zero.

Pros

This software is highly effecient. Its fast and has great deduplication rates.

Cons

The inability to backup physical servers and to tape.

Altaro is a breath of fresh air for us as an MSP. It's reliable, integrates with our RMM and PSA, and easy to use and understand.

Pros

It is designed for us as an MSP. It is easy to use and very reliable. Tech support is always helpful.

Cons

Lack of replication features for VMware. Inability to backup physical machines.

Super easy to use. Altaro support is absolutely the amazing. You can always get someone on the phone. However, you rarely have issues. This software just works! Pricing is best in the industry.

Cons

I've done several granular and VM restores using Altaro and it's very user friendly. When offering HyperV services to a customer, Altaro is usually our go-to backup solution.

Pros

Very easy to setup and begin taking backups, both on free version and paid.

Cons

Price point for paid versions is fairly high, especially if just needed for standalone VMs not in a cluster. Not having granular file restore on free version is unfortunate.

Altaro is extremely easy to use and configure. This is largely down to the logical graphical user interface design and of course the product it self. Backups and restores are a breeze.

Pros

\- The graphical user interface is extremely well designed, almost negating the need for documentation! Very clever design. - The cost of the product is competitively priced. - Feautures and functionality are on par with industry leaders. - Website is constantly updated with tips, help and guides. - Very clever instant chat support feature which can be accessed via the software it self.

Cons

There are no cons to mention, the software works as expected.

A standout amongst the best highlights is the straightforward methodology that is taken with the product. From establishment and first backup takes under 15 minutes, simple, it simply carries out the responsibility and it does it well.

Cons

The boot from backup restore usefulness is important - utilizing this we can bring back failed server back inside a moment, limiting downtime for the client. I hope Altaro would include support backup physical servers, direct restoration of SQL databases and SharePoint farms.

Local backups, remote (off-site) backups with restore and recovery from Altaro make for a great piece of reliable software.

Pros

The best part of Altaro VM Backup is the ability to backup virtual machines across VMware as well as Hyper-V. Our data center backups only have to rely on a single backup and recovery product for local and remote disaster recovery.

Cons

The only seemingly downside to Altaro is that the options and manageability aren't as granular as some of the higher priced options but this works very well for us.

Pros

Altaro is exceptionally simple to set up and arrange as it strolls you bit by bit through the way toward support up your virtual workers.

Cons

The off-site reinforcement alternatives could be improved both as far as accessible stockpiling areas (AWS, and so on) and simplicity of arrangement. It took us some time to sort it out and we needed to utilize Altaro backing to help en route. Nonetheless, when we got it set up and working it's been unshakable.

Pros

I was able to install and setup my first backup in less than 20 minutes. The UI is very intuitive and support has been stellar.

Cons

The only con I would say is that Altaro does not back up physical servers like Veeam can do. Other than that I don't have any issues with Altaro.

This software replace Symantec Backup, and works much faster and better than that program. The fact I had to use 2 offsite drives to have enough space with the old software, compared to being able to get all offsite backups on one drive with more granular settings is a great benefit. So far I love this software.

Pros

First it was the cost vs the functions you get. As a nonprofit, this software was just what we needed. I loved the easy setup, very intuitive. Especially setting up rotating offsite drives was much easier than other backup programs I have worked with. The dedupe and compression work great, making backups faster and less of a space hog. The reports are very informative too.

Cons

I have not had really anything to complain about yet. I have not used the sandbox or any higher functions yet, but granular restore was fine. Maybe the only thing I would like to see is a client that can work on the desktops for backing them up, like Veeam has. I did have one slight glitch in backups, but support quickly got me back running good.

We have been very pleased with the performance and are now looking at expanding our use of the product and taking advantage of cloud targets for backup storage.

Pros

The user interface is a very nice place from which to work. The integration with Hyper-V has been extremely reliable.

Cons

The software and interface can take some time to load up and get active. I suspect this is related to a number of background services that are required and it is not a major headache.

Because of the nature of it's function it has boosted the company's revenue.

Pros

It's cheap compared to some of it's competitors like Rubrik, the company I work for is a distributor for the product and has a lot of customers.

Cons

I have never heard ot attended to any complaints about the product just the process of invoicing and processing an order is time consuming
