Pros

The product has a clear layout and is easy to use. It is simple to navigate to the different sections as well as see any grades or announcements that have occurred. I like that it allows you to pin the most important classes you're focusing on. It also has a feature that reads announcements aloud to those who are visually impaired.

Cons

I do not receive notifications from Brightspace when grades are released or I have notifications/discussion responses. I wish there was a way to get these notifications so I don't have to check the website every day.

Pros

It was as similar as canvas but some features has more applicable here than the other platform. I used it when I work at UW-Whitewater.

Cons

It's not convenient as canvas is. If they add more features and easy to use for users, it would be great.

Pros

I used this program for some graduate courses. I enjoyed the ease if use in accessing my course and tracking course work and assignments. It's a well organized system for online courses.

Cons

It did not have great mobile functionality, hopefully that's improved.

It's a good experience! It's a very simple program that is good to use.

Pros

The software is very easy to use. Easy to access quizzes, assignments, grades, and track your progress. It's also very easy to see announcements and any work you need to get done.

Cons

Sometimes the site would be down if there was too much traffic but that rarely ever happened.

I find brightspace to be annoying sometimes mostly because of the way the website is set up. It could easily be improved to fix this.

It is a very complete and complex platform. Some universities with the appropiate IT department could be able to use it but if they have that department they will create their own platform.

Pros

The support, virtual events and advertising.

Cons

The IT support, video tutorials about features teacher or students use everyday. Features other platforms have very easy to implement.

I did not choose Brightspace because it has less features than NEOLMS and the price is a lot higher.

Because Blackboard was getting old, the licence is very expensive and no support.

I've have a wonderful experience with Brightspace and will continue to use it.

Pros

I love how everything is so easy to find. You can get announcements from your professor and have everything you need for your assignments all in the same place. They also have the app where I can do my assignments on my cell phone.

Cons

I love everything about it. There is nothing that I don't like about Brightspace. I haven't had any problems with it.

Used Brightspace software while enrolled in community college. I took online classes and Brightspace is the platform they used. Very user friendly !

Pros

I used Brightspace D2L while taking online college courses. Brightspace is very easy to use. I am older than the normal college student and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to use the software for online classes, but Brightspace is user friendly no matter you age.

Cons

I cannot think of one thing that I like least about Brightspace D2L. My experience has been above and beyond.

Overall my experience has been good. I just recently learned how to design courses for Brightspace. It was easy to pick up, and there was a surprising amount of depth to the system.

Pros

I like how straightforward all of the elements and tools are in Brightspace. When designing courses, everything is where you expect it to be. The way every tool is linked together is done in a way that makes sense. Although the platform is easy and simple to use, you can also get quite in-depth by designing custom elements with html, css, and javascript.

Cons

You are required to set the score for assignments in multiple places. It would be nice if there was a system in place to set them all at once, or to notify what the score should be out of to match the other instances.

I still love Brightspace. I find it easier than Moodle or Canvas. The experience is user friendly that even an older adult could use.

Pros

Brightspace makes my life easier as a student. Everything I need for my class is right there. It is very easy to navigate.

Cons

Sometimes when you need a book like Connect, it is difficult to load the book. Also logs you out after inactivity.

My experience has been good. I look forward to learning more about the capabilities of this new program. It seems promising!

Pros

Perhaps it is because we switched from Merlin's Blackboard Learning platform (which was terrible), but Brightspace has a much cleaner interface. The simplifying of certain aspects is also a plus, not to mention the ease of changing pages as a teacher instead of having to go into the actual coding.

Cons

Brightspace is new to me, so I am still sorting out some of the glitches and variations on the Blackboard Learn platform that we used to use.

This program takes a bit of time to get used to, but if you're patient then it is totally worth it!

Pros

It had a lot of features and everything was very organized. I liked that all my classes were covered and I could see it clearly from the home page.

Cons

It took a bit for me to now how to work the program. It was also a huge change from our previous program.

Pros

D2L is doing a great job of integrating modern technologies into their ILP (LMS). They are adding collaborative tools, video capturing tools, and multimedia interfaces very well. I've been an administrator of this LMS for about 3 years now and have been very impressed with the improvements each year.

Cons

It's hard to say. I guess with any technology, there are periodic problems. We felt like we were almost beta testers when we switched to 10.1, and we reported many bugs. I think also, the help desk folks are nice, but the turn-around time to get tickets resolved can linger onwards of a month or so.

I like that there is a list of the classes I take, and there is a chance to view the files of each class and submit assignments.

Cons

It's extremely inconvenient to use. (not only for the student but for the instructor as well). Especially at the beginning, it takes a lot of time to get used to it.

Pros

Some features are accessible and useful for working with students.

Cons

Some recent updates have made grading slower and more cumbersome, specifically the inability to move in dropbox from one student to the next without constant clicking and saving. We used to be able to grade a student, click "next" and it would save automatically. Also, downloading an entire section of students that are only sortable by some id number makes it very hard for me to go through quickly and grade them. I never use the dropbox/download upload all feature, so this is annoying.

Cons

I work with dual credit students and many of them find this software confusing. We often have to call customer support due to missing class work, etc.

Pros

I like the ease of use for instructors and for students. It eliminates paper shuffling back and forth. Students/instructors can see grades at any time, including current average. It makes my job so much easier.

Cons

Mass editing of all tools is not always available to me. There are really only minor adjustments that could be made. In the earlier version, I could examine the class as a whole to see if particular items had been viewed/accomplished. Now I have to do this on an individual basis and this proves to be time-consuming.

The interface for D2L is actually fairly easy to migrate and for that, I highly appreciate it.

Cons

The problem I feel with D2L is that many professors I take misinterpret certain features which lead to sometimes very confusing Classroom UI's that are difficult to navigate.
