Pros: I like that it looks like Facebook, and that is super easy for us moms to learn and use. I love that my kid's teachers are updating me daily about the progress of the kids, and the activities they have in the classroom.

Cons: It´s a little bit confusing while moving between the profiles of families and kids. Sometime I have a hard time find out where to look for the information.

Overall: I get to see my children progress, and get updates, information and even pictures directly form their teachers.

Pros: I haven't collected a piece of paper in 3 years. It grades many things for me and I can get feedback on how my students are doing. I continue to have access to everything in a course even after it has ended. Schoology is incredibly helpful in fixing problems, and asking for feedback. It merges seamlessly with my school's grade book program. It has allowed me to turn my traditional classroom into a flipped-mastery classroom that use standards based grading. Differentiating instruction and assignments is easy with this program.

Cons: There are still things I wish it could do that it can't... yet. They are still working on those things.

Overall: It has streamlined my classroom:
Assignments are in schoology, collected in schoology, graded in schoology, I used it to flip my classroom and organize what students do and when.
It has streamlined the work that I do to get ready for class:
I can easily collaborate with the teachers I work with, I can set up one class and copy to others, It helps me keep track of where my students are and what they are achieving.
I teach my students how to use the program to get more out of their own learning:
They can check on their level of mastery, rework old assignments and quizzes (when I let them), they can check their progress, see what is coming, and know what is expected of them just by opening the course.
3 years after beginning to use it, I don't know how I ever lived without it.

Schoology has streamlined my classroom!

Pros: I love that Schoology allows me to run my classroom from one location without having to direct students to a ton of different websites. I can link and embed pretty much everything and customize contents to fit my classroom style and procedures.

Cons: I wish I could access more features. My school's administration has been against purchasing the paid version, and although the free version is powerful, there are many things I would really love to use within the paid version.

Pros: The website is easy to use and very similar to a social media giant that we are all familiar with. It has significant flexibility within the software for a wide variety of uses by both teacher and students.

Cons: The app (for Android) is insufficient. Students are unable to see discussion forum type threads in the same way they are displayed on the website. Also, students are unable to see a teacher's comment on their submission, which is unacceptable.

Pros: I use this software for my seminary classes. For the most part everything g is pretty straightforward. Overall though I think it's great and will get easier to use over time.

Cons: Most of the time it's easy to navigate but every once in a while it takes a bit to figure out how to get to a specific page.

Pros: The first feature I like from Schoology is that wer were able to incorporate our Student Information System to Schoology. This allowed me to pull information that was already available instead of recreating users. Second, I was able to use a Single Sign On authentication with my users so they could use an existing account instead of having another set of credentials. Third, this has a Facebook feel which is great for users because most of them are already familiar with the facebook layout, which decreased the length of time it took for them to use the product.

Cons: Schoology has a lot features available for users to utilize. Unfortunately, a lot of these features take a lot of time to learn properly. Certain environments sometimes do not work properly.

Overall: Was an affordable LMS for my school.

Pros: It doesn't put a virus on my computer, so I guess it has that going for it, though that's not saying much.

Cons: It claims to be "like Facebook", but it is more like an awful, horrible Oracle platform designed for one-eyed accountants or something. It is not helpful to students, and it's even worse for parents.

Pros: Robust assessment creation feature allows random selection of questions from question banks, resulting in a unique assessment for every student. Layout looks familiar to students, so its use is intuitive to them. Scoring with a rubric is amazingly simple.

Cons: Sometimes drop-down menus overlap windows, making it difficult to complete tasks that require the use of both.

Pros: I love the addition of the discussion board feature. Requiring students to post prior to seeing other students' post makes it easier to ensure they are not summarizing/rewording someone else's post. This was something that several teachers at my school requested and Schoology was very quick to implement it.

Cons: I really have nothing negative to say about the software. Many teachers at our school had a real problem with handing over a copy of our drivers licenses to a company when we already had a full background check with our school during the hiring process. It felt like a violation of privacy.

Overall: As a former English teacher, it was so nice to have students be able to speak their voice in a setting they may not have been comfortable with prior to using Schoology. We were able to do many of the same discussions with our Bible students as well. It really helped in studying scripture passages.

Pros: Integration ability was really good. They sync with a large number of third parties and if there was a feature that they didn't have then they were most likely already working on getting it implemented. It was very easy for the IT Department to manage.

Cons: The support was not bad, but it could have been better. My only real complaint was that in the middle of the year there was a new requirement that tried to force all of our user's to email Schoology a copy of their drivers licenses or our data was going to be deleted. This was a few years ago when this happened because of a change in their privacy policy, but we are considering moving back to using Schoology as our LMS again.

Overall: The teachers really liked using it. Nobody really had any problems while we were using it.

Great LMS option for K-12 schools and post secondary as well. I flip my classes and it works great.

Pros: +Google Assignment App - this is a game changer for schools using Google and Chromebooks.
+Most open LMS - it integrates with more outside apps and programs.
+New interfaces on the way - a cleaner look for all and an elementary version of the interface.
+More question types coming for assessments including labeling.
+Options are available for assessment monitoring for schools and districts.

Cons: -I wish I could move and resize pop up editing boxes. I create complex and visual landing pages with hyperlinks for my students. I wish that box were able to be made bigger and many pop up boxes cover information on the page that would be helpful when working in the box.
-Settings and due dates for assessments are in two completely different places when creating them. One is in a tab in the content area, the other is in the creation "gear" menu. If both are not set correctly, your assessment will not work.

Overall: I use Schoology for almost all of my course work. I teach using the flipped classroom model and Schoology's platform allows me to share my lecture videos, conduct assessments of student knowledge and understanding, to give assignments, and to provide communication with students and parents. All of my content is available to my students through Schoology 24/7, I can make it available in a variety of ways, and I can make updates in real time. Recently, Schoology's introduction of the Google Assignment App has me excited about our switch to Chromebooks. This app allows you to attach a Google Doc (say a study guide) as part of an assignment. When students open the assignment the document is copied, renamed, and added to their Google Drive. No more students opening or copying a new version of the document each time they go back to the assignment instead of to the copy they made but didn't actually rename like the directions stated. The document is 'tied' to the assignment and updates no matter where they work on it from (inside the assignment or through their Google Drive.)

Still to come, a cleaner looking interface with differentiation for elementary students!

I use Schoology daily in my classroom and love it.

Comments: This product helps me create and save curriculum from for the future with ease. I love that!

Pros: Schoology is the principle tool for me to organize my class curriculum and communicate it to my students 24/7.

Cons: When I double click a line of text it automatically modifies the next line as well (irritating). The way to avoid this is to manually highlight up to the end of the last word instead of the double click option.

Pros: Easy to use, simple clean UI, they have an app, many options to import to quickly get started. Also, they have an API that is well documented.

Cons: There are annotation aspects for drawing on worksheets, what I do not like is there is two different version. One is really one looking and isn't really intuitive.

Overall: LMS helps teachers to give out virtual assignments and grade them easily. Export/Imports through software with API make integrating with other SIS systems quick and easy.

Pros: Schoology truly focuses their attention on personalized student learning. The features to set completion settings and afford students the opportunity to complete units/lessons/folders at their own pace is truly a game-changer. With that, it works perfectly when trying to gamify your classroom with the added benefit of included badges.

Cons: Navigation and ease of use require a little bit of time to play around and get comfortable with the program. So many added benefits and features are within other options. But once you figure them out (like embedding other apps into Schoology) they become the norm.

Overall: I love having used Schoology in the past when teaching HS English an gamifying my classroom. I now utilize Schoology for professional development purposes. This allows me to create and offer my teachers anytime, anywhere, self-paced learning modules.

Students first needed 1 place to go to see homework. Now the whole school communicates in 1 place.

Pros: Ease of use, continual upgrades, available both in web and app version, LTI compliant, robust grading features such as rubrics and customizable grading scales, mastery grading features...The App, in particular, is very easy to grade on, as it allows for easy inking on student submissions. It has also been used that students can submit work on their phones if their regular laptops are not working.

Cons: The calendar feature is relatively weak. It would be great if that were better able to connect and sync with Google calendar and Outlook.

Pros: Schoology is intuitive and it is ever-evolving. It is one of the only LMS's that will work for grades K-12.

Cons: I wish that they had an add on feature for it to be an SIS so it could be a total one stop shop. The gradebook will not fit into one screen. You must still scroll up and down and side to side.

Overall: We are a 1:1 district and this product gave us the capability to fully integrate our technology in a meaningful way that still focused on the curriculum.

Pros: Schoology is an easy to use LMS initially as a teacher and student. The best part is that there are so many added features and an amazing supportive community to help you customize and develop your courses even further. The customer service for Schoology is fantastic and the professional learning community in Schoology Educators is active and very helpful to anyone from a beginner to an advanced user. We did a side by side comparison between Schoology - Edmodo - Canvas and Google Classroom and our teachers and students completely supported our adoption of Schoology!

Cons: Some missing features include the ability to lock an entire folder and the ability to navigate quiz/tests more easily.

Overall: Schoology has transformed my teaching! I have been teaching for almost 18 years and I knew that I was basically teaching to the middle group of my students. I was not differentiating for the various learners in my class. The tools available in Schoology helped me to move my teaching from lecture based to a blended classroom approach. I now train teachers on a daily basis to transform their teaching using Schoology. The Schoology community is one of the most active, supportive groups I have ever encountered.

Pros: Great system for allowing a web-based system to allow for students/teachers/parents to stay connected. Students can submit their homework, tests and all assignments thru the system. Can allow for great group conversation amongst teachers and students. Parents can check grades and performance via site or application.

Cons: The ability to link accounts for staff members to their parent accounts doesn't work correctly with the application. Support can also be delayed response in getting questions answered.

Comments: I really like Schoology and have used it both as student and teacher over the past few years. The interfacing is great, I love the course formatting and functionality, and the ability you have to access individual units/lessons is fantastic. Generally speaking, the only breakdowns in functionality come with email or non email notifications, which quickly clog up and take some tedious time to sort out or filter. It's a small complaint for otherwise fantastic and very easy to use software. The ability for teachers to add assignments with deadlines, be it final drafts or check ins, is great and incredibly useful. The formatting for graded assignments is good, as students are able to compare drafts with graded projects, which I feel is a huge step up in how they perceive their grades and work flow.

Pros: -Ease of use
-Groups provide online PLNs
-Supportive client services
-Excellent BlendEd Platform
-Can align with CC or state standards
-Allows for competency-based grading (Mastery via Enterprise)
-Parent log in options (one log in for all of their kids)
-App works well on Mac and Android devices

Cons: -Can't create reoccurring events or assignments (yet)
-PowerSchool Pro and Schoology integration in beta only (Enterprise)

Overall: Moodle. Blackboard. Edmodo. Google Classroom. Each year of teaching seemed to bring with it another piecemeal LMS until we found Schoology! Schoology allows our teachers, students, admin and community to stay informed and connected. As a teacher, Schoology was easy to figure out due to its intuitive platform. I love the various features and app integrations that allow students to do much of their online learning within the platform avoiding third party site visits and lots of extra clicking. As an Enterprise user, I also appreciate the SIS integration with PowerSchool that automatically transfers student grades from Schoology. The group feature allows me to easily send updates about One-Act and Speech practice schedules or leave time reminders that can be routed to students' phones, and the groups also provide excellent PLNs for various topics. Admins have begun harnessing the power of online professional development modules via Schoology as well. Students enjoy the calendar view, which we have taught them to use like a planner and appreciate the quick feedback from assessments. Parents enjoy more transparency about what is going on at school and the media albums work great for capturing all of the awesome learning that needs to be recognized and celebrated. As a BlendEd Learning leader, Schoology is integral to day to day planning and organization.

I also appreciate that Schoology is very responsive to user issues and requests. Their Client Success team is there to answer questions and trouble shoot when you need them, and the product developers are always taking suggestions and creating new features to make the platform more user friendly for teachers and students.

Unlike previous platforms, Schoology is my one-stop shop that is here to stay! After four years of use, I couldn't imagine teaching without it!

Recommendations to other buyers: -Enterprise version is worth the cost for integration with SIS but free version works great too! -Pairs well with Notability app for paperless users

Pros: Most parts are pretty intuitive, but for slower learners, it can seem like a pretty big learning curve. Customer service is fantastic.

Cons: Cannot undo in gradebook, occasional glitches in gradebook-SIS sync that tech support is still working on.

Comments: In my 4th year of teaching, my school district made staff aware of Schoology. As someone who taught in a computer lab, the LMS was fairly easy to incorporate. I shared content with my neighbor and together we began building our course splitting the workload. The use of groups and groups resources was probably the best part of teaching that year. We easily shared assignments, quizzes, vocabulary etc...By the time we started the next school year, our course was completely built, with a few tweaks, given feedback we had literally planned the entire 1st semester in the first 2 days of in-service.

In addition with the integration of the content's vocabulary right into schoology (quizlet) we were able to manage our "bell ringers" which were study opportunities for students. Students quiz grades began to rise , and I observed positive study habits occurring. The instant feedback also helped with students. In addition my time spent grading was greatly reduced. I introduced rubrics which were very easy to use and share with my colleague.
Overall I believe Schoology to be a great resource for educators. Some things that set it apart from other LMSs:
PLC groups
Post questions or concerns and quickly hear from educators around the world.
Immediate Feedback for students
Save Collaborative ways for students to learn and engage
Built in App intergration
Shared resources & Public Resources

Some items that still need work:
Discussions between all courses instead of just sections
Portfolios/Media Albums : needs to be more interactive, more robust
More intuitive Grade book
Free Lockdown Browser

Pros: There is an instant comfort to using Schoology for students and teachers. Most things are very easy to find and within a couple uses, teachers begin to develop confidence with the program. As a teacher, I was easily able to teach myself (with some online guidance) how to accomplish what I needed. The range of options available for free is outstanding and the paid version just adds the icing to the cake!

Cons: There are times where it seems like I have to click a lot of buttons to execute something. There are some quirks (as there are with many programs) that don't seem 100% logical to me. With that said, Schoology is always willing to listen, things may not be fixed immediately but it is nice to know they are aware.

Overall: In my 7 years as a teacher, I was always looking for the latest and greatest tools. The one thing that never changed, was Schoology. They are constantly improving their product and updating to make it better. I used all the free features of Schoology with my students. We took all of our assessments via their platform. They submitted assignments, essays, and projects via the other software. I was able to easily attach rubrics to the work that students were creating. My favorite piece was the discussions. It allowed me to elicit responses from all students, not just the ones who were willing to raise their hands. I would often use the online discussions to facilitate a face to face discussion in class the next day. I was able to use the responses from the online portion to direct and call out specific responses that could further our in class discussion. Schoology is an all around great tool, if you are looking for an LMS, it would be a mistake not to consider Schoology.

In my current role, I provide more professional development support. I am working with teachers on their implementation of Schoology and other tools. Schoology allows me a way to deliver online courses to teachers and support them in their growth. It is a great experience for our teachers to use Schoology as a student, this gives them the perspective they need when it is time to work with their students. It also affords us the opportunity to show them some best practices of using an LMS. Schoology is a winner in every way, I wouldn't be where I am today without Schoology, and our teachers wouldn't be making the gains they are without the support of Schoology.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you are looking for an LMS you really need to consider Schoology. Take the time to really dive into it and you will be rewarded.

Pros: I enjoy the ease that students have when they are using Schoology. It allows students to instantly access everything for my classroom in one central location. At an elementary school, time is very important. My favorite aspect of Schoology is that I can have a list of websites, assignments, and tests all in one unit that students can access in one location. Students know as soon as they get to my class, they will be getting on Schoology.

Cons: I wish they had an automatic badge dispersal system when a student scores at least XX on an exam. As of now, if a student scores a high enough score, you have to go to the badges category to award them that badge.

Overall: Schoology has helped tremendously in our district where we have a technology rollout of one computer for every student. As a grade 3-5 computer teacher, it is an amazing tool that I can use where students can submit their work to me effortlessly. When they submit a word document, I can see a preview on my computer or use their mobile application. Schoology enables my 400 students to work at their own pace. If a student finishes an assignment early, they can easily move on to the next assignment.

With the ages that I have in class, students love receiving badges for completing missions in Schoology. In addition to the benefits for students, I am able to set up groups with colleagues so that we can communicate and share resources.

Comments: I use Schoology in all aspects of my classroom. I create and share resources with other teachers in my district. I share resources with my students. I use Schoology as our online discussion forum. I create assignments/quizzes/tests in Schoology to help with paper clutter. I use the audio function in Schoology to help differentiate assessments. I also use Schoology to keep track of my Relay for Life group at my school where I can share event dates, updates, and important messages. I love that Schoology can be used for teacher-led instruction, but also for students to learn, create, and publish their own work. Schoology is a great tool to use for collaboration as well as differentiation. Super easy to use, and the best part is that there are so many different ways to use Schoology from a Resource Hub for teachers, to a full blown online classroom.

Pros: Everything in my course is done through schoology - from course notes to blogs to paper submissions to grading with comments to class rosters and on and on. The interface in setting up the course is exceptionally easy and user friendly.

Cons: It is hard to get stuff set up so that students cannot use the 'Find' function to locate information on their open note quizzes and tests.

Recommendations to other buyers: Students find this program easy to use. It is also easy to make comments on students' papers, almost too easy. The learning curve to use this product is relatively quick.

Pros: Schoology is likable to other social media platforms, in the sense that its easy and familiar to use/navigate, but unique in its focus on education. I like that schedules, assignments, and grading are all easy to navigate.

Cons: I find uploading graphics/ videos aren't as simple as they could be. Schoology could also probably use a remodel soon as far as the overall look goes.

Recommendations to other buyers: If your course uses a lot of videos/ photos/ graphics, Schoology is a little impractical. It's strength lies in text/ written assignments, discussions, etc.

Pros: Schoology offers both a free and enterprise (paid) version. Our school of 600 has been using the free version for 3 years and it is still working great! In talking with a Schoology rep, they mentioned that 80% of the functionality of Schoology is available for free. After going through the Schoology Enterprise demo, I would agree. The main things the free version lacks is in the area of custom branding, administrative permissions, high level analytics, video conferencing, various integrations, and open APIs. Each of our instructors sets up their own course and students can log in and take our courses from anywhere they have Internet. We have used Schoology in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. The free iPhone, iPad, and Android apps works great.

Cons: The site occasionally cuts out due to maintenance and does not automatically refresh.

Recommendations to other buyers: I recommend evaluating different LMS's on the basis of four things: 1) faculty ease of use, 2) student engagement and ease of use, and 3) administrative permissions and analytic data, and 4) IT integrations with a student information system (SIS).

Comments: Schoology has forever changed how we teach children and adults in our school district. It is a leverage tool because it has the ability to multiply teacher talent, effort time and resources. Imagine not having to ever manually grade another quiz or test. Also imagine a learning environment where every student has an equal voice through the use of discussion threads. Finally, imagine the possibilities for learning anywhere, by anyone, at anytime. Now imagine Schoology in your school and in your children's life. Would you get excited if I had a magic box and asked you to put $1 into the box, shook it around for a bit, and you reached in and pulled the bill out and discovered it was a $20 bill? That's the type of leverage you can get with Schoology.

Comments: Schoology is an all encompassing learning management system (LMS) that allows teachers to expand the walls of the classroom beyond the school day. Students can easily log into their Schoology account and access class materials, watch embedded videos, practice skills, or respond to class discussions. Teachers can organize and create folders and build an entire course throughout the year. The interface has a social media look that can be appealing for students. However, students treat Schoology as a course and not Facebook. Restrictions can easily be enabled to ensure that student's post before they see other responses. The Schoology App works extremely well in a 1:1 iPad classroom. Students can easily add their Google Drive App and submit assignments from Google Drive directly to Schoology. Teachers have an easy toggle feature that allows them to score student work efficiently without opening new tabs for every student assignment. Rubrics can be easily created and directly attached to the assignment. Schoology does platform with Pearson, Powerschool, and many other online sources. Those services provided do cost money. Schoology is COPPA compliant and has signed the Student Privacy Pledge. Videos and tutorials are easily accessible, and the company is very responsive to questions and suggestions.

I was using another popular LMS but found that my students treated it like Facebook. When I switched to Schoology I found that the interface and the assignment feed are easier to manage and sort through. Students treat Schoology as a course and not another form of social media. They respond appropriately and use it as a resource for their learning. Building on-line quizzes take time, but students respond well to receiving the instant feedback. Aa a teacher, I find the assignment feature and uploading from Google Drive seamless. I've been able to leave feedback and not feel overwhelmed reading 100 essays submitted in Schoology. The hardest feature of Schoology is learning and discovering all of the bells and whistles it offers. I would recommend using Schoology with a team of teachers or a colleague. It's much easier to bounce ideas off of each other as you tinker with its features. Once you maneuver through the first weeks of Schoology you won't turn back. I left everything I created on my old LMS and have had no regrets. Schoology is ideal if your looking to go paperless as well.

Pros: As a vendor, Schoology is top notch. I feel like the crew there is an extension of my immediate work group. Everyone at Support, our Account Manager, and especially their PD team are friendly and professional. I follow many of them on Twitter and we share ideas and thoughts on the product. I'm thankful for their responsiveness and their authenticity about not being able to do everything at all times, but to hear all concerns and appropriately triage them for the product's future. The product is very clean and straightforward. I am a system administrator for our institution, so I am always poking around in the nitty gritty. I may be the sole user at our institution that uses as many aspects of Schoology as I do. From course level settings, to groups, to system wide, I am all over the product and I heartily give my approval. I can navigate through the product with ease and can easily lead others in doing the same. I support our faculty and students on using the product, so it's great to know when I point them to a feature that it will always look and operate the same. I might say that is the BEST part of the product: the uniformity. We previously used Moodle, and our setup was not uniform. Thankfully, Schoology is.

Cons: The product is young and still catered towards the K12 environment. The language, the features, and the community of users are primarily K12. While that's not a big deal, it can often make community events or new features irrelevant to the higher ed environment. The only other downside is that there are not many settings for students with special needs. It is often clunky to create workarounds to accommodate students who need more time in quizzes or struggle to access media content.

Recommendations to other buyers: Communicate, question, appreciate. I overcommunicate and it's well received. Schoology values email correspondence and timeliness, so I know that if I have a need or situation that I can email and expect a response. I've even, in a crisis, had the privilege of exchanging personal numbers with my previous Account Manager so that I could connect with him throughout the situation and get real time updates. As a result of that, our emergency was handled in less than 24 hours. As I communicate, I ask a lot of questions. About the future of the product, about how things work internally, about how to use Schoology to its greatest potential. All of my questions are graciously answered and respected. I am never turned away and get results. Lastly, I make sure to always tell them how much I appreciate the work they are doing! We are using their product for our institution. I know what it means to have my work appreciated, so I try to treat the vendor according to the Golden Rule. Following these three steps has made our relationship with Schoology really healthy and provided us a consistently professional and excellent experience.

Pros: We've used several vendors for our Learning Management System (LMS), and Schoology has the most user-friendly and intuitive interface. As a vendor, they are very responsive to the needs of their users, from teachers to students to parents. The parent communication portion is also much better than other LMS's we've used.

Cons: I think the calendar feature needs some updating. This is a relatively minor point and can be worked around, but I would like to see the ability to have a live ics feed imported into the existing calendars in Schoology as many districts or schools already have calendars in place that should be easier to integrate.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would recommend having users from varied experience levels and grade levels be included in the evaluation phase, if you are looking at a solution for multiple grade level bands that will be adopted readily by people with different levels of comfort using technology. In our case, we wanted a solution that could be readily adopted by all users and was flexible for different grade levels (K-12), so it was important to have those voices represented.

Comments: Very attractive initial user interface convinces beginning administrators and teachers and parents that Schoology looks great. Ecstatic user reviews are convincing as well...except those users all appear to be first-time users whose primary reference point is Facebook. Schoology is two years old, and is attempting to leapfrog older established systems; but it is quite immature yet, and struggling to keep up with the dramatic success of its marketing campaign. Like Facebook, Schoology seems to make it easy to send lots of e-mails to lots of people, though it is difficult to be very selective -- for example, it is fairly easy to send a message to all parents (who have signed up), but not to send the same message to both parents and students at the same time. Assignments allow audio and video input, but the marking engine is clumsy (such things are very difficult to program), and grade input is completely uncontrolled--I can enter 900 as a grade instead of 90, if my finger slips. The max grade value is not displayed while marking some assignments, so I need to remember...25? or 50? or 100? Quizzes offer random selection from question-banks, but do not display the source, so it is difficult to tell what questions have already been assigned, and questions are inflexible, once selected. Parents complain that navigation is confusing, as there is no location set for course assignments (this could be rectified by faculty procedures, but the system provides no set location). There are very few reports for administrators, and sysadmins claim to have little ability to change things. But it does look good, and response-time and uptime have been good (not perfect). The system appears to operate according to the new web-development method--keep developing, keep changing, and follow Facebook's lead. However, it is not...repeat not.. a mature LMS, though it is certainly prettier than moodle or canvas.

Pros: Still learning about it, but like that it keeps everything in one spot - assignments, updates, calendars, etc. Easy for communication to many students.

Cons: The learning process - no easy steps or outlines to help...like setting up tests. Big learning curve as to how to create them. And explanations are confusing. Easy step by step process would help for each type of question, etc.

Recommendations to other buyers: Practice as often as you can with the feature that you will use most, but get comfortable using all features as they are very important to evolve the teacher & make grading and feedback easier for a teacher.

Pros: What I like best about this LMS is three-fold. First, it is super mobile-friendly, and has an excellent app for all OS's. Second is that Schoology is intuitive. Our students and faculty have no problem learning and navigating the software. And third, the LMS is built for design! Our instructional designers can focus on working the the SMEs to design extraordinary courses and not ahve to work about being HTML experts. What I like best about the vendor is their high level of personalized service.

Cons: Its not really a "least," but Schoology was born in the K-12 world and functionality for higher ed is not as strong as it could be. But we have been thrilled with their responsiveness in incorporating our design suggestions.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you know what you want in an LMS. While Schoology is extremely flexible and intuitive, it is not a "one size fits all answer." Make sure you know what you are looking for. Fortunately they have a free version for teachers to create courses at no cost or obligation, so you can experiment and explore most of the functionality that is available to the enterprise version. They also have a great deal of support material on their website, so learning how to create courses is a snap!

Pros: I love the fact that I no longer have to hear the excuse, "I lost the assignment". I download all of the assignments on Schoology so students have access to their assignments. I occasionally put Links from Khan Academy on my Schoology pages so students and parents can review the concept we covered in class. Schoology is a great classroom tool!

Cons: I wish it was a little easier to get students signed up at the beginning of the school year. Sometimes it takes into October to fill in my class memberships.

Pros: Schoology is easy to use and access for students & teachers to keep track of class content and upcoming assignments. I also enjoy having a board where updates can be posted by the students or the teacher.

Cons: You are unable to un-enroll yourself from a class that you have accidentally signed up for or that you no longer want to be a part of. Pros: Schoology, even in the "free" iteration, allows for a wide range of communication with students and parents that contributes to a learning environment that demands self-regulation and ownership of one's own learning. Think Facebook for school, but with WAY more ways to share documents, submit assignments, and get notifications in the hands of students. It has entirely replaced my personal classroom website, and I'll never go back!

Cons: Nothing! For what we use it for, Schoology is ideal. Our entire district has mandated it for all teachers, and it has revolutionized how we teach.

Recommendations to other buyers: Learning the best ways to use Schoology in your classroom may take time. For example, I do not do any native grading in this LMS, but use it much like a teacher website. It is incredibly customizable though, so keep at it and your workflow in curricular preparations can be totally changed!

Pros: I like that this is a format that students can easily know how to use (it looks almost exactly like Facebook) and works as a place where they can go to access all course format (assignments, reminders like rehearsal and concert dates, etc.) I don't use it for grading, but I know that some teachers do and like that feature as well. You can install the app on your phone in order to easily communicate that way, too. It's a must-have for teachers in the age of technology. I've used other similar class sites (D2L, Blackboard) in the past, and this is by far the most accessible.

Cons: There isn't really anything I don't like. If something comes up, I will be sure to let you know.

Pros: The ability for students to access easily, view all their courses, and submit homework, discussions, and videos

Cons: There's not a whole lot - our biggest obstacle has been having the staff dedicate the time to making it fantastic for students. The platform is there, we need to use it better.

Recommendations to other buyers: Plan some purposeful time for training and adapting for staff.

Pros: I can keep track of everything in one place - grades, files, resources, assessments, and I can email message students within the system.

Cons: Sometimes Schoology doesn't work as fast as I do. What I mean by this is you can only enter so many things at a time before it overloads.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it - you will love how easy it is to use. Also the support they give you is timely and

Pros: That the software is very robust and connects to other resources like google drive and even imports blackboard tests

Cons: Parents get confused by the parent sign up, often signing up as students and joining classes

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you front load and create videos explaining AND make sure teachers know and do not send out their own course codes to parents which has happened at my school.

Pros: It is very user-friendly - anyone who has used social media recognizes the format.

Cons: For some reason, there has been a rash of random people joining my courses. There is a fix for this - to have people request access - but some kind of spam filter would be great. Also, students should be able to unenroll themselves from courses.

Recommendations to other buyers: Think holistically. Ask yourself, how would parents, students, other staff members see this product? What are compliments and complaints you have heard about it?

Best LMS Out There!

Comments: I use this system every day. My students are required to log in on a daily basis M-F. They have the option to work during the weekends, but are not required. There are so many options for teachers and students: assignments, tests/quizzes, discussions, videos, comments, likes, media albums, calendar, resources, question banks, student completion options, pictures, integration with Google Drive...and I use all of them. Last year, my students worked with me in a blended classroom environment and they enjoyed how easily it was on Schoology. This year, we are working on asynchronous units, and my students are loving it. They can work at their own pace and still get more individualized attention than they would without Schoology. I highly recommend it for any teacher who wants to take their classroom to the next level. Also, you get to go paperless!
Overall, I will say that this product, though not perfect, has made my work as a teacher much easier. I wanted to go paperless and I wanted a system that could easily organize my units. Schoology has folders to do that and resources to keep me and my students organized. It also has groups for all different subjects, which allows me to keep in the loop about new features and products that can benefit me and my classroom. There are elements that still could be updated, such as student annotation features or captioning on webinars for the Deaf, but the Schoology team has been very responsive and open to feedback and are always working to make changes, so I have no doubt that those features will appear soon.

Comprehensive LMS you can access anywhere, anytime, on any device.

Comments: Schoology is a virtual classroom and collaborative learning platform. Schoology can be used for all your classroom needs. You can use it as little or as much as you want. At a very basic level you can post assignment due dates for students. You can go a step further and post guidelines for the assignment. Take it even further and attach resources, videos and other support materials to the assignment. Create a test and have Schoology grade it for you. It is a great repository for all your materials, and you can easily share your materials with other Schoology users. You to post announcements and events. The gradebook is comprehensive and easy to use. You can track mastery of standards and differentiate assignments easily. If you are looking to "flip" your class, implement a blended learning model, or simply have a place to store resources, Schoology can do as little or as much as you want. Schoology is amazing! There is really nothing "bad" I can say about Schoology, other than you "may" get overwhelmed with all Schoology has to offer, but there are numerous tutorials available in the Schoology help center and on YouTube. You will not need any other management system. Schoology allows students to access class resources and materials, anywhere, anytime, as long as they have an internet connection. It gives teachers an area for communication and resource sharing. Schoology has it all.

Schoology is the best LMS out there!!

Comments: Pros:
+Seamless workflow (very easy to push content out, easy for students to submit completed work, user friendly "inking" & grading features for iPad & computer to send back out to students with comments/feedback/grades)
+Quick set up of courses or groups
+Easy to add members (they just have to enter the course/group code when they go to log in to create an account
+Multiple uses as a LMS, group communication platform, PLT calendar, place to share ideas, attach files and websites.
+Wonderful way to keep all of your course or group resources organized and archived
+Easy to copy a course from one semester or school year to a new one
+Courses can be linked so they can share assignments, resources and updates
+Course/group administrators for each course/group can manage members (add, drop, change passwords, etc.)

Cons:
-Some features only available in the enterprise version (that's what we use in my district)
-Students can create multiple accounts if they "forget" their username or password which can get messy for the tech dept.

I have been using Schoology with my high school students for 3 years and I love it!

Comments: Pros (There are many, but these are my favorite things about Schoology.)
Schoology's layout is clean and is easy to use. Since the layout is similar to Facebook, students learn to navigate the site very quickly.
It's great for differentiating instruction because you can easily individually assign materials to students or groups. You can also add images, audio, video, etc. to materials to reinforce or remediate.
A setting in Discussions requires students to post an original comment before seeing other members' comments, which makes it very difficult to copy other members' ideas.
Question Banks can be created for tests/quizzes. When importing questions into a test, there is an option of choosing a Random Question Set. Using this feature, each time students take the test, they will get different questions.
Assignments can be easily aligned to State, Common Core, etc. standards.
The Schoology community is very supportive and helpful and the Help Center responds very quickly to any questions.
There are numerous apps (Google Drive, Kahn Academy, Remind, Evernote, Dropbox, Youtube, etc.) that are integrated into Schoology.

Cons
The only thing that I've found that I don't like is that I can't schedule announcements and updates to display at a later date.
