Overall: 7Shifts has been a tremendous timesaver! We used to spend so much time transferring requests to our paper scheduling forms. Now we can just work directly in the app. Saves paper too! Our staff is incredibly happy we've made this technological leap. Takes some stress out of their already busy lives by being able to switch shifts online. It has also alleviated the issue of "misreading" their schedule. As managers, we love that we no longer have to hear that excuse. Ha ha! Managing overtime is incredibly easier on 7Shifts. Prior to the app, we relied on floor managers to make judgement calls regarding shift exchanges when senior managers weren't available. Labor considerations didn't get factored into decisions and we would run higher labor numbers. Now that fewer managers are part of the shift exchange decisions, we know that the appropriate factors are being implemented into the decision making. The floor managers appreciate not having the pressure of making a decision that could negatively impact a shift. Posting and editing schedules in real time also alleviates issues. We would have people switch shifts and then forget. Now it goes immediately into their schedule once approved. Confusion alleviated!!! We don't use the auto-fill option but find that manually scheduling is so much more efficient in the app than it was on paper. I also love that you accept requests for features/functions and compile them for consideration. The service has always been wonderfully friendly and fast. The tutorials are really helpful and well done. I can't say enough good things. Thank you for creating such a user friendly app. Makes our busy restaurant lives so much easier!

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a more basic tracking and scheduling software. If you are in need of in-depth reports, then this may not be for you. For our needs, it has been incredible!

Pros: It is easy to understand, set up and the customer service is extraordinary!

Cons: I wish there were more manager capabilities in the mobile app, but the app has improved already since it was first launched, so I imagine it will only get better.

Overall: I used to schedule my staff with an excel spreadsheet, screenshot and posted to a Facebook Forum. It was a madhouse trying to deal with shift swaps and reading the staff clockin/out cards to match their shifts. With a growing company this just wasn't gonna cut it anymore. 7shifts popped up in my personal Facebook feed and the rest is Kismet. The software has helped clean up so many of my payroll processes, allows my staff to switch shifts with only others of the same experience level or higher (so I ALWAYS have a manager on shift and not a hoard of brand new employees), helps my managers reach staff more easily, is so easy to understand that I haven't had to train the new staff on it and combined with the 7punches Clock-in/out software- I can relax knowing my staff can't clock in if they aren't on the schedule and my staff can breathe easily with the ability to calculate their paycheck in advance! The staff at 7shifts has always been extremely helpful and always welcoming for suggestions and updates. I can't imagine moving to any other system and am so glad I found it!

Recommendations to other buyers: Try to set up your account with future growth in mind. If you know you're opening a second location - set up the account with the second location. If your staff flex between departments the majority of the time, set up the calendars as a since department instead of 2 separate. Example: my concessions staff often do sales so instead of having to schedule them on a Concessions calendar AND a sales calendar, I created one single Concessions/Sales calendar. It makes scheduling the staff SO much easier. The staff still have their separate roles and can only shift swap within their role, but I can edit and view the overall schedule much easier.

Pros: No glitches ever (previous app we used glitched and made errors to employees' schedules)

Cons: There's a minimal international fee charged monthly for 7Shifts. But that's all!

Overall: I used to make schedules through Excel, and would have employees email time off requests and availability changes. This software makes everything so much easier. It is so easy to use - copy schedules from week to week, move around shifts, copy shifts, etc. This app made me like making the schedule!

It's also employee-friendly - they can give up and pick up shifts, and manager can approve them. They can communicate with each other through chat. Phone numbers and emails are available, so employees can easily contact each other.

Pros: Saves so much time over our old way of using an excel spreadsheet and having to keep track of paper time-off requests. Very easy to start using right away and great advanced features to use once you get into using the software! It was always a headache keeping track of vacation requests and changing availabilities - but now the computer flags them immediately. Employees feel more in control being able to electronically submit days-off requests and availability. Employees are easily able to see who's working or not in order to get their shifts covered/switched. Setting up shift templates and having the computer fill out the schedule according to employee availability is awesome. Employees being able to instantly see schedule and changes when they are made is great!

Cons: I'll never go back to excel for scheduling if that counts as a con?

Overall: I can't imagine going back to the old way of doing things! When I've had questions or suggestions the 7shifts team has been prompt to respond and follow up.

Pros: 7Shifts has a clean website that is easy to use when it is up. The best thing about the software was how it worked before they updated the system to be unusable and increased their prices by almost 600%.

Cons: 7Shifts' new tools are not thoughtful and don't work with other systems. They have overhauled their system and the new system consistently has issues that make the website and apps unusable. Additionally, the regular system crashes come as 7shifts went from a very reasonable a month depending on the size of your business, to $57 for what we were paying a month for previously. Poor support along with a "Sorry! You are SOL" way of doing business makes 7Shifts a must avoid. Every update from 7Shifts has also included problem after problem. While the system to sign up for their service never goes down, the apps and website are now regularly unusable.

Overall: This software previously helped us save time and implement clear communication. It now is unusable and has little to no benefit.

If they don't have what you're looking for, they will help you find it.

Pros: The number of features under the 7shifts umbrella is quite impressive when compared to their competitors. As a busy manager, it's very helpful to have one resource to do my scheduling, clock-ins and -outs, employee messaging, etc. Furthermore, if they don't have a feature I am looking for, their customer service chat is very helpful. I can be talking to a 7shifts representative in seconds about my ideas for easier use. I have even noticed that they have added a couple of these features.

Cons: We are a unique business, in that we are open 24/7. This service certainly functions well for us, with a few work arounds. However, it would be nice if they expanded their features to cater to different types of restaurants.

Overall: Before, we were using one service for our schedule-making, one for clocking employees in and out, one for payroll, etc., etc., etc. It's great to be able to simplify!

Pros: Ease of use by staff. They have no troubles giving away a shift or picking one up. Putting in their availability is a breeze. It's just not complicated or time consuming so my staff is actually using it!

Cons: Odd to me that I can respond to some things directly by responding to a notification email or text but other things I cannot. For instance, availability vs. a shift pick up.

Overall: We jumped into online scheduling three years ago with Hotschedules. Good concept but it didn't function as promised and no one could help you. NOT THE CASE with 7shifts!! This system does exactly what it says it will & they are consisting upgrading and making it better. They are on the other end of the phone when you have questions. They are open to your suggestions. They are helpful and nice!! Customer service means everything to me because it is what I do. My expectations are high and these guys deliver!! The functionality is fantastic. It is not too complicated, the reports aren't overkill, great organization of features and the staff loves it. It is easy for them to operate as well. The ap for their phone is free. Just awesome all around. It is definitely worth every penny!!!! Our restaurant is part of a group of four. They are all their own entity with different concepts, employees and managers. But we need to be able to work together still and 7shifts worked directly with us to make it work for us.

Recommendations to other buyers: Notifications; there are too many. I would like to be able to see it just on my phone or just in my email.

Better than its competitors. The most user friendly scheduling software you will find. Saves TIME!

Pros: It takes the excuse-making out of the scheduling process by keeping the schedule makers organized, informed, and on top of everything. Employee involvement makes the schedule maker's job much easier as well. The user friendliness is far superior to any other software. The iPhone/Android app is seamless and takes only a few minutes to grasp in its entirety. Lastly, if/when we have an issue to resolve, the customer service reps do an outstanding job of being available, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Cons: Occasional bugs...but customer service embraces the reporting of any issues because they want the software to be as good as possible.

Overall: We used to use a MS Excel spreadsheet that calculated labor and flagged overtime. The problem was the ability to "Break" it by accidentally hitting the wrong key. Any schedule maker who wasn't a MS Excel wiz would then have trouble "Fixing" the schedule. This led to me vetting various scheduling software to find something more user friendly than MS Excel. We tried plenty of them, but 7Shifts stood head and shoulders above the rest.

Recommendations to other buyers: It will turn any average schedule maker into an ideal schedule maker. In addition, they spend less time making the schedule and more time with staff/customers. Value added time!

Overall: We are a fast-casual restaurant group with a dozen locations. We came across 7Shifts after failing to successfully work with a handful of other scheduling systems. researching scheduling software for our scheduling needs. Selecting the proper scheduling software for us is very crucial, as we rely heavily on such systems to efficiently utilize labor and to keep good records. On top of that, it is also very costly to switch systems if one fails to work out, so we wanted to be sure it works for us. We tested out 7Shifts with its trial offer, and gave it a run, and everything worked very intuitively. Jordan (CEO) was also very helpful to address our questions and needs, and works hard to make sure our concerns are addressed. The software has a clean, focused take on scheduling, especially for restaurant businesses, and works well for groups like ours with multiple locations. User interface for scheduling is very intuitive and easy to work with, and reports are readily available. 7Shifts knows how to focus on the essentials that matter instead of frills that the industry just don't need.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try it out and see how it works with their trial period to see how it will work for your business!

Pros: The best part about 7shifts is that any time I have a question, I write a quick message in the pop-up chat located in the bottom right corner, and someone gets back to me within a few minutes. This program easily tracks employees availability and vacations. It has some great key features, and is easy to use.

Cons: It would be great if when scheduling, you can view the day and have a simple button to view the next day. Instead, you have to close the pop-up window, and select the next day separately. Additionally, it would be better if there was a way to input start and end time by clicking and dragging instead of manually entering each start and end time.

Overall: We're happy with the main functions of 7shifts and overall it has simplified our scheduling process!

Comments: I run a 450 seat high volume seafood restaurant with up to 115 employees in the summer. Scheduling the various departments was a on average 4-5 hours of headache filled work as myself and my 3 assistant managers shared request from staff via text messages, Facebook posts, emails, & notes left on desk . It was an overwhelming headache. Schedules were built in excel, printed and posted in the restaurant. Staff members who were off that day would call the hostess or managers to find out there shifts during the dinner rush. I figured there had to be something better. After searching on line I found 7Shifts and gave it a try. The first week we ran 7shifts and the old excel system. Once the staff realized how easy it was to request off and switch shifts (With manager approval) we ditched the excel format completely.

Management: I have been the GM for 10 years. I can honestly say that this app has been one of the single best tools I have ever used. Selfishly I love the fact it saves me time. I am no longer coming into the building and finding out an employee called out and scrambling to find someone to cover at prep time. My managers and I can track the requests, call outs, and swaps to ensure we have appropriate staff for the evening. I wish I found this 10 years ago.

Save labor costs: We had been using Micros Labor Mgmt software but I personally feel that Micros needs to get their software out of the 90's and become more user friendly. Entering forecasting sales data is simple of 7shifts. Editing employee rates of pay and jobs is much faster than on Micros. We were able to avoid potential overtime by the 7shifts alerts when approving shifts being given away.

Employee satisfaction: Our staff was happy to be able to get immediate feedback on requested time off. Instant approval on covered shifts and immediate d notification of schedules. I have staff who have worked at major corporate chains and other independent restaurant. They all have said this makes their life easier.

I can not express how supportive I am of this App!

Pros: I love that you can make a schedule template for each role, it is a huge time saver to plug in all of the shifts.

Cons: For the mast part 7 shifts covers all of the basic needs. I just wish their were more features.

Overall: With using 7 shifts I am able to save so much time and have more efficient schedules. Not only are we able to make better schedules that fit our business and employee needs, we also have improved communication tremendously. Our company has 4 different locations, so being able to share employees and see when they are scheduled at other location really helps the communication process. That is something that we have always struggled with. Now we can send out daily announcements to let our employees know of any events or specials going on. We also have put the responsibility of covering shifts on the employees to get them covered and pick up shifts when needed without involving management. Also they do not have the excuse to say they do not know their schedule when the app makes everything easily available.

Pros: The concept of the scheduling software is fantastic. It's very user friendly. It saves so much time with managing the employees time off, shift changes etc. Anyone in the restaurant industry looking for a quick fix for making their schedules, this is it!

Cons: Have had some issues with the app. They keep updating it which is a plus! You should be able to not put in a time under events for all day events. It should not automatically default to 12am. Different Managers should be able to have their own default schedule that it automatically goes to.

Overall: Saves me time from using excel documents to post the schedule

Cons: Website can be a little slow and a bit hard to use for certain things.

Overall: 7Shifts has made our lives a lot easier. It has all the features we need and the mobile app is great for staff to use. A few nice things about it:

1) It automatically calculates labor cost (and % sales if you input sales)

2) You can send announcements to staff (directly to a person, position, location, etc.) and, like schedules, it goes to their email and phone via SMS

3) There's add-ons like a clock-in/out system (7punches) and Manager's log book that we think are really great

Overall it's does a good job of scheduling essentials. For example, letting staff know when they're working (text and email), collecting staff availabilities, allowing staff to trade shifts, dealing with time off requests and making sure you don't schedule during approved time off. It also tracks how much time each member of staff has taken off, which is nice to see.

Overall: 7Shifts has improved how we run our business. Most often a great product helps in solving one problem. This is one of those rare times when several problems are solved at the same time. Improving communication between our team where everyone can easily be in the know. Establishing consistency across our stores and saving time while doing that. Simplifying the payroll process and reducing labour cost. It is feature rich and easy to use. The numbers speak for themselves, and the cost of 7Shifts is easily paid from the savings in reduced labour cost. It's the savings in time that I love, not just for me, but how it is simplifying the lives of both management and staff.

Recommendations to other buyers: Work with the vendor to get the most out of the software, but to make sure it is set up best your needs.

Pros: I really enjoyed 7shifts for me company. We had just under 20 employees not having a time shift scheduler like this would take hours. My favorite features is being able to see what our company is estimated to spend on payroll. Also project sales and needed labor times from past sales.

Cons: I wish it was a little easier for employees to use the app on their phone. Several of my employees had issues.

Overall: Overall the program is a must for any business owner.

Pros: I love the convince of the app, and the separation of roles and employee lists when creating schedules (love the new update where I can move employees around in scheduling view).

Cons: A better way to rotate shifts would be nice

Overall: 7 shifts is great to use! It was easy to learn, if I have questions all I need to do is email support and I get a response immediately 99% of the time! Our staff love the ease of use with this application, they are able to see their shifts, submit time off, and swap shifts with coworkers! 7shifts is constantly updating their app and actually using their customers suggestions! Highly recommended!!!!

Cons: *customer service offline- not helpful. Poor responses and long response times

*server down for over 4 hours and no real reason why on it took them so long to realize it was down

*print functions are horrible

*you pay for better package but you canNOT see the sections you now have access to (which I paid for!) Ridiculous you can't see it on a printable version or for each employee. Only a manager can see it

*glitches in posting in manager log on phone versus online. Since they couldn't replicate the error, they can't fix it. Lame... I sent pictures as proof, yet they can't figure out their programming issue?

*They need to fix a plethora of issues. I can't remember them all off the top of my head

Comments: I am a District Manager of 6 Retail Stores in Louisiana and have been using 7Shifts for about 9 months now. This software has not only made employee's (Store Level/Home Office) breathe easier with time off requests, schedules and availability changes... but the Leaders in the stores could not schedule any other way!!!!

PRO'S (EVERYTHING :) )

-Again, I am constantly on the road... or we are opening a new store every few months, and the guys at 7SHIFTS are my heros... the level of customer care they have, is mind blowing. ANYTHING I need there help with regarding the software, immediately they are helping me.

-They take time with you on every aspect of the software on how to be more efficient with scheduling. Manager Log Book/Templates for the perfect schedule are my two favorite features.

-Managers spend less time scheduling and save more money by not killing the enviorment with all the paper they used for "Time Off Requests Forms" "Schedules" "Notes For the Staff" ... because communication is done all on the app.

-We require the leaders in our buildings to communicate at the end of every shift using the manager log book "Stellar Status Staff" "Needs Improvement Staff" "Customer Complaints" are the titles of the logs... so everyday we know who is the top performer of the day...who is not so great for that day... and any customer issues that happened for that day. It keeps everyone in the loop on WHAT IS GOING ON IN YOUR STORES! I JUST LOVE IT

-I honestly have none. Everything I would have listed as a con, was simply because I didn't understand a certain feature with notifications, and again.... the guys at 7shifts actually answer your questions.... so I have no complaints at all!!

Pros: Setup was simple, customer service was excellent all the way through the process and continues to be helpful! The ability to read reports and easily get data on a daily basis really has helped with making smart business decisions.

Cons: Ability to post schedule from the app or a managers app would be helpful.

Overall: Overall, it has made our scheduling much easier and intuitive to use. Our employees have much better access to the schedule and the ability to request time off and make changes.

Pros: Ease of use and the interface is great! Definitely help to streamline time for scheduling and management of staff

Cons: Some workflow management needs to improve eg. approval authorities and how different roles/ departments interacting with each other from a scheduling and approval perspective. Chat is great and has huge potential but right now is basic.

Overall: have been using this almost 1 year so far happy with the overall experience and keep learning new tricks.

Pros: Fairly easy app for employees to use. Fantastic customer service

Cons: Working with the actual scheduling calendar can require some patience

Overall: Whenever I have any question, Customer rep responds better and more quickly than most software companies. He listens and understands issues with scheduling since that is what he's done previously. 7Shifts isn't perfect but I can live with its short comings just because of their support.

Pros: It's a highly efficient use of our time and I can't imagine using anything else for scheduling

Cons: I wish the labor cost feature didn't require us to use 7Punches. Restaurant operators are not interested in multiple platforms, and most POS systems have a more useful clock in/out program.

Pros: I love how user friendly it is and the capability to send messages to specific groups. I also enjoy being able to pull up employees contact info and keep things separate from my personal phone.

Cons: Have had issues with the app specifically on Android phones in the past; also I wish the general "wall" would come back-- we don't like the messaging side bar as much (but that's not a deal breaker)

Overall: 7Shifts is more than just a scheduling manager-- it is also a great way to communicate with your employees/fellow staff members. The labor forecasting tool allows us to properly plan our labor budget. Messaging tools allow me to tell the staff about specials, ask for coverage, or alert them to new policies with ease. Everything is connected to your computer and to your phone as you wish.

Cons: A bit hard to navigate, for example, adjusting name heirarchy on the schedule seems like it would be in a different spot.

Overall: We have used 7 Shifts for at least a year now. It is expensive for a mom & pop but indispensable in this day and age. We did a lot of research trying to select the best scheduling program that gave us the most bang for our buck. We're happy with our choice. Sometimes it's a little tricky navigating to find the features you need but they're their. The support is outstanding. They listen to our suggestions and have made things happen just because we asked. Couldn't ask for more than that in a software company.

Pros: The efficiency, flexibility and accessibility it gives team members. It allows me to keep their schedules straight and make weekly shifts available from the comfort of my home or office at work.

Cons: I wish there was a way to easily refect on a team members previous shifts inside the current work week. I currently have to have previous print outs available to ensure I don't put a particular employee on 3 consecutive weekends while another might only be closing once every week. Some sort of feature like this would just help keep team members happy and feel fairly treated with the scheduling.

Overall: I've been a part of 7 shifts nation for 7+ months now. After piloting 5 different programs I settled in with them due to the fluidity of their software and app.

Pros: Scheduling can be such a pain in the Restaurant Industry, 7Shifts helps a great deal to make thing easier to communicate to employees, and to track from a management standpoint. Being able to delineate by shifts, various jobs inside the business and communicate that to employees is great. And that just scratches the surface of what 7shifts can do.

Pros: 7 Shifts has been awesome to use. Everything from scheduling, to shift changes to keeping the staff up to date on upcoming reservations, events and bands playing at the pub, it's all there. There is a lot of very useful features on the app, however it still maintains an efficient level of simplicity at the same time. I'm so happy that we made the switch in our scheduling routine to using 7Shifts. The amount of time and head-aches I have saved in the few short months we've been using 7Shifts has been incredible. I would recommend this program to anybody in the industry looking for a simple and easy-to-use method of scheduling that is beneficial to both management and employees. 15 years of doing the schedule the same way, we gave 7Shifts a try a few months ago and will never go back to the way we did things before.

Cons: Honestly, they're great. Can't say a bad thing. They're always progressing and making improvements.

Recommendations to other buyers: There are a few scheduling softwares out there focused on restaurants (HotSchedules/ScheduleFly), but we've found this to be the best in terms of bang for your buck.

Pros: I like the flexibility of the software.

Cons: I do not like that sometimes there are glitches and it takes a while to figure out the problem with tech support. (However, they do their best to get back to you and acknowledge your issue)

Overall: This software is helpful in tracking employee hours. It has saved me and my staffing manager time. We like the feature that adds the hours up at the end of the pay period. We like the ability to tag shifts with positions or staff that is in training. We like the shifts going directly to the employee phone. Over all it is a great product.

Pros: 7shifts has made scheduling and communicating two things that went smooth when dealing with all the issues that are common with new openings. Also, it has made a scheduling a task that went from taking hours to do to something that can be done in a fraction of the time. That's because the interface makes everyone's availability easy to access.

Cons: Copying to a new store schedule. However, for all I know they have already made this possible. They seem to always be trying to make things better.

Overall: I am a regional manager in a new market. We have opened 3 stores in 9 month period. 7shifts has made some of the challenging tasks easier.

Pros: It's easy to use, the price is right, it is way better than our old paper system, and it shares scheduling responsibility with the employees

Cons: Using the 7punches app on our time clock Android tablets can be quirky sometimes. Sometimes, it loses connection or doesn't save punches. Most of the time it works well, however.

Overall: way less time spent on scheduling than before. Also, it puts the impetus on the employees to take a more active role in their own scheduling. They feel more in charge and, as a result, more responsibility.

Overall: As we have grown from a 2 location business to a 5 location one, it is absolutely necessary for me to be able to see where everyone is throughout the week. 7Shifts allows me to move employees around to fill shifts easily & to keep a close eye on the number of hours they are working. It has helped keep overtime in check which is critical. Honestly, I couldn't do my job without this program.

Recommendations to other buyers: I wish there was an app just for those of us in admin. The regular app is great for everyone else, but doesn't really function for me. I wind up using the website on my phone, which is difficult to do.

Overall: I used to use good old fashioned paper scheduling until my search for a simpler way led me to 7shifts. It cuts hours off scheduling eash week by allowing me to make templates and compare driver and counter schedules on the same page. It has also cut back tremendously on no shows due to confusion on shifts. I tell every small business owner I know about 7shifts.

Overall: I have brought 7shifts into 2 of my work palces now and have been really happy with it. There are some slightly confusing parts like how the "Wall" stuff is now and I wish you were able to select who can see the Manager Log because I want my Lead's to have access to it as well as my Assistant and I. Other than that, they are great!

Pros: I loved the ease of use. Everything you need is all in one place, which makes it even faster to exchange or pick up shifts, check your schedule, and messaging coworkers. The app is simple and effective- definitely the best scheduling software i've used to date! The apps simplicity makes it hard to make mistakes, and if you do, actions can be undone quickly. I love that each position can be colour coded, and that your time sheets are right in the same app!

Cons: There isn't anything I can think of for cons!

Cons: Set up is confusing. Not a lot in the way of easy of use. BOH populates in front of FOH which is the primary function for all online scheduling tools. In my experience, BOH rarely uses mobile apps for scheduling.

Comments: I stumbled upon 7Shifts per chance browsing through various TouchBistro settings and after quickly looking at the website tried it out on a 14-day trial. After the first week of scheduling, I knew that I'd do anything to convince my boss to keep using 7Shifts. It takes the headache out of time off requests, availability and scheduling, by keeping everything in the same place and with an attractive and easy-to-use interface. Allowing employees to swap shifts, and submit requests on the go from the mobile app is also a huge plus. I love being able to manage everything from the app too. Employees are excited about the 21-st century style of scheduling and made the switch from e-mails and paper requests to 7Shifts very happily and without problems.

It's so handy to be able to just drag and drop shifts around with the scheduling tool, instead of copy-paste or even re-writing it. It calculates the total hours, so I can make sure everyone is getting the hours they want & need, and what their pay for that week will be. And the bonus features like labor costing tool are great for my boss and I to keep track of labour costs.

Anytime I've had a question, they've given replies within the same workday and have been great about actually using the telephone (shocking!) to call and see how we're liking the product. And the one time I found a bug, I let them know and it was fixed within the HOUR.

They're doing it right, these guys.

Comments: 7Shifts & 7Punches have streamlined our 4-restaurant business like we were never able to do before. Managing schedules is a breeze with availability and time off requests. Our staff loves the app and the ability to swap and trade shifts means my part in that process is minimal. The Manager Log has made communication amongst our top-level employees much easier and my inbox is much less cluttered with "reply all" messages. We have used a couple of different online scheduling tools and this by far is the best.

Pros: The communication of shift changes and alerts as well as the ease of doing the schedule with the drag and drop features, love the punch clock feature especially showing the schedule vs actual

Cons: editing punches half the staff you have to type in the time where as many the times appear as a drop down allowing you to edit with the mouse

Pros: How easy it is to make a schedule, features like weather and labor tracking are great. The manager log is very useful for our teams to communicate. The app is also very clean and organized and works very well.

Overall: Since using 7shifts our engagement with our teams has increased. We have also seen a major decrease in the time it takes to complete a schedule. The 7shifts team has been amazing to hear suggestions or provide support.

Cons: The I only con would be that when I have already started making a schedule but it has not been published yet, my staff aren't able to request time off or adjust their availability during those weeks. This was mainly an issue for December, as I wanted to get a head-start and plan the month, and my staff wanted to adjust their availability for exams.

Overall: 7shifts is so easy to use, and makes my life much much easier! My staff have learned to use it seamlessly and new staff are always so impressed that we use it!

Pros: I really enjoy they Accessibility to the schedule and picking up shifts. Messaging employees through the app has also cut out of the traffic through my personal phone is helpful!

Cons: I don't like that you Cannot "swap shifts" like just swapping one for another. I also wish you could sync your schedule to your calendar!

Overall: I have been using 7shifts for my retail store for over a year and have been very happy with it. It makes developing schedules and managing that process very easy. Staff and able to stay up to date and communicate availability easily. Much better than Excel and email!

What is lacking for me is a better way to track vacation and availability. 7shifts recognizes the difference but for salaried staff just because they are not available for a week doesn't mean they used seven vacation days. Having said that the 7shifts team has been very responsive to feedback and I'm sure they are working on a solution -- right guys!?

Pros: I like most the shift pool.

Cons: My least liked thing in the software is the inability to go the the manage employee tab on the mobile app.

Overall: Our bar is in a college town with over 40 employees and we receive tons of shift changes every week due to changing schedules. 7shifts helps me to stay organized with all the requests and changes. Prior to 7shifts it would take me 3 hours per week to make the schedules. Now I create the monthly schedule in 30 minutes and just moments a day to approve requests.

Recommendations to other buyers: We have two bars main bar and basement. I would like there to be a feature that allows us to seperate the two bars in schedules.

Pros: It is so easy to use, both from a managerial and employee perspective.

Cons: It doesn't sync with our pos ambur but otherwise we like everything about it.

Overall: Our schefuler spends 1/5 of the time on scheduling that she used to. Plus we use 7 punches so all of our payroll daya is right there. I love that you can see your labor costs daily. It has so many great features!

Pros: Accurately reports time when staff clock in; no mistakes noted on time sheets; we utilized the iPad app for clocking in at the store.

Cons: The only way to completely cancel your account is to call and speak to someone in person. Online cancellation is not enough to stop billing. Per customer rep, the billing software is unable to refund fees under any circumstances. This company charged me for months of unused services after I had cancelled online, but claims to be unable to refund.

Cons: The problems we have had over the past year with incorrect reporting. Several times, the data was not what it should have been (missing lunch breaks, issues with overtime, etc). This has cost us (on more than one occasion) several hours of payroll-day headaches and frustration while we tried to figure out the problem, which was an issue on 7shifts' end.

Overall: If you have tried to integrate software into a restaurant that is not particularly interested in using software, you will appreciate it when I say that even given this bias, I have had no difficulties bringing 7shifts to three unique operations. Recommendations to other buyers: To be blunt: If you are using a spreadsheet and managing time off with a written calendar or post-its, you are throwing away your time and therefore doing your job at a less-than-excellent rating.

Comments: We were a new business with a Restaurant and C-Store. Scheduling the labor for both businesses was taking all my time, plus having each employee verbally tell me when they need time off, school schedules, etc was driving me crazy, not to mention all the lost papers. With 7-shifts and the time off request and availability function, employees do the work. And with the shift pool function- it's even better. Properly trained employees can switch shifts with other employees using their smart phone with other employees and all I have to do as manager is approve. SO MUCH EASIER- I HAVE MY SANITY BACK.

My employees love it, and their is no excuse for missing a shift. Plus shift changes are a piece of cake- all I have to do is 'publish' the changes and the employee gets a txt. No more calls!

But the greatest management tool has been the weekly budget tool. With a new business, my labor cost were out of control. I can now look at the projected labor cost per day and week, and base on sales projection raise or lower the hours worked. With this function, I has literately saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars. It saved my business.

Cons: When you use the app the only thing that I don't like is that I can't see the month for time off. All you can see is the date sometimes it's very hard to decipher

Pros: Program is user friendly and has exceeded all my needs. It is more of my errors that hinder anything. The software has been great. When I have an issue because of something I did wrong, again, service is impeccable!

Cons: If I had to nitpick, I would say that when I or any of my managers "X" the window, it should automatically log them out. Or after no use for a set time, auto log them out.

Overall: Full visibility of what is happening in the restaurants at all times. Schedules, manager log book, requests for time off, availability changes... system shows you everything immediately. It's amazing!

Pros: The ability for staff to communicate via the messaging app and to swap shifts without making it convoluted for the manager.

Cons: The "Business Decline" and "Close" designation and the assumed time for these notes. Overall, I would like more open-ended options for hours.

Overall: Generally, I love this software! It makes checking shifts and schedules an ease in any situation. Whether I'm out or confirming another appointment, I can easily access my schedule to plan around. It's also a good platform to communicate with my fellow co-workers. It makes trading shifts easy and reliable!

Recommendations to other buyers: I also appreciate the chat boards/message threads between mangers to make communicating key information a lot easier.

Pros: the simplicity for both the employees and management

Cons: On occasion, I have been signed out and not able to access 7shifts on the app

Overall: Using 7Shifts for BOH management makes for smooth sailing. It gives me the ability to keep track of every staff members availability and time off requests. What can otherwise become a messy pile of scribbles on various pieces of paper is now right in front of me when it comes time to put my weekly schedule together. Running a kitchen and keeping track of your staff can keep one busy enough, aids like 7Shifts make the exterior duties much easier to handle. I can keep track of everyone's hours and project the weekly sales and identify how many hours of labour are necessary on a given day of work. It has definitely helped project our margins for profit and we will continue to use it.

Recommendations to other buyers: the more you utilize all aspects of 7Shifts the more you can appreciate it

Cons: HAVE NOT FOUND ANY AS YET. I FOUND PROBLEMS WITH THE OTHER PROGRAMS BUT NONE WITH 7SHIFTS.

Cons: Can't limit the amount of employee request offs. Would love to be able to put a max number request off for each day.

Overall: Helps erase time off scheduling employees. I have been using 7 shifts for a little over a year now and love it!

Pros: No glitches, easy to plug in data, many features. I can add an unlimited amount of employees and you can't beat the price. Phone app is excellent

Cons: None to speak of really. There is a little bit of confusion when there are multiple "open shifts" and multiple people claim the same one and the other is still available.

Pros: like that I can include events and notes - the staff like looking on line for schedule - I personally like that if someone cant work - I no longer have to spend time texting staff to cover - they put their shift up to bid on

Cons: sometimes hard to get back to where I need to be to eliminate old notes - never can find it! lol

trying to find a way to print the schedule so it is condensed but no job titles - my schedule is 2 pages now instead of 1 - like to not waste as much paper - just because I still print schedule to post

Pros: The is price right for what you get and it is fairly easy to use. I enjoyed the messaging aspect of it too.

Cons: You can't copy and paste shifts and it doesn't have a scheduler (at least my version), perhaps other version do. I would also like an integration with breadcrumb in order to enforce clock in times. It would be nice to have an rsvp system for when an event is announced such as training or a class

Pros: Makes scheduling easy.

Cons: Needs more integration with other systems. Some things could be more user-friendly. Eg. click employee name on schedule and it takes you to employee info rather than needing to use the employee's tab.

Overall: Great software, makes scheduling a breeze. Helps us manage labor costs more efficiently and serves as a platform to communicate with staff.

Pros: Covenience. It's easy to connect with my employees on a timely basis. I'm able to send out announcements, easily find their information and have all their requests and availability in one place.

Cons: The few glitches we've had, have screwed up our schedule when we sent it out which can cause chaos once it's posted. Other than those small issues, it's been pretty simple and easy to use

Overall: Scheduling, timely announcements to employees, manager log book is super helpful to keep track of daily restaurant happenings.

Comments: let's start at the beginning. I reviewed and trialed about 7 different apps before I decided on 7 Shifts. In every key area 7 Shifts meets or exceeds my expectations.

If you are a small, medium or large chain wanting to streamline your staff resource scheduling and planning look no further than the 7 Shifts app.

Let's just outline some of the important features of this neat app. Firstly it's very easy to use, very intuitive and minimal training required - we had the system up and running in no time. Secondly, there is great functionality; we can do everything we need with the basic system including, but not limited to time scheduling, resource planning and resource cost analysis. For more functionality, and at a small extra cost, you can to drill down into statistics get much more information for additional analyze of staff costs or to carry our future resource budgeting. Finally, 7 Shifts offer excellent customer support which rounds things off nicely.

So in summary, a great value app, packed wth useful features and backed up with a fast and professional support response.

Comments: Like Shiftplanning but much better and more catered to the restaurant industry.

Pros: -Easy install -Budget control -Log book to keep track of information -Cross platform use with Android and iOS

Cons: I have had multiple people misuse the comment "wall" feature, I personally think there should be a way to disable it.
