Comments: Great team to work with. They genuinely want to help our business succeed.

Pros: Integrates with our POS, saves us money on labor and has simplified scheduling across all of our locations.

Cons: I wish their support hours were extended so that we could get our questions answered a little more quickly.

Pros: It's been a couple years since I used this, but it's best feature is it's simplicity. We used it for all scheduling.

7Shifts went to a great platform for a good price to completely unusable and shockingly overpriced.

Pros: 7Shifts has a clean website that is easy to use when it is up. The best thing about the software was how it worked before they updated the system to be unusable and increased their prices by almost 600%.

Cons: 7Shifts' new tools are not thoughtful and don't work with other systems. They have overhauled their system and the new system consistently has issues that make the website and apps unusable. Additionally, the regular system crashes come as 7shifts went from a very reasonable a month depending on the size of your business, to $57 for what we were paying a month for previously. Poor support along with a "Sorry! You are SOL" way of doing business makes 7Shifts a must avoid. Every update from 7Shifts has also included problem after problem. While the system to sign up for their service never goes down, the apps and website are now regularly unusable.

Overall: This software previously helped us save time and implement clear communication. It now is unusable and has little to no benefit.

Comments: Like Shiftplanning but much better and more catered to the restaurant industry.

Pros: -Easy install -Budget control -Log book to keep track of information -Cross platform use with Android and iOS

Cons: I have had multiple people misuse the comment "wall" feature, I personally think there should be a way to disable it.

Comments: love the program, i use it as a classroom tool to teach time management and accountability to high school students, and they love it

Pros: app for program, ease of use for user, integrated with pos systems. great real time data, can print

Cons: was unable to figure out how to do multiple shift adjustments, would like to see more features for non profits

Pros: Easy to use. Costs less than most competitors. Staff uses it everyday to look at their schedules. Managers use it look at shift notes.

Cons: Not too much to say. Micros charges a monthly fee to integrate with 7Shifts. Aside from that, we haven't found too much to not like.

Overall: Ease of scheduling.

Pros: I love the app! Specifically the messaging portion. I can very easily message any of my employees privately or as a group.

Cons: They haven¿t integrated with my POS brink. I feel once this happens 7 shifts will be more useful for me than ever before.

Pros: I love that it allows employees to check their upcoming shifts, scheduled availability and time-off requests.

Cons: I think that the wall feature creates an opening for unprofessionalism. Employees can post anything on the wall.

Pros: It's easy to use, the price is right, it is way better than our old paper system, and it shares scheduling responsibility with the employees

Cons: Using the 7punches app on our time clock Android tablets can be quirky sometimes. Sometimes, it loses connection or doesn't save punches. Most of the time it works well, however.

Overall: way less time spent on scheduling than before. Also, it puts the impetus on the employees to take a more active role in their own scheduling. They feel more in charge and, as a result, more responsibility.

Pros: Being able to get it to my employees electronically.

Cons: I cannot show an employee in 2 different positions. ie If the cook and cashier, they can only be listed with one of the two groups, not both.

Pros: like that I can include events and notes - the staff like looking on line for schedule - I personally like that if someone cant work - I no longer have to spend time texting staff to cover - they put their shift up to bid on

Cons: sometimes hard to get back to where I need to be to eliminate old notes - never can find it! lol
trying to find a way to print the schedule so it is condensed but no job titles - my schedule is 2 pages now instead of 1 - like to not waste as much paper - just because I still print schedule to post

I love the ease of use when making schedules and keeping track of availability

Pros: Well Designed and simple to use. Each staff member is able to control their schedule in a much more efficient way, causing less errors.

Cons: Could to with a weekly view on the app for the administrator role to be able to see easier as they are often on the go when working with schedules.

Overall: Better staff and schedule management. would like to get more into the integrations and how to get the best out of that in terms of budgeting.

Pros: *Ability to modify manager log book sections.
*Roles / Time frames
*Ability to view schedule based on time frames to make sure there aren't any holes in the schedules (you won't miss filling a spot needed!)
*When customer service is live and can chat online, you get quick helpful responses

Cons: *customer service offline- not helpful. Poor responses and long response times
*server down for over 4 hours and no real reason why on it took them so long to realize it was down
*print functions are horrible
*you pay for better package but you canNOT see the sections you now have access to (which I paid for!) Ridiculous you can't see it on a printable version or for each employee. Only a manager can see it
*glitches in posting in manager log on phone versus online. Since they couldn't replicate the error, they can't fix it. Lame... I sent pictures as proof, yet they can't figure out their programming issue?
*They need to fix a plethora of issues. I can't remember them all off the top of my head

Overall: already posted in review

I small learning curve from my previous software but it is easy to navigate and self teach.

Pros: The shift Pool for employees is an easy tool to minimize my involvement in shift trades. I can simply choose to approve or deny.

Cons: I dont like the new update that changes the group order in which employees are listed for the scheduled week.

In regards to the way employees are listed, it sounds like you are viewing the schedule in the List by Role view, but you can change that easily by going to Layout at the top right of the schedule. Pros: Our employees find the access and communication tools to be fantastic.

I like building a schedule in as little as an hour, and then being able to communicate the schedule with my team prior to posting it.

The mobile app is really nice and easy to use.

Cons: I actually don't have much to complain about. I wish that the integration with Toast worked better, but it isn't bad.

Pros: The communication of shift changes and alerts as well as the ease of doing the schedule with the drag and drop features, love the punch clock feature especially showing the schedule vs actual

Cons: editing punches half the staff you have to type in the time where as many the times appear as a drop down allowing you to edit with the mouse

Overall: time savings, better communication with staff regarding their schedules, payroll management allowing us to see and save

Pros: The app. Other than that and it calculates labor dollars not much else I like about the program. To hard to use.

Cons: To hard to assign shifts and move them. Sometimes they float back to where the were. Also after making changes no need to save it just accepts all changes. In case you want to put back to normal you can't.

Pros: Program is user friendly and has exceeded all my needs. It is more of my errors that hinder anything. The software has been great. When I have an issue because of something I did wrong, again, service is impeccable!

Cons: If I had to nitpick, I would say that when I or any of my managers "X" the window, it should automatically log them out. Or after no use for a set time, auto log them out.

Overall: Full visibility of what is happening in the restaurants at all times. Schedules, manager log book, requests for time off, availability changes... system shows you everything immediately. It's amazing!

Pros: Ability of staff to trade shifts, give up shifts and request times off. Makes it a lot easier when filling in the names to fill a shift from template

Cons: Make it easier to print daily lineup and schedule. Too many clicks in order to bring up the PDF which then required additional clicks

Pros: The is price right for what you get and it is fairly easy to use. I enjoyed the messaging aspect of it too.

Cons: You can't copy and paste shifts and it doesn't have a scheduler (at least my version), perhaps other version do. I would also like an integration with breadcrumb in order to enforce clock in times. It would be nice to have an rsvp system for when an event is announced such as training or a class

Pros: No glitches, easy to plug in data, many features. I can add an unlimited amount of employees and you can't beat the price. Phone app is excellent

Cons: None to speak of really. There is a little bit of confusion when there are multiple "open shifts" and multiple people claim the same one and the other is still available.

Pros: Covenience. It's easy to connect with my employees on a timely basis. I'm able to send out announcements, easily find their information and have all their requests and availability in one place.

Cons: The few glitches we've had, have screwed up our schedule when we sent it out which can cause chaos once it's posted. Other than those small issues, it's been pretty simple and easy to use

Overall: Scheduling, timely announcements to employees, manager log book is super helpful to keep track of daily restaurant happenings.

Pros: The fact that all my employees are on the same page with the schedule, they have more control of there time.

Cons: I would love to see the employer side be more app based than online. I do like the new features in the app as well. Would also love to copy and paste times.

Pros: I really enjoy they Accessibility to the schedule and picking up shifts. Messaging employees through the app has also cut out of the traffic through my personal phone is helpful!

Cons: I don't like that you Cannot "swap shifts" like just swapping one for another. I also wish you could sync your schedule to your calendar!

Pros: The concept of the scheduling software is fantastic. It's very user friendly. It saves so much time with managing the employees time off, shift changes etc. Anyone in the restaurant industry looking for a quick fix for making their schedules, this is it!

Cons: Have had some issues with the app. They keep updating it which is a plus! You should be able to not put in a time under events for all day events. It should not automatically default to 12am. Different Managers should be able to have their own default schedule that it automatically goes to.

Overall: Saves me time from using excel documents to post the schedule

Pros: Accurately reports time when staff clock in; no mistakes noted on time sheets; we utilized the iPad app for clocking in at the store.

Cons: The only way to completely cancel your account is to call and speak to someone in person. Online cancellation is not enough to stop billing. Per customer rep, the billing software is unable to refund fees under any circumstances. This company charged me for months of unused services after I had cancelled online, but claims to be unable to refund.

Overall: 7Shifts has been a tremendous timesaver! We used to spend so much time transferring requests to our paper scheduling forms. Now we can just work directly in the app. Saves paper too! Our staff is incredibly happy we've made this technological leap. Takes some stress out of their already busy lives by being able to switch shifts online. It has also alleviated the issue of "misreading" their schedule. As managers, we love that we no longer have to hear that excuse. Ha ha! Managing overtime is incredibly easier on 7Shifts. Prior to the app, we relied on floor managers to make judgement calls regarding shift exchanges when senior managers weren't available. Labor considerations didn't get factored into decisions and we would run higher labor numbers. Now that fewer managers are part of the shift exchange decisions, we know that the appropriate factors are being implemented into the decision making. The floor managers appreciate not having the pressure of making a decision that could negatively impact a shift. Posting and editing schedules in real time also alleviates issues. We would have people switch shifts and then forget. Now it goes immediately into their schedule once approved. Confusion alleviated!!! We don't use the auto-fill option but find that manually scheduling is so much more efficient in the app than it was on paper. I also love that you accept requests for features/functions and compile them for consideration. The service has always been wonderfully friendly and fast. The tutorials are really helpful and well done. I can't say enough good things. Thank you for creating such a user friendly app. Makes our busy restaurant lives so much easier!

Recommendations to other buyers: It is a more basic tracking and scheduling software. If you are in need of in-depth reports, then this may not be for you. For our needs, it has been incredible!

Comments: We were a new business with a Restaurant and C-Store. Scheduling the labor for both businesses was taking all my time, plus having each employee verbally tell me when they need time off, school schedules, etc was driving me crazy, not to mention all the lost papers. With 7-shifts and the time off request and availability function, employees do the work. And with the shift pool function- it's even better. Properly trained employees can switch shifts with other employees using their smart phone with other employees and all I have to do as manager is approve. SO MUCH EASIER- I HAVE MY SANITY BACK.
My employees love it, and their is no excuse for missing a shift. Plus shift changes are a piece of cake- all I have to do is 'publish' the changes and the employee gets a txt. No more calls!
But the greatest management tool has been the weekly budget tool. With a new business, my labor cost were out of control. I can now look at the projected labor cost per day and week, and base on sales projection raise or lower the hours worked. With this function, I has literately saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars. It saved my business.

Overall: I used to use another kind of scheduling/communication app and it was 3 times the cost a month and actually didn't even have and app it was desktop only! Love this one!

Pros: Ease of use and reduction in time to make and complete schedules.

Overall: This application is a great time saver not only for managing schedules as a Manager, but also for ease of use by our employees. Scheduling used to take 3-4 days and now is streamlined into maybe a 3 hour task. Employees able to trade shifts, schedule time off requests, and enter availability due to school or other job makes assigning shifts effortless.

Overall: 7Shifts has improved how we run our business. Most often a great product helps in solving one problem. This is one of those rare times when several problems are solved at the same time. Improving communication between our team where everyone can easily be in the know. Establishing consistency across our stores and saving time while doing that. Simplifying the payroll process and reducing labour cost. It is feature rich and easy to use. The numbers speak for themselves, and the cost of 7Shifts is easily paid from the savings in reduced labour cost. It's the savings in time that I love, not just for me, but how it is simplifying the lives of both management and staff.

Recommendations to other buyers: Work with the vendor to get the most out of the software, but to make sure it is set up best your needs.

Pros: Fairly easy app for employees to use. Fantastic customer service

Cons: Working with the actual scheduling calendar can require some patience

Overall: Whenever I have any question, Customer rep responds better and more quickly than most software companies. He listens and understands issues with scheduling since that is what he's done previously. 7Shifts isn't perfect but I can live with its short comings just because of their support.

Comments: I have been using the product for the last 5 months. The lie and say they will get back to you on the weekends. I have called for support on many Friday afternoons and Saturdays and don't hear back until Monday. I suggested they change the language to say Mon-Friday support but they refuse and said they are going to hire someone to help at some point.

Overall: For the first 6 months of being open, we have been using 7shifts for all of our scheduling needs. It has saved us significant time and we are glad to be using it.

We are a coffee shop, so scheduling looks different than it would for a restaurant. We don't use all of the features, and Im sure there are features we could be using that I don't know about.

Recommendations to other buyers: It would be helpful if there was a way to mark our business as closed on specific days so that it would automatically not fill those days.

We currently have 5 restaurant locations with more on the way. This software is the PERFECT fit for our company and the fluidity that comes with hourly scheduling in the service industry. Comments: I was using another scheduling software and switched to 7shifts because it integrates which my POS system.
Perks- budgeting and costing payroll is easy. Sales come in from POS easily. I like the different areas for scheduling. Very easy to use and set up. I appreciate that it's a flat fee and the same price no matter how many employees.
Not as good- I wish I could see the whole schedule at once instead of just in departments. I wish I could see budget and sales in the app.

Comments: This is really great software. It significantly reduces management hours on dealing with schedule changes, time off requests, etc. We could never go back to paper scheduling again. This is one of the more reasonably priced options out there and the customer service is second to none. On more than one occasion, we asked them to add certain features or adjust functionality on their software, and they did just that. That kind of personalized customization is unheard of, and it's one of the reasons we really like these guys. They listen to you, they work with you, they don't rip you off with their pricing, and most importantly, their software is top notch.

Comments: This product is awesome! I love how it works with my CAKE point of sale system. The customer service has been nothing but awesome when I have questions. My employees love that they can check the schedule whenever and wherever they are from their phones. Comments: 7shifts is an incredibly intuitive software. Switching a large part-time staff over from pen and paper scheduling seemed a daunting task. However, once I started fiddling with 7shifts, everything started to fall into place! I schedule front of house staff at a large theater, and some weeks there are over 100 shifts to fill- all different time lengths, floors of the building, and required skill sets. 7shifts allows me to color code roles, assign levels of experience, and auto populate templates with everyone's availability. And the convenience of all the information and ability to switch shifts contained in an app is amazing. I'm loving this software so far.

Comments: let's start at the beginning. I reviewed and trialed about 7 different apps before I decided on 7 Shifts. In every key area 7 Shifts meets or exceeds my expectations.

If you are a small, medium or large chain wanting to streamline your staff resource scheduling and planning look no further than the 7 Shifts app.

Let's just outline some of the important features of this neat app. Firstly it's very easy to use, very intuitive and minimal training required - we had the system up and running in no time. Secondly, there is great functionality; we can do everything we need with the basic system including, but not limited to time scheduling, resource planning and resource cost analysis. For more functionality, and at a small extra cost, you can to drill down into statistics get much more information for additional analyze of staff costs or to carry our future resource budgeting. Finally, 7 Shifts offer excellent customer support which rounds things off nicely.

So in summary, a great value app, packed wth useful features and backed up with a fast and professional support response.

Comments: I did a trial of several scheduling softwares and 7Shifts was by far the easiest and most functional! My least favorite job (weekly schedules) is so much easier now. I work in a small retail shop with about 15 employees but it is worth every penny. Not only is making the schedules much easier and faster, but now all the time off requests are not such a headache. I no longer have employees leaving notes around the shop or texting/calling me for schedule requests and/or changes. Everything is now able to be done through the app. And I never have to deal with the employee who forgot to check his/her schedule and instead is contacting me or coworkers. It's all there on the app. No more excuses for "not knowing you were scheduled." And for the 1-2 employees without a smartphone I just enter their requests on the computer at work. Everyone loves it. In fact, I bet if I ever wanted to cancel (which I won't), my employees would probably be willing to pitch in $1-$2 a month for the convenience of having it!
You won't be disappointed!

Comments: I use 7shifts not only for my kitchen scheduling, but most importantly for my part-time catering event staff. Most of our event staff signs up for shifts based on their availability, 7shifts allow us to be much more flexible, increases the communication to staff about upcoming events and allows us to schedule weeks in advance. Comments: We haven't been using the software for very long, but it has already made our lives a LOT easier. Using prior schedules or saved templates makes multiple location scheduling a breeze. We keep finding new features to make the process more efficient. Track individual hours, track time off requests(and limit them to 1 week notice without mgr override), labor restrictions based on site or department. Really love this software. Once we fine tune the schedule, publishing notifies everyone scheduled immediately. Employees can offer a shift to he picked up, and the employee picking it up is added to the shift and held accountable. Scheduling changes once posted... All affected are notified. Phone apps mean everyone can see what they work(and who they're working with). Zero complaints to date, and customer service is quick to answer and walk us through features as we learn to do more.

Pros: Being able to view the schedule anywhere as long as you have your phone.

Cons: Can be difficult to find what you're looking for.

Overall: 7Shifts has made viewing schedules easy and accessible from just about anywhere. It also allows for employees to communicate with each other easier.

Comments: From day one 7shifts has been good and it keeps getting better. We now run three restaurants through it and the team at 7shifts developed it so that we can easily look at where our employees are scheduled at each location. Features are added regularly to keep improving the product. Very easy to use for both management and staff

Comments: I love everything about 7 shifts. I would highly recommend it to every business. I really love how on top of everything they are with all the new updates and fixes. Now that I have this software I cannot imagine life without it ever again. Sincerly, thank you.

Pros: Fix everyhing always up to date Quick easy No arguing it's all in writing

Cons: You end up fixing them all But,, My home page starts out a couple years ago instead of today?

Comments: I've researched countless scheduling apps and none come close to the 7 shifts app. The cost is relatively low compared to other programs for the number of employees included. Great ease of use without sacrifing many features. Very good customer service. Our staff is very happy utilizing the app and as an employer it has saved me tons of time and frustrations. My only concern with the app is the event calendar. I subscribe to one of the lower tiered packages and I really miss out on the event calendar. It is a feature I feel should be included in every paid package. All in all though a great app.

Pros: Ease of use. Labor tracking. Easy communication between team.

Cons: The I only con would be that when I have already started making a schedule but it has not been published yet, my staff aren't able to request time off or adjust their availability during those weeks. This was mainly an issue for December, as I wanted to get a head-start and plan the month, and my staff wanted to adjust their availability for exams.

Overall: 7shifts is so easy to use, and makes my life much much easier! My staff have learned to use it seamlessly and new staff are always so impressed that we use it!

Comments: 7shifts has been a great tool for scheduling employees. The ability to input sales projections gives us the ability to schedule more appropriately and make better decisions for our business. Love the feature to copy the previous weeks schedule! Easy to communicate with staff and empowered staff to view their schedule from anywhere via the internet or mobile app.

Comments: We've been using 7shifts for quite some time. We found it several years ago, before it focused on the restaurant scheduling. We've been using it since for scheduling working hours of our support team and our experience with them has been great. There are some features missing we'd like to have added, but since they focus on the restaurants and not software companies, there are really no chances for them to be introduced. However for the basic availability and working hours for the employees it's a good piece of software.

Comments: We use 7shifts at our restaurant and I cant imagine life without it. I love having all of my employees' contact info a press away without saving their numbers in my phone. I love how simple and intuitive the user interface is. Keep up the great work.

Comments: Wish it was easier for me to edit schedule from the iOS app but other than that and a lack of being able to sort the time sheets in app by anything other than last name, first name it's perfect. When I had issues they spent lots of time helping me get setup via the phone. They called me. None of that call tree press 1 wait 30 mins BS.

Pros: templates

Cons: Sometimes have trouble dragging shifts between slots on macbook

Overall: I used to use good old fashioned paper scheduling until my search for a simpler way led me to 7shifts. It cuts hours off scheduling eash week by allowing me to make templates and compare driver and counter schedules on the same page. It has also cut back tremendously on no shows due to confusion on shifts. I tell every small business owner I know about 7shifts.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would like employees be able to see everyone on the schedule without having to have that role and show up on the schedule.

Comments: As a manager of a cafe with 25+ staff, 7shifts is invaluable to my work. It makes scheduling, time off requests and employees busy lives so much simpler. It wouldn't want to do without it.

Comments: 7shifts is absolutely fantastic! Aside from the ease in writing and alerting staff to their schedule, there are several other features that make this software stand out for me. Namely, the ease with which we can communicate with staff and they can communicate with each other, the simplicity in getting shifts switched and covered, and the efficiency with which people can request time off and adjust their availability. On top of this all, the different ways to visualize everything make it that much better performing. Customer support is extremely responsive and flexible--they have more-or-less made dreams come true in altering and updating functions.

Comments: I'm really good at pinching pennies and for the amount you spend you get a great service. Other apps charge you by the employee and you are always counting heads. Not a worry with 7 shifts. Service plan just changes add on features. We like it a lot.

Overall: We own two quick service restaurants in the southern US and 7Shifts has been amazing! It is so simple to add employees, make schedule changes, approve requests, and generate new schedules. My employees love it because it they can use the app on their smartphones and never have to get on a computer. Overall, a great product that has saved us so much time and effort!
