### "Great, just needs some tweaks."

Scheduling mistakes! I used collect employees' schedules and manually enter them into an availability table that I made on Excel. Then I would refer to that table as I made the schedule. The issues arose when employees would text me their availability or time off requests; those were easy to lose track of. This software puts the responsibility of accurate availability on the employee, it's great!

Pros

It saves time by allowing the employees to add their own availability, request time off, and switch shifts with each other. This software is a huge help and has solved scheduling problems and prevented some mistakes.

Cons

It only prints a week at a time, there is no condensed version to get a monthly schedule printed. The month-long format that they do have is horribly unorganized & does not print well. This isn't a big issue, it just uses up more paper and space than our previous scheduling method. The absolute worst part about this software has to do with the roles that employees can be assigned: there is no "training" option under the roles that I created. This makes scheduling new employees very difficult. The work-around is tedious; remove their current roles, schedule them for the time they would train and write their role in the notes of that shift. This is inconvenient because it is difficult to track "unassigned" shifts. It would be great if there was a training option under each role so that when I run the report, I can track how many training shifts an employee has had.

Reason for choosing 7shifts

The format is better: the web layout is easy to use. The options are better: employees are able to switch shifts with each other. This helps with finding coverage.

### "All in one"

Great customer service, easy to use

Pros

We have been using 7Shifts little over 2 years now and it has been a great experience. User interface is very simple. It an app that apple would have build. Very basic but yet very powerful. If you are getting this app i highly recommend getting all packages. End of the day it saves you money and head ache. Advil pain killer is expensive and good for your body

Cons

I dont have any dislike so far in 2 years

### "Has all the tools you could need"

I get updates/push notifications from 7 shifts every week when my schedule is published, as well as updates from my managers and corporate offices. I also sometimes use it to make work life easier. Really glad to have this piece of software I thought I'd never use. Very good for the restaurant industry and hourly positions.

Pros

It's a really nice layout, it has thought of just about everything you could possibly need to use the software for. I have personally found it very useful for looking up the contact information of my coworkers and keeping track of request off time. For people like servers who constantly drop/add/trade shifts with other people, there is a useful feature to do that as well.

Cons

It logged me out when I changed phones, don't think that's necessary to protect information on this kind of app, but was easy to recover password. Overall a very minor con.

### "7shifts, not just for scheduling"

I have found that using 7shifts significantly decreases the number of errors surrounding scheduling and requested time off which is priceless in a labor market like this. furthermore, the time and energy spent on writing the schedule is much lower than when we used a homemade spreadsheet.

Pros

7shifts makes scheduling easy with a copy to next week feature that allows scheduler to mimic previous weeks schedules. the repeating schedule feature makes scheduling kinder - allowing staff to set a weekly schedule of availability. the chat and announcements feature lets communication flow without messier emails and texts. the app-based time off submissions really simplify and streamline a formerly archaic system that was easy to screw up with paper notes, emails, calendars, notebooks. the shift pool empowers staff to make last minute changes to their schedules or pick up extra work.

Cons

there's a lot of neat features that you have to pay extra for like an events calendar and labor to sales based scheduling.

### "Consider this management tool for your restaurant!"

I have been using 7shifts for more than four years, which has helped the restaurant improve. It was a good management tool for small companies, but it is also becoming a good one for larger restaurants.

Pros

7shifts is a really good management restaurant tool with an easy learning curve. I find this helps a lot with employees, especially in a restaurant environment where the hiring process happens often. It is very easy to use, and the app's features are all you need to manage your business.

Cons

Messaging can be a little bit annoying sometimes. The whole messaging interface is very slow and seems left behind the rest of the app. I feel this should be adequately addressed since workers often use this method to contact their supervisors.

### "Great for more than just scheduling "

7shifts is great for not just scheduling, but also being able to communicate with everyone at the company! A few employees don't have active phone numbers and rely solely on messaging through the app. It makes it so much easier for all of us to keep everyone updated on any and everything related to work, not just their shifts scheduled.

Pros

Being able to sync my 7dhifts calendar with my Google calendar, Apple calendar or whichever devices calendar I already use is absolutely critical for me. I am very forgetful so everything goes into my calendar to remind me with an alarm. And not having to check multiple apps for different schedules is so convenient.

Cons

The main thing I do not like is all of the notifications I get via push and email notification.

Having all communication in one place, all three schedules in one place, and being able to add people super easily, are all reasons we can will continue to use seven shifts.

Pros

We have been using 7shifts from when our team was 10 people to now well over 50. We have 3 different schedules running, and handle all communication through 7shifts. It is so easy to add someone, and so easy to use we have yet to have to actually show someone how to use it! We love the product.

Cons

I wish that it was a little easier to do actual scheduling from the app rather than having to do it all online

Labor - great way to manage it.

Pros

The ease of scheduling, projecting and reconciling labor are the most useful components on the software. The messaging and employee database are great ways to stay connected with your teams. Lots of small features that really boost the user experience.

Cons

The mobile app isn’t as robust as the desktop version. I wish the mobile app had more functionality.

I really love 7shift, i think it is an extremely easy software to navigate and easily understand when I am working, how much I've made, and if I want to change shifts. I've worked in restaurants where it wasn't nearly as feasible to do any of the above, as the schedule was posted on a piece of paper in house and was difficult to read. In terms of shift coverage it was even worse. 7Shift solves this problem and alleviates the massive headache you get as a server trying to navigate or change your schedule

Pros

I absolutely adore the systems in place in 7shift. It is extremely easy to see your upcoming schedule of work, bid or give up a shift, see who you're working with, and to submit time off requests.

Cons

I would say that I'd like easier access to always seeing whos working each day even if I am not. This may already be a feature im not using, but using an auto sync for your calendar would be really nice as well.

### "7Shifts and More?"

The team loved 7shifts since it was so user friendly and easy to access from PC or mobile. Unfortunately, forecasting is obviously a big issue when it comes to scheduling so we moved on.

Pros

I liked the messaging platform it had for teams. I enjoyed the ease of seeing team member roles. I liked the ease of seeing the daily line up of teams in different departments. I enjoyed being able to flag attendance within the app and reports generated from that.

Cons

I did not like third party app integrations that users would be automatically opted into. Forecasting was a bit clunky also unfortunately.

Overall, our staff love the product and so do the owners. Can be expensive, but if you leverage the benefit of having 7shifts, it pays off over time.

Pros

How quickly we can make a schedule and keep most of our HR related tasks in one place. Our staff love it.

Cons

Support for getting the most out of the software could be a bit more. Tasks and budgeting could be explained a bit more for us to utilize the most of the software.

Scheduling with 7Shifts is a breeze. It is well designed and functions. This in itself is all I need from my scheduling app to have a good experience while doing a task that can very easily become tedious. 7Shifts makes scheduling for us a fun task.

Pros

While 7Shifts was the first and original scheduling app we tested, we did try 2-3 others. But we kept coming back to 7Shifts. At the center of this decision was the ease of use, and nice design that allowed for easier scheduling. A scheduling app has to do that and work for us. Without this ease of use scheduling can be a a tedious task. 7Shifts makes this a breeze.

Cons

I think 7Shifts has a very good core product (scheduling). And I only wish we had more time to test other features. But that is more on us, than the app. The one feature I wish we had back, as an administrator I wish I had the ability to quickly help employees with their password management. Resetting the passwords used to be easy some years back, whereas the admin was able to set-up a password for the end-user. That feature went away some years back.

I've really enjoyed using this app. Out of all the apps we use for running our restaurant it is the one I've never had an issue with. Easy to use and our staff really enjoy it as well. Also easy to navigate from desktop to app.

Pros

7 shifts make scheduling super easy! As a small restaurant with a small team I enjoy the template function that they have for you to use when scheduling week to week. It allows you to use the same schedule from the week before (or any week) to use for that weeks schedule. We have set schedules so this works well for us and makes scheduling super easy! Additionally the announcements and direct messaging features of 7shifts allows us to get important information to our team quickly.

Cons

Sometimes it feels like the interface is a little busy for my liking but other than that I haven't had any issues with the app.
