Overall, I've found SiteMinder to be a real game-changer in managing Rainbow Tourism Group hotels' online distribution. It truly lives up to its promise of making things simple – the user interface is incredibly easy to navigate, and setting up new channels, mapping rates, and managing inventory is about as straightforward as it gets. Plus, the insights it offers have definitely helped us optimize our performance. The fact that I can efficiently manage over 900 rooms across my 7 hotels through one platform is a testament to its power. However, I do have a couple of key points to consider. The subscription costs can be quite hefty, and I can see how this could be a significant hurdle for smaller properties. Also, a bit of a frustration with the new upgrade is the lack of a consolidated revenue report. Having to pull individual reports for each of my 7 hotels adds unnecessary time and effort when trying to get a holistic view of our performance. A unified report would be a huge improvement. On the bright side, I have to give a massive shoutout to SiteMinder's support team – they are incredibly responsive and always helpful. And their accounts department has been understanding and flexible when we've had occasional payment delays, which is really appreciated. So, my overall feeling is this: SiteMinder is a powerful and generally fantastic tool that has significantly simplified our channel management and offers great support. However, the cost can be a barrier for smaller players, and the current lack of a consolidated revenue report for multi-property users is a definite drawback. Get those two things sorted, and it would be pretty much perfect!

Exploring a usage-based pricing model, similar to how Demandplus calculates commissions, could make the platform more accessible and cost-effective for businesses with lower booking volumes. Furthermore, a notable drawback in the newly upgraded platform is the absence of a consolidated revenue report that provides an overview of all properties managed under a single account. For users overseeing multiple properties, like myself with 7 hotels and over 900 rooms, the lack of a unified revenue report necessitates generating individual reports for each property, significantly increasing the time and effort required for performance analysis and strategic decision-making. Implementing a comprehensive, consolidated revenue report would be a valuable enhancement for multi-property users.

The automation and connectivity are strong, and the system has become an essential part of our daily operations. While there’s room for improvement in reporting and training support, SiteMinder remains one of the most reliable tools we use.

Pros

I especially appreciate the seamless integration with our PMS and OTA partners. The centralized dashboard makes rate and inventory updates extremely efficient, saving us hours of manual work daily.

Cons

the system can lag during high-traffic periods, and the analytics dashboard could be more intuitive with deeper insights and visualizations. Additionally, the onboarding process was a bit overwhelming at first for junior staff.

Siteminder is a good platform until you have an issue. We have a current issue that originally occurred in July 2024 and was rectified. The issue appeared again in November 2024 and after the initial report to Siteminder in December we are still waiting after 2-1/2 months for a solution to a simple coding problem. We need to utilise our staff to manually do what the program should do automatically costing us time and money however Siteminder are still charging full invoice rate.

Pros

Reasonably efficient platform with good access.

Ease of use.

What I like most about SiteMinder is its seamless channel management system. ### "Powerful Rate Management, But MEWS Integration Falls Short"

We’ve been using SiteMinder primarily to manage our rates and availability across multiple OTAs, and in that area, it really shines. f you're not using MEWS, SiteMinder might be close to perfect. But if you are, be prepared for some manual workarounds.

Pros

The rate management tools are excellent—especially useful if you want to set different rates for different OTAs. It gives you great control and flexibility. The system handles room inventory brilliantly, automatically adjusting availability across channels to help avoid overbookings. The guest engagement features are quite strong, helping us maintain a more personalized relationship with our guests. The reporting and statistics are very easy to understand and actually helpful for decision-making.

Cons

The integration with MEWS PMS hasn’t met our expectations. Extra products sold on our booking engine don’t show up in MEWS as separate items. City tax is bundled into the rate instead of being separated, which complicates things. MEWS doesn’t receive rate updates from SiteMinder, so the integration isn’t truly two-way.

Easy to use and meets all expectations. Onboarding was good with knowlegable resources. Siteminder went the extra mile to assist us with onboarding with a distribution partner. Every time i have interacted with the support team it has been a pleasure.

Since the time we were 'live' I have found the platform very easy to use, I like the UI it is self explanatory and the sync to partners is nice and quick.

Cons

Haven't found any cons with the platform, granted we are fairly new to Siteminder but so far everything has been great :)

There are some incompatibilities to the Brazilian market, which limited our possibilities to the Siteminder partners, but it is a selfserviced channel manager with a good structure and amazing support.

The easy way of different types of settings for pricing, variations and additional rates.

The limited options of restrictions and the need of creating the properties anywhere and then connect, it is not so practical at all.

Absolutely terrible ! DO NOT use this platform

Pros

Helpful getting you set up and taking your money. After that NOTHING..

Cons

Everything, the customer service is terrible. They Will constantly pass you off and tell you it’s with the “relevant team “ The team never gets backs to. Messy unprofessional layouts. The worst is our account hasn’t been working for months and we can’t get bookings and we can’t cancel to get off their page platform. Will Cost your business thousands

### "DO NOT USE FOR HOLIDAY LETS : COWBOYS WITH CONTRACTS"

Sales person who tells you what you want to hear. This product doesnt work for holiday lets. And absolutely not as it states for 'Little' companies at all. Constantly told 'I will refer that to product development' - which has no answer or time scale to the problem and apparently zero guarantee of it being changed. 4 weeks of effort, I decide to cancel (within my 30 day trial) buy another product (which took 24 hours to install and set up) then I get a bill for £600 and a development person contacts me so I can help him understand the issues, wanting explanations screen shots etc (I have already sent this ).

Pros

The front desk is impressive if you had a small hotel. I was sold the product for a holiday let company, given a free trial and invoiced a full £600 because I made it live to test (the only way to test is to make it live).

Cons

This software is for a fledgling company, I run another company that turns over £20mill, I am not a stranger to software. The invoicing just doesn't work. The only option if you take a deposit is 'pay at property' . Also if you take payments yourself and not with their products - the invoice will not update the amounts correctly. All invoices were wrong in amount and direction to the customer how to pay. My communication emails to guests says 'Pay at property' - Support told me just write somewhere else on the email that they should ignore that and what they should really do.

Reason for choosing SiteMinder

Larger company - assumed the support would be better. I was wrong. Bookalet is a superior product with superior support.

We apologise for the misunderstanding around your free period. The offer of a free period (not a trial period) was made to you for signing an annual contract. When you cancelled your subscription, you cancelled within your contract term and hence received a bill for set-up and cancellation fees, both of which we have refunded to you. Customers always have a choice to pay month to month. The offer was understandably more attractive for the annual contract. Nonetheless, we will do our utmost to ensure that all options are reinforced for every future customer. Our product team researches new enhancements and prioritises the features that have the greatest impact for our customers. We have taken into consideration all your feedback about the invoices. ### "Very user friendly."

Pros

We were looking for one product with which to manage our inventory for several different OTAs. This is what SiteMinder does beautifully. We are also able to offer unique specials on our own site by using Channel Manager as our booking engine.

Cons

The only criticism is minor. When using the calendar feature in the RESERVATIONS menu to jump to a specific date, after entering the start date, you must also go back to the last calender and page forward to the required finish date. For example, if it is Feb and you want to look at arrivals in August, after selecting the "From Date" of 08/01, the "To Date" does not automatically change to August, but remains in Feb until manually moved to August.
