Pros The program is easy to use, has excellent tutorials and has a wonderful 3D aspect Cons It is not as flexible as a CAD program. I sometimes felt that the Client view of the design were less professional as my other program. It takes on average less than 2 hours to do a full landscape design of an average new construction home. Pros So easy to use and customize features. It's like Sketchup but so much easier to work with. Renderings are instantly changed from 2D to 3D. Cons I would like to see a lot more plants added to the catalog. Grasses specifically. The terrain feature is touchy but easy once you get the hang of it. Clients find it extremely helpful to see a planned garden in 3D, over time, and changing with the seasons, not just a 2D plan view. Pros Realistic rendering of landscape designs. Good 3D models of shrubs and trees - they can wave realistically in a breeze. Good selection of plants in most zones. Choice of layers means you can draw the base plan on one layer, lock it in so it never changes, then add other optional layers on top of it. Cons A bit thin on plant selection in the colder zones - USDA 4 and lower. Learning curve on the more advanced features, but the written guide and Youtube are pretty good. Build and create beautiful decks, driveways, pools and gardens for yourself or your client. You can then turn your creation into a walk through presentation for the homeowner. Perfect software to help bring in new clients. Cons It was a bit confusing to get the terrain tool to work the way I wanted it to. Other than that as long as you have some computer skills this software is functional and helpful. Many times we are just adding flare to an existing landscape, so it is easier to visualize when you are just adding new plants to what you can actually see in person already. Cons It would be nice if you could have a plant selection that is able to be customized to your area or zone. I live in NW Montana, so our selection is quite slim in comparison to other places, and this would make it simpler to add plants to a design. It was much more difficult to use than I was lead to believe. You could not just feed in the measurements which the instructions said but you have to nearly build the structure yourself. I could have done that with pen and paper. Pros Great outcome once you learn to maneuver the software. Printable projects and easy to use help feature. Cons Luckily the help feature is easy because the software takes a great learning curve. I found it difficult to learn as each button click seemed to take me to another space instead of returning me to the original design.
