### "AVOID BONTERRA WITH EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!"

I DESPISE THEM WITH ALL MY BEING. The exploitation of nonprofit services at the horrifyingly exorbitant prices is unconsciounable. The nonprofit sector is struggling already. Bonterra is just around to bayonet the wounded and make sure the support resources and software are out of reach costwise. HATE THEM.

Pros

I really used to like the customizable features of Apricot. I literally like nothing about Bonterra. They are predatory and buy up systems important to nonprofits and then jack the prices up.

Cons

The price!! Bonterra has bought up a LOT of nonprofit support systems and software and has JACKED UP the price on everything while at the same time reducing support and customization features until the products are not worth the hassle.

I do wish there was a chat feature right on the site. Sometimes I need a question answered quicker than an email exchange allows.

I have been having issues with this system since we began using it in 2021. We never got to a place where we could fully function on our own. It always required the use of their staff. Every time I would reach out to the company for issues, their solution was always us having to pay for an upgrade or more training. I have done the upgrades and the additional training and paid for it, yet we still are not able to operate the system effectively. The system is NOT user friendly and customer service is horrific. Their version of customer services is to up sale us into something else that we don't need. I want to cancel my subscription to this platform before the end of the contracted date but they lock you into a long contract and continue to take your money without proper support. I believe you they provided false advertisement and quite frankly do not value the customer. I have tried multiple times to cancel and get support from \[sensitive content hidden\] who said she has sent this information to her higher ups, but to date I have not heard from any managers or supervisors. They should be embarrassed at the type of service you provide to people.

Pros

N/a. We couldn't get it to function for us the way we needed it to. Not user friendly.

Cons

The system is not customizable or user friendly.

### "Better with Apricot"

I really enjoyed Apricot I have worked with prior programs like child plus and apricot definitely tops that in my book.

Pros

Apricot is really easy to use and manage. It makes it easier when my job is able to make adjustments to how we manage our clients documents when we say we like one way or if we don't like it they are able to make changes. It is very secure with the password and making sure you change your passwords frequently which ensures client privacy and protection.

Cons

Really no cons I just wish there was an auto save option especially for the notes section and we can't do anything about system updates but sometimes those are inconvenient

There were a lot of great things about apricot. The ease of use and easy to find what you looking for was the best part of website. The ability to talk to someone to help and troubleshoot was very difficult.

Pros

Easy to find things. When the system was working you could upload documents and sign off on papers easily. The ability to use your phone, ipad, desktop and laptops atvany time was amazing as well.

Cons

Slow. High volume days the program would stall. Usually on the important days there was an almost guarantee that the website would run slow or not at all.

Overall the product is great, I just wish there was a way to pick up the phone and call instead of having to use the online ticketing system.

Pros

It is user friendly and helps to speed up and capture the data in a way that works great for the agency.

Cons

My only issue is on the billing side, the ticketing system doesn't always work great because I normally need to speak with a person and that seems like it takes an act of congress to get someone on the phone.

Overall my experience has been great. The training I had before we launched our database was great and the continued support is very helpful.

Pros

The ability to customize just about any field and report without having to ask or pay Bonterra to do it for me.

Cons

There are a few fields that I am unable to delete and require me to speak with a Bonterra employee if I want to remove them. These are fields in prebuilt forms.

Whenever we needed to make a change to the database, we needed to go through ASI-ware, wait for a quote, if the quote was within our budget, then we'd approve, then we needed to wait for production to finish, then test it, then finalize the change. It was a lot of time and money to customize forms and reports.

I like the ease of documentation. I like how easy it is to find and view what I need without digging through countless notes.

Cons

The frustration that I have with the program is that the agencies that I refer to the most are not options in the menu bars. That has more to do with the agency I work for and not the program itself.

I have used a lot of case management/clinical software systems, BCM/Apricot has been my favorite. There's always a tradeoff between automation and customizability with such systems, and Bonterra Case Management has the best balance between the two. Building forms and reports is easy, and the tech support is super.

Pros

Easy built-in reporting interface, and really responsive tech support

Cons

Not enough training is included (meaning at no additional cost), and, while tech support is great, other contacts like the account manager are less helpful and turn over often
