Senior Technology Officer Capital Markets Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "efilecabinet review" August 21, 2019 4.0 Despite some glitches, I found efilecabinet as very robust product Pros 1) Ease of use - It was so much easier to setup efilecabinet for loading and retrieving document 2) Very easy to control user access to the Cabinet, Drawer and folders 3) With Sidekick on desktop, using efilecabinet is like using file explorer. No user training required 4) We got efilecabinet approved for 17A(4) from FINRA so were able to replace Broadridge repository Cons 1) It is not possible to generate few simple reports. For example, I wanted to send out an email listing all the documents stored in certain folders that day but that is not possible 2) Found that douments which passed retention were not automaticall moving to Expired folder Reason for choosing Revver Amazon Glacier is only good if the documents are not retrieved often. Pros First off the customer service is phenomenal!...Enthusiastic employees who have a comprehensive knowledge of their software. The software is very good as well. If you don't use a document manager, this software will lower your blood pressure 10 points and let you take a 2 week vacation that you couldn't take before. Cons the older version let you see everything date sorted, now the newer version not have that....also when you upload to the newer version the prior dates that created pdf are obliterated...that's bad!!......also older version used to have a store again feature..........would get big points if you incorporated a to do list into the program.....dm of intuit does that. Such as being able to edit files, like add or remove pages or even to rearrange them. Pros The ability to search for what I'm looking for Cons The inability to add to something already filed and the inability to delete unwanted items. Example I made a new profile and never used it, now I cannot delete that profile and it is very annoying. I even called support and they have no answers. I am a CPA so I need client files and copies of prior tax returns and support documents. Never a problem. Since I have used the software since 2003, there sometimes situations where I need to look back a return or the documentation. Pros The software is easy to use, but the most important point is the high level of support when I cannot get something to work. Never had a problem and the help is super patient when I have not explained my problem. Always fix it right the first time. Cons Like everyone I wish it was cheaper, but I would rather pay for quality than be sorry later. Reason for choosing Revver Requirement to have files with me in two locations. Personally, I have had nothing but problems. Maybe it's user error. The investment in this program may be there, but I'm still trying to find it. I will continue to use and see if it gets better for me. Pros I like the templates offered to help keep you organized and management appreciated the low cost. It was quite easy to set up, but there were still some issues. Cons Customer service has been a big issue for me. Maybe I'm calling at the wrong times or maybe there are others with just as many issues as me. Also, I have a difficult time dragging and dropping files into the program. If you are trying to convert from paperless.. efile has some challenges. There are not many editing so if you want to change the direction of the organization you can not easily do that using this software. So far with the storage space it is working great! It would also be nice to have a button where you and individually select pages in the file to scan. Pros E-file is used on the daily. 1,2,3 steps. Easy-ish to use. Clear instructions and great customer help with employees that are friendly and knowledgeable when a problem occurs. The software is very black and white and you are able to Create a more advanced. Cons Creating a more advanced and complex filing system when scanning multiple files is more on the challenging side to correct. If you mess up and want to delete a mistake it is near impossible. I look at efile as more as the finale draft for a project and there are not many editing options to play around with. It would also be nice to have a button where you and individually select pages in the file to scan. The video Library isn't searchable so I constantly have to ask for guidance on training I desire. it can be more client-friendly. However, I think that it could be improved to encourage collaboration within the workspace. Pros I like that you can save files and collaborate as a team. I also like the organization tools so that you can store multiple years for each client. Cons We have had issues with multiple people trying to access EFC at once. We love the product, it does precisely what we need. Pros The price just can't be beat. Our small-midsize business had needs for confidential electronic employee record-keeping, and efilecabinet was a perfect fit for us. Cons Not all the functionality is there. For instance, I can upload Outlook Mail messages directly to the file, which is great; however, I can't view these messages from within the online software - it must be downloaded. This kind of defeats the perfect of keeping the files stored within the efilecabinet and nowhere else. Additionally, sometimes load times to view files is a bit slow. Wish it were a bit smoother. We can send our tax returns encrypted with a click of the mouse. Pros The ease to access everything immediately; this is our number one software that we use. At different shows, we have even visited with people considering this product and showed them our set up. Everyone we have talked to thru the years has been super impressed. Cons I can't really think of anything. Everything has been great especially you get people on the phone that you can understand. Reason for choosing Revver The people were always very helpful. You do not get an automated phone system when a need arises. " March 25, 2021 1.0 Terrible enough that I tried for 2 months to cancel my subscription to which the customer service agents wouldn’t let me. They kept telling me I signed a yearly contract but could never provide me with a signed contract. I was paying a monthly fee not a yearly one, if I want to cancel the subscription I should be able to since nothing in the contract stated otherwise. They kept arguing with me and eventually I just canceled my credit card because I was tired of dealing with a company that only cared about their profit. Pros The software itself is like any other software in the same class. There are much cheaper alternatives that do the same exact thing though. Cons The customer service attached to the software. Pros This software eliminates our need for using a physical file storage system that takes up a lot of space. Cons Using the same username but switching computers does not really work and has to be reset up. The template should transfer over for Zonal from one computer to the next when using the same login. Efile helped us to get rid of our bulky file cabinets (about 6 four drawer cabinets that were crammed to the max!!) as well as eliminate the floor weight limit (we are on the 2nd floor)!! Pros the ease of daily use is awesome! It was easy to make changes, save, upload and download with extreme ease!! It did not require the use of a bulky manual and was very easy to learn and set up Cons Sometimes the updates made the program not work efficiently as we weren’t notified of the updates. Also customer service was hard to get in touch with as they were 3 hours behind us (we are EST and they are MST). Pros The security features to limit access to certain files, the ability to easily encrypt files for sending through email, the online backup, and user setup. Cons I do not like how long the search takes to find clients. I do not like how sometimes when you click on a drawer or a folder the software takes extra long to open the drawer or folder. I have to click on another folder and then click back to folder I want. I do not like having to search for the drawer and folder when adding a file through Efile Cabinet. It should go right to the drawer or folder that is already open. Owner Accounting Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Year of Use" May 31, 2019 5.0 I love using it with SecureDrawer, a client accessible portal which easily integrates with EFC and makes sending files to clients a "piece of cake". The ability to print directly is a huge time saver. The ability to send e-mails, excel files, word documents, etc directly to EFC is not only a time saver, but eliminates the need to keep client files in multiple locations. As a one person office, EFC has saved my more time than I could imagine when I purchased the product in 2006. Pros I have used this software since Jan. 2006. I like the ease of use and the free support when needed. Further, the company works continuously to upgrade their product. Cons My least liked feature of EFC is the inability to delete files from SecureDrawer once they have been downloaded into the client file. Pros It meets all or needs, is reliable and a great value. I have not found a comparable solutions. It is easy to print, scan or upload files into the database. I love the folder and file naming templates which save lots of time. There is very flexible retention setting which allow purging some files after a given time period needed for accounting and tax preparation, and setting for permanent retention need for financial planning and investment management clients. Cons My only complaint about eFileCabinet is that they don't always completely consider small usability issues on the impact to us on deploying their solutions to hundreds of users. The set-up was simple and we are able to maintain with ease. Cons The set-up of a new external user is cumbersome and there is no good way for the system to automatically notify of the addition of new documents without it seeming like spam. This year changes have been made that make it harder to use. We would not have bought it if this is how it originally was. With the changes we are no longer able to page through documents in the view window. Before this showed us immediately how big a file was because of the number of pages. We also were able to store lots of items to the same folder without always searching for it because it would bring us to the last place stored. Also, When we currently store we don't always see that the item is stored without going out of the folder and back in. Before it always showed up immediately. I hear some of these features will be back with the next update which I am looking forward to. Rubex.... ugh Pros nothing yet, we were previous users of the efile software but the conversion is probably the hardest software upgrade we've had to do Cons everything is the same color making it so difficult to find what you are looking for? everything is all jumbled up in the customers folder making almost impossible to find what you are looking for without wasting time and causing more stress to the day. why don't you set it up so the same settings are ready for the user instead of me having to search twice (we have to search by name and and search again by file.... really?)
