Pros \- Search flexibility and intuitive organization of documents are my top favorite things about the application - You can tell a lot of time and effort was put into thinking about file privacy and security restrictions to accommodate multiple scenarios. - Folder/format templates are a life and time-saver! Cons Major thing i find as an issue is that its file-type support is not exhaustive, albeit quite accommodative to the most common types you'll use. However, for people working in industries with esoteric file types and formats, you might find it a bit lacking for you. You can print to e-file cabinet from other programs and save it in client file folders. And when you’re having problems, the customer support is amazing. They just log in to your computer and fix the problem right away. We are a small/local/rural health care organization that has a lot of records. We are required by our state to house those records for a long period of time even after the individual is no longer being cared for. We were overrun by paper. We made the switch to eFileCabinet about 2 years ago and haven't looked back. Once a file is scanned, I feel confident that it is safe and secure and uploaded exactly how I expect it to be. I have no problem shredding a document after it is uploaded because I know it is safe. Cons The initial start up was difficult with all our backlog, but the software made it easy to achieve. I love it and tell everyone I know how wonderful it is. Convincing others to stop sending paper files is the only difficulty I have experienced, but scanning into the file is quick and convenient. Pros This is the most logical filing and retrieval software I have seen or used. So simple for anyone to use. December 17, 2019 5.0 Support service available when we first purchased and implemented the software was top notch. They were very good at touching base to see how we were doing with the software. Very each to reach. Pros We converted from a different file management software since we had heard a lot of positive reviews and feedback from other colleagues in our industry. They were right! So much quicker and more user friendly than the previous software we used. Best function is customizing to fit your office's needs. Cons Haven't come across any cons yet. Again, very user friendly. The ease of use was great until the last year. Then they updated their software and all the great features became inefficient. Cons They did not test updates before releasing the new version. Since we started using this product our productivity has been significantly increase. We are even able to easily locate documents which were misfiled. Pros I find the software to be very user friendly and easy to use. When I hire new staff they are up and running with a minimal effort to train them. The cost is just too high for the service provided. Pros The searchablity and security, data can't be compromised by a virus Cons There are bugs that may or may not get fixed during an update, and they don't know why. Reg Rep Financial Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "General observation for usfulness" August 26, 2019 2.0 Hard to full implementation. I don't have enough time to commit to doing this. I still keep paper filing although I keep paying with an intention to transfer all to the e-filing system. Pros Online. Paperless. Helpful help desk people are available. Cons I have been stuck at the transition stage and it seems we may need to hire a temp for the transition phase as we need to create a file drawer for each client, then transfer the PDF files. Also, when we transfer a PDF file from other resources, such as one from an e-mail attachment, we have to save the file to the PC, then save to a temporary app on the screen, then move to the targetted file cabinet drawer. It requires additional steps instead of direct transfer. That is a time-consuming procedure. Another matter is: the customer service person assigned to my account (our company) is not always available and a week or weeks later I receive a call at an inconvenient time. I ended up to choose to call the help desk and grab the help available at the moment. No comprehensive solution. Please note that I understand the person assigned to us is only one person covering many people, so I don't complain about a specific salesperson. Review Source MH MARIA H. Further its really nice to be able to save directly from Word/Excel/ Outlook that as the document in its original format. Cons I wish there was an easier way to search for documents. I've probably used the chat function 8 times and every time the staff has been knowledgeable, very helpful, and courteous. Pros The ease of moving files within eFileCabinet is one of my favorite features. We decided to change our database format and it's made it pretty streamlined. Cons That I can't mass rename documents. Most of our old documents only have the year and type of file and don't have any client identifiers, so having a mass renaming option would be hugely beneficial. Pros Ease of access, all employees can have access, administrator can add/ edit items other employees put in or take out, customer service is great, functionality is reliable. Attorney Law Practice Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Return to Version 4.1.43.56" December 16, 2016 3.0 I have used eFile Cabinet for about 7 years. The reason we choose this program is that all documents are saved in PDF format, and once saved can be accessed by Windows Explorer. If the company goes bust, nothing is lost and everything is fully accessible. With the newer versions, the documents are stored with a proprietary encryption; and can no longer be accessed using Windows Explorer. The eFile Cabinet company has abandoned its legacy customers by allowing us to deactivate the encryption function. Until the encryption is optional, I'm sticking with Version4.1.43.56. \[This is the last version without encryption.\] There are still some glitches in the program. Moving Drawers between Cabinets sometimes leaves files in the old cabinet and new cabinet. This requires me to go into the raw data using Windows Explorer and complete the Drawer/File move manually. Pros Version 4.1.43.56 is very good Cons The newer versions have a proprietary encryption that can not be deactivated. Review Source JH John H. Pros Initial cost and annual maintenance fees are reasonable and affordable, customer support for setup and on going support has been good. Had a great sales rep but pushed us to support for questions and the reps I kept talking to, seemed very new and limited knowledge on the product. Pros When the search function worked, it was phenomenal tool! When it didn't - it was difficult to find documents. Cons It's essentially a glorified windows explorer setup. The editor in the program was not an editor at all. Unable to adjust or rotate scanned in documents. Had to check them out and then do it on a PDF editor on the computer. Excellent customer support!! Cons Freezes up sometimes (weekly) so I always check data is saved before deleting from wherever it came from. ALWAYS have to search for the server every single time I log in, it's PAINFUL !!!
