However, I had a really bad user experience, due to wrong data mapping by the jointed task force. Pros It’s a great user-friendly inventory management tool for Windows OS. Despite its UI looking old-fashion, it does the job just fine. Cons Personally, the old-fashioned UI. To elaborate, the UI looks like early 2000s Windows applications, which makes it look old. October 20, 2025 1.0 I am a part of a growing company and we took a big risk to see if Fishbowl would be a good fit. We were not able to link their system to our QuickBooks accounting software and online store (Shopify) to pull location of inventory available or shipping quotes prior to full sync. The sync did not work properly talking back and forth between QuickBooks. Pros None. The implementation was too hasty and did not help our company map out our integration before trying to implement. Our doubts and concerns were ignored. Cons I was forced to pay out over $19,000 for unrendered services even though we were guarenteed success of integration. I even confirmed in our contract that they include special verbiage to confirm that we had a risk free trial to be sure this very expensive jump for us would indeed work. After my doubts that full integration would succeed were confirmed, I was refused full or even reasonable refund. Accountant Maritime Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Sunsation Implementation" January 5, 2026 4.0 Overall, our experience with Fishbowl has been super positive. Our implementation team has been nothing but helpful and has been able to assist us through the struggles of going live. Trainings were very easy to schedule and feedback throughout the trainings has been a large piece to our continued success in Fishbowl. Pros We enjoyed the customization that Fishbowl offers. Being a boat manufacturer puts our implementation in the more niche category due to the individualistic nature of building boats, and Fishbowl was able to guide us through building the system around out own best practices. It is amazing how much we are able to accomplish in just the warehousing license and the workarounds we created to manufacturing in a warehouse limited database. The other pieces of Fishbowl that we have enjoyed thus far include the clarity of process steps due to green arrow, red truck, blue checkmark. The ability to run a multitude of reports. The ease of invoicing directly from a sales order. And especially the functionality of kitting. Furthermore, we look forward to leveraging tools such as auto PO's and order tracking to increase our inventory efficiency. Cons Fishbowl has a large amount of reports that are very helpful, but can be rigid in customization. For example, the inventory valuation summary does not let the report filter for multiple location groups at once, and instead can only be sorted by one location or location group at a time. Other reports also have a restricting feel to them being that there aren't many options to add fields to the report from within the modify report wizard. One of the biggest reports we would like to be able to run out of Fishbowl is a work in progress report, but being that we aren't in the manufacturing license, we cannot. We would like to be able to run this report based off location type, as we have do have manufacturing type locations set up in Fishbowl for inventory in process. Customizations and added filter fields in the inventory valuation summary would be very helpful. Cons Well atleast in our case any data migration from a current ERP to a new dual system solution can cause risk and complexity with moving the data over. However this is not Fishbowl specific and has been easy to work with them to get started on our integration. Customer support has been exceptional. We use the web based version and having the ability to use it from any location is also a great advantage. Cons While Quickbooks is included with the contract when you purchase Fishbowl other integrations are not. We wanted to purchase the Shopify integration however they were experiencing difficulty with it and was unavailable. We went with the E-commerce instead. This isn't terrible for our current volume but may become expensive at the next tier. Before Fishbowl I spent countless hours looking for and counting every part in our plant, and also products. Once we signed onto Fishbowl I entered every product into the system. I added SKU's and Bar Codes to all of our parts and products and then our shipping team can scan out all orders live as they ship. Our manufacturing manager can scan completed products straight into inventory so I could have confidence when lining up the shipment, that the products were available. Pros I love Fishbowl for its ability to warn me of upcoming shortages in our manufacturing process. I love how it links our financial team to my orders and supplies to streamline the accounting process when invoicing and making payments. I love the ability to adjust Inventories as I walk around the plant, keeps me from wasted paper and time. I also love the fact that the customer support is live and an actual person. It has cut the cost of our operations by allowing me to be free to do other tasks. Mostly importantly, the security of knowing there is restricted access and there must be a log in for every action. Cons There is very little that I dislike for the fact of time saved and accountability of my suppliers. I used to spend so many hours walking around and inventorying every part 2 - 3 times a week. It is also a great bridge from our ecommerce store to quickbooks. It has way more inventory functionality than Quickbooks and our e-commerce store and really does a great job for us when it comes to managing inventory. Pros Fishbowl is an easy solution that allows us to track inventory, manufacturing, and order fulfillment from the most basic parts and components, to finished and shipped product. For the most part, Fishbowl has integrated well with other software our company uses like Shopify and HubSpot. The customer support team is also stellar. They have always been able to answer my questions, or they take the time to find an answer and get back to me. I never hesitate to reach out to them. Cons I wish it was possible to receive notifications. It would be nice if I could receive an email when my stock is getting low on certain products, or customize the visibility of sales orders to easily see when certain products are being ordered (customer ordered product A, that SO is now bolded, a different color, etc.) We integrate with Shopify, and we have two separate production and fulfillment facilities. I wish Fishbowl was able to split a sales order when parts of the order will be fulfilled at facility A and the rest of the order will be fulfilled at facility B. They don't work for my industry. It's database keeping is pretty good, and the ability to sort is great. But it's also frustrating when there are things you want to be able to do, and just can't. There's no notification process when someone receives something a salesperson entered. So we have to go hunt down that Sales Order, then the person who entered the sales order, THEN we have to go into another type of message system to inform them UNLESS they are logged in to FB right at that moment. With a limit to how many people can be logged into the server at once that makes this yet another unnecessary step to do something very simple. There is a LOT of that with FB. Pros It's an easy way to incorporate Sales order, and purchase orders in one place. It has good options for sorting materials and making build lists, or manuf orders. Cons There needs to be more fluidity between the modules. I shouldn't have to put a cost in 3 different places for it to be able to be seen on a report. Also you should be able to click on the inventory tab on another mod to be moved to the inventory mod like you can between the part and product numbers.
