Educator Education Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Helps finding the job profile network" March 1, 2023 3.0 I enjoyed connecting with some peers from my background in education who happened to share with me some other platforms like Linkedin but here, it was less formal and more productive to discuss. I would recommend using it at least once to check the status of your work network. Pros There is minimum self-promotion. People drive the conversations about jobs, experience, and new opportunities. You might bump into a peer in your company or in the same company but in a different country. It is interesting to find new people as well. Cons Some fields like IT, tech, blockchain, AI, etc are very popular but information and conversations about professions like mine - ie education are less and hence I could not use it for more than a few months. Being able to make groups for customers is extremely helpful especially in the field that I'm in because we have state contracts and different pricing structures for different customers. Cons The thing that I like least about this product is that it runs extremely slow. We have about 8-15 users and sometimes it's a painful process. They are a solutions based company that strives to take the input of their customer. When we first implemented Fishbowl Inventory Software three years ago, we utilized their on site training to help assist with the setup and initial training. They don't just provide a cookie cutter approach to their support and training, they realize they work with all types of industry and have been able to adapt their software to work in nearly every need for inventory related purposes. Their software is easy to use, better than a DOS based system, and has great user interface for easy training of employees. Cons Fishbowl is very good at answering your questions and their tech support. Sometimes you have to leave a message and they have to return a phone call, however it is in a timely manner, and they generally have a solution prior to calling you back, getting your issue resolved in a timely manner. February 15, 2018 4.0 Pros The software is easy to use and was pretty easy to learn. It seems to integrate pretty well in to quickbooks although I would prefer it keep the item (part) numbers on the QB invoice rather than saying FB\_Item. Cons I would really like to see an equipment rental feature included. I have asked for this on many occasions as it is a key part of our business. The other feature I would like to see is the implementation of QR codes. Our main supplier uses these and it would be great if we could just scan their qr codes. Last issue is in the reporting of historical stock values, it seems to me that I sometimes get different values when running the same report on different days. Review Source MC Maggie C. Cons We have a repetitive problem with line items coming up as 0, which causes our orders to refuse to ship. It's time-consuming to repeatedly call to get them unstuck. I have been using the software for a year now. It is minimizes the time and the cost of implementation. Also, fishbowl has different modules that can be used on the whole operation of the company. Pros Fishbowl is easy to use. It is built in a unique business needs. It is a warehouse and manufacturing software that is designed specially for it. The Matrix inventory item setup is very simple and not confusing. I would pick this POS over other if not the inventory number is limited. Cons We need to create more inventory item, but Fishbowl is capped the inventory item number and require customer to purchase high package to get more inventory item number available. If your industry is required many inventory items and keep on grow, you are better ask for the price before moving over to use Fishbowl. Fishbowl does offer two different versions of the award winning software; Fishbowl Warehouse and Fishbowl Manufacturing, but again - neither contains any limits on items or quantities. As the number of items is not capped in any way, there is no need for or options available for additional purchases to increase item limits. Pros Easy of use - intuitive screens and facilitating data entry. Quick learning curve - was able to get most of my staff feeling comfortable with the program within a few hours. Pros I liked that it reduces the effort of business owners in production planning, and helps manage one or multiple warehouses easily. The software helps the user in managing multiple locations, tracking orders and also define reorder points, and managing and automating our stock order creation. Their website is also well maintained and provides a lot of transparency about the products they offer, and features they provide. Cons I used the software for a limited time, but it would be interesting to see forecasted reorder-point proposals from their side based on the history of my previous reorder points. Keeping track of my inventory is simple now. Cons Updating the app is a bit of a pain, but the customer service team are a pleasure to deal with and can walk you right though it. The visibility and functionality is wonderful. It is very simple to use, even the least computer savvy person is able to learn it quickly. The chat help function is the best way to get answers. Reports are easily exported to excel. Color coded availability allows the shipping department to know which orders can be fulfilled. The tabs are nice and neat for what you need such as, picking, shipping, parts, products, and customers. Order entry is nice and neat. Cons Their suggestion box is a black hole. You'll be lucky if you get a technical support response over the phone within 48 hours. It seems like we are bothering them when we need help. Updates are not perfect, has issues sometimes that have to be fixed. Even if they do fix a problem, they wont tell you what or how they fixed it. Depending on your operations, inventory numbers can get skewed. No way to drill down into orders. Instead you have to copy and paste the invoice number into another tab. Review Source SC Sarah C. What it lacks in a 'complete solution', it makes up for in custom report writing, and software flexibility. Pros Integrations with QuickBooks can be incredibly useful for companies already based in QuickBooks. It makes training for accounting much easier. From a manufacturing perspective, FishBowl is a fairly powerful tool that can track inventory and assist in production planning. Cons Since we are a manufacturing company that sells to distributors, one of our core 'ERP' requirements is storing quotes to distributors/customers for parts/products. If FishBowl had some sort of CRM, it would make the software more robust. Review Source Ryan J. Where should we start... They did not tell us the advanced technical skills required during their sales pitch. They then try to close you quick by offering a discount. It took us over a month to install servers and remote desktops to get to the point that we could start using the software. After a month of a lot of time investment on our end, the product kept crashing and would not even open. We were told we were outside our 30 day return window so they would not provide a refund. We stated that we had not been able to use the product yet, have not added any of our data to it, and it would not even open or run properly - and that we would take a partial refund as a compromise. They still denied it. They seem to be a company with outdated software that is struggling financially. They would rather have upset customers and negative feedback than try to resolve issues. The entire experience felt very fraudulent on their behalf, selling a product that doesn't work, with false projections of requirements, and refusal to refund one dime. Pros There was nothing to like because we were never able to get the software running. Cons The software looks outdated. It requires advanced technical skills like running a server and installing remote desktops. It's not easy to use, and keeps crashing.
