Pros I like that this product works with Quickbooks, which I have used in several settings. I became familiar with the product because of the ability to have both systems work together. Cons I have had the same problems with Fishbowl that I had with Quickbooks. Customer service is sometimes not as informed as I expect them to be but overall I have had a positive experience. " January 16, 2018 5.0 Pros It really good at keeping tracking of inventory when you have multiple locations . It helps control and keep track the inventory much better than Quick books, It also can create automatically point of order, so that you are never out of stock under normal circumstances. Cons It is difficult for accounting department to use the credit of the customer. At first, it is a hassle becasue Fishbowl does not let you cancel a order when it is completed. On the whole it is a stable piece of software, with frequent updates and some improvements. The service staff is polite, easy to understand and knowledgeable when you can reach them. The Product appears to be able to grow with us as we do. There is an issue with large (Multiple line item) orders. The program seems to slow down considerably when accessing these. Pros Integration with Quickbooks, UPS worldship, and operates self-sufficient of any other applications. Time and inventory management is intergrated into the workorder process. Cons There are some minor annoyances, such as being unable to modify a description of a Manufacturer Order when multiple BOMs are used. As I said it is intergrated with Fishbowl Inventory Management which has other issues that tie in here. Specifically, and this might just be due to the nature of our business (LED lighting manufacturing), the translation of UOMs from the Sales order to the Pick list. Pick tickets are based on a part number which uses the single smallest unit of measurement, but purchased products use larger easy to manager UOMs. It can at times confuse my pickers but it is an issue that we have grown to deal with. I manage our broker network and rely on Fishbowl for sales reporting. It's led to a lot of time manually adjusting numbers on reports that other systems I've worked with in other jobs have never had a problem with. Pros It's fairly intuitive once you're in it. You can find the customer fairly easy. Cons The biggest hurdle is the reporting. There are too many issues to rely on the reports for accuracy. Pros It is a fairly straight forward program, once you figure it out. It is figuring out the more challenging real-life problems that will be an issue. Cons Don't expect any decent help from fishbowl. They will refer to you their Wiki's that provide only the most rudimentary guidance and no information as to solve the everyday challenges. Using their chat function takes forever, first to get someone and then explain the challenge and most often they aren;t helpful. Their next most popular phrase is a lack of training which they want you to pay for, however, their training is not effective and how they structure the training is not effective. Again everyday usual problems when first starting is very hard to get help on. Also some very basic should be available options are missing. Review Source BP Beth P. I like the integrations that are available and how it works with the company website. The support I get from the Plugin Department, specifically our rep, is fantastic. He is not only helpful but a complete pleasure to talk to Cons It's full of bugs and every time there is an update we have problems. You can add product images in the system. The icons are big. That's about it. Cons The support team is horrible. They don't know what they're doing. Custom reports are expensive and take weeks to do. And then, they're still Wrong!!! The freezes up daily. If you want to use any of their "plugins" like for shipping via FedEx, they're terrible! Tons of room for human error. The system is just plain "buggy". We finally upgraded to their 2017 version after they promised all of the bugs had been worked out. It's just as bad !!!!!! Review Source DP Dinesh P. I am in brewing industry so I can see the material usage forecast and I can plan my orders accordingly. Pros it is a great platform for inventory management system. it is great tool for a business who have annual turnover less than $100M I believe. it is a cloud base so easy to log in anywhere in to server. great for placing order, receiving inventory, consuming goods through work order. February 7, 2017 5.0 Overall the Software is extremely user friendly and can work with a multitude of different size and types of companies. Fishbowl offers the ability to break free with the sophistication and automation it brings. The best part is the customer support. The support staff is knowledgeable and helpful beyond request. I can honestly say one of my best experiences with a support team in the history of my business has been with the Fishbowl team. They have helped us with integration in places that we had no knowledge about, this is truly the value add. I recently had a great experience with a team member of fishbowl, Jason, who literally helped me all the way through an issue I was having internally.... and then he even followed up with me a few days after just to check in and make sure all was still well! My honest opinion, Fishbowl is the best you can buy. With the implementation team to help get things going to the ongoing support, we've always been able to get a quick answer to our challenges. US based support was paramount in our buying decision and the support staff has been nothing short of excellent. Pros Once you understand the underlying modules, how they operate, and develop a strategy consistent with your business requirements; you've got a super inventory control system. Cons The UI seems dated but functional. It would be great to have the ability to create wizards that would step users through data entry within modules, bypassing entry of redundant selections, and providing smoother flow throughout the process. I would caution ANYONE to not use this system because when something goes wrong (which is very often) they NEVER answer the phone, chat support often can't help and the place you in a queue where sometimes you don't receive a call back for 3-4 days. We manufacture a lot of strange products, from Ukuleles to Canoes, and the bills of materials, and work orders are a life saver when trying to determine total cost and price for products. Pros Fishbowl integrates with Quickbooks, and if use the offered training well you'll rarely if ever have to get into Quickbooks. Find it easy to use and understand with the fantastic training offered by the support team. Cons If you have a slightly more complex business model, or maybe a business model that doesn't follow the normal flow than you may have to adjust your business flow, or take a couple more steps to make Fishbowl work for you. Pros The use of the dashboard as a quick overview and how modules are linked within sales orders or other modules, makes moving from one module to another easy. Cons Learning the program was a challenge but after a few trial and errors I can easily maneuver through the program. Also, I dislike the inability to customize reports ourselves. There are many simple things that make it easy to use. For instance, after you are done inputting information, you just hit enter to search. With other software, you often have to take you hand of the keyboard and move your mouse to click on something to search. Blows Quickbooks multi-inventory away. Cons The main screens of the customer and vendor modules have the contact information greyed out because you can't edit them from that screen. The greyed out areas are difficult to read. Quickbooks, being an excellent accounting software, was not adequate for our inventory management or ordering. We have been using Fishbowl inventory for more than 5 years. If you are familiar with the terminology of inventory management, the learning curve is quite short. It is extremely easy to use. Many of our orders are custom products and it is simple to order with the SO to PO function. No duplication of part numbers, pricing, or possible errors. The inventory management function is great. It has great tracking, shipping, and receiving functions - and the screens are simple to understand and move around in. We have recently began using the kitting feature and it makes it easy for multiple parts or pieces to be combined into 1 product number for sale. When that item is purchased, a pick ticket is generated for all pieces that comprise it; extremely simple. The pricing function allows multiple price structures for different volume, customers parts etc. That is simple to set up and understand. Fishbowl exports accurately to Quickbooks. I have not had any concerns with the billing issues since I started using it. We continue to use Quickbooks for all your invoicing so you will not have to retrain the accounting department. All the sales orders generated in Fishbowl track through Quickbooks for easy order tracking. The reports you can generate for Backorder tracking, profit margins, or about anything you want to see, are excellent for overview of where you profit lines are. Overall it is the best inventory management, order processing. shipping, and receiving software I have found that works with Quickbooks. Simple, efficient, and affordable I recommend it to anyone. Timing to resolving my problems is key to my happiness! Pros Nice well-rounded tool--it does a great job at managing everything from inventory to invoicing to charging our customer. Hard to find a solution that does all of that well and stays within a small business owners budget. Cons Quick books integration could be better. The integration itself is seamless which is great, but reading the Fishbowl data in Quickbooks could be better.
