We purchased Fishbowl to augment what we felt we shortcomings in the Quick Books software. Eg. we needed a Bill of Material system to drive our product costing and inventory control. We needed Bin Location functionality for inventory control and are about to implement the Bar Coding functionality. Meanwhile, we continue to use QuickBooks for our accounting needs and Fishbowl integrates with QB extremely well.

Fishbowl is software that continues to evolve. Updates keep adding more and more functionality even when you think you have enough. It is easy to use and is moderately priced. If inventory control and shrinkage and loss are large concerns, then Fishbowl is the software for you. There is plenty of reporting allowing you to examine date as you see fit customizing each report if necessary. Give it a shot!

We found a feature that unfortunatley made Fishbowl not a viable option for our company. They are unwilling to refund or even negotiate an agreement for us to use the software once the feature was added. No live customer support - only promised phone calls back from your team, so you sit patiently awaiting their call. I have to feel that there are better solutions and hate I did not shop around more.

The technical staff is very knowledgeable and supportive. They are able so solve every issue I have had so far. My only complaint is that when I call, I am put on hold as nobody is available to talk at that time. I end up leaving a message and someone calls me back. Only problem with that is that I am not always available to answer the phone so we end up playing phone tag for a while until we connect.

Pros

We like the simplicity and intuitiveness of the product. It also makes sure we take all the necessary steps and can't cut corners where we could in our old software.

Cons

The flexibility of Fishbowl is somewhat limited. There are several things that can be written for your business, but they obviously cost more money.

We have been using Fishbowl Inventory since 2005 and it has worked flawlessly for us. Makes it easy to track inventory and serials numbers with locations and saves a lot of time with the Quickbooks integration with the Purchase Order and receiving modules, sales and shipping modules, etc. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a powerful inventory management program to integrate with Quickbooks.

Very organizing and system allow you to upload pictures of the items for easy recognition. Easy to use and easy to upload items to the module

Cons

software mainly focusing about inventory control. Its good to have some extensions to other tasks such as work orders etc..

easy to set up and integrate with QuickBooks. Serial tracking works nicely. Easy to configure and manage BOM's. Robust enough to help your company grow. The few criticism's I have are the RMA module is a little clunky and requires more steps than you'd like to return product as well as the reports aren't as nice as QB. It's harder to get the data you want from Fishbowl reports.

Very poor customer support! We purchased the support package and have been trying to get someone on the phone to answer some questions and have spent several weeks with no help. Now they want us to purchase training after we paid for the implamentation package and support plan. We should have listen to other reviews about the after sale support for this company!

This is a powerful piece of software! We actually don't use it anywhere near the depth it carries. The capabilities and potential are something for us to grow into, hopefully. We have to say that Customer Support, from sales to training is exceptional! Coming from a training and customer service background, it is always a pleasure to recognize superiority in both.

Overall this is a great tool for inventory and small businesses. It helps with much of our inventory and accounting with little accountant work. Which helps save us time and money. With every system there is ups and down. It does some tasks well and some not that great. Once you get a feel for fishbowl it can help in all aspects of the supply chain.

Very extensive capabilities on the software side. They are open to developing the capabilities further depending on volume of demand for the need. Vendor adapts to the customer and is good to work with.

Cons

Some logistical hurdles, but we got (or are getting) through them.

Pros

Software is easy to learn to use. The customer support team is amazing! I call/e-mail the support team regularly and they are always super prompt at getting back to me. Very friendly and helpful. Chandler is awesome to work with! Thank you!

Cons

Can't edit orders after they've been "fulfilled", glitches pop up every now and then (but the support team is very helpful and always gets the problem fixed quickly!)
