President Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "FishBowl - Could be good - Support is bad... real bad" January 15, 2018 1.0 Look elsewhere unless you really are prepared to roll your sleeves up and get dirty with this thing. Cons Support is slow and in many cases the techs are not up to speed on their software and do not understand basic database functionality. We paid for the integration and have had many issue with the database. Duplicate record numbers ect. Fishbowl has struggled to solve these problems (that they created during the integration) If you go this route find a good outside consultant and pay them to do get the systsm working properly. (Tarabyte.com) is pretty good. Do not think for a minute that the Fishbowl people can get you up ad running easily. We have fairly simple E-com, shipping though 3PL warehouse. Pros I love how easily you can locate inventory and move/make adjustments as needed. It makes it very easy to see what orders are in production and what is needed to fill these orders Cons Some of the reports on certain modules have restrictions, and you have to pay a pretty hefty price for them to go in and make the report say what you need it to. If you're not looking to drop more money in this report personalization (like me), you have to find work arounds, which can be time consuming. Review Source TW Tiffany W. We are paying for something that isn't even implemented and at a complete standstill. Horrible Customer Service!!! Would recommend if you would love to be completely ignored by a company. Pros Nothing-System setup is not even complete nor can we get assistance Cons While "trying" to set up our Fishbowl the service was horrible. Fishbowl Go makes it easy to perform certain tasks without being at an actual computer. Cons The disassemble process can be a bit intimidating if you don't know what you are doing. Sometimes" March 9, 2018 2.0 Avoid, it's so bad, new bugs every release and support is unresponsive. Pros Easier to use than some of the competition. That's about it. Offers lots of integrations, but they only sorta work. Cons Customer support is very slow to respond to issues, we have had an issue for six months now without resolve. Seems like there is no testing on releases at all. This is so much of a headache that if you plan on using this people take into consideration that you'll need a part time employee dedicated to resolving issues. Review Source VM Veronica M. We did have some customizations but overall the implementation process was very simple to get through. Pros The ease of making corrections in Fishbowl is a simple process unlike our original ERP software, and the tracking function within the software is great for our periodic inspections. The reports available in the software are a great value in and of itself, they are functional and easy to use. The import/export feature is a great benefit for setting up the software as well as making any changes or additions within the software. Cons Make sure that all units of measure and their respective conversions are set up prior to entering any transactions as once there is a transaction in against a part or product this cannot be changed. Until a year ago we had very little problems and required hardly any support. We have always purchased the annual support package. Now they have grown and their support team seems to think I should be a computer guru or have someone working for me that is a guru. I just want the program to work so I can run my business. I don't want to learn how to FIX their program. My last successful export was Oct 21. It is now Nov 4. Can't run a business this way. Fishbowl is causing us to lose money in our busy time of year. The hardest part of the entire process was inputting our huge inventory into the system. Once we had a great method set up though, that part became easy. With the ability to scan barcodes, this program became our go to for inventory tracking. Would happily recommend this to anyone working in a warehouse who needs to keep track of all of their material. Cons I just wish that they had a cloud backup of all of the data we collect. Pros Easy to use, it is always growing with our company. This software is always evolving. This is our main database. Customer Service has always been great. Cons We would love if we could make our own reports and labels with out using ireport. Unless you have knowledge of crystal reports, its not easy. I appreciate your rapid customer support in getting the issues resolved! Pros Easy to use, lots of customizability options, and the mobile app is great especially for taking pictures. Cons I appreciate regular updates but I am afraid to update to new versions; twice now we've experienced problems upon updating (within 6 months of owning the software). The first update corrupted the images in our database and replaced our images with the bike shop demo images. The second problem occurred with a recent update, we can't export to QuickBooks because it says sales tax isn't set up. The other problem I seem to have is my labels don't print with my Brother printer, they print ok with the Zebra printer purchased, but better printer support would be ideal. WE have several Fishbowl subject matter experts that have picked up the more advanced stuff in a few weeks. I've never had to wait more that 24 hours for a support issue, and if its urgent I can usually get support that day. Our integration partner has been fantastic and Fishbowl is working flawlessly with our Quickbooks and website, we've even had a few custom reports made to expand our inventory control. Cons The one feature i would really like to see is a "make from" function. So I can use raw material, make parts from it, and have Fishbowl consume the raw material and add in the parts made from it. I know I can get around this with a bill of materials but it can consume a lot of time for a simple procedure. Review Source JT Joshua T. Pros They are affiliated with quickbooks (which does nearly everything Fishbowl will do with a couple add ons). Cons Sales will say the software can do everything needed for inventory/purchasing, customer support really doesnt understand your business so they cant effectively address software concerns, you have to pay prior to onsite training, you cant really get your concerns fully addressed until onsite training, you can get the "satisfaction guaranteed" (read the fine print) training cost back if your concerns are not resolved. Inventory and purchasing modules did not seem to work well for just enough just in time manufacturing. Your work flow from sales order to work order to BOM to inv levels better be perfect for the software to even allow you to get paperwork to the shop to start a job (regretfully at our company we have to improvise on occasion to get a job going). You hear we can customize for your application often. If you start hearing that a lot from them, this is not your solution. Review Source MM Meredith M. About the only positive is the screen layout is easy to read. Cons Where to start... to print any info you need to call it a report, of which you only get a few with the price. Every additional is hundreds per report. So we were extremely limited in how we used it. We had to work around it rather than it working for us.
