Pros: Extremely easy to integrate Stripe APIs into your software. Easy to use interface and great customer support.

Cons: Costs a pretty penny. Each transaction comes with a base and % cost add-on, meaning you lose out on significant revenue if you transaction big volume through their platform.

Pros: I switched from Braintree to Stripe because Stripe offers instant debit card payouts for merchants, and as far as I know, no one else offers that feature.

Stripe has pretty much any feature you could want from a payment provider, and Stripe is generally straightforward to setup and use.

Cons: The documentation can be very frustrating, as there are many things that aren't documented in the API docs. Most of my complaints using Stripe come from trying to figure out how to do something simple, and neither customer support or the API docs were useful in figuring out how to do it.

Customer support can also be obtuse. They generally seem poorly educated about their own product/terminology, and when something isn't working, they're rarely helpful in giving insights as to why. Luckily, I haven't had a huge number of problems, but when I have, customer support hasn't necissarily been helpful.

Pros: Stripe is very easy to use and very easy to set up. Got up and running in a short time period. Everything worked as is.

Cons: I would like to see more templates for payment screens. Documentation can get overwhelming. Fees are standard.

Pros: The huge portfolio of features - from single payments to subscriptions, fraud detection, incorporation, ... . Also, the built-in UI elements look great and professional

Cons: When using your own backend, the integration can be a bit tedious and though the developer documentation is extensive, sometimes you still need to search elsewhere for business-specific features

Pros: Integrates with our CMS , website and mailing list easily. Easy to understand what payments to us cover what donations. Easy to use.

Cons: Fees are still high for a non-profit (even though they have a special nonprofit rate). Would be great if they had some kind of card reader like square

Pros: Stripe merchant system has a lot of good and easy to use functions and integrations which make it easy to use/

Cons: Although stripe merchant system has a lot of documentation on their system, their customer support is lacking. You can only reach them via email which is very limiting.

Pros: I welcome guests from all over the world, so I like that Stripe supports so many credit cards from so many places. It's also a good rate from what I was able to compare.
One thing they do that's extremely useful is allowing the processing without needing a CVC code or a postal code. I work with some booking companies that don't provide that information and Stripe worked just fine so I could welcome those people.

Cons: I wish they allowed you to create invoices and customize the way the receipts look and what's on them. I like to know what my customers will be seeing. Maybe those features exist and I just haven't found them yet though.

Pros: Easy to use and quick to get started. The platform is easy to navigate through. The search function is superb

Cons: We are stuck with using stripe as our primary software only has stripe api connection. that part works flawlessly - however on the other side of the transaction there is the accounting side. the issue is stripe groups multiple transactions together and then deposits them into you bank as a single transaction. Xero does not then allow these transactions to be easily split up in the same way they came in ...The API seems to have severe limitations. Why it is in 2018 that we need third party software to identify whats happening with our credit card merchant payments? Stripe and Xero are 2 of the biggest and supposedly cutting edge softwares out there and yet they can't seem to find a way to talk to one another in a way that allows proper reconciliation. Between my book-keeper and 2 lots of software I probably spend x3 what the Xero subscription costs, just keeping on top of this very basic tedious task of reconciling stripe transactions. Totally ridiculous and enough to make me actively seek alternatives.

The best payment processor available by a wide margin.

Pros: Everything is insanely easy to set up, test and use. There is NOTHING this simple when it comes to processing payments around.

Cons: I really have to look hard for ANY cons, but if there were one, it would be more "plug and play" integrations for a capture form so I don't have to update anything but a little JS snippet on my site.

Stripe just works! It's easy, it's transparent, all the things that traditional processors are not!

Pros: Aside from the ease of use for our online customers and staff who handle phone and walk-up reservations, and aside from how everything just works, and aside from how reliable Stripe is as a processor, what we love most is that we know exactly where we stand with Stripe. No more mystery end-of-month or end-of-quarter fees, no more surprise bills for 1,000 feet of un-needed thermal paper, no more processor games. Just easy and straightforward and predictable, the way card processing should be!

Pros: The two biggest things that stand out for my use of Stripe is how fast, easy and affordable the system is, as well as how effective it is. From signup to actually being ready to take payments took only minutes, and bank accounts for deposits were confirmed in just a day or so. More over, the API system is very friendly and easy to use if you can't find an available add-on to work with Stripe. The most handy part I have found is the option to have Stripe's payment pages remain hosted and secured on their website. Most of the time this requires a redirect to another site entirely, however Stripe uses a small payment modal box that seamlessly integrates into your site, allowing the customer's data to remain secure AND to let me focus on operating the business rather than dealing with PCI Compliance - because Stripe handles all of that.

Cons: I don't really have a whole lot of negative things to say about Stripe. If there is anything negative it would be that sometimes it is a bit hard to find what I am looking for on their website, so that could be improved. The answers are there, you just have to dig.

Pros: Stripe was one of the first large scale payments company to support BitCoin payments. This tells me that they are an forward looking platform ready to embrace changes happening in payments world. Apart from BitCoin, they support Alipay, WeChatpay ,Apple Pay and other payment platforms popular in different parts of the world. It makes it easy to start accepting payments from any method using Stripe so that businesses are able to maximize their reach of customers.
It also offers a single dashboard with cutting edge analytics support for all the payment platforms.

Cons: Lack of telephone support is the biggest concern for me. They have an active twitter account to receive complaints but that doesn't seem to be the best option to reach customer care in case of a panic situation.Also, they are very slow in responding to their emails and supporting the merchants during the process of chargebacks. Also, their fraud detection and prevention algorithm is not as robust as that of PayPal's and generates a lot of false positives affecting the business.

Pros: Platform was easy to use, as was set-up and initial application process. Other than that, they were a nightmare.

Cons: They hold your money for over 7 days. When you've "used" them for a while, you supposedly can ask for an updated disbursement schedule. But, customer service doesn't have any control over who is allowed to go to a 2-day disbursement. If you don't run a lot of money through them, they won't let you switch to a quicker payment schedule and can't tell you why. When you ask questions with support, they give you a run-around. Not worth it when other processors charge the same rate and disburse funds faster

Pros: Great payment software! I can easily manage payments, give refunds, etc. to anyone I need. Stripe makes it easy.

Cons: Was a little hard setting up the account but I figured it out and after that it was fine. No other problems.

Pros: Being able to have full freedom of the billing process is incredibly useful. It can be setup to do a lot of things automatically, be as simple or as complex as needed, and be secure all at the same time.

Cons: Getting some of the custom features setup can be a little overwhelming at first, but the documentation is thorough to get through it.

Overall: Being able to create custom billing rules and conditions is my favorite thing about this software.

Comments: We sell at craft fairs and expos as well as invoicing for freelance work and it is always good to have more gateways for clients - some people don't trust Paypal or Amazon etc so offering choices is offering peace of mind. We also build out websites for clients from time to time and being able to setup Stripe so their site is going to be able to deal with payments is great. Paypal and Stripe are the two gateways we use the most and I lean toward Stripe.

Pros: The peace of mind PCI compliant gateway with offsite data. The Stripe gateway, while not as pervasive as PayPal has established itself and has a lot of integration going on, almost anyplace you can plug in Paypal you can use Stripe.

Cons: I haven't seen a stand alone product for stripe the way Paypal has built their payment iOS app and more integration would always be better.

Kindful and Stripe make a great duo!

Pros: As the processor behind the scenes of our database (Kindful), Stripe is simple and straightforward. Log in to see what donations you received, the details behind your deposits and the fees subtracted from the total.

Cons: For reconciling I prefer to have the fees charged separately but Stripe takes them out of your deposit. Wish they would consider changing that but for now it is what it is. At least they let you clearly see the breakdown.

I use Stripe in my daily job to process credit card transactions.

Pros: It is very user friendly. I like the Sigma feature, that makes exporting records so I can process them into our donor interface really easy.

Cons: I do not like that you have to create a customer, add a card, and then add a subscription. If I am setting up a subscription over the phone it is just easier and less steps to be able to have the customer created as I am creating the subscription.

Stripe competitively provides a great merchant solution.

Comments: Although never experienced first-hand, it has been reported that Stripe can increase rates with high-risk industries. Might consider inquiring about your industry.

Pros: Aside from Paypal, Stripe offers one of the easiest and fastest way to setup a merchant account allowing for quick merchant setup. Unlike traditional merchant applications which can literally take 2-6 weeks, Stripe takes only a fraction of time and doesn't require the rigorous supporting documentation. Open for business from day one.

Pros: I use Stripe for my credit card processing on my Squarespace eCommerce site. The platform is simple and straightforward. I can easily view my transactions and the breakdown of fees. I can also see if there are any declined transactions and it will provide the reason for the failure. The processing fees are pretty comparable to other options in the market. It works seamlessly with Squarespace, which makes transactions easy.

Cons: My biggest complaint about Stripe is how long it takes to get your money. I also use Square for credit card transactions and I always get my money the next day. Stripe can take 3-4 days to send my money to my bank. I also would love to get notifications when credit cards are declined. I had a regular customer try to order and she didn't realize it hadn't gone through, so she was awaiting her order. If I had seen the payment failure, I could have reached out to her to resolve the issue.

Great product once you setup. A little quirky if you don't know your way around

Pros: Easy to use. No user fees - all fees are on back end to the customer. Super easy to put API into other areas (website, social media, etc)

Cons: If you don't know your way around, not really intuitive to a non-techie. Once you figure it out, it's great, but not as easy as some of the other payment collection software functions.

Overall: I love that the fees are all on the user, not the administrator. No fees to use service to the business owner.

Pros: There was a bit of a learning curve but I love that I can create subscription payments for clients and its included in the services provided. The dashboard is clear and easy to read and understand and it integrates with a lot of other services that I use. I like to pricing structure offered.

Cons: Its not as easy to integrate some things as I would like. I am not the most tech savvy person, but have gotten help when needed to set things up that I didnt understand. Having an easier way to create payment buttons would be awesome. Otherwise there isnt really anything I dislike about stripe.

Overall: Its a great alternative to using PayPal and helped me to create payment gateways on platforms that i cant use paypal on. I love the mobile app for it also.

Pros: I like that I hardly ever need to go in an touch it, once a donor's info is in there and is being charged monthly, it is pretty low maintenance

Cons: We've had issues recently where some bank accounts have failed, because somehow their account info was edited. It then has sent info to our CRM, showing it was a successful transaction, when a few days later, in reality, it failed. The software also calls it a refund, when it wasn't a refunded transaction, but a failed one

Pros: Even though I use Paywhirl as my interface with Stripe, I do have to use their software to determine when payments will be transferred to my bank. I have found the interface very easy to use.

Cons: I'm not sure I could have set up a payment gateway from Stripe to my business so I used Paywhirl. It all works out fine.

Pros: It is linked to my SimplePractice software, so one button handles recording the payment in both systems. The output data is very helpful for tax purposes, but also gives you several options for payouts to your account directly.

Cons: It would be nice to customize the data in each batch to help identify customers a bit easier. Currently you have to open the transfer data to see the breakdown.

Pros: Stripe is simple to use and can be in working order in less than 3 days from when you register. I set it up for use with our Cvent registration software and it took less than 2 days to set up. We're confident that our money is secure going through this ecommerce gateway.

I was glad to have an option other than payflow pro by PayPal, I did not want to deal with their customer service.

Cons: We have about 2 event registration functions that are limited by our use of stripe. They were features that we didn't plan on using anyway. (partial payment for a group registration)

Pros: It's a secure system. Chances of making errors while handling client accounts is less cause most important actions are password protected.

Cons: I use Recurly too and I find that experience much simpler. The navigation and UI on Stripe isn't very friendly, especially for users who are new to such a product.

Pros: Stripe is a well known brand name, most people are comfortable processing payments via this method and their security is top notch. It's easy to set up plans, recurring payments, coupons and refunds. I'm not in accounting, but I have full access to act as one when it comes to helping customers out with billing issues.

Cons: Sometimes it's a bit hard to set up integrations that play nice with Stripe, for the most part it's been acceptable and hence it's not a deal breaker.

Overall: Ease of billing, refunds, fraudulent activity analysis and revenue recognition.

Pros: I like how immediate refunds are sent back to the card. It makes things really easy and it's great leverage when angry customers come yelling about how they don't see the refund because their bank simply hasn't processed it yet.

Cons: There's a few glitches that sometimes occur with failed charges when the customer updates their card: double charges and subscription switches, but that's about it! Also, some pages within the account display different coupons, or don't display all of them. I just learned last week that you can use the search tool to pull up coupons you might not see on the list, but are actually there!

Pros: The interface is clean and for the most part, easy to navigate. It's easy to generate full or partial refunds, update information, or generate additional invoice copies to different email addresses. Sometimes you have to dig for what you're looking for, but as long as you click around enough, you'll be likely to find it easily.

Cons: I understand, but don't love, that email is the only way to contact them. I don't need phones, but live chat would be helpful. Response time has been between 24 and 48 hours - I would hope that without phones or live chat, response time would go town to several hours given that billing issues can be time sensitive. I wish credit card decline issues had more detail - but that probably has more to do with the banks than with Stripe!

Overall: Great for a SaaS billing plugin - we're able to process our customer payments using Stripe, which makes everything easier.

Pros: It is sad to say that I cannot come up with anything that I like about this platform. I thought it was going to be great for my business until I was screwed by their greed.

Cons: Stripe does not refund any of the processing fees that they charge when you refund a customer card. I was fortunate enough to discover this after just one charge. This will leave you with a significant loss if you have a business that deals with a larger volume of refunds (such as vacation rentals). The support wasn't even nice enough to try and help me resolve this issue with a single refund. I highly suggest finding an alternate payment processor. I surely hope money was worth losing a customer and burning a bridge Stripe!

Pros: Stripe is simple and just works. Its been super reliable for me and allows me to store cards for my business, which is great added value for my clients.

Cons: The reporting is lacking. I have to use a separate spreadsheet software to get tally charges. And the IOS app has really small font. Payment takes awhile sometimes.

Pros: Stripe is not only reasonably priced but has powerful integrations with some of my favorite software like Gravity Forms (Wordpress). I've used it to make payment forms, donation forms, subscriptions (it does recurring payments) and more. One client needed something that could print shipping labels and it seems to seamlessly integrate with ShipRobot to do this, he was paying Paypal for this functionality (to take payments directly on his website).

Cons: The webhooks and other integrations can be a bit difficult to use. Note: don't forget to add other users BEFORE turning on two factor authentication or else the person helping you may have to call you to get that code for their access.

Overall: Online processing that integrates with everything I need it to and then some.

Pros: I have never had any problems with any money transfer with Stripe. It is eady for my guests to ues, accept multiple credit. / debit cards. The money transfer from Strip to my bank account is always on time.

Cons: Stripe does not have any phone customers services, all services is handed by email. It is difficult to sort out the credit cards stored in the register list if you e.g. want to delete cards which are not relevant anymore

Pros: Really good documentation, the connected account and ability to manage collected fees and payouts all on one platform makes it much easier than something like ADYEN.

Comments: Checking out Stripe is a must for anybody running a subscription business. It'll save you a lot of headaches.

Pros: Stripe is getting a lot of buzz for a reason. They've made it incredibly easy to build a subscription business. And who doesn't want a subscription business these days? I find the platform very intuitive, and you can literally be billing customers within an hour. For developers, the API is truly best-in-class.

Cons: As it's newer on the scene than say PayPal, there are some tools that don't integrate with it yet (although, see comment on API in pros). I wish it was a little easier to send individual invoices from. I find the process off billing a customer once to be a little lackluster compared to setting up a subscription.

Pros: The ability to run multiple accounts concurrently has made this my go to payment processor for multiple clients and my own business. I have been running it for 3 years without issue!

Pros: It has all the functionality of more expensive softwares: great reports, capability of different giving categories, ease of use, donor's full information. Pros: Helpful standard product to begin invoicing your clients. Some of the tool can be a bit complicated in terms of usages (my advice is to conduct more user testings). It's helpful though for any start-up or organization looking to ensure payment is made on-time, effectively.

Support is amazing and respond quickly with helpful info if you ever need to contact them.

Comments: How did we ever do payment processing before? I switched my legacy business from a traditional credit card processing company to Stripe and was able to save them 1.3% per transaction. When you do up to in credit card transactions per month, that's a big deal! The platform is so intuitive, and anyone can figure it out pretty quickly. Comments: I have a squarespace site with an ecommerce store and since Stripe is integrated into Squarespace, I decided to use them as my payment processor. They have been excellent and deposit money into my account fast. I am also surprised at how Stripe manages to stay on top of all the trends in ecommerce such as offering subscription payment services and even having integration with Facebook Stores and Twitter Shopping.

Pros: Easy to use Manages to constantly come out with new features Keeps up to date with new payment trends like Apple Pay, Subscription services, Twitter/Facebook shopping.

Overall: Stripe is one of the best (if not the best) platforms for accepting payments out there. Getting set up was very easy, and we have never had any issues so far.

Recommendations to other buyers: Compared with any other service like Paypal or Braintree, Stripe wins. Gocardless is a little cheaper, but Stripe has no direct debit guarantee which is great.

Comments: As a startup we wanted our expenses as low as possible. In order to pay our contractors for their work, we were using paper checks to pay them. Not only paying by checks was inefficient as we grew, but also managing pay outs to the contractors was a big task. We chose Stripe for this reason. Strip offers easy deposit features. We could easily sign up and within no time we were able to automatically without any manual work pay out to our contractors on a given time. All this done by our software automatically. Talk about efficiency and cost reduction on manual work.

Overall: We love the integration between our BEO management system ( Gather) and Stripe. Customers seamlessly approve proposals and move to pay. Card info is stored so I can refund or run subsequent charges later. It's all securely stored elsewhere so I'm not responsible for keeping it safe

Cons: Had to find a separate software to handle the invoicing.

Comments: Whenever we can, we prefer to use Stripe over other online payment systems. Stripe's fee model is simple and their integration capabilities are everything you need to sell your product. Pros: The fact that I was able to withdraw from a customers bank account directly .

Cons: That at the time I was with them they didn't have a card reader

Overall: Was great using their service . It made things much easier for me . My customers were happy with the advance services their offered . Happy customers means more money .

Cons: The only con is that handling chargebacks can be cumbersome if you run into them. Especially doing ecommerce work, we find that a lot of customers will simply do a chargeback instead of communicating with us to ask for a refund. Stripe's UI for chargebacks and disputes is good, but can be confusing to track the status of previous ones you've responded to.

Overall: I've been using Stripe as our sole payment processor for over a year now and it has been nothing but great! Their plug and play integrations (Kickstarter, Celery, Shopify, etc.) has made it simple for us to scale our Kickstarter project to a full-fledge ecommerce site. Payment processing is unbelievably simple, and the added benefit of Stripe's customer tracking makes it easy to see conversion and retention rates. Their API integrations and documentation are also stellar and has afforded us the ability to do custom integrations where needed. The analytics platform they offer is basic, but I appreciate the ability to see some barebones metrics from time to time as I'm making a quick glance - we use Baremetrics for our in-depth sales analytics.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're doing online sales, this platform will be your best friend!

Comments: Stripe has been the easiest, friendliest payment platform to integrate into our business processes. It connects with many of the other services and platforms we use, so many things have been very seamless! The only drawback is I wish they had more pull with the banks when there is clear evidence in merchant's favor over fraudulent disputes.
