### "A Convenient, Centralized Hub for AR"

May 23, 2026

4.0

Pros

Having our invoicing and accounts receivable in a single dashboard was helpful to a team that spans several time zones and has lots of moving pieces with various clients needing different billing cycles.

Cons

Stripe's percentage is quite high on the larger-ticket billing. We paid several hundred dollars with our initial client payments, and there are more cost-efficient ways to bill one-off customers.

Alternatives considered

[PayPal](https://www.capterra.com/p/207944/PayPal/)[Venmo](https://www.capterra.com/p/222572/Venmo-/)

Reason for choosing Stripe

We needed a bit more administrative oversight and accounting transparency for records and client management. Stripe delivered that.

### "A reliable, developer-friendly payment solution that scales with your business"

May 22, 2026

5.0

verall, Stripe is one of the most powerful and reliable payment processing platforms on the market. It strikes a great balance between ease of use for non-technical users and flexibility for developers. Despite the fee structure and occasional support delays, the platform's reliability, feature set, and global reach make it an excellent choice for businesses of all sizes. I would definitely recommend Stripe to any company looking for a modern, scalable payment solution.

Pros

Stripe has been a game-changer for our business. The setup process was incredibly smooth — we were able to start accepting payments within just a few hours. What I appreciate the most is the developer-friendly API and the extensive documentation, which makes integration straightforward, whether you're handling one-off payments, The wide range of supported payment methods (cards, SEPA, BANK transfers, etc.)

Cons

The transaction fees can be difficult to manage, especially for businesses with high volumes , connected Customer support is mostly handled via email or chat, and while the team is professional, response times can sometimes be slow for urgent issues. A more direct phone support option would be appreciated.

Developer-friendly API and documentation: Stripe's API is by far the most intuitive and well-documented on the market, which made integration significantly faster and smoother compared to competitors.

### "BEWARE! Stripe will steal your money"

June 25, 2026

1.0

WARNING TO SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS: STAY FAR AWAY FROM STRIPE Our experience with Stripe has been nothing short of a nightmare. We are a small, privately owned veterinary hospital that has spent years serving our community and caring for people's pets. Despite operating a legitimate business with documented transactions, Stripe suddenly withheld and removed nearly $7,000 from our account, placing a significant financial burden on our practice. What makes this situation even worse is the lack of meaningful support. Trying to get answers felt like running into a brick wall. We received generic responses, little transparency, and virtually no accountability while thousands of dollars that our business depended on remained inaccessible. For a small business, $7,000 is not a minor inconvenience. That money pays employees, covers medical supplies, supports patient care, and keeps the doors open. The fact that a company with Stripe's resources can freeze or remove funds while providing inadequate communication is deeply concerning. If you are a small business owner—especially a veterinary clinic, medical practice, or family-owned company—think very carefully before trusting Stripe with your payment processing. Based on our experience, the financial risk is simply too high. We expected a payment processor. Instead, we got stress, uncertainty, and thousands of dollars tied up with little explanation. We would never recommend Stripe to another small business.

Pros

There is not one single pro I can give Stripe. The only reason we "chose" stripe was because our PIMS, Daysmart, selected this company and recommended it.

Cons

Shady, incompetent, non-responsive, criminal, automated, outsourced, slanderous, no support, unbearable wait times with call centers who have no knowledge, empathy or understanding.

### "Reliable and Flexible Payment Processing with Stripe"

March 17, 2026

5.0

Overall, Stripe has been a dependable payment processing system for our business. It handles credit card payments efficiently, offers useful reporting tools, and provides a secure way to process transactions. The platform is generally easy to use, runs smoothly with minimal bugs or issues, and gives businesses the flexibility to customize integrations as needed. It has been a strong solution for managing online and card payments.

Pros

Stripe provides a reliable and flexible platform for processing credit card and card payments. The system offers good value for the service provided and integrates easily with websites and online ordering platforms. The dashboard is easy to navigate, making it simple to track payments, review reports, and manage payouts. Stripe also allows for customization and integrations that make it adaptable to different business needs. Overall, it provides a smooth payment experience for both the business and the customer.

Cons

There are not many major downsides to the platform. Some reporting tools and advanced settings can take a little time to learn when first using the system, but once you become familiar with the dashboard it becomes much easier to navigate.

### "overall experience has been excellent"

May 28, 2026

My overall experience has been excellent—everything has worked smoothly and exactly expected throughout!

Pros

Stripe makes accepting and managing payments feel simple while still offering powerful tools as a business grows.

Cons

Funds can be temporarily held for reviews, chargeback risk, or compliance checks, which can be frustrating for businesses that rely on regular cash flow.

### "Stripe experience"

May 26, 2026

4.0

Overall, Stripe has been convenient to use at my practice. It is integrated with my weave software so that feature is convenient. I also like the ability to see daily / weekly / monthly reports quickly.

Pros

Stripe has been easy to use and I really like the terminal functionality. It has tap to pay, swipe, or manual entry. It looks sleek as well. Also really like the text to pay option. The ability to automatically e-mail a patient a receipt is super helpful as well.

Cons

What I like least about Stripe is the credit card fees are a bit high especially for manual entry. Not as high for swiped card but still a bit pricey.

### "Easy and Reliable Payment Platform for Online Businesses"

May 28, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Stripe has been very positive. It is a reliable platform for processing card and online payments, and it integrates well with many websites and apps. The system feels secure, professional, and efficient for managing online business transactions. I would recommend Stripe to small businesses, freelancers, and online sellers looking for a trusted payment solution.

Pros

What I liked most about Stripe is how easy it is to use and set up. The platform makes accepting online payments simple, and the dashboard is very organized. I also like the fast payouts, mobile access, and the variety of payment options available for customers.

Cons

One thing I liked least is that customer support can sometimes take longer than expected to respond. Also, some features may feel a little complicated for beginners at first.

### "Works for my car lot"

July 8, 2026

5.0

For a dealership like mine Stripe has been a solid tool for taking deposits and payments without needing a bulky point of sale system. It is reliable most of the time and customers seem comfortable using it since it feels familiar and secure. The fees and occasional payment holds are the main drawback but for the convenience of taking payments remotely and keeping everything organized in one dashboard it has been worth using. I would recommend it to another small dealership owner as long as they go in knowing the fees will eat into bigger transactions a bit more than they might expect.

Pros

I run a small used car dealership and started using Stripe mainly to take deposits online for vehicles before customers came in to finalize paperwork. Setup was honestly a lot easier than I expected. I was worried it would take a full day of messing around but I had it connected to my website within an hour. Customers can put down a hold on a car remotely which has genuinely saved a few sales since people can act fast before someone else buys it in person. The dashboard makes it simple to see who paid, how much, and when, without me having to dig through emails or texts trying to remember who sent what. I also like that I can send a payment link straight to a customer’s phone if they are not near a computer, which happens a lot in my business since people are usually calling from the lot or from home.

Cons

The fees add up more than I expected once you are dealing with larger transaction amounts like vehicle deposits or full payments. A 3% fee on a $2k deposit is a lot different than a 3% fee on a normal online purchase. Customer support can also be slow when something actually goes wrong and in car sales timing really matters. Waiting on a support ticket while a customer is standing at the counter is stressful. There have also been a couple of times where a payment got flagged for review and took a day or two to clear, which is not ideal when someone is trying to buy a car same day.

### "ALL payments accepted"

May 23, 2026

5.0

Overall everything is good, as I mentioned before, I believe that the fees could be less, but the most important feature to me is the integration with payment clients such as Klarna

Pros

I like the ease of use. I like the quick turnaround from application process, to collecting payments from customers

Cons

I don’t like the fees. Out of a $100 payment, I only receive $93 dollars. That’s almost 10%. Fees closer to what PayPal charges would be better.

### "A modern and reliable Platform "

May 15, 2026

3.0

Overall, my experience with Stripe has been very positive, especially from a functionality and scalability standpoint. It’s a powerful platform that excels at handling everything from simple payment processing to more advanced use cases like subscriptions, invoicing, and global transactions. The system feels modern and reliable, and it’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into making it adaptable for different types of organizations.

Pros

What I like most about Stripe is how developer-friendly and flexible the platform is. Stripe really stands out for making complex payment processing feel intuitive, with clean APIs, excellent documentation, and a structure that allows you to scale from a simple checkout to a fully customized payment ecosystem.

Cons

One of the main drawbacks of Stripe is that its flexibility can come with complexity, especially for non-technical users. While developers tend to love it, those without coding experience may find the setup, customization, and deeper features a bit overwhelming compared to more plug-and-play platforms.

### "Overall, a great program that is easy to use."

January 20, 2026

5.0

Overall, I enjoy using Stripe. It is easy to use for clients. I have not received any complaints about the program from customers.

Pros

I love that Stripe links to all of the various platforms I use for my business. It is easy to use and is an easy way to accept credit card payments anywhere.

Cons

I do not like that there are multiple separate accounts with the same name under my business's Stripe account. I wish they were listed with the account they are linked to. I have left some open that could be closed, because I cannot tell which ones need to be deleted.

We have been using stripe fir over 9 years and never had any major issues. We only uad a snall issue and the team at stripe helped and cleared it right away. Other than the cost we are happy with it.

Pros

Cons

### "Set It And Forget It Payment System"

December 21, 2025

5.0

Almost never have we run into a bug, and more often than not, a message from Stripe is straight forward, with solid support, and works without any intervention after setup.

Pros

Stripe directly integrates with all of our fundraising systems, making it easy to accept credit cards for donations, merch, or any other revenue stream. The space is very competitive with few players, but Stripe has been the most seamless of the players out there.

Cons

Sometimes the system cannot integrate with a partner software, though this happens extremely rarely. The reporting also can be clunky at time and the fees can be a bit high, but not much different that other providers.

Alternatives considered

[Square Payments](https://www.capterra.com/p/170278/Square-Payments-Processing/)

Reason for choosing Stripe

The integrations were not nearly as robust on Square, which would have required us setting up multiple payment systems to handle different channels for our organziation.

### "Stripe is a game changer for small business - Quick set up and easy to use."

May 5, 2025

5.0

I've used Stripe for over a year with multiple transactions, refunds, additional fees and I've had no issue receiving payments. All transactions have processed within the time frame provided.

Pros

Stripe's payment processing tool is very ease to use. It didn't take long to set up. With their two factor authentication and encryption, I felt confident that my transactions were safe.

Cons

The fees. All processors have them, and you can pass them on to customers so it is just a part of the industry. I've researched many vendors promising no fees, but they always seem to work them in.

### "The most intuitive payment system for growing businesses"

April 6, 2026

4.0

My experience has been very positive overall. It is a reliable, all-in-one ecosystem that has allowed me to scale my business from a simple mobile reader to a full retail setup. It simplifies my daily operations by keeping my sales, inventory, and deposits in one synchronized place.

Pros

I really value how plug-and-play the entire system is. I can take a card reader out of the box and start accepting payments in minutes without a complex merchant bank approval process. The interface is incredibly clean, which makes training my staff effortless, and the hardware looks professional on my counter.

Cons

The flat-rate transaction fees can become quite expensive as my sales volume grows, and I wish there was more room to negotiate rates. I also find it frustrating that getting a live person on the phone for technical support can be difficult during busy weekend hours.

### "Most versatile payment processing solution. "

Overall, this tool has been a saving grace for credit card processing. Without Stripe's efficient system, I would be losing money!

Pros

Hands down the best card payment solution in existence. Processing credit card payments through Stripe is so simple. It is incredibly easy to use and has a whole heap of information available from customer support. Their engineering teams are always resolving bugs and issues...and quickly!

Cons

It is a powerful tool and can be a little cumbersome integrating into some solutions. Their APIs are very well engineered, but can be overwhelming to some. Thankfully their customer support is there to assist!

### "So far so good!"

September 4, 2025

4.0

I needed something fast and reliable with different payment methods so that I could offer more payment possibilities to my students and Stripe has just done that. The fact that it is such a famous and reliable online payment platform is definitely a plus as it meant I could connect my booking system to it quickly and securely. The less tools, accounts, and plugins I have to use for my business, the better.

Pros

It's working! No issues so far. It's doing what it is supposed to be doing. On top of that the fees for EU are descent enough (especially when customers are using Revolut Pay). I have very much liked using the Test mode at first (especially before receiving your first payment) to make sure everything was working as it should (peace of mind). Even though I am not an expert, creating products and payment links was pretty straight forward and easy. PLUS, I now have a system that sends receipts automatically for me... saving me so much time that I can now put into creating content, marketing, etc.

Cons

I wish there was a way to create folders for products and link payments instead of having a long list to scroll through. It would be more pleasing to the eyes and definitely a nicer way to keep everything organised. I wish there was a way to bulk edit some of the features of payments links. For instance, I have created several payment link for different products but I want my After Payment custom message to be the same, so I have to go in each one of them to customise the message one after the other. It did take a while to get my first payments to land in my account... but to be honest, it's not a huge drawback (must be needed I guess to help against fraudsters).

Pros

### "Payment software with a price"

April 16, 2026

3.0

Really like Stripe. It's very easy to set up and let it run, however there are a couple issues that as long as you use it how they want it to, it's fine. It doesn't feel as seamless as some of the other types of this software

Pros

Stripe is really easy to use and set up, as well as the ability to have it integrate into different aspects of your business. I like the ability to set up a Stripe feed in Xero or to create invoices so that when payments come in it will automatically mark the payment to the invoice

Cons

I haven't found a simple way to get invoices created in Stripe into Xero without manually creating every one. There are also slightly hidden fees like 'automatic taxes' which took about 10 minutes to figure out what it was for and then subsequently turn off that 'feature'

### "Additional payment methods for clients"

October 30, 2025

5.0

Easy to set up and works in the background payments are transferred to our bank and show up in our accounting software automatically

Pros

We like how we can intergrate stripe with our accounting software allowing clients to pay by debit card or credit card direct from their invoice. There is a small processing fee but we feel this is worth it as it gives clients more payment options and encourages them to pay immediately. We have also used stripe when selling merchandise online. We had no issues setting this up and have had no bugs.

Cons

There are small processing fees which is expected. You have to way up the cost with the speed of payments.

Pros

Cons

Pros

Cons

Stripe takes a fee off of the transactions which decreases my revenue. I would have liked to see more options for type of payments available.
