I have a business and personal account set up with Stripe. It has been a smooth sailing experience. It was not hard to set up the account and not hard to get the card swipe that you can take with you. The customer service is great if you have any questions. They are fast at response time.

Pros

It was offered with my new business and has a free option. There is a credit card swipe you can take with you,

Cons

How much it cost when you use the card machine. I like that you can take it with you just that they take so much out when it processes.

I have used Stripe for personal online transactions and have generally found the payment process smooth, secure, and easy to complete.

Pros

Stripe makes online payments straightforward and generally requires very little effort from the user. The payment process is clean, quick, and provides clear confirmation once a transaction is completed.

Cons

From a personal user's perspective, there is not much visibility into Stripe itself since most of the experience happens through the website or service where the payment is being made.

Positive overall. Stripe is the piece of our payments infrastructure we think about least, which is exactly what you want from a payment processor. It's handled thousands of subscription renewals across a multi-year membership program with essentially zero processor-side failures. I'd choose it again.

Pros

Stripe has been rock-solid for processing recurring subscription payments on our membership and training business. We run WooCommerce Subscriptions with multiple installment plan variants, and Stripe handles the recurring billing, card updates, and retries without drama.

Cons

Processing fees add up at volume, especially on installment plans where the same customer generates twelve separate transactions instead of one. Dunning and failed-payment recovery is functional but basic out of the box. We've had to build our own reporting to identify and act on at-risk subscribers rather than relying on Stripe's native tooling.

Over 1 year, Stripe proved ideal for credit card payments and card payments. Outstanding ease of use and value for money outweigh minor bugs and issues, while client support and customer support handle routine queries well.

Pros

Processing card payments and credit card payments is effortless thanks to excellent developer tools. Great ease of use, reliable client support, strong customer support, and good value for money keep bugs and issues rare.

Cons

Higher processing fees impact value for money at scale. Customer support and client support can feel slow on dispute appeals, while edge case bugs and issues in webhook retries disrupt ease of use for card payments and credit card payments.

In the months we have been using it day to day I have used Stripe for day-to-day work with Stripe. This is how the tool behaves for us right now, not how a demo looked. On the positive side, contractor payouts that we used to batch on Mondays now go out the same afternoon we approve the hours. The constructive side is equally specific: support replies have been fine when we have written in, just not fast enough for a payment that is stuck at 4:50 p. M. On a payday. For a team our size, that tradeoff is one I can live with, and we are still on it.

Pros

In the months we have been using it day to day I have used Stripe almost every working day for day-to-day work with Stripe. Mobile payments are not a novelty for us; they are how the front desk finishes checkout while the client is still standing there. A typical in-person collection that used to stall at the desk now finishes before the client is out the door. Notifications are noisy on a busy day, but they are reliable — I would rather clear a few extras than miss a failed send.

Cons

What I like least is straightforward. Support replies have been fine when we have written in, just not fast enough for a payment that is stuck at 4:50 p. M. On a payday. The business activity view is thinner than a full merchant dashboard — filtering a busy month by client still takes more tapping than it should. None of this is a reason to leave, but it is the part of the week I notice.

Overall Stripe has been great with payment gateway, and I have never felt the need for another payment gateway for my business.

Pros

Stripe is very user friendly payment gateway. I have been using it since 2018 and I have never felt the need to get any other payment gateway for receiving online payments. The security system is so enhanced that it automatically detects fraudulent payments and blocks it before the transaction goes through.

Cons

The invoicing with Stripe is not very pleasing as it has basic templates which I do not use, because I require some additional lines to add to my invoice.

Reasons for choosing Stripe

Stripe has a special program called Atlas. It helped me register my company in the US and also helped me in getting a US bank account. After all this, Stripe also provided me with the payment processor. This facility was not available with any other company.

Overall I have had a wonderful experience using Stripe's services. It has truly been a life saver for me.

Pros

I like that Stripe accepts all major debit/credit cards!!!!! It also is very beginner-friendly and has a lot of great features to help you along the way!!!!

Cons

The number one thing that I consider a con is Stripe does not have a great customer support system!!!! It is very hard to get in touch with anyone via phone. All you basically have to rely on is chat and email for support.

Watch out for this company. Our experience has been absolutely terrible. Out of the blue, we received threatening emails stating that they were going to stop processing our payments and close our account, despite us having done nothing wrong. When we called them to find out what was happening, we were told there was "nothing to worry about", yet they continued sending intimidating emails demanding documents and personal information before they would even discuss the matter with us. The whole experience felt very unprofessional and concerning. As a business, you simply can't afford to have your payment provider putting your company at risk like this. There are plenty of other reputable payment providers available, so we switched immediately. Based on our experience, I would not recommend trusting this company with your business.

Overall, my experience with Stripe has been positive. It is a reliable and user-friendly payment processing platform that is easy to set up and integrates well with many applications. Payment processing is smooth, reporting tools are helpful, and the platform is secure. While customer support and account reviews could be improved, Stripe has been a dependable solution for managing online payments.

Pros

What I liked most about Stripe was how easy it was to set up and use. The platform has a clean, intuitive interface, reliable payment processing, and integrates well with websites and other business tools. It also provides detailed reporting, strong security features, and a smooth checkout experience for customers.

Cons

One downside of Stripe is that customer support can be slow or difficult to reach for complex issues. Some account reviews or payment holds may take time to resolve, and the platform's pricing can become expensive for businesses with high transaction volumes or those needing advanced features.
