May 9, 2018 4.0 Pros Like many payment gateways, Stripe integrates easily into the major E-commerce solutions on the market. When launching my first online store, Stripe was a great solution to accept credit cards securely. The platform is very user-friendly and offers easy reporting so you can stay on top of your books. The credit card processing rates for Stripe are industry standard. Cons Depending on your preferred way to get paid, other solutions have emerged over the past year or so that offer more payment options for customers. Pros It just works and the fees are small enough. The most important fact form me is to how easy it is to integrate it for developers. It's also really popular so it's easy to find tools that work with Stripe and can be added on top of it. Cons It's almost perfect. The only drawback is that Stripe is unavailable in many countries. Pros It's super easy to set up and it integrates to most shopping carts. As a web designer, this is very convenient. Cons I found the rates were a little high. Especially when you didn't have a signature to submit with the payment. Also, if you sell expensive products, Stripe can be very expensive because their rates are per transaction. It's simple, straightforward, and doesn't require a lot of technical struggle in terms of implementation and maintenance. We never even had to contact support which is the best prove of the platform quality Pros We started providing it as an additional option to PayPal for our users and found it much easier to integrate. The dashboard did take me some time to figure out (like canceling user subscription took me a few moments to figure) but PayPal is still worse, even after that major redesign of theirs. We are considering to switch off PayPal. The only thing that's stopping us is that many of our users like using PayPal for everything Cons You do need tech help to integrate it while with PayPal you can handle the whole thing on your own (using buttons). Pros From an accounting/admin perspective, I like that I can easily find the financial data I need in Stripe. We haven't had any problems from an end-user (customer) perspective so I'm happy to hear no complaints from them. Cons I don't like that there's no PRINT feature on some of the pages and data that I need to print for my files. Also, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to send a receipt to the customer if for some reason they never received it originally. Review Source Zontrey T. Pros I love how well Stripe plays with platforms such as Wufoo and Planning Center Online. It's very easy to receive payments with the platforms I setup forms and registration for. Cons This software doesn't do well with a shared login in terms of verification via text/email. Pros I use square through a software platform so do not have hands-on use of their app. I just receive payment from them and they process payments relatively quickly. Cons It sometimes takes longer, up to five days to receive payment than I would with their competitors like Square, Venmo or Paypal. Switched from [Square Virtual Terminal](https://www.capterra.com/p/190305/Square-Payments-Processing/) I use this because it is embedded in another platform I use and is slightly less expensive than Square. Pros Stripe has very low fees compared to competitors, the API is great and the merchant agreement is very fair towards our business, the card issuing feature is great also. Easy to get going, but the UX part can be a bit difficult to maneuver in – but its like that for everybody dealing with real money in the digital space. Pros Well this product is cheap compared to a lot of its competitors. Furthermore the integration is insanely easy to do which gets you off the ground quickly. Cons It can be very complicated to use. This product has definitely not been UX tested by normal vendors, as it seems to be made very much from a backend perspective. Lots of room for improvement on this. It works well in both cases. It is easy to set up, has an easy to use dashboard, and some great integrations with popular CMS's. Pros Great developer tools Flat-rate pricing Advanced reporting tools Excellent marketplace tools Multi-currency support Integration with Shopify (and therefore HubSpot) Cons Can be difficult to set up if you need to send payments to different accounts. For example, multiple events hosted by different departments within an organization. Pros I like that Stripe exists as an alternative to PayPal as a lot of people don't trust PP. There is a smooth, easy to use check out when using Stripe. Cons I don't prefer how long this app takes to hold my earnings. The funds just seem to sit in the application for so long in particular when Cash app and Zelle are pretty immediate. Their check cart looks very professional and clean. Their fees are also very reasonable. Cons From a functionality perspective if a customer accidentally purchases our product, stripe only allows us to refund the charge, rather then void the charge. It takes care of all the stuff you don't want to like recharging after failed transactions, providing nice looking invoice, and just generally abstracting away everything related to payments so you don't have to worry about it. Pros Stripe is very user friendly overall. It was easy to integrate into our webapp and we can quickly close, forgive, and recharge invoices when requested by a customer. Cons The coupon system needs improvement. We've had issues with coupons deals not persisting. Also some of the common actions like "close invoice" are hidden behind dropdown buttons when they really should be brought forward as their own selection. Review Source Mike W.
