Pros: All data can be searched/filtered without having to write a report or query, it can all be done on your screen. Then using the desired search results a report built providing additional data and details for the data set.

Cons: There isn't a capability of recording a gift that is split between desired donor designations. This creates a problem when assigning stewards and receipting.

Pros: I've worked with and tried about 10 CRMs at this point and Little Green Light is by far the best, especially for the price. Super impressed by the Flex Importer data importer.. extremely easy to use and imported all of the different data objects (exported from a different CRM) just perfectly. LGL Forms is great - easy to set up donation and event forms and connect form fields to specific database/CRM fields, and fantastic that LGL has a validation step for any data coming in from the web forms so that incoming data can be checked before entering the database. With come CRMs priced at $200/mo or more, LGL is a bargain. I came to LGL from a very bad Salesforce experience (THE worst and most difficult CRM I have ever used) and LGL was the perfect antidote. I have set up LGL for 2 non-profit clients and will highly recommend to any future clients.

Cons: LGL Forms could be a little better integrated in the main LGL interface. I was able to figure it out pretty easily but the interface/look & feel difference may confuse some users.

Little Green Light has revolutionized our donor tracking, making us more efficient and effective.

Pros: LGL is extremely flexible. It can be made to do just about anything related to donor management. The search and reporting functions are extremely helpful, and the built-in metrics are just what we need to get a quick and thorough view of our progress. Also, the flex importer made the transition very easy.

Cons: The interface is dry, and can be complicated. The learning curve is pretty steep at times, and there are many more untapped opportunities to make the most of the platform that we may never get to. Thankfully the guide is helpful.

This is an amazing fundraising solution, especially for the price.

Pros: Little Green Light is easy to use and quite robust. You can customize forms that go to your website, register people, receive donations and record everything you need all in one solution that is so reasonably priced.

Cons: I really can't complain about little green light. You can export information to csv files easy enough. I do wish it had a more robust reporting tool.

Overall: Little Green Light allowed us to streamline all of our contacts, donors, events, mail lists into one database. We are still learning all of what it can do but it has increased productivity significantly.

Pros: Our Foundation likes mostly that this software provides an easy report and review of our constituents. We are able to communicate and track donations in various ways. Through giving campaigns, appeal year, or constituent searches we are able to manage a database of close to 5,000 donors at a minimal cost. Other systems were triple the price.

Cons: The only difficulty we were faced with in this system was during our database import. Import configuration did take some time doing this on our own. It may be beneficial to have someone organize your database for you than to map your fields on your own.

Overall: The benefit of being able to easily access our constituents from one database. As well as the ability to pull reports.

Little Green Light got me off to a good start with training & support. I'm new to the game!

Pros: Once one gets into it, the flow of data entry is just about intuitive. I have participated in tele-training and find it helpful. I have also asked specific questions through the "help" feature and heard back promptly. I might not use all of the features; but know they are there for me.

Cons: I had a few glitches at first - I mis-entered my previous excel data base (my fault) and needed to do some manual clean up - which actually made me more aware of our constituents.

Overall: Organizing the date better - easier to create mailing labels. Will use it to generate thank you letters and other correspondence. Makes me more efficient.

It is the first database I learn how to use and it is quite intuitive. Great customer support.

Pros: I don't think I am using it at its full potential. Right now I am really enjoying the capability of gathering information through variuous forms. Maybe the exporting and reporting part will be more challenging once I get there.

Cons: I am not sure yet. I am in the process of setting up forms and inputing consituents. I am sure that many questions will arise once I have to report on the information I am compiling.

Overall: As I have mentioned, I do not have any comparison product. This is my first time with databases so to me it is quite useful.

Pros: LGL is really user-friendly, without much need for training. I can pull any report I want, create a segmented appeal and make it into a mailing, and do anything else I need. I don't enter the donations for my nonprofit but I believe it's quite easy, based on what my colleague says. LGL Forms are super useful and pretty easy to set up. Whenever I've had a problem, their customer support has been very responsive and helpful. It seems like they genuinely care about my needs.

LGL is invaluable to our small organization. As the sole staff person, it keeps me on track.

Pros: It is very user-friendly, and the support is excellent. I was able to transfer all our Excel spreadsheet records into LGL by myself, and I was up and running. I haven't had any significant problems and always feel like I can find the information I need.

Cons: Sometimes there are some glitches in the spacing of MS Word templates, which is frustrating and apparently unfixable, but that is it.

Overall: Better organization. Nothing falling through the cracks. Better ability to track fundraising progress over time and contact with constituents.

We are a small non-profit & LGL has been excellent for our needs. Great functionality.

Pros: Customer service is TOP NOTCH. They are also always improving & seem to appreciate feedback on expanding functionality for users. Even if they never improved anything else, I would be very happy with using this product. I have been using databases for decades and this is the best I've used so far.

Cons: A few minor items missing from functionality that I personally consider necessary; for instance: marking a communication tag of "Do not email" doesn't prevent someone from emailing that individual. Some query/search parameters could use a little work.

Overall: Too many to list! Ease of use, particularly for my Executive Director. Customization abilities are fantastic.

Pros: It is sophisticated and, yet, easy to use. Support staff is responsive and helpful. It has all the features we want and is able to give us the data and information we need without writing SQL statements, like some other top-name products require. In fact, the dashboard gives us our membership numbers without even having to run a query. Excellent value. I love the comparatively low cost to other similar products. I love Little Green Light so much, I have implemented it in three organizations I'm associated with.

Cons: Linking forms to the Little Green Light database can be complicated. Occasionally, I'd like to talk with a support person to strategize a solution, rather that just communicating by email.

Overall: I have used a lot of database and donor management products and Little Green Light is the simplest to set up and use of any of them, especially for unsophisticated database users. It still requires a knowledgeable person to lead the implementation, import data, design complicated forms, set up syncing between forms and the database, and train other staff, but staff can easily grow comfortable with using LGL for all their daily data needs. LGL has a clean interface, is responsive, and flexible. Although there are a few things I'd like to work a little easier, especially setting up links between forms and the database, all-in-all, I highly recommend this product. Non-profit database systems don't come any easier, especially with all the features LGL offers.

I use Little Green Light to keep up with my non-profit clients' donations and other income .

Pros: LGL integrates with Paypal and Constant Contact. It also allows me to pull various reports very quickly.

Cons: LGL doesn't have a bulk edit option to change the gift type. LGL doesn't integrate with Quickbooks (that I know of).

Overall: Integration with Paypal and Constant Contact and the ability to pull reports quickly.

Pros: Ease of use, a detail you get from reports, quick response from Support, ability to allow "viewing access only", ability to email within the program.

Cons: The inability to scroll through (or go to the next) constituent when I am viewing or making changes/corrections.

Pros: Intuitive, cost effective, strong customer support. The help function is comprehensive and usually does not require additional outreach to LGL Staff. Easy to customize even for someone who does not use it on a daily basis.

Cons: Doesn't play well with Apple computers and the drafting documents in the app itself is a bit clunky. It can be done, however. Labels to my Mac have formatting problems. Since I am a volunteer, I use the app at home and am stuck with the work arounds.

User friendly product that integrates well with websites and email marketing platforms.

Pros: Easy to use - intuitive and very easy to teach folks how to use it i"m a non-profit consultant and I have 10 clients using LGL. Love the remote web based access.

Cons: Editing steward info - cumbersome adding/removing team members without loss of data. Mostly I love it there are no cons.

Overall: I can work from anywhere with a client.

Pros: How intuitive it is, which makes it easy and more likely that people will put information in. I believe that if people don't know how to get information out, they don't put information in.

Cons: They are addressing the addition of features. It would be helpful to know what features are going to be added and in what expected time frame.

Pros: Now that I have used LGL for some time, I appreciate features such as the gift acknowledgement process, which automatically generates thank you letters once a gift or pledge is entered. I also like the pledge recording functionality and the automation in building out the pledge schedule, which will assist with getting pledge reminders out.

Overall: Once I learned how to use it properly, it helped me to automate processes in my office.

Comments: Little Green Light is a great platform for a growing non-profit.

Pros: Little Green Light (LGL) makes it SO easy to search, edit, and update info on members. I'm able to track and engage with members much easier than I use. Plus importing and exporting content through excel is super easy. The platform is jam-packed with features...everything you could ever need for membership, donor, and volunteer management.

Cons: There's almost too many features! I've gotten use to overlooking things that don't apply to my organization's needs but being able to turn certain things off would be helpful.

Comments: Customer service is top notch. I've gotten answers within 5 minutes and didn't need any more help. LGL is very intuitive and easy to learn. The importing and mapping was super easy and everything went really well. My organization migrated from Frontstreams' Giftworks to LGL and we liked LGL even more than Giftworks newest platform...plus it's half the price!

Pros: - Easy to use - Great value for everything you get - Great customer service - Powerful reporting - Has a "bulk edit" feature that makes changes so easy and fast - Attractive design

Cons: I don't have any cons so far, I've been using Little Green Light for 2 months now and I love everything about it so far.

Comments: I LOVE Little Green Light and would highly recommend it to any non-profit organization. I have already referred another organization who is using it

Comments: I've brought LGL to two independent schools in my capacity as an Advancement Director and it's made a world of difference in both places. Customer service is fantastic -- I've received quick feedback even on holidays. The team has also added new options at our request when needed (e.g. adding an employment title field for spouses). Can't say enough good things about it.

Pros: Easy to use and to quickly find the data you need, responsive customer service, always improving as customer needs change and grow.

Cons: There are no "cons" that I can think of. My experience at two schools with LGL has always been positive, which isn't something I can say about other donor databases I used.

Pros: Robust capability for managing basic member data and donation records, powerful search function, convenient generating of acknowledgment letters and emails, web-based forms, and terrific tech support.

Cons: The member records are so robust and complex, sometimes it can be a bit challenging to navigate the various levels and options.

Overall: After years of keeping our member/donor database in an Excel spreadsheet that was passed along from volunteer to volunteer, we wanted to find an online database that would maintain contact/donor info while allowing multiple users and also being affordable. Little Green Light has exceeded our expectations. We were able to sign up for a 1-year trial for the cost of one month, through a special offer from TechSoup. It has been a fantastic way to become familiar with LGL and begin to explore its many capabilities. I will be recommending to our board that we sign up permanently, as it will help to move our nonprofit to a higher level of sophistication and strengthen our fundraising capabilities. Compared to similar products we've looked at, LGL is the best bet for the buck, hands down. Given its affordable price and powerful features -- not to mention its various tutorials and options for tech support -- LGL is the perfect choice for many small to medium nonprofits. This last spring, for the first time, we were able to zero in on a highly specialized list for our annual fundraiser invitation list, using LGL's powerful search tool, helping us to achieve one of our most successful fundraising events in recent years.

Comments: For the tiny non profit we are, I think it serves us well.

Pros: It is affordable for a small non profit and doesn't have too many fancy features we can't or won't use. Pretty intuitive as well.

Cons: For any additional features, you need to buy additional software which increases the price. I was kind of going they would have the ability to email from the software. That seemed pretty basic. Also generating letters to print has been problematic.

Comments: A lot of the challenges we have with using this software comes mostly from implementation snafus; lots of trial and error. My advice to avoid this is to set aside a month or two for one staffer (or a team if you're blessed with one of those) to focus exclusively on how the software will be implemented, who needs to use what tools when, and to set up formal procedures before it goes into active use.

Pros: -easy to learn -love love love the form creation tools -streamlined integration with other platforms, after some work (MailChimp is the one we use most often) -flexible categorization of constituents -a very responsive support team

Cons: -not as customizable as I would like -heavy reliance on integration with other platforms -have had some issues with integration syncing

Comments: Customer service is friendly but I don't like that I can't reach them immediately.

Pros: This is great if you are a smaller organization--maybe no more than 2,000-3,000 donors. It features basic gift entry, pledges, contact info, etc. If you are a nonprofit just getting started, this could work for you.

Cons: Not intuitive. Hard to learn. Tutorials are complicated. I've been working with it for 4 years now and still not sure how to run reports. Not robust nor intuitive. Our organization has moved past the effectiveness threshold of this product, and we are looking at others.

Comments: Overall a wonderful program.

Pros: Ease of Access, Being able to setup multiple events, campaigns, etc. with seamless transition. Even though I have worked with other CRM's/Operating systems before I appreciate the startup/upload phase of data to be the smoothest to date.

Cons: I appreciate the ability to add almost unlimited amounts of data about a patron/consituent. It would be better if I could customize some of the titles as they do not completely apply to arts programs. I enjoy being able to filter through most options, would look for more development in mailings and e-mails.

Comments: If you are looking for a cheap and inclusive system this is it! Can do almost everything you need! Some of the reasons we left was that it was limited in some functionality and the forms were not very engaging on the front-end. Also, the user-friendliness on the back-end.

Pros: The help/faq section, tutorials, etc. Everything you need to know is in there with great examples. It's extremely easy to figure out.

Cons: I haven't found anything yet, but it's only been a month.

Overall: At first, we thought it would be a basic database type CRM, since the price is so reasonable. We needed more than that, and we got all that we needed. The generation of the acknowledgments, reports and the batching couldn't be easier. And, I can't tell you how great the customer service is. Top notch.

Recommendations to other buyers: If you're a low volume user, keep up with the classes, tutorials. They're there, might as well use them.

LGL has made my life so much easier!!!

Cons: It takes awhile to figure out which fields to use for what but I think that would be the case for any software and depends on a lot on how you approach development

Overall: I converted my organization's database from FundRaiser in July and have not once regretted my decision. We previously tried to convert to a different database and after 2 days of on-site training with that company, I couldn't even locate a sample record. On the other hand, not only did I (and I'm not a tech person) migrate our entire database myself and merge additional Excel documents in, after only a couple of hours of reading instructions and playing around, I already understood not only how to locate a record but how to enter, report, send an acknowledgement, etc. I occasionally run into things that I can't figure out on my own or by reading the LGL blog but when I reach out to customer service, they respond so quickly and always are able to resolve my issue. I really can't think of anything that can't be done through LGL. We're so happy with it that we're now looking at integrating our payment processing and e-newsletter system so that we have the best data on our constituents possible. I cannot say enough good things about this product. For a small organization like ours with no tech support, this has been a blessing since it is so easy to use and so reasonably priced.

Overall: We are a small nonprofit that didn't have a large donor base and didn't have a lot of money to spend on a database. We stumbled upon LGL and it was the best choice! It is very easy to use and modify to create fields specific to your needs. No setup fee, all cloud based, you can have as many users as you'd like and it starts at a monthly rate. It's awesome. We are a school, so we use it to track prospective students all the way through alumnae, families, donors, etc. It does it all for us. I highly recommend this to any small organization that wants to transition away from using excel docs to track clients & donors.

Pros: It's easy. I'm used to a lot of additional gimmicks and fields that only make understanding more complicated in the end. LGL does everything a big database does but is so much simpler to understand.

Cons: From a small-medium size nonprofit, I don't have any complaints! For big nonprofits that may integrate with other database systems, this system may not be that product... outside of that, this system helps nonprofits do their jobs easily!

Overall: As an experienced database manager, primarily using the most expensive software out there on the market (and those just below the price level), nonprofits need to consider Little Green Light as their software go-to. It's easy to use - from a novice to an expert - it makes all the sense in the world nonprofits needs to build, maintain and grow their database, it's cost effective and the support is instant. LGL is the database nonprofits have needed all along... but instead struggle to make a more expensive system work while pinching pennies to do good in the world. Their trial period is all you need to fall in love and make the switch! I would recommend LGL to anyone out there looking to build their nonprofit database - or switch from their current one to a new, more robust system that costs less but is as effective as anything out there.

Recommendations to other buyers: The back-end system that's been built, the nonprofit/database/systematic knowledge that's gone into this system is to be applauded. What also should be applauded is the mindset of management/developers to produce a product that benefits the greater good. Pros: The flexibility of LGL to accommodate and streamline multiple softwares, such as volunteer software, grant software, donor software, client software, calendars, tasks, etc. LGL has been so helpful in suggesting solutions, and allowing us to eliminate several costly, single-use software products. Their support and help sections are unheard of! I have NEVER dealt with a company that is so prompt in their responses and so helpful. They have webinars and many video trainings available to do on your own time. And their cost is one-fourth of what we paid previously for our old dinosaur program. Queries and programs are very easy to use. Very modern look, totally customizable for your organization. You will be amazed at everything it is capable of.

Cons: The only thing I wish it would do is have an appeal performance report, and I believe that is in the works now.

Overall: I have assisted 2 nonprofits in switching to LGL. It was a huge undertaking with the first one, over 40,000 constituents and 350,000 gifts to migrate over. They helped me find a qualified consultant, and we accomplished it in a very timely manner. The end result is Fabulous! I would HIGHLY recommend for anyone looking for a flexible, all-encompassing software!

Recommendations to other buyers: Look around at all the other software that is available. You will see that Little Green Light is an exceptional bargain for all that you get. We are currently tracking donations, volunteers, clients, and grants. Their prices are very fair for large companies with a lot of constituents, which is rare in this industry. We pay one-fourth of what we were paying previously. Our previous company's help was marginal, and they specialized in making you feel stupid when you contacted them! Not LGL. They are kind, honest and very informative. You get a free month trial with LGL, plus if you refer other companies, they reward you with credit on your account. It's a win-win situation all around.

Pros: As a fundraiser, it's intuitive and has all the features I appreciate and need to support my moves management work. As the database administrator, chief data entry staffer, list- and report-creator and website integration specialist, it's intuitive with great customer service and on-line resources to allow me to meet our organization's needs.

Given the opportunity, I would have selected LGL for my previous organizations. It's got all of the meaningful and useful features to support fundraising and data management needs without requiring us to pay for bells and whistles that sound great to upper management (and those who aren't on the front-lines for fundraising) but keep the majority of users from being able to take full advantage of the system.

Cons: There are a lot of great integrations, but since we don't use the bulk emailing products supported by LGL, we've had to try to create our own.

We LOVE the ability to create web forms that integrate with LGL and the ease of adding them to our website, although sometimes figuring out exactly how to map the data is beyond us without a fair amount of trial and error. On the other hand, these are tasks I never would have attempted with other systems and that we're able to do without paying thousands of dollars to consultants - which is vital with our very limited budget. We've got access to big-budget possibilities and investing the time and energy generally makes them possible for us. That said, without experience working with bigger systems in the past, I'm not sure I would understand the opportunities or be able to figure out how to tap into them.

Overall: I've been a fundraiser for 25+ years, primarily with very large organizations (raising $100 million+ annually), and had an opportunity to use a range of nonprofit databases, including home-grown systems and some of the best-known products from large companies. I've been through database conversions on large scales (50+ users, 25,000+ records), and advocated for and managed budgets as a member of the management team. I chose Little Green Light (LGL) after researching options for a small nonprofit where I'm the executive director. (5000 records, 3-5 database users, $350k annual budget)

Recommendations to other buyers: I appreciate the fact that LGL has taken steps to make ancillary services affordable. For example, their partnership with ProPay to provide integrated credit card processing - and the ability to do so with a reduced transaction fee for nonprofits - has had a tremendous impact on our bottom line. Before LGL, our only options for accepting on-line gifts took 5%-15% off the top of each transaction; now we pay less than 3%, and many of our donors choose to cover the fee. (LGL's web form function makes it VERY easy to give donors that option.) I'm also grateful to have access to National Change Of Address (NCOA) processing for a very reasonable fee with a process that's straight-forward. Before LGL, our organization had never attempted NCOA and we were getting more and more returned mail with 10-year-old addresses on file. Often there'd be so much returned mail that we wouldn't have a chance to update all the addresses before sending our next mailing...meaning we were basically throwing printing and postage costs away. We paid $150 for our first NCOA and I know we earned that back immediately based on reduced printing and postage costs for the mailings that have followed.

Comments: I've been a Little Green Light customer for 2 years and it has helped our nonprofit more effectively and efficiently manage data and cultivate relationships with our supporters. One of our key criteria was that our Executive Director--who is way too busy and not super tech savvy--be able to use it with minimal training or time. That has turned out to be true, and makes the rest of our jobs easier too. We especially like the quick, helpful customer service. LGL has even added reasonable features on request, which really makes them stand out compared to other donor databases that won't do it or charge high fees.

Cons: there are just a handful. We knew going in that LGL doesn't support split gifts but planned to, and are a little disappointed that feature hasn't been added yet. Managing households can be a little tricky when it comes to email subscriptions and volunteer hours. And in some places (e.g. shared searches) the interface can be a little clunky.

Overall, we're extremely happy with LGL's ease of use and excellent customer service!

Pros: The best part about Little Green Light is their five-star customer service. When I can't find what I need in their extensive library of help topics and video tutorials, I just shoot them an email, and most of the time, I hear back the same day with an answer, a solution, or, on occasion, a fix to a bug I uncovered. (I was a software tester in a previous life.)

Cons: It's somewhat minor, but I wish the Forms editor provided a WYSIWYG interface.

Recommendations to other buyers: As a small but growing nonprofit, Every Child Fed needed a donor management tool that would grow with us, but fell within our current budget. The free options were either too complicated to customize for a nonprofit or lacked the functionality to track and report on donor engagement. Little Green Light offered us a cart full of functions at a price we could afford, and it's intuitive enough so that all our employees and volunteers can find the information they need. LGL will help you get your data imported and get up and running fast.

Pros: It has made my job easier! Once our Development department enters a donation, I use Little Green Light in the Finance department to print tax acknowledgments and envelopes quickly and easily. In the past, we had separate systems with multiple spreadsheets, and labor-intensive manual mailings. Now it's all on LGL.

Cons: Occasionally, I've had some trouble formatting a letter template, but customer service solved the problem.

Pros: LGL is very fairly priced. We love that it is very intuitive and user-friendly. Also, the addition of LGL forms has made it possible for us to collect data that syncs directly to the database and process donations at the same time. All of it is very seamless and convenient for a good price.

Cons: Occasionally, we find something we would really like to add and track, especially within certain groups of constituents, and there isn't a really good way to add a field for data collection. We have found workarounds, but the ability to capture very organization-specific information (i.e., new fields) would be helpful.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would be interested to know if other products are integrated and available online for a better price. We pay approximately $400 per year for up to 2000 constituents. We looked into other products that would be cloud-based for access from anywhere and found this pricing to be far better than most.

Comments: I wanted LGL since the first moment I took a look at it but our Business Manager at the time wanted to learn how to design a program in FileMaker so we went with that. It was the worst system I have ever used. When she left I immediately requested our Board to approve the use of LGL. I showed them all the great things that the system could do, how easy it was to navigate. It didn't take much persuading before they were on board.

Everytime I have needed assistance, they are right there to walk me through it or take the data that I have and download it into the system for me. I never feel lost or confused at any time.

I highly recommend LGL to anyone looking for an easy to use database with excellent customer service.

Comments: We recently started using LGL as our donor management system and so far we are very impressed. It is fairly easy to use and if we ever do need help the customer service can't be beat! They respond very quickly to any questions, even the silly ones, and have always helped with any issues.
The only negative I have discovered so far is; some times menu items don't seem to be as intuitive as I would like them to be and I spend a bit of time trying to find things. But, I am sure that will get easier the more we use the database.
For a very small non-profit private school the cost is better than anything we found elsewhere - and that certainly helps the bottom line.

LGL Rocks! No nonprofit should be without it.

Comments: I've used several different solutions for donor management systems as a nonprofit leader. So far, Little Green Light is by far my favorite.

Because it is easy to use, the navigation is intuitive, and it is designed to hold a good deal of information without feeling overwhelming-- or requiring clicking through 5 different screens to find what you need to know.

As with any cloud-based system, it is a perfect fit for our international organization with volunteers and staff across the globe to be able to access it easily -- and no additional charges for multiple users (and the ability to limit the access to certain information for different types of users).

For some of our users who are new to web-based software, Little Green Light was difficult to understand and not as intuitive. For most of them, though, the videos and guides helped a lot. When that still didn't work, they were given excellent customer service support from the company.

Comments: There is little to say that is less than satisfactory. The specifics of what we have needed have been answered by their very capable support team when needed. The price point is a huge benefit but beyond the price point the quality of content is far superior to other comparable non profit donor accountability web based programs.

Comments: We upgraded to LGL from two old Filemaker databases, which were very disorganized and difficult to use. Importing into LGL was relatively painless with help from the LGL team. I appreciate that they are available to help me when I need it. You can't beat the value. We are a small organization with a relatively small database so this was the most cost-effective software for us and so far it's been a huge improvement and has made data management a lot easier. Integration with MailChimp was also easy, which is saying something since I was new both to LGL and to MailChimp!

The program itself is great to use. Very easy to learn and very intuitive.

Comments: I love Little Green Light! It is easy to use and helps me stay organized. I began using it in its early stages, and it continually improves. LGL keeps adding new features that make it better and better. The customer service team is top-notch. My phone and email inquiries are always immediately addressed, and the folks at LGL are delightful to work with. LGL is worth every penny of its reasonable cost.

Comments: I am new to fundraising and donor management systems, so I cannot compare it to other systems. What I can say is that it is easy to use and I can find my way around it with very little trouble. The only draw-back that I have found so far is that, although LGL offers 4 currencies, you can only select 1 currency for you account. The organisation I work for is based in South Africa and the majority of our gifts or donations are received in South African Rand, which is not an available currency on LGL. But we do also receive donations in USD, GBP and EUR. This makes logging gifts a bit complicated.

Comments: The key reasons we love LGL are what we get for the price point:
a) multiple users are included in the price so you can teach your whole team to use the database.
b) customer service is amazing. Very responsive (quick & helpful). they also listen when their customers make suggestions and we've seen a couple of new features based on customer feedback.
d) ease of use. nobody in our organization had any experience with a real database and we were able to transition to this program very easily.

I know I should mention some cons, but I'm not sure I have any. We are a young organization in terms of using a database so I don't have any real frame of reference.

Comments: Yes I am a very big fan of LGL, its very easy to use, and learn. It has many features that are essential with keeping members/donors included and aware and connected.

Best of all its intuitive and is extremely flexible easy to adapt to your organzation's needs and vocabulary.

I have not noticed any features missing from LGL, that were offered in ETap.

I was able to import our list very easily and set up many users/accounts and created templates, emails etc. Fundraising events, Capital Campaigns, Reminders, Special Events, Major Gifts, Memberships Annual Appeals etc.

Comments: Outstanding product. Little Green Light offers what we need, and doesn't clutter the product with what we don't need. It seems to be constructed around schools' development needs.

Also, very intuitive. I feel once I get this up and running, I will easily be able to ask others to do some of the entering and manipulating.

Personnel are outstanding. I have never once not had a person answer my phone call. Unheard of in today's world!

Comments: We have been very very impressed and happy with this program, the service it offers, and it's ability to enhance our donor and database management. It has allowed our organization to both expand and diversify the manner in which we conduct our fundraising. There are multiple ways that one can analyze giving patterns and involvement of individuals and groups with the organization. The recent improvement of entering in batch donations, was wonderful. When we had questions or problems (from inputting data from our old system to questions about queries, the response time and quality of help is excellent). I highly recommend this program for nonprofit donor and gift management.

Comments: The very first thing that comes to mind when I think of LGL is the wonderful customer service. Whenever I have a question or an issue it is immediately addressed and I have an answer and tech support right away. The parts of the system that are not intuitive for me and aren't menu driven are what sometimes give me problems; but these are easily overcome with a quick email. I
Get personal and customized help every time. LGL is a wonderful donor management tool at a reasonable price.

Comments: Little Green Light is a wonderful tool for development professionals. The program is intuitive, user-friendly and nimble. It is easy to learn, frequently updated, has helpful tutorials and phone calls are answered by helpful people who want to help solve your problems. If there were any downsides to LGL I'd list them here; fortunately we have discovered none.

Comments: The Martinez Foundation is a small nonprofit. We have been using LGL for one year now and really love it. It is reasonably priced which was absoluely critical for us as a nonprofit with limited resources. The way it is set up is so intuitive, that we were up and running immediately.
We are still learning all of the many ways to use this service. We would like a few more ways to define and capture our constituents, but for the most part, we believe it is our lack on knowing how to use the database rather than actual deficiencies. I tried to give LGL 5 starts in each of the 3 categories, but this form isn't accepting my rating.

Comments: Hospice Foundation of Palm Beach has a membership of approximately 55 and a donor base of 1300+. We hold only one event annually for our fund-raising and we are very fortunate to also receive several grants and bequests throughout the year. Prior to my coming to the organization, we were tracking donors and donations using a different system. While it was very good contact management software, it's not at all adequate to track donations. Having come from a very large non-profit, using a very expensive software system, I can truthfully say that Little Green Light provides most of the functionality, a lot less of the complexity and a very reasonable price for an organization our size. The variety of reporting that is available allows for easy clean up after importing, if needed. And support ROCKS! They are always responsive and very helpful. I love, love, love Little Green Light!

Comments: The Vermont Italian Club is primarily a membership organization whose purpose and mission is education of Italians and non-Italians in the Italian culture and heritage. We do this by encouraging participation and study of the Italian language, arts, and culture through lectures, presentations, films, study groups, formal classes, celebrations, and other educational events and activities. We are a small group with about 200 memberships and 475 entries in our database. When the group was smaller and before we invigorated the organization in 2009-2010 with new leadership, all membership information lived on spreadsheets. We knew that we needed a system that could grow with us and deliver the kind of information and reporting we needed. We evaluated other systems, but they were either far too expansive and/or too expensive for our meager budget. With no offices or paid staff, a fundamental requirement for our donor/member management system is that it be browser-based and accessible to our volunteers from their PCs in any location. In addition, the system had to be easy to use, reliable and include features that we would utilize as we grew, developed an online presence and added people to our database. Little Green Light seemed just right for us both in capabilities and price. Although it was fairly new at the time, we decided to adopt it because we believed LGL would grow as we did and it more than met our needs at the time. The conversion process from spreadsheets to LGL was far easier than anticipated when we adopted LGL in 2010. Staff was very accommodating and helped us through the transition smoothly. We were up and running within a few days. The ability to administer the various functions, categories, tags for member/constituent data is very flexible and easy to grasp. LGL has continually enhanced the system with new features. We have never looked back and remain enthusiastic that we made the correct choice. LGL continues to evolve and they listen to their customers for new feature development. In recent months they have launched tight integrations with WuFoo (online forms), MailChimp (email management), and PayPal (payment processing). All are useful services that offer a small non-profit like VIC easy and affordable integration with robust third party offerings. Those we have implemented work smoothly to reduce data entry and the inevitable mistakes of manual processing. LGL service has been outstanding, better than I have encountered from any systems vendor, to small and intermediate sized users. Their online knowledge base and responsive voice and email support is well beyond my expectations.

Pros: Little Green Light truly earns 5 stars in all the categories above. One of the reasons we chose the product is because it is so easy to use while having all the functionality we needed. There are products out there that are 'more feature rich' but they have so many features and options that they are not cost effective to use without specialized development staff. The LGL staff has been excellent at customer support - very responsive, very personable and always helpful. The LGL team also was very willing to help with our start up and data imports so we could get up and running quickly.

Cons: It is not free. (smile)

Overall: I have worked as the Development Director for two nonprofits. At one, we used Sage Fundraising 50 and at the other we used Raiser's Edge. I felt Little Green Light had the same ease of use and features that I found in the Sage software but at a much better price for the small nonprofit I now direct (and for whom I also wear the Development hat). At this point we are just building our individual donor base and I find the ability to document our relationships and contacts with constituents very useful. I use the software more to manage, track and grow the relationship than I do for back office fundraising support (gift receipts, pledge reminders, etc.). But, when the gifts start rolling in, I can see that the functionality we will need is there.

Pros: We switched over to LGL this past August and it's been such an easy transition. The customer support is second to none, and the interface is so user-friendly.

Cons: We are still learning some of the functionality and how to maximize the system. There are plenty of reports, but some are missing - BUT, they are so responsive and always willing to listen to feedback and implement those changes. I wish there was a mobile app for LGL and I know it's in the works.

Overall: You can't beat the price, and you get a lot of bang for your buck!

Pros: Little Green Light (LGL) has too many virtues to extoll in this small a space. In truth, the best way to see what it has to offer is to jump on the site for a demo, or better yet, to get in touch with one of the two founders of this family-run business: Nick or Chris Bicknell. Given that the two brothers have brought this great product to market in tandem and that they're equally committed to building it out in a user-friendly and customer-interactive manner, it's hard to imagine a better fit for an organization looking for comprehensive donor management tools, database management and project-building. LGL is constantly evolving, adding new features on a regular basis, while it maintains its eminently user-friendly interface. In our experience here at ITA, LGL has offered us a one-stop shopping experience for all of our donor, database, communications and project management.

Cons: No cons; I'm an unabashed fan.

Overall: Little Green Light (LGL) is a powerful and extremely effective organizational tool. By offering an intuitive and user-friendly format for data management and board/staff/volunteer connectivity, LGL preserves that most precious of all resources (especially for those of us in the independent sector): time. Thanks to the LGL platform, In the Arena (ITA) is a better organized and more productive outfit, with increased time to spend on the all-important programming and outreach. Plus, the Bicknell brothers are a pleasure to work with!

Pros: LGL is very reasonably priced, yet robust in its features, The transition from our spreadsheet environment was extraordinarily easy thanks to the help of Nick at LGL. The uptime on the system is near perfect in my experience and the technical and operational support second to none. The system meets all our needs and we have not yet tapped all its capabilities

Cons: None of significance. The learning curve may be a bit steep for some unfamiliar with online systems, but the support is excellent. The reporting function continues to be improved with a litany of options for downloading information

Overall: For small non-profits like the Vermont Italian Club with under 500 constituent entries, LGL is an affordable and intelligent online alternative to databases and spreadsheets. It's priced right and meets our needs better than anticipated.

Pros: LGL is intuitive and just makes sense
The features make it extremely easy to use and many things that used to take multiple steps in our old system now only take one.
The customer support is second to none. Calls and e-mails are answered or returned often times within minutes. No question is too minor to be answered and then answered again. They often send back screen captures of which button should be clicked making it very easy to do.
The accounting of various appeals, segments, goals and individuals records make it very easy to know information at one glance.

Cons: This system cannot be used to management of a school - sending transcripts, making student IDs etc but this is NOT what the system is designed to do. (I just wish it was)

Overall: I whole heartedly recommend this software and this company. My working life has changed for the better in so many ways since using LGL. I have changed the way I do everything in the database and have real pleased in showing my colleagues how easy things are now. Our efforts have definitely stepped up. I am thankful many times a day for LGL.

Cons: I haven't found any cons yet! Oh, wait, integration with QuickBooks is on the way but not complete just yet.

Overall: This really is the best fundraising software for small to mid-size organizations I've ever seen. I have been left high and dry without implementation assistance or customer support by other companies and know how frustrating that can be. THis is NOT the case with LIttle Green Light. This software is easy to use and powerful.
