It's easy to set up and intuitive to use, from adding new constituents to creating campaigns and appeals to running reports. Support is fast and incredibly helpful, and the price can't be beat. Cons My issues with LGL are incredibly small (e.g. would like the ability to send users multiple reminders for a task, and more flexibility in creating LGL Forms). Overall it's a great service. Pros This software helped get us started with basic donor management. It allowed us to ease our way into systematizing our donor base and now, making our stewardship activities systematized. It's very easy to keep the database and giving organized with LGL. Pros This software is extremely easy to use. It was also easy to learn. Just playing around and running different reports has helped me to utilize this software with better efficiency. Pros It is easy to use and does not require serious technological understanding. Most processes require only a few steps - sometimes less - and they are easy to figure out and carry through. The system is self-explanatory and does not require hours of training. Cons Working between programs (like mailchimp) is not as intuitive as I would like it to be. September 13, 2017 4.0 Pros Intuitive, cost effective, strong customer support. The help function is comprehensive and usually does not require additional outreach to LGL Staff. Easy to customize even for someone who does not use it on a daily basis. Cons Doesn't play well with Apple computers and the drafting documents in the app itself is a bit clunky. It can be done, however. Labels to my Mac have formatting problems. Since I am a volunteer, I use the app at home and am stuck with the work arounds. It's not Apple related, but sounds like an issue with how mailmerge files are handled. Mailmerge files can come as either Word documents or as PDFs, both of which work on Apple computers just fine. The most common issue is using a Word template with special characters (such as Word's merge fields) as opposed to a straight .docx file when uploading a Word template into LGL. SV Sarah V. January 26, 2018 5.0 A solid system to work with, ease in doing and tracking mailings and generating reports Pros I like that it's clearly laid out and easy to navigate once you've worked with it and discovered it's features. When the customer service support team responds by email, the explanations address the concern. Cons What I don't like is that for someone who has no real donor database experience or has always relied on an assistant, I would have preferred to attend an overview in person training session where questions could be asked in real time. The instructional videos make assumptions about levels of understanding that the viewer may not have using terms that are data base specific. Further, you can access the customer support team to answer questions but it takes between 3 and 4 hours to hear back and usually their answer calls for an easy follow up question which again takes another several hours before getting the response. The menu for the instructional videos content is not clear for those unfamiliar with database operations leading to wasted time searching for the correct term and then to the correct video segment for answers. Everything you need is there, and easy to use and understand for the non-IT person. Pros Coming from a large higher ed setting with an expensive CRM to a small non-profit without a CRM was a fun project. I reached out to another local small non-profit who gave LGL rave reviews. I looked at two other CRM with a much higher price tag. For our agency LGL is perfect. As an end user, non-code writer, I have found it easy to use and navigate. I have found the knowledge base easy to understand and implement where needed. Cons So far, my only frustration is with editing my acknowledgement letter. Once I figure that out I won't have any complaints. Reason for choosing Little Green Light Highly recommended by another local non-profit was what lead us to LGL - price and ease of use is what made the decision to go with LGL over the other 2 we were looking at. However, we quickly outgrew it. It was ok in the beginning when we weren't generating a lot of income and didn't need to run many reports. However, the more we grew, the more LGL did not work for us and we ended up switching to something else. Pros Inexpensive, good for small organizations who are just starting out Cons Reporting was not intuitive or easy to use. LGL's price range for the capabilities to track constituents, events, appeals, and campaigns is perfect. It allows us to run reports for every criteria under the sun, generate mailing lists, and import our own acknowledgement templates. Their Flex Importer and ability to reverse your most recent import are absolute sanity savers. The one month trial gave us adequate time to familiarize ourselves with LGL, test the importing with small batches of data and allow us to reverse those imports. Realizing there's a mistake in the import data and knowing that we can either undo the whole import or use the Bulk Edit tool to make the necessary modifications really keeps the stress levels at a minimum. I can't express how happy our organization is with LGL. Pros With standard computer experience LGL is easy to learn and its capabilities are perfect for our organization. Cons The only thing that could be better is that LGL doesn't recognize couples when they have different last names during the import process. But really you can't expect a program to be perfect. Though it was time-consuming to do so, we simply made certain those constituents were accurately formatted in our CSV before doing the final import. Review Source LC Laura C. With LGL I am totally confident. I can see all of our data easily. It is very easy to use for me, our staff and our board of directors. Now everyone can get in, search for people, add contact reports, etc. Pros It is very easy to use and integrates very easily with other services like Mail Chimp and PayPal. We are also able to track our donors much easier than with our previous software. Pros Ability to collect info on each constituent and then to sort accordingly. Sending mass emails is extremely easy and effective. Cons Inability to attach photos to emails. Sometimes it is difficult to get the help that is needed. It has been a wonderful tool to track donors and as a database for mailing lists, events, etc. Now that our school is expanding, LGL is becoming more and more useful. Our IT person did the bulk import of data from our spreadsheet system, and most things went pretty smoothly. After the trial we went straight into loading our live data. Pros LGL encompasses the most important functions needed to manage musuem members and donors, and also has the ability to customize the product to make minor modifications to match our needs. Customer support has been of great help pointing me in the direction for what I need to do to make changes suitable for our organization. Cons Haven't found anything to irritating yet, but I'm not a poweruser either. Reason for choosing Little Green Light Needed something that could be used by multiple people, that could track additional categories of members and donors, and that had better integration with our accounting system. Helped our team organize tons of spreadsheets and get a handle on our constituent data. We use it many times a week for relationship tracking, acknowledgement letters, event invitations, petition signers, and course participants. The tool saves us time in year over year involvement and how our constituents engage with us over time. Customer service is highly responsive and always helps solve the problem or teach me what I need to know. Quite resourceful. Cons The drop down menus for searches are not intuitive to navigate (for example, not alphabetized and I don't believe the sequence is customizable). I would like to see an iPhone app to enter data on the go. I am still learning and have taken advantage of the LGL 101 Webinar Series. I look forward to becoming more fluent in LGL as time goes on. My favorite feature is the customer service—extremely responsive, friendly, and always helpful. Pros LGL has been most helpful in tracking contributions by funder. The ability to attach documents to goals, such as grant application copies and report submissions, is also a great feature. Cons I have previously used Salesforce at other nonprofits, which is more visually appealing than LGL. However, the simplicity of LGL is also a good thing when it comes to gift entry, as there are no overcomplicated/unnecessary options that bog down the process. Review Source ES Elsie S. As a first CRM, it's excellent, and I really appreciate the customer service. I docked a star for the few problems with the Forms and the frustrating payment processors (ProPay) that you have to use if you want to accept direct deposit (ACH) donations. Pros Value for money- does what we need it to at a cost we can absolutely afford Ironically, lack of features. However, once you get to 500-1,000 accounts or begin having larger events, you may need to upgrade. Pros Great for donor development tracking, assigning tasks, and running reports, integrates with Constant Contact. Perfect for new nonprofits or organizations with a small list. Cons Does not integrate many platforms. It does not offer seamless social fundraising, event registration, volunteer management capabilities. It does not provide a credit card processing gateway. We had four different platforms to accomplish everything we needed. Navigation is easy because there is more than one way to get around. I've used some very expensive programs that didn't do any more than LGL and were much more difficult to use. I work alone so the functionality is vital. Cons I know the program will do more than I am doing with it, so it's frustrating to know that there are things I could be doing.
