"Dictation for the 21st Century"
Overall: I have a great experience with Dragon Medical Practice with great increase in accuracy and speed of my dictations.
Pros: I like the speed that is transcribes and the accuracy. It is pretty accurate in capturing what I say. I have the least amount of editing with notes when I dictate using Dragon.
Cons: It launches separately from my EMR application and doesn't automatically populate in my EMR and I need to paste the dictation.
"Accurate Dictation "
Pros: I have used this software for note dictation as well as performed chart reviews on hundreds of patient notes that utilized this software. It is very accurate. It has no problems with medical terminology.
Cons: While it has no problems with medical terminology, occasionally there will be a typo in the notes. Easily fixable and not very common.
"Double Letters Everywhere"
Overall: Dictation of patient charts.
Pros: Easy to use. Easy to load. Works in most Electronic Medical Record software.
Cons: Double letters everywhere. Requires editing of everything you dictate due to double and sometimes triple letters in words. A well known issue. Customer support not helpful. Flawed software. Recommend that if you are using a previous version and it is working OK, do not upgrade!
"Dragon Medical"
Overall: Very useful to our practice, saves time and very accurate.
Pros: The doctors in my office use this and are very happy with it, I find very few errors when auditing chart notes. Very easy to pick up where you leave off and helps the doctors get their notes done faster.
Cons: No issues to date and we have been using for several years.
"Makes dictation so much easier"
Pros: This software has been able to transcribe our doctors voice into our EHR with little to no errors.
Cons: We did have some issues syncing it with the power mic during intial set up
"Not just for Medical Practices!"
Overall: If money is tight, this software is not for you, but if money is not a concern, then this is the holy grail of transcription/dictation software.
Pros: Not much to really go over with transcription software. You talk. It types. But there's a lot that can go wring in between those two things. That's where Dragon stands out. From my use, it is able to correctly tabulate entire sermons word for word. That's right, I said sermons. I don't use this software in a medical building but instead at a church. It help me with transcribing the sermon on Sundays and Wednesdays. It works awesomely!
Cons: It's expensive, no two ways around that. But with this software "you get what you pay for" absolutely rings true, as its the best on the market.
