Pros: Easy to use interface, good functionality. Excellent support. Searched around a lot for a cost-effective solution and this was by far the best and easiest to implement.

Cons: Would be nice to have the budgeting feature in the basic version but even without it, the software is great.

Overall: daily time tracking and syncing with quickbooks for ease of use.

Pros: I was trained on the old version, but when we upgraded it became much easier to use. I also like the new look.

Cons: I do a lot of invoicing through the software. One thing I don't like is when I go to save an invoice, it will randomly apply sales tax. There are instances I have to change it back a few times. When it syncs to QB, I have to go through those invoices (50-80/month) and correct it. That is frustrating.

Overall: It allows us to have job/client information and bill from time.

Pros: This software has really made it possible to track everything in one place and it can easily be customized to fit your type of business and how you operate. The customer service is second to none. The initial training is top notch and they can walk you through everything to help you get set up. They are quick to respond and get you through every problem you encounter along the way. Worth every penny

Cons: 4 stars for "ease of use" is because of the flexibility to handle numerous types of companies the amount of options can be overwhelming but once it's set up correctly and can comprehend the work flow for your company it gets easier to manage changes and additions to your system. Some of the important functions in the system are often small text links hidden at the bottom of the screen and are hard to find especially if you're not used to navigating the system. It would be great if they update these to buttons on the screen in a place that is easier to find.

Overall: Managing our time and invoicing more efficiently and put it into a functioning system and process rather than just using spreadsheets.

Pros: Various reports and easy navigations. Also time tracking is easy to use by users, admin and other staff users.

Cons: not really any problems, may be need to add FAQ as per issues faced by various customers. Otherwise software is great.

Pros: The interface is clear and easy to use. It didn't take long for me to get the hang of it after my manager explained how it worked.

Pros: The ability to communicate in detail with QBD and QBO. FYI to all who job cost... You CANNOT job cost in QBO. It is not a limitation of BigTime, it is a limitation of QBO. Which is what i mean by my partial experience answer above... (allow more text there).. if onboarding is completed with a premeeting checklist about the firms existing workflow and time management and by someone intimately familiar with the industry that is using BigTime the cons below could be addressed upfront. The team at BigTime were difficult to get a hold of but once they were aware they worked like crazy to get us setup and working in the time frame we had. We moved our QBO file back to QBD (we had to do the testing on our own because the team at BT didn't know why job costing wasn't working in QBO) Once we moved back to QBD the job costing, invoicing, payroll work like a charm inside QBD. Hands down, it is the best integration with QBD of any practice management software out there... We had 2 people who spent 8 months testing many software solutions... most were lacking at least 1 "critical" requirement... Big Time was not. As we become aware and work through things like "terminology" we are becoming more and more confident in the workflow and keeping track of what is due when and who has what and what state the work is in. This is key as we go into tax season but also something we cannot live without on a day to day basis as 95% of our work is recurring on various time schedules. Thank yo

Cons: The wide range of terminology used in the software is confusing and causes errors to be made during implementation. Examples: Start Date and End Date... without these terms being defined you would think that start date is the day the work should begin and that End Date is the DUE DATE. Not so within Big Time. For recurring tasks, Start Date means Due Date in Big Time language. Another example: Completed vs Archived. Completed in most software solutions means that the job is finished or done; and archived means done and sent to storage with no recurrence nor future work is expected. In Big Time the term Archive means Completed or Finished or Done and removes the task from the workflow list and generates the next task in the reccurence. In BigTime the term Completed means something different... still unsure what it means because even when you update a task/project status to "completed" the task remains on the workflow list.

Overall: full integration with our financial software - invaluable... there are many great software solutions out there that do what they do fantastically, however they lack full detailed integration with financial software... not Big Time! BigTime allows you to manage workflow and not miss deadlines. You can quickly reassign work, monitor deadlines, track phone calls/messages, assign tasks, view work in progress, allocate work, and also track all financial functions related to this work inside your financial software. No more having to track accounts receivable and client payments in two systems. After spending 8 months with 2 people trying and testing multiple practice management solutions, Big Time was the best and satisfied all of the "critical" requirements.

Pros: The simple and easy format projects and tasks. We needed to create projects with multiple tasks quickly for our employees to access and we were able to do that quickly.

Cons: Not always easy to edit once invoices are created. I am still getting used to the software and sometimes do not select the correct items needed from the start and have to delete the invoice and recreate.

Overall: It is a great way to easily track time and expenses for each employee and apply them to the correct jobs.

Pros: I've used more self-explanatory and user-friendly time entry applications before, but once you learn this, it's very easy to use and navigate.

Cons: It is very intimidating the first time you use it, and one would probably not be able to navigate it easily without someone first showing them how.

Pros: The accessibility of the software for all staff and the informative tutorials that answer questions you may have when introduced to the software.

Pros: It has a crisp design and I know what to look for. The prompts are very clear and I like seeing what hours have been submitted.

Cons: I struggle with the two views of the week and day. I am never quite sure which will be the most useful for what I need.

Overall: I see the same hours that my supervisor sees, so I can ensure we are on the same boat with time management.

Pros: I like being able to select different styles of viewing the timesheet. The weekly view works best for me, but it's nice to have options. Overall, I think it is an easy software to use.

Cons: I do not get automatically notified if my timesheet has been rejected. There may be a feature for this, but it isn't readily available.

Overall: It is a user-friendly way to keep track of time.

Pros: Has been built to handle the flexible and changing needs of time tracking reporting, such as the shift from managerial timesheet review to review by project team leaders. Comprehensive in the sense that time tracking, expenses, reporting are all included. Few packages available do all three.

Cons: The navigation is sometimes a little confusing with windows inside of windows, so not sure where or how to scroll. Also, dialog boxes run off the screen and can't be seen till you scroll up. Would be nice to have the window autoscroll enough to always make the menu choices visible.

Brea's onboard sessions are of great quality and she expresses thorough knowledge of the material

Pros: It's very flexible, intuitive, easy to use, contains meaningful set of features that cover all needs and more. The tech support team and how easy it is to access the support team is one of the best I've worked with. Many thanks to the people who set it up this way. If I could rate it with 6 stars, I would.

Cons: As always, there are more features that users could dream of. In my case, I'd like to have an admin control to turn off users ability to enter their hours in some cases.

Pros: It's easy to navigate. Everything we need is right there, and very simple to use. Also, the support staff is great. Always responsive and friendly.

Cons: No cons to date. We really enjoy using it. The only thing that can be a little tricky is building custom reports.

Overall: Big Time allows for our employees to log their time and allows for managers to easily review and approve it. The syncing works great with QuickBooks also. We have a very unique payroll structure here with different rates and pay items, and Big Time was able to accommodate our needs.

Pros: The company information on the home page. Key information on WIP, hours to be approved and
invoices still in the draft process.

Cons: I can't really say they is anything I don't like :) However when I post the invoices it would be nice to have an approval notification come up as opposed to being sent to the next screen.

Pros: I just started using BigTime but I was able to configure it for our company in just a few short hours of learning. It's format works great for our consulting company because it has flexible ways to assign rates for time entry/invoicing. Expenses also work well for reimbursable expenses for our employees. It also has the best Quickbooks integration I've seen in a Time and Expense app. It does two-way syncing between Quickbooks and BigTime and also creates all the necessary time, expense, bill, and invoice entries I need in Quickbooks. I compared all the other available apps for integration with Quickbooks and BigTime was the by far the best choice.

Cons: It's more expensive than I'd like, but it's the only product that met our needs, and for that we're happy to pay a little extra.

Pros: Pulling the time tracking into QuickBooks and then creating invoices with the time and what was done for that project. I also love the reports. We can now track our time doing all the extra services for a client and see if we are making enough money or just breaking even.

Cons: At times it is confusing especially the integration with QuickBooks. It is a very in depth program and I feel I have to tackle the whole thing at once. I feel the more information per client the better reports we will get back so it just takes time and a learning curve to get to that .

Overall: The biggest benefit is better invoicing on our services because the time is entered and then integrated into quickbooks.

This software has made our lives so much easier.

Pros: The ease of time tracking for employees and the detail they can fill in for each client. The fact that all time is captured for each client is the biggest Pro.

Cons: The sync with Lacerte didn't work for us as it duplicated clients that were imported from QuickBooks.

Customer rep was very knowledgeable about the system and able to answer all my questions during our call.

Pros: I like how customizable it is to upload our clients to be able to track the information we want to track. It is not a one size fits all solution, which is a large appeal. Plus it is easy to use, even from the admin standpoint.

Cons: I wish there was a bit more customization on buttons that can be on the timesheet itself, but overall not many cons come to mind thus far.

Pros: Easy to use, The integration with QBO was smooth. The ability to generate custom reports gives you a great insight on projects management. Employees love the timekeeping app.

Cons: There are times that you can't connect immediately to Customer Support for help. They do get back to you within a couple of hours. Wish there was a support number.

Overall: Time saving, better reports.

Pros: The customer service is great. It syncs easily to QBO. The software does everything we need it to do.

Cons: I am interested in seeing some improvement to the organization of the website. I wanted to change some expenses and I had to go in to the staff list to make those changes. Not very intuitive when one of the tabs is "time/expense".

Pros: Software is great to track all hours spent per day. It shows us what projects we are working on and having the budget tracking helps tremendously. Ease of use and any issues, customer service is within a click of a link.

Cons: I wish there were more options to create our own customized invoice. It is minimal compared to what the pros are but something to improve on.

Pros: I like that BigTime workflow's is very up to dates with their software. They did a great job implementing tools that help small businesses to manage their daily tasks.

Cons: I wish the main screen that shows all the engagements and information would be bigger. Adding more filed expanded the screen. I just don't like having to use another toolbar. Overall love this software.

Overall: I like that I'm able to see what is due for the next few weeks. Deadline are really useful, and the invoicing section is great. I especially love the time tracking clock.

Pros: Love the mobile app and the ease of entering information. I like that a receipt can be uploaded with the expense. And the invoicing is pretty slick!

Cons: Would love to see the expense entries enhanced to include supplier/vendor name on receipt.
Also more options for default entries. i.e. - default check the non-reimbursable on expense entry.

Our experience with BT has been frustrating with the timekeeping side.

Pros: Ease of entering in time in the time sheets, staff like the timer function, set up was easy, and quick response from customer service

Cons: BT doesn't calculate over time, the payroll reports require a lot of manual work around to get the information needed, and overall, it's not a great time keeping system.

Pros: They have good customer support. It does the job for our small firm. The ease of syncing over to quickbooks is good.

Cons: I get confused sometimes on their terminology, knowing exactly what they mean and how it relates to what I am trying to do.

Great for billing, expenses, and timesheets.

Pros: Keeps track of billing, expenses, and timesheets in a simple, easy to use manner. It's easy to view all employees records and keeps track of PTO as well.

Cons: Every now and then we need to disable and enable the sync with our QB. Customer service walks us through the issues.

Overall: Invoicing, expenses, timesheets, and keeping track of employee time off.

Pros: Bigtime has all the features we need to effectively track and bill time and expenses. The layout has a great look to it. The feature set is full of different controls that allow the administrator to set up the system so that it works well for the team.

Cons: The biggest downfall of the software is the lack of ability to set up finite details on the invoice creation. We have been working with the team at Bigtime, who are great, and have learned that the invoicing section is being revamped and will be out in the next couple of months. With the new invoicing abilities, there will be very few issues with the software

Cons: Easy to delete things in the system. I had to roll back our system to a back up to recover a project.

Pros: The ease of learning and using this product is unlike any other. Not to mention customer service is quick to respond and assist with any questions or explain options to your issue.

Cons: The app does not give you the "choose a credit card option". It would be nice if it gave the options the online version does for time purposes.

Overall: It is easy and efficient!

Pros: Pretty easy to use and figure out yourself. When needed Customer Service is amazing. Quick to respond. The set up demos that are included for new users are very helpful for the things I could not figure out how to do myself.

Cons: There really aren't too many Cons. I would say the biggest one is there is not a super easy way to budget for Sub Consultants in BigTime.

Overall: Ability to keep up with time spent on each project and on over head.

Pros: What I like most about BigTime is the ease of setting up and tracking a project and project budgets.

Cons: BigTime does not give the option of project leads approving their own time on their projects. Therefore, I have to give them access to manipulating invoices as there is not an invoice approval process set up for IQ Pro as of yet.

Comments: Brea deserves a trophy for all she does!

Pros: It is so easy to use, I learned it in a day. Brea P, our "onboarder," is prompt to respond and has the ability to answer each and every question. It's a very personable group. The UI is clean and simple, and you can customize almost anything.

Cons: Can't do some more granular stuff we need, like weekly (rather than monthly) resource allocations, and there are some necessary workarounds, but it still is going to save us so much time.

Pros: The software is very user-friendly and the support from the BigTime staff is great! The set-up of the projects and tasks is very straight forward, and provides great visibility into projects and provides detailed time accounting data.

Cons: Just familiarizing with the software, it seems that the least attractive features about this software is the submitting, approval and posting of time-sheets.

Pros: Super Easy to learn, configure and use. The Onboarding resources provide training specific to how we use BigTime. Support is available online, live chat or by phone. Integration with QuickBooks has saved time and steps in our daily workflow.

Cons: There is no manual to walk through configuration or for quick reference in routine troubleshooting. The Knowledgebase tool is helpful but doesn't cover everything. Stopping in the middle of a key process- such as monthly invoicing- to watch a YouTube video is not conducive to workflow.

Overall: Implementing BigTime provided us structure for our consultants to begin tracking time and capturing expense receipts electronically, while on the road.

Pros: I like how easy it is to add info to the system. if a client requires additional info it is easy and quick to be able to add that into bigtime

Cons: when "add timesheet row" the first cell that you can type in is the today hours. If this could be changed to the client number so I can click "add timesheet row" and began to type right away into client to save on time would be great

Overall: to be able to accurately account for time and be able to code each time entry to the appropriate category.

Pros: Requirement of notes to be added to time entries. It helps knowing what specifically has been worked on within each time code.

Pros: Solid, dependable system that is clean and easy to use. I have been using the express version for some time now and love it so much I recently upgraded to take full advantage of the tool BigTime offers.

Cons: Reporting. The reporting system is definitely powerful and the pre-built reports are good, but to get what you really want you'll need to spend some time setting up and modifying the reports. So there is definitely some time you'll have to spend there.

Pros: It's very easy for all of our team members to enter their time. With our prior system, employees sent their time sheets to an admin person who then had to enter it into our system. Really like the ability to enter time from anywhere either online or through the mobile app.

Cons: So far we have no complaints. It would be nice if the iPad app version allowed for full week view when entering time similar to the website layout.

Rep did a great job with the training! She was knowledgeable and provided valuable insight!

Pros: We have been with Big Time for the past 6 years and have recently went from Enterprise to IQ Pro, and we just are so pleased with all the improvements. Brea, the BT consultant has been fantastic in helping us transition. We have had a great response with the support team! she has gone over and beyond in getting our needs met. I needed some customized reports, and she was able to turn around in just a few hours. Overall, we are very pleased and happy to be a part of the BT family.

Cons: The syncing tends to be an issue at times. Once synced, the data tends to not always be correct. We work closely with the Support Team to resolve

Pros: BigTime has saved me hours of work. My company used to input everything by hand through excel and now we have all our employees do time sheets through BigTime. It is very easy to use. The reporting and tracking is very helpful. Data entry/recall is great.

Cons: On several occassions while posting timesheets from BigTime to Quickbooks, there have been some unexplainable software glitches. This slows down our progress and we have to contact support. The issue is usually on BigTime's end and we cannot fix it on our own.

Overall: Daily time tracking is much easier to do.

Pros: I love that I can log my time or start a timer on my phone to keep up with my billable time on the go. I also love the functionality with Quickbooks Online.

Pros: The software is easy to use and figure out. As a new user to any administrative software, I found it easy to pick up.

Cons: No way to customize invoice reports (column width), no way to organize custom reports, not intuitive to have N/C items left off of invoices. Chat option was not helpful, no immediate response and I was logged off. The submit buttons on the bottom of the screen are too small and look like more text and not the submit button. We used to use Concur and there was an option to email your receipts and they would be downloaded for the user. Our employees miss that attribute.

The training sessions have been paramount to my success with using the software. Brea rocks!

Pros: Straight forward navigation on all tabs makes all operations easy. I like that all of the administrator functions are kept fairly simple; there are a lot of great ways to customize almost everything, without being overwhelming to learn. Most customizations are nice since you really only need to set them up once, then make small tweaks until everything is just right. The software will be very easy to train new employees to use. I love that it links to Quickbooks; I have so much less leg work than my previous software when it comes to data entry. So far a fairly smooth transition from the previous software.

Cons: While there are a lot of ways to customize the appearance of pages for employees, the invoices are still fairly restrictive. I find it odd that I can't change little things like: justifications (Overall message stuck in the center of the page and I can't indent it lower), and the job name is right justified and continues long names to the next line mid word sometimes; the color or boldness of each text line (ex. I would like the job name bold or larger font and some lines to be in color). I know these changes can be made as a word doc, but then it won't change my template in Big Time.. Second, creating a report to my liking has been very challenging. I need a monthly report for each project manager with an individual detailed overview of each project every month. However, when I have tried to tailor existing reports or make my own I always get an error that my report can't be created. Third, our billing cycle falls mid month and it would be preferable if timesheets and billing could be broken up by custom billing cycle rather than monthly. It's hard to track the cycle with just a weekly timesheet view. It's a change we can work with, but it requires a lot of extra work for the admin to constantly filter in invoicing. Lastly, the character limit on job titles is painfully small. We have a hard time getting all crucial information to fit. It would help dramatically if the job info screen had a place to record the address of the job.

Overall: Ease of use with Quickbooks integrations and lots of customizations for staff

Cons: Easy to do timesheets. Meaning that doing timesheets was always a necessary evil but this program takes the pain out of it.

Pros: The software has LOTS of functionality - we were very pleased with everything it can do. The only times I have had to contact Customer Support are when I am trying to learn a new function; the system is very stable and never crashes, unlike some of the programs we use!

Cons: I would like it if there was an interface back from QuickBooks to Big Time to update the status of invoices as they go through the billing process. For example, when an invoice gets sent to a customer, or paid, QB would automatically change the status in Big Time to Sent or Paid/Closed. Right now, I am updating the statuses in Big Time manually, and it is a pain to keep Big Time and QB in sync.

Overall: Ease of keeping track of all of the engagements for each client in one place; the ability to run reports that are extremely helpful and able to be customized so that I can see the exact information I want.

Pros: BigTime saves me hours of work. My company used to input everything by hand in excel, and now I am able to have my employees enter their own hours. I can pull reports and keep track of all of our projects with ease. I print reports weekly and have Project Managers review them all to make sure we are in line with budgets and our schedules. I am able to have separate tasks under each job and even move hours with ease if needed. Employees submit their time sheets and I have the ability to reject them if needed. I love that employees are also able to access BigTime from home too. If someone is out of the office and I need time sheets, they can log right in and submit them for me to process payroll.

Cons: There are some quirks with closing projects. Once can still show on time tracking, even though it has no open tasks.

Overall: Reporting and ease of access to all of my data.

So far, we've gotten nothing but rave reviews from our users about BigTime - it's the best!

Cons: We found out post-purchase about a Sync Manager that had to be installed to work with Quickbooks Desktop - that has been a source for several issues. I wish we would have known about that before hand. The BigTime support, however, has been PHENOMENAL and helped us through all of the issues.

Pros: Accuracy of data/hours entered each day. Tracking is very good as well. I love the feature where I can enter time and data for other associates in order to keep all records up to date.

Cons: At times it is difficult to bring items over for Quick books. We receive errors and at one point it stated it was brought over but in reality it was not.

Overall: Accuracy easily able to enter data for the most part

BigTime is a great product for the small company on their way to getting big.

Pros: The thing I like most is the customization available to fit the needs of my work. It allows for flexibility with time sheets, expenses, and invoicing.

Cons: The thing that I like least about this software would be the small glitches that can happen when syncing with QuickBooks. There are rare occasions when some things just don't translate well. They probably happen after small updates to the system. Either way, they are annoying when it is something that normally works. BT is normally good to help me work through these issues though.

BigTime has been excellent, easy to use and a great value. Customer service has also been very good.

Pros: I like the ease of use

Cons: I don't like having to input a comment with every time entry input. Would like to designate certain categories for comments while accepting others sans comment.

Overall: Works well for what we need it to do, which is input our time to track it for billing clients. I like that it is web based so it makes it easy to get latest updates when available.

Cons: Wish comments could be saved so that I didn't have to type the same ones over and over.

Overall: Is there any way you could save comments so that you don't have to keep typing the same ones over and over? I only gave 3 stars for Features and Customer Support because I don't really know what is available and I haven't ever contacted customer support. No stars for value because I have no idea how much the system cost.

Comments: I used Ebillity for a number of years. Things frequently went wrong and their customer service was terrible. I switched to Big Time several months ago. I rarely have any problems. When I do, I can get someone to fix it immediately.

Overall: Being new to BigTime, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get my point across. I was skeptical of LiveChat due to not being able to get immediate attention. I was wrong. Comments: BigTime has a ton of functionality that is great for our timekeeping and invoicing needs, but the software can be a bit daunting to use. After using for a four months, we are still figuring out how the software works and have to frequently go back and edit entries we discover are incorrect through trial and error. That said, we are lightyears ahead of our old timesheet tracking method. Quickbooks integration is also a huge plus.

Overall: We are a small sized engineering firm, but have grown over the past 20 year. We had a one person, manual entry (paper timesheet) based program. Comments: Just stated using BigTime this month for time tracking, budget tracking and invoicing. Did training with customer support representative. She has been a wonderful resource to reach out to. After going though both sessions of training we came across some issues that we didn't come up while training and the cust care representative was able to walk us though the processes smoothly. Overall: The budget management and invoicing capabilities in BigTime are powerful and easy to use. While we did invest some time in the initial setup and integration with QuickBooks (as expected) we found the the process to be straight forward. Our employees began entering entering their time and expenses immediately after the initial "On board 1" training session. The web user interface is easy to navigate as is the very useful mobile app.

BigTime customer service is outstanding. Our software implementation consultant Brea provided very thorough training and made the implementation process easy for us.

Cons: I cannot display a cumulative invoice total in the budget summary for invoicing (prior billings + current billings).

Overall: After reviewing four options for Time and Expense Tracking software we decided on BigTime for two reasons: Ease of Use and Invoice Templates. The Time and Expense entry for the engineers in our office was intuitive and easy to learn. The mobile app works very well and is used more than we anticipated.

From the administrative aspect the setup is relatively easy and the user interface is easy to follow and understand. I really like how the screens navigate from one to the other and how I can customize what I want to see on each screen. The clicking on the column headings to view the information in varies ways is great.

We create about 50 - 60 invoices each month where the format may vary depending on the client for each one. BigTime does a good job of providing a base of invoice templates with the flexibility customize. The one thing that is really missing from the invoicing option is the ability to display the Total Cumulative Amount Invoiced as of the current invoice (prior amount + current invoice amount). I have requested this change and hopefully it will be added.

The last aspect is customer support. Two training sessions were included in the software subscription. The first one was good for the very basic information, maybe a little too basic. The second session was much more informative that gave us some good practices to use with BigTime (Brea was very knowledgeable in both). The day to day support seems short handed. Most of the time you have to send an email and wait for a response which could take hours or the next day. As a new user that was a little frustrating. I don't necessarily need to talk to someone on the phone but a live chat would be great to get an answer and move on. That is the one area that I would recommend BigTime address.

Overall we are happy with our decision to go with BigTime and I would recommend BigTime to others.

Recommendations to other buyers: Try to staff the LiveChat for customer support. It would really help with quick questions.
