Even before I started using I Spring and whilst I was using the free version the support from the iSpring Team was excellent. I also find the regular production of "how to" and "tips" type videos helpful. Every time I use iSpring I am learning about its features and am now using it in lieu of the ppt recording features. Cons It has taken some time to learn to use iSpring effectively as I started with no knowledge of e learning. However I did look at other authoring systems and they appeared more complex than iSpring. I chose iSpring as I had some knowledge of ppt use. However, I found that my knowledge of ppt was nowhere near where it needed to be to develop quality elearning training. So the issue was more my knowledge of ppt. Cons Como parto de presentaciones e-Learning ya hechas en Ingles, mi actividad es editarlas al Español, entonces en la herramienta de edición de los scripts en Español, me cuesta un poco de trabajo coordinar estos scripts con las animaciones de la presentación Powerpoint. En este proceso es donde más me tardo, pero como todo, ya le voy encontrando la manera de hacerlo más ágil cada día. We offer professional content production services, but these are obviously costly, so when our clients need a low cost alternative we always go for iSpring because it's easy to use and integrates perfectly with out LMS. Pros Definitely the best about iSpring is the ease of use. Since it is integrated with powerpoint most users feel comfortable with it instantly and be able to start creating engaging educational material. Exporting to HTML 5 is a great plus since users can integrate it with our LMS seamlessly. It's also compatible with scorm standards, so thats also a big pro. Cons Some interactions are a bit limited, specially regarding the evaluation process. Gamification and customization could be a bit better, but users usually adapt to it. The quiz module is the one that brings most pain to our users, but usually end up finding a way to use it. It is just what great customer service should be. Thanks for the quality Pros The software is great and it enables to create great interactive learning solutions. Cons The license is expensive. They offer a great Unlimited license but, after a year, you need to renew to have access to the full library and other services. Nevertheless, you can continue using your software version with the original license without any actualization. But the best experience, of course, is when you have the full package paying an annual license renewal. The suite is very versatile and easy to use (particularly as a non-programmer). Available tutorials, templates and great customer service make this an outstanding software program that should be in everyone's toolkit! Pros Technical support has been fantastic! The few struggles I have encountered have been address quickly, professionally with a friendly, supportive approach. Overall, the software is very intuitive and easy to use. I also appreciate how new capabilities are added and existing ones evolve. Cons Once in awhile I encounter a limitation with how a particular quiz or interaction is set up (available parameters) and think "I wish it could do ". With a bit of creativity, I can usually find a workaround or different approach. Pros tied to Powerpoint which we use a lot. is relatively easy to use for basics. content library if we could get access to it has useful things in it. Really like I-learn capabilities. Cons We have struggles with publishing and being able to use in our existing external LIMS vendor. We have also struggled with keeping copies of originals and publishing, keeping that straight, since it requires you to download to edit/playback on other people's PC's so we have a central place to keep the base files and then have to put on flash drives or download all the files so they can review/edit on their PC. Definitely don't like the pricing of concurrent licenses which is ideal for our use, and the inability not to have access to the content library, which is charged by specific users. That makes no sense. I can't justify buying a content library for every person that may access and use the concurrent license. Why can we not have a concurrent content library access??? And Ispring Max is not available on yet on concurrent license either. These combined with high pricing of I-Learn system have been limits on me being able to push the use of this software further for all our CBT training stuff. We have other software packages available, but none are as quick or user-friendly. Additionally, it helps when my team doesn't have to create everything because all our contributors know how to use PowerPoint. Rather than have to build everything from scratch, we can have the contributor send us the materials, tweak it, and publish it in short order. Pros I had a problem develop and reached out to iSpring Support for assistance. Although it later turned out to be an issue with another system that was interfering with iSpring, the Tech Support Engineer, Elena, was very helpful in resolving the problem. After a lot of back-and-forth emails, she helped me determine where I needed to look for final resolution. Cons Nothing. What I least liked about the software was resolved when version 9 was released. Reason for choosing iSpring Suite I used iSpring while in college as part of a class, so when I started working in L&D full time it was a natural fit. At least they could let you have all the assessment types if they were also going to limit the amount of slides. Pros I like that it integrates with PowerPoint so it's familiar in that way. I like the ability to insert assessments. Cons The free version is too limited. I did a sample presentation and it was twenty slides and found out I could only publish 15 after the fact and a day before I was going to publish it for a presentation. Cons It can be a little tricky to sign in if you are part of a team, getting everything to work together. I teach foreign languages and my students need to practise on their own aspects like grammar, vocabulary, listening and reading comprehension. It's a great tool for creating interactive exercises with the added possibility of easily exporting them as Word documents, with or without the answers. Another important advantage is that I can configurate the quiz to receive students' work by mail and check their answers in detail. Last but not least: I do not need a internet connection to create activities and I can upload the scorm packages to different e-classrooms. Cons A crossword question would be nice to have. It would be great to enlarge the fonts while working and also be able to insert a picture gallery.
