Pros: After a 3 hour orientation (which could have been much shorter) I was able to see patients with EHR getting in the way. I¿ use several programs in my Locums work and this is the best by far.

Cons: The interface is a bit crowded so takes a minute to adjust and know where to find what you need, but it is easy to toggle between more and less on-screen info.

Comments: horrible product. wish I knew what I know now.

Pros: could do multiple things if worked correctly.

Cons: system always going down and no support regularly. system too difficult to navigate through. the cost is too high for the quality of the product. they charge for all features. everytime you call someone has to call back from india. no one person can assist you with all of your questions so you have to continue to have call backs for different issues. it may take months to have one problem fixed. i transitioned to the system at one year Im still having issues. Put in a help ticket...still takes weeks to have issue addressed. 400k losses later I switched back to my simple older emr. Better value. it works and customer service is in the us and available 24/7.

Pros: eClinicalWorks has a great format and is very user-friendly. Our practice escribes alot of prescription so the unlimited flat price is great, too.

Cons: So far, there are no big cons for eClinical. It would be nice to add a messaging feature instead of an email system to send messages.

Comments: High level practice manage system for large practices.

Pros: This software has a wide range of options for medical practices. There are many functions available. Support always follows up on any tickets/issues.

Cons: Can't always understand the customer service reps or techs due to a language barrier and I feel rude always asking them to repeat themselves.

Pros: Comments: If I were you, I would look at other emr. If you are looking for a mobile app, get pmd soft. It is amazing and reliable and all of our 50+ doctors were happy with it. Our change to eCW was made by our executive office and not by physicians choice. As a physician, I can tell you this app and the EMR in general is a poorly done one.

Cons: Cons: The mobile app is a joke. I can't believe this company is not embarrassed at the poor quality product they have developed. The eCW mobile app should be banned. We are loosing money by using it. Not reliable at all. Omg, it is so bad I don't even know where to start

Comments: Leadership team for the company is great and seem to know where they want to go.

Pros: Great for pulling out data analytics and helping you find groups of patients. Quality Improvement people should love it.

Cons: Not always intuitive for the end user. Not structured to help you remember all the elements you want to include in your documentation.

Comments: I would like more and specific training on how to make things easier in the software for the providers to make their lives easier.

Pros: How they treat there customers, they really listen to what we need and what in the software so they keep making enhancements every day.

Cons: Training with English speaking trainers on specific things that would help us get better at using the software

I work with ECW in health records and for the most part I find it to be a wonderful source.

Pros: There are a lot of reports, and ability to create code groupings is helpful. There are a lot of other practices on the product, so the software is familiar to other providers in our network.

Cons: Poor functionality for meaningful use/MIPS, reports are cumbersome and take a long time to run, system has many inefficiencies and upgrades are not frequent enough, system needs to be more flexible for customization, system is not efficient for a high volume practice.

Comments: The software works for some just not for us. We have had it for 3 years.

Pros: There is a lot to ECW. It may be very good for some practices. It is robust in some ways. It is easy to log into.

Cons: Just because a product/software is robust doesn't mean it is applicable to all. Very click intensive. For a new person, it is very cumbersome. Reports are the worst part. The info is simply not there. If i want ECW to create something specific, they charge and unreasonable amount.

Pros: What i like most is that you can do everything you need with one software: schedule, EMR and create claims. ECW can be tailored to fit individual needs.

Cons: There is not much that I do not like about ECW. I use it for scheduling and billing for a mental health office and the only problem that we have come across is that we can only select primary, secondary or tertiary for an insurance plan but for mental health we bill managed care plans which are different than medical plans.

Overall: The benefit of using ECW is that it is an all in one software: scheduling, billing and EMR.

The support is all indian and accents can be a real problem . There are many many clicks for even simple things.

Pros: They have built a lot of functionality in different spaces (online appointments, check-in kiosk, patient portal, patient messaging, etc.).

Cons: If there are more than a few sites or providers in your practice, they are likely not for you. They can't handle volume or scale, many processes are extremely manual. Their support is some of the worst I have ever experienced. Tier 1 support personnel do nothing but read from their user manuals, and escalations can take days or weeks. We had substantial problems that persisted for years that regardless of how many times we talked to eCW CEO & COO we saw no resolution. They simply couldn't handle our size (30+ clinics). It may look nice on the outside, but behind the scenes their products are a mess and unreliable.

Comments: eClinicalWorks serves our needs as a non-profit community health center. We have two internal employees who are eCW experts and remain up to date on all features, new releases, upgrade options, etc. Our success with eCW is that we have internal employees to turn to instead of relying on external customer service to assist us when we encounter an issue.

Pros: eClinicalWorks is fairly comprehensive, allowing us to customize template options and choose which features we want to utilize.

Cons: The upgrades for certain features, like the patient portal, are slow to be released. We have been told for years that an upgrade is on its way, but there is no release date and no further update.

We have been using ECW for about 5 years.

Pros: It is fast and they use a 3rd party-iTelagen for help. They are excellent but the eCW team is not responsive and difficult to communicate with.

Cons: The eCW customer engagement is terrible. They make promises to call back and don't. They make it difficult to contact. Several support staff are difficult to understand their English. It is inadequate and I would not recommend this software.

Pros: It has all the pieces we were looking for in an EHR: Medial, Dental, Vision, Behavioral Health. Having all of the pieces in one software package makes continuity of care much better, it's easier to do reporting, and easier to manage one software.

Cons: The Vision part of the software needs to be developed more. Other than that I haven't used it enough to give anymore cons.

Comments: I have attended about 8 eCW users conferences, including the first one in Orlando. I am a superuser. Initially, I was optimistic, but over time I have seen a lot of false promises and lack of USER -driven improvements. The whole feel of eCW is that of a clunky data gatherer. It is absolutely dreadful at the point-of-care. I didn't go to med school to be a data entry clerk. The piecemeal product now. Nickel and dime every little feature/service. When will an EHR come out that makes sense at the point of care?

Pros: Customizable - but be careful - you may have to redo everything after an upgrade. Reporting features and back office 'ok'. Portal, Healow app and eclinicalmobile are decent (though erx through mobile is wonky).

Cons: Too many clicks. Too many windows. Tiny boxes. Tiny font. Poor format. Early 2000's feel and look. Upgrades often require the user to fix data (re-map, correct NDC codes, etc. etc. etc.) which is a total pain for staff and the providers. Too many ways to achieve the same thing, just causes confusion. Internal messaging a joke.

Pros: Notes are typed, so they are legible.

Supposedly, the billing function is useful, however, my group does not use this.

Cons: -Very slow to startup, and uses a lot of resources on your desktop computer
-Too many clicks
-Too easy to make mistakes and lose work (where did my 5 paragraph note go?!)
-Not easy to customize
-eCW often generates medical errors
-interface is terrible--why can I only see 5 lines of typed text at a time? Why are there 5 buttons on a view that are all labeled the same thing? (No...use the "scan" button in the upper left, not the lower right)
--too many mandatory fields that are not relevant (I just want to see his past vitals...I don't want to enter a pain score right this second...)
--low quality document and photo uploads (I think that's a wound...but it's so pixelated)
--Easy to lose formatting in templates (if you click here, it's ok, but if you click over there, then all hell breaks loose)
--Anything that is not done in a billable visit has to be done in a telephone encounter
--E prescribe module is difficult to use and not consistent. (Sometimes you can type in a box, sometimes you have to click on a little number pad, the options for prescribing are in a weird order (alphabetical, ordinal), complex dosing, like a prednisone taper cannot be done.)

Overall: My notes can be seen and read outside of a paper chart. Other than that, not much

Overall

Features & Functionality

Value for Money

Cons: Not intuitive/user friendly
Doesn't multitask, can't open multiple windows at the same time, have to click too many times
Slow, freezes often
Has multiple glitches: particular one is with medications-when choosing a med for a diagnosis, somehow defaults to another diagnosis, so end up prescribing a med for an unrelated diagnosis; finding meds is not easy

Overall: I work within a medical group of 2-300 practitioners. I have been using the eCW for close to two years, and am having headaches everyday. Not very intuitive, and hard to navigate. Too many clicks. It can't multitask, i. e. can't open multiple windows at the same time. Have to click too many times to move to a different section, then come back to where you were previously, then end up having to go back because I forgot what I just saw(oops, that would be my fault...). I was using Allscripts before joining the current practice, and was complaining about it back then; now I would go back to Allscripts any minute. It's interesting to see how the users in the management side seem to love it, but for the practitioners like me, "Run, don't walk away from it" sums it up nicely.

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't choose this one! I can't believe I spent half an hour to write this review(and to read others) when I have tons of notes to write; just goes to show how passionately I loathe this EMR

Comments: I used e-clinical for 7yrs as a Front office and Billing Manager in a Family practice Clinic. It has some great functionality and really includes about everything. Customer support was very lacking and was hard to get things fixed it a timely manner, you had to rely a lot on your own IT staff. Overall great product that I still consult on all the time.

Pros: Great Billing area and claims management. Great reporting. Love the Patient central hub, you can find anything from there.

Cons: Customer support and setup for full functionality is lacking. if you know how to use the system it is great, learning it past the webinars is difficult.

Recommendations to other buyers: the Cost is really high and there are several other products that car comparable for a lot less and better support. if you do go there makes sure you choose a clearing house that integrates well with the system and who will talk to them for you. otherwise it will be a big headache.

Comments: Over all the system is easy to navigate. The look and feel of the product are very pleasing. If I could have my old, local technical support back, I would highly recommend this product, but due to the past 3 years of terrible customer and technical service, I'm reluctant to refer other clinics to this product.

Pros: Integrated system. Easy to maneuver from the front office to back office features. Many new enhancements over the past 10 years. "Trying" to stay up to date with moving target of healthcare.

Cons: Technical support is lacking immensely. The techs are more concerned about closing your "help desk ticket" than really helping you solve your issues. eCW states they are a Meaningful Use Certified EHR but have left their existing customers of almost 10 years in the dust when they discovered a programming error. Now clinics will be penalized 3% in Medicare payments in 2018. Report features are lacking. As of recently, they nickel and dime you for every new feature, upgrade, and/or request, such as interfaces, customized reports for all the government mandated programs, enhanced dashboards, etc. Communication with their customers, or lack there of, is very frustrating. eCW believes posting critical information on a website is "sufficient enough." When you're going to shut down the entire system for 3 days with no access or you tell your customers they're meeting meaningful use and then 7 days before the end of the reporting period eCW "discovers" their system is NOT reporting right, this should be important enough information to communicate directly to the customers, right? Nope, eCW posts the information on their website and "hopes" you log in a read the paragraph in a timely manner. NOT acceptable in my eyes. Mountains of improvement in customer service.

Recommendations to other buyers: I would really research other products before choosing eCW. The program is great, but the technical support and training, which you pay a lot of money for are quite frankly terrible!

Comments: If users are willing to use to full capabilities, this system is great! Reduce time needed for outgoing referrals, no more need for the receptionist to make patient reminder calls. ECW is geared to really work with your patients. Patient reminder calls, text when RX's are sent to the pharmacy, patient recall is great for our pediatric office. It is much easier to contact our patients that are grouped into ages for needed visits and vaccines.

Pros: ECW flows well from health management to practice management

Cons: Customer service knowledge of what a physician's office needs, is lacking

Recommendations to other buyers: If it all possible, close your clinic for training, at least half days for the week ECW is on site for go live

Comments: I helped start up eClinicalworks at the office that I worked at. They were extremely helpful (I worked with other EHR products that were not as helpful). It was easy learning the front end and the back end. I had little trouble doing templates. I would recommend this program to everyone. I do not have any relationship with this company except work at a different office than what I work today .

Pros: Everything it was easy to learn and it was easy to teach patients how to connect to it.

Cons: Nothing

Pros: I enjoy the easiness of the software.

Cons: I would like to be able to have multiple windows open instead of having to close them out before going into another.

Overall: I have utilized this software for about 5 months now and love it. All the information is at your fingertips. If you do not know how to use a function, their customer service is easily accessible and the representatives are more than willing to help you find your way and ensure all questions are answered.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be patient with the software when first training, it may seem overwhelming but there are many options to perform one task.

Comments: I have ben recently introduced to eclinical works for Electronic medical records. So far the system has been easy to learn and navigate.

Pros: Easy to use, quick adaptability, images integrate easily

Cons: Customer service hasn't been easiest to work with. It is possibly due to the contract obtained through a larger network, but training info isn't that helpful directly through the vendor.

Recommendations to other buyers: Be sure you have the tools in place to fully train your staff and once integrated have ongoing training/support.

Comments: The platform is Ok. The main flaw that I have is that there is no mail merge with the program. They only way you can send a mass email is through the patient portal. And when there are over 7000 patients it is a nightmare with patients calling to reset the portal password. It should just get sent to the email on file and not the portal.

Pros: Ease of use.

Cons: No mail merger

Comments: e-Clinical Works has been a decent EHR to assist us here at our facility. As a health care facility more time should be spent treating and providing care for patients instead of being on the phone with technical support. The technical support, for the most part, seems to have a lot of language barriers and they require a third party communication avenue to communicate with the computers. It is our hope that eCW 10e provides a less complex approach and resolves some of the current bugs faced with the 10 version.

Comments: I have often wondered about the popularity of ECW. After all, I think there are many better systems out there, it lacks many necessary features and it is not cheap. I believe ECW owes its success to a good sales team, and to the fact that potential users think: if it is adopted by so many users, it must be good. In big corporations, the decisions are made by administrators, not by physicians, and the former are not well attuned to the negative aspects of the software. Due to the nature of this software requiring website re-direction each time you order anything, there is a 3-4 second lag time that occurs every other click, and that adds up to a lot of wasted time at the end of the day. Windows cannot be minimized, and you cannot simply insert your cursor and start typing in a section of the chart. Therefore, if you are in the middle of writing your HPI and the patient asks you about her lab result, you have to x out of several windows, check labs and then re-open several windows, adding to as many as 13-14 clicks, and a major interruption of the workflow. The upgrade to version 10 was disastrous. Customer support is horrible. Interface with the hospital system (Cerner), with the labs and with Sure-Scripts is awful. There are many aspects that could be improved if there was any willingness on the part of their programmers to get better, but I think they take their popularity as an indication that they are doing well. The lab review process is cumbersome. When I have lab results for one patient that I want to review and post to the note, it takes me an average of 21 clicks. Rx eligibility is dysfunctional. Saving medications as favorites has not been working since the "upgrade". The conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10 was poorly managed. Our institution uses a separate office management software, with a lot of redundancy and poor interface.

Pros: Macros and order sets. The form of the finished note looks nice.

Cons: Everything else (see above)

Recommendations to other buyers: Stay away and dare to think differently. Just because everyone you know orders it does not mean you have to.

Comments: EClinical works the company is not physician friendly and is not concerned about your practice. The company wants to make a sale. The program itself can be useful in some practices; however, the amount of time and effort needed to set up the software program is poor. If you used a software program in your office and decided to change to EClinical .. be careful of data migration .. it may be incomplete. I believe that EClinical is comparable to other programs; however, the company support is poor. Therefore, if you like another software program .. use it instead of EClinical.

Pros: once the software is set up and running the program should be able to meet your goals

Cons: The company support is extremely poor. I do not recommend working with EClinical works

Comments: My experience with EClinicalWorks for Mental Health has been less than satisfactory. While this software system may be well-liked by PCP providers it is not at all the software system to use in mental health. The system is cumbersome and ill-fitting to say the least. Why is it that software developers fail to understand that their are multiple specialties within the medical field and that many of us practice under the same roof. In addition, we would appreciate and need a medical software program that is user-friendly for all specialties. Bottom line.....unless you are a GP, this is not the medical software program for you! Save your money!

Pros: For my profession, not a thing.

Cons: Cumbersome, Expensive, Not adaptable to other medical specialties, the list goes on and on...don't forget terrible customer support!

Recommendations to other buyers: Find a different medical software company!

Comments: I've used eCW for approx. 4 years. I find the product to be user friendly with a great deal of customization available. It's easy to learn and the online tutorials are customized for the staff so everyone is trained in the modules they would use most. It's the best PM/EHR combination I've used in my medical career. Many EHRs don't have the PM component so you are forced to use two different systems. You get both with eCW.

Pros: Customization options

Cons: Tech support used to be based solely in India and trouble shooting a tech issue with the language barrier was very frustrating. I understand that has been resolved and tech support during business hours is based in the US.

Recommendations to other buyers: Go through the demo. Get your doctors to go through the demo. Get different staff to view as well. Admin staff are going to look at different things than clinical people as well as doctors and billing staff.

Overall: eCLINICAL works is a medical records software program that our practice has been using since 2009. We have had a few issues over the years with upgrades etc...but ecw is always very helpful in working out the "bugs" and making it smooth in these transitions.

Comments: I am a patience of a office that is contracted with this system, I must say that it does not work. I been trying for the past 3 days to get into the system and is just impossible. First when I left the doctors office I was not setup with any password, they just told me to log in to the portal, so I tried to do a password retrieval the system did recognize my email and send me to a window where asked for my date of birthday or phone number in order to authenticate, I trying several times with one or the other nothing worked so I was locked out of the system, called the doctors office as per instructions on the screen and spoke with someone there who reset the password and told me to use my email as the username again it did not work, so I called again and they checked inside my registration if all was corrected email, day of birth, phone number everything matched, the lady at the doctors office reset my password again and this time I try cleaning my browser before. Again the system did not allowed me in, so I try again from my apple phone just to try one more browser and nothing. So don't even bother wasting money on this system it does not work. If I am a young person who builds websites and I cannot even get in imagine most of you patients who are mostly seniors how difficult it would be for them.

Pros: no pros

Cons: as I said from a patience perspective it does not work

Recommendations to other buyers: my advice is that you look for another company, this company does not even have a tech support team available for patience they rely on the doctors office to just reset password that not always will be the answer

Comments: I am a consultant who helps start practices. I always recommend eClinicalWorks for the low startup costs and ease of use. They have all of the implementations down to a science, and it is very easy to learn and implement.

Pros: It is very easy to learn, and billing administration and the billing process are both very easy and intuitive. Training is excellent.

Cons: I can't think of anything. Every system has things it cannot do that you wish it could, and eCW is no different in that regard. Even still, I believe it is the easiest and best value for the money.

Recommendations to other buyers: Start early, as the implementation schedule can be up to 14 weeks, and it is relatively inflexible. But at the end, you end up with a great product that you know how to use.

Comments: We are using this product since 2012 with promise that we can create all kinds of reporting with liberty like medisoft, billing softwear. We have to submit reports every year for RHC. Every year we have hard time to run reports & support does not cover it at all. For special reports to bulid they charge you EXTRA. This year they are asking for money just to do reports. Their reporting system is much lower then Medisoft & other billing softwear. You can not have DISTINCT/ clean report foe each claim. If you want to have distinct/ clean reports then this EMR is not for you.

Cons: Reporting is disaster. Security for Financial data is disaster too. Very hard to attach data for meaningful use & NO HELP or training without MONEY.

Recommendations to other buyers: IF YOU LIKE CLEAN DISTINICT REPORTS & BETTER SUPPORT WITHOUT COSTING EXTRA MONEY, DON'T BUY THIS.

Comments: I am using many billing softwares ( kareo, nuemd, eclinicalworks, emdeon). Out of all Eclinicalworks is expensive but it is so worthy!!! This is the best and easiest software i have ever used! It has everything! Its very easy to use! You can look up patients charts, do billing, collection, send bills, manage payments and so much more and you do not need any other additional programs. Costumer service is also very helpful and professional and you don't have to wait on the phone forever to speak to them

Cons: The product is 2-3 times more expensive then others like nuemd, advancedmd or emdeon. Once again its worthy but the price differs a lot from all other softwares

Recommendations to other buyers: If choosing between the softwares that i used, spend a little more money but definitely get eclinicalworks!!!

Pros: I had a horrible time getting the product up and running. We continued to complain and help was very slow, if any for a lot time. The service has improved but I would still not recommend this product.

Cons: I wish I had recorded the sale person who demonstrated the product. The program he used look different from what I have. In addition, my receptionist took one of their webinar courses and stated that it was a waste of time as the program they used was more user friendly than what we were given. I have to agree. I complained to the company about this issue. I feel I was given an order version of the program demonstrated yet they deny this. In addition, I picked this emr over another because I was promised it included telemedicine as well as medical dragon. I purchased the more costly of the two plans offered which was listed as comprehensive and included "Nuance dragon" only to be took after I signed the contract and complained that telemedicine was extra. It is not listed in my contract but I understood "comprehensive package" as included it rather than the basic package. The Nuance dragon I am told is "Nuance like" If I want the real nuance medical dragon I have to pay for it myself. The emr went live in the middle of May, yet it was not functional until late July, I was made to pay for it the whole time because the patient registration portion which was the only usable part of the emr was being used. Forget the fact that billing and patient notes was not functional. For the aggravation I was given only one month credit.

Recommendations to other buyers: I wanted to have EMR up from the beginning of opening my practice. I tell my colleagues DO NOT RUSH IT. Stay on paper until you find a good EMR. There is a big fee for canceling the product. In addition, if possible, I HIGHLY recommend you video tape the demonstration and obtain what is included and what is extra cost. I personally asked if telemedicine and Nuance medical dragon was included at least twice during my demonstration and was assured it was. Bottom line, the sale person is like a car salesman. He trying to make the sale, that is how he makes his living. He will say anything to make the sale. GET IT ON TAPE!

Pros: Have a slick sales force, and promises as lot. Delivers little. Not worth the effort to try and use. People are n ice, but very rigid and have limited ability to help (company policy?)

Cons: Delivers on little. Difficult to talk to and communicate with Tries to be like Apple with only phone and online support, but is a very, very poor imitator. should be considered an Imposter

Recommendations to other buyers: Don't use this. Make sure the demonstration shows completely what will be accomplished and needed. Not just faceprint and fluff. Get all promises in writing. No payments until they deliver what they promise, and you are up and running.

Pros: nothing

Cons: Very time consuming to prepare a high quality note. Have to open and close text boxes for everything, so too many clicks. Can't just start a new note and click in what you want. Can't create your own user lists, which are helpful for keeping track of certain populations.

Overall: I worked for a teaching clinic that came on board in 2011 with ecw. Horrible program, freezes, have to click in and out of multiple boxes, up to 80 clicks to finish a consult note, submit the bill, and delegate the note to the referring physician. Supposed to be okay for small practices, but awful for a teaching clinic with new learners coming in every month. In the system I had to use, you couldn't change the font size, which was tiny (font 9). So glad I am in a new job and get to use EPIC.

Pros: I have not found anything that I really like or feel this software excels in.

Cons: So much clicking to get to anything and nothing is areas that make any sense. There are to may options and ways to get to the same thing. This software is clearly dated and runs on old dos based like programs. I have been doing medical work for over 15 years and sheesh this software really takes me back to software I used 8 or 9 years ago. Also listen to the reviews on the errors and freezing you will deal with it constantly. You can only do one thing at a time. You cant open multiple windows or move popups around on your screens. ECW's advice is to open multiple EWC windows at a time...I have not had to do that for years in a software. Implementation is horrible and it seems like the majority of the staff at ECW is all foreign and/or overseas. It is so hard to understand anyone. Training was terrible and just created more questions, no workflow was trained or set up. Trainer bounced all over the place. Also once you are completed with the nightmare of the implementation you have little resources for communication, it is either open a case or IM chat with someone. You cant actually call anyone for help. Product is WAY over sold on the front end and does not have the goods to deliver on the back end.

Recommendations to other buyers: Listen to the bad reviews of others. Ask IT personnel if they know of good up-to-date user friendly systems. There is defiantly better options out there to choose from.

Pros: Fairly easy to use but customer support is useless.

Cons: They have no way of verifying users so if you call them with a problem, they cannot help you unless you are the administrator. They suggested filing a case which I cannot do because, you got, I am not an administrator. The is the first support team I have called in 7 years of practice, who actually cannot provide any support.

Recommendations to other buyers: Find a way to verify users. As a physician, I am at work more often than practice administrators which means sometimes I need help when the administrator is not here. Your company has a stupid policy requiring verification only by administrators, you need to be able to verify users as well because sometimes people are just not in the office and those who are here need to get work done

Pros: I like the customization of the EMR, and the fact that you can have quick access to all of the records, labs, images, etc while IN THE SOAP note. You don't have to click out of the note to get to those items, which is not the case with a lot of EMRs. Eclinical is quite complex which can be a great thing, but it's also a bit overwhelming at first.

Cons: Eclinical is quite complex which can be a great thing, but it's also a bit overwhelming at first. Also, if you are using Macs in your practice, it is not completely compatible yet. They are working on it but the system is new and there have been a lot of kinks at first.

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure you and your staff are computer savvy. If not, Eclinical works is very complicated and would take a long time to understand. If you have a large practice or hospital system, then this could be a great option for you.

Pros: This software has a very user friendly interface, and is easy to navigate. The ability to view EOBS directly on a claim, leave claim specific notes to that claim and the easiness to balance out a claim/ patient balance makes it very pleasant to use as a medical biller. The scheduler tool is also very easy to use and is easy on the eyes. Overall it is a great software, and I would highly recommend it.

Cons: The software's reports are difficult to view since the changes made about a year ago. They require you to open an outside reporting website via internet explorer, and re-log in with your eClinical credentials. The way the system was prior to this, made it capable to generate reports within the EMR system. Just so you are aware, the support team is located over seas, and can be difficulty to reach at times.

Recommendations to other buyers: Evaluate what your specific needs are in an EMR/EHR/Billing Software. The accessibility and ease of use definitely put this product ahead of other programs. The cost may seem excessive, but worth it in the end. I recommend making a pros and cons list before selecting a software.

Pros: Nice clean easy to use UI for appointments, prescriptions, and lab results.

Cons: I have tested the eClinicalworks web service urls on ssllabs.com. The cipher security is not exactly up to par for medical applications. First of all it does not default to the second newest version of TLS (1.1) for those who can't use TLS 1.2. Instead it skips down to TLS 1.0, a version with well known vulnerabilities to a BEAST attack. Although the BEAST vulnerability is server-side mitigated, client side vulnerabilities are still possible. Also the server is set to prefer 128 bit encryptions over 256 encryptions. I understand that 128 bit encryption of RC4 and various others only recently became deprecated. Since their web blog is talking about server side updates for the application I hope they are working to resolve those issues. But the fact they make the backwards compatibility immediately skip down to TLS 1.0 is questionable. Maybe for compatibility with external services that still rely on TLS 1.0?

Recommendations to other buyers: Just because a lock symbol shows up left of your browser's url does not automatically mean it is secure. Use ssllabs.com for any website you trust with confidential information such as banking, medical, insurance, accounting, legal etc. For those that don't understand the technical jargon behind the tests, a nice easy to read letter grade is provided to give a good glimpse of the product's quality of security. Otherwise in the mean time, avoid public Wifi hotspots when using this product. Also avoid using forms that support HTML without clearing your cookies for this product first. Also avoid questionable hyperlinks.

Pros: Very easy to use and powerful front end. IF the product is set up correctly.

Cons: Interoperability is challenging. Since the back end is proprietary, connecting to standard interface engines is challenging. Support for FIHR, HL7 or IHE profiling (or OMOP) MUST involve the company. The company is difficult to deal with when you want to port your data using these tools. It is possible, but very expensive and very time consuming

Recommendations to other buyers: Make sure that you set up everything perfectly first. decide what files you want to share, which ones you don't. decide what your level of patient engagement is going to be eventually, not just for today. Once you perform setup, it is next to impossible to change your mind later.

Pros: I can use this system with Dragon Speak. It was fairly easy to learn.

Cons: The software is poorly planned. The Meaningful Use system is fraudulent and does not tally the patients accurately, even after multiple phone calls and outside help on my end.

Comments: eCW has many good features, I guess. I am using it for less than a month. I found it very time consuming to record a note. From CC to the, there are lots of clicks. My previous systems were way better regarding this aspects. These also have clicks, but not as many.
I signed for RCM cycle, the way they bill is questionable!. For me, they have not submit/or collected a single claims, but already charged my credit card for 2 months. My understanding is that they supposed to charged 2.9% of the collection each month.
Customer service do respond after you submitting the ticket, but most of the time they have limited option to solve your concern. for example, I wanted to reorder a medicine with clicking the medicine/ (or a button next it), that is seen in external medication history, But they do not have that option. and also they can not customize it. I wanted to have a Blank ROS, I.e.list of Constitution/ HEENT/CVS/Lungs/Gi.....etc with out content in each system. but they said its not possible... each system has to have at least dots (...), and then click the dots....a new window open, then more clicks...and so on...

Pros: I like that the patient's DOB is on the Account CBO screen. That's it. There is nothing else redemptive about this program.

Cons: The tech support is ridiculous. They are all based in India and are not helpful at all. Payments are never posted in the contractually obligated amount of time, payment postings are missed regularly so I have to babysit the batches to ensure that patient's accounts are posted accurately, the "team leader" (Ricarlus) is useless and continues to apologize for things they've missed, I have to track all of my tasks to make sure they get completed because they often get overlooked/missed, statements don't always go out to the patients, the list goes on and on and on......

Recommendations to other buyers: Do not use eClinicalWorks. It is by FAR the worst medical billing software I have ever used (and this is my 5th software program). Our clinic moved to a new software program this summer and I am thankful to not have to use eClinicalWorks. It is so inefficient and redundant because they don't do their jobs correctly the first time, so you are forced to double/triple check their work. I'm not sure how they are in business.

Pros: If everything is working, it works fine. Able to access records from multiple locations.

Cons: On a daily basis at least one person in this 3 physician office has problems. Usually several people in the office have to restart because ECW freezes. Also, features will mysteriously stop working for a day or two, and then just as mysteriously start working again. My office manager spends time every day trying to keep ECW up and running.

Recommendations to other buyers: Get a money back guarantee. The updates seem to cause problems and should be installed with caution.

Recommendations to other buyers: This software is designed so that anyone can use it. From registration, on down to providers. And I would recommend that if medical practice facilities are researching software, they should invest in this software.

Pros: Well because I work front office and back office for front office it's pretty easy to register patients and put insurance information in the system and to verify the insurance which is done by the system also for as back office the system will drop patient's vitals in the system and it also shows how long a patient has been in office starting from check in to check out. It's also easy to order certain labs that needs to be done before seeing the doctor such as glucose finger stick, pregnancy test etc and it's also is easy to put it in the system as well.

Cons: I don't like the fact that CPT codes doesn't appear in the visit note so for instance if doing a prior authorization you have to search for the code and you have to be sure to have the right one.

Recommendations to other buyers: It's not a hard software to learn it's very accessible.

Pros: I Like eClinicalWorks because it is easy to navigate from one task to another if you know exactly where to go. There's many ways that you can open up different tasks you don't have to go to especially to docs to be able to scan which is really helpful at times. As well as not having to close your page to check another patient.

Cons: I don't like from eClinicalworks when you put a message that the patient just wants on their chart it has to be assigned to someone directly and has to be reviewed. I also don't like how people can easily make a double chart for patients even though it does pick it up later but then most of the work has been done put in.

Recommendations to other buyers: eClinical is very handy but of course like any other product people need advice to help it out my opinion. I think it be best if there was a place for just notes from the patient a place where you can log example: patient called will be late this would give better access to others faster communication. As well as not being able to start a new chart until you have put in the search box the name that way it can be checked if existing and started if it is not in charts.

Pros: What I like most about eClinicalWorks is that it is very user-friendly. Literally anyone can learn it quickly and if you didn't grasp it the first time, it is made very easy to figure out without having to call eClinicalWorks. Another thing that I like about eclinicalWorks is that it makes registering the patient very easy and fast. Since we have the ability to scan in the demographic info, such as the address, name, DOB, and picture it makes it soooooo easy.

Cons: What I don't like about eClinicalWorks is that it's way too easy to create a double chart. Also sometimes the system/scanner doesn't recognize the address characters or the spacing on our state's id/dl. But it doesn't take away that it helps tremendously when registering a patient.

Recommendations to other buyers: The pros of eClinicalWorks are far greater and better than the negatives.

Comments: Horrible support. Absolutely worthless training (our trainer, who we had to put up in a hotel and pay all travel costs for, even said "I don't know why they sent me...I'm not ready for this"). They jack up the price after you are "in" and it is, like all EMRs, quite difficult to get "out". CLUCKY CLUNKY CLUNKY software based on MSQL. My practice used Athena previously which runs on Oracle platform and Athena is a far far superior product from a back office perspective, but I was not happy with the EMR they integrated so I looked for an alternative and made the mistake of reading the reviews of ECW that I am certain now were bought and paid for. Huge error in judgment. My office staff loved Athena and hates ECW. If only Athena had possessed an attractive EMR I would have stayed and now I regret not adapting to their EMR. ECW requires huge bandwidth to use ASP model - and still slow even with fiberoptic fastest service Verizon offers. FREEZES chronically. Completely non-intuitive. Hate it. Loses typed in data on a regular basis and you have to start over. Worst decision of my professional life. Absolutely regret the day I got sucked in to this POS. I am going to be looking into Modernizing Medicine EMR but I will be more cautious this time. Makes me want to quit medicine.
