It is so easy and flexible to use across platforms, it was so easy to implement in my classroom and helped me keep my students motivated and focused at all times while having fun, it also helped me keep in touch with parent which was a hard thing to do during the pandemic, Both students and parents loved the experience which makes it a must for me to recommend it to every teacher around the world. Pros I like how classDojo makes is teacher-parent interaction easier. i love the videos it provides that teach social and emotional skills. I like the point system ClassDojo uses which helps motivate students. I love how you can use it on Tablets, phones, laptops, etc... i like how fun, easy and customizable it is. Staying in touch with the parents! The helpful activity suggestions! Synchronization from mobile to laptop and desktop with a login! The tracking and recording both positive and negative behaviors I really like, and students know that parents can be notified not only by phone, but instantaneously by Class Dojo messenger! Love this software! Cons Would be nice if a seating chart was available, especially when I sub because learning names is a little challenging. Would also be nice to see an integration with the students where the students can log in and see private messages from the teacher instead of being pointed out in front of the class - which sometimes encourages negative behavior. June 16, 2020 5.0 I have found that ClassDojo is an excellent way to motivate students to stay on task, work together in teams, set and achieve goals and complete assignments. Parents appreciate the constant communication provided through this software, even more so since our school had to move to distant virtual learning.. Pros Being able to provide immediate feedback is what I like the most about this software. That feedback is extended to students throughout the school day as well as parents where I can respond quickly to a Dojo message, share information and provide explanations about behaviors. Cons I am hard pressed to find something I do not like about this software. It seems as if the creators are constantly making adjustments, updates and upgrades based on teacher request to meet the needs of all the users. Review Source Pamela M. Communicate with with parents with a highly functional txting app without giving out your personal number. I had one security issue arise and it was managed fast by customer service. Sometimes you don't want to give out your cell number. It has been particularly helpful during virtual learning, to ensure that parents had the information that they needed, when they needed it. The platform also allowed them to reach out and request support if they needed it, which made the whole virtual-learning process so much easier on all of us. Pros I love that I can use my classroom management techniques, and communicate with parents all in one place. It makes it very easy to ensure that parents and I are on the same page, and opens up the door for all sorts of conversations/ communication between parents, students, and myself. Cons Sometimes the software will crash when there are too many users. I dislike this because it hinders me from being able to access and deliver important information in a timely manner. Pros I’ve used Class Dojo since 2015 and I don’t imagine getting rid of it anytime soon! It is basically my class Instagram page but is safe to protect my students. I use it everyday to communicate with parents, post class photos, and utilize for whole class management. Class Dojo also saved me when we transitioned to distance learning in 2020. Students used the portfolio feature to turn in classwork. I love this app! Cons I wish parents could sign up for events using class dojo. That would prevent me from going through sign up genius too create parent teacher conference signups. I also wish class dojo would offer rewards like class tag. November 3, 2021 5.0 Overall I think class dojo is the perfect app to stay in touch with teachers and your child all day. I love class dojo, it's so easy to use and its free! Pros This app is so easy to use! I love that I can stay in touch with my child's school and teachers all day, every day! I can see reports on how my child is behaving throughout the day, I get pictures of fun activities that they do, and if anything needs to be addressed the teacher can directly send me a message or an update or vise versa! And we get sent reminders on class dojo if there are no school days, or special events coming up, so we never miss anything. Cons Honestly there's nothing I don't like about this app! Pros I liked the ability to share with parents, how their child's behavior was in the classroom. It was another way to communicate with parents. Pros ClassDojo has made it easier for my kids' teachers to share various updates and photos. I began getting updates when my son was in preK so I've been using the app for about 6 years now and never had any glitches or issues. Cons It would have been nice if the ClassDojo had been better integrated with the school, like linked from their website at least, and for more consistency of use by teachers. I deleted it because one teacher did not use it but then the teacher the next year used it. Sending a quick message to a teacher to check on how my child’s progress is throughout the week is great. Pros I absolutely love class dojo, the best thing is being able to keep in touch with my child’s teachers on a daily basis. It’s great to see all the things my child’s school has posted for the day. Cons The least thing about this app is things for the child, although my child loves to scroll through the feed and see pictures of his classmates. It also serves as a fantastic method to foster connections with parents. Cons This may be contradictory to what I mentioned about motivating the students but it is possible that students who receive more points could cause more trouble, make others feel inferior, and could make them think that there is favoritism in the classroom. Pros I loved that this was a tool that really helped connect me, as a teacher, with several of the lesser-engaged parents. The kids would be very proud of their good scores and work towards tangible goals set up by both parents and myself. When kids weren't doing good, negative concerns would be immediately accessible by parents, so they would be able to open discussion lines right after the school day ended. More errors and 'can't display' on 4 different browsers and numerous computers. Crashes, locks up, very unstable program. I highly recommend it to educators and parents looking to track their students/kids progress and to keep communication open amongst all parties involved. Pros The thing I like the most about Class Dojo is my ability to communicate directly and indirectly with my children's teachers. I no longer have to wait for returned phone calls or email responses as I can utilize this application to reach my children teacher as well as monitor their progress. Cons The only issue I have had with Class Dojo is it inability at times to push notifications to my device in a timely manner. There have been occasions where I have received messages from my child's teacher and didn't receive the notification until I had already picked my child up from school.
