Pros I have been using Class DoJo in my classroom for the last 3 years and it really helps kids work towards their goals. I have it on my phone which allows me to quickly reward students for good/bad behavior. The fact that families can easily sign up with a code, and access the updates from phone, tablet, or web browser is great. We're bought in! Pros In the past, getting a good pulse on your child's day-to-day behavioral and academic progress was more of a challenge. Class Dojo takes away the need for frequent face-to-face conferences by providing families with daily communication notifications, including a feed for photos and videos from the school day. It's almost like shadowing your child's class without actually doing it. Also, they have an incredible language-translation tool. Cons The tool itself if very easy to use and navigate. Our only con is actually on the admin side when the teachers don't use it frequently, or to it's full potential. June 5, 2018 4.0 Pros I like that teachers can customize the icons representing their students and that they can send pictures of things that are happening in the classroom to the parents. Parents really appreciate seeing their kids and knowing what is going on in the classroom. " July 16, 2019 5.0 This has really helped encourage my daughter to do better in school with her behavior, listening and participation and made the school year MUCH easier! Pros I love that I am able to communicate with my daughter's teacher throughout the day. Her teacher is able to give her points or take them away depending on her behavior and it allows us to know what we need to focus on more at home when it comes to behavior. We are very happy with Class Dojo and my daughter loves looking at her daily points/percentage at the end of the day. Cons Nothing. Everything is wonderful! Great app! Pros I love the updates I receive throughout the day from the teachers. It is a great help to know exactly what his class is working on at any given time. I like the conversational way it flowed. Easy to access. Cons There was some learning curve for me. I am an older student and it took me awhile to figure some of the features out. I just started asking other classmates how to use the features and that helped. I like that I can have the app on my phone and easily be notified if I've received an update or message without having to check in with the teacher Cons I wish it was a little more detailed. Pros I like how each student is able to customize their own avatar for the class dojo, as well as how they are able to track their classroom behavior through points. Cons What I like least about the software is the limit of users we can add to the program. Furthermore, it doesn't show the data for the students to be able to print out and share. Being able to use the phone app in the hallway to build consistency was useful. For students needing constant visuals and consistent feedback to review at the end of each day, ClassDojo was helpful. Pros Kids straighten themselves out fairly quickly when they hear the 'ding' for negative behaviors. When they are unaware of who was noted, they pause and rethink their own actions. Some parents appreciate the reports. Cons Consistency is difficult with large groups of students. Many older students stop responding to the pavlovian style of management. I used it both as a parent and later as a teacher. It was easy for me as a parent to keep in contact with my childrens teachers. I did not need to search emails or google classrooms, everything was handled through the apps interfaces. As a teacher, I found it a great opportunity to keep my parents updated with their students work. And its built in pbis features helped keep students engaged in class. Pros It is cute, and it allows the students to see right away how they are doing and if they need to correct a behavior or event. It is a very good system for sharing comments and pictures to students and family. Cons It is so very cute. It is hard for older students to take it seriously. And the overly sophisticated students are annoyed with its cute factor. October 10, 2018 4.0 Pros As a parent I like this tool, its a great tool to interact with the teachers and know the progress or activities happening in my son's class. My son loves this tool. My son's class teachers are really active and they do leave a group messages to remind things which really helps us to remind if I missed something. We can see kids reports there which is cool I guess. The dashboard is pretty simple and easy to understand. Cons No concerns or complaints as of now. It has worked great with the function we are looking to use it for! Kids are motivated to get the dojo point each day and it has helped with behavior issues. Pros Very easy to get parents connected to classrooms and to write messages quickly to individuals instead of having to send an email. Like having texting with student's parents without them having your personal number. Cons My least favorite feature is not being able to move the classes when you are apart of many. Pros For younger students (K-3rd) Class Dojo tracks student behavior by using points and monster emojis. Teachers can individualize behaviors they want the class to focus on and students get points for exhibiting those behaviors. Pros As a parent, I love that my children's school uses Class dojo to view their progress during the day. It's extremely easy to navigate and very simple to see updates. It is easy and effective. Pros It is easy to set up a classroom. You can customized your positive and negatives behaviors. I also loved the immediate feedback with parents, and tracking of behavior.
