I like that you can see your child's daily progress through the app. Cons I dislike that in the app there is no option to delete old messages. I see my inbox as a little trashy. I hope the school my children attend continue to use this. Pros ClassDojo is a great app! It is very easy to navigate and I love being able to see pictures and get updates of my children throughout the day. Cons There is nothing about ClassDojo that I don't care for. Class Dojo is easy for both teachers and students to use. Pros Students are so engaged in Class Dojo! They love that they can customize their character, and they get excited to track their points and earn rewards. I love that you can customize the skills to meet the needs of your students. Cons There isn't much that I dislike about Class Dojo. If anything, I would say that it would be nice to click multiple skills at once for a student. Review Source ZB Zachary B. It keeps me up to date on my child's daily behavior and assignments, as well as progress. It's a nice application compared to depending on your child for the information. Pros I love the fact I don't have to depend on my child to let me know whether or not she did good on homework. As well as the fact it keeps me posted on upcoming events. Pros Our teachers love this program because they can easily send information/pictures right to parents. Our parents love it because they see pictures and learn about their child's day in real time. Cons Setting up the classrooms was a litle time consuming - a desktop version would have helped, if only for setup. It provides a real time experience to understand what is going on at the school through a feed of photos and videos. Pros ClassDojo is an excellent tool to track down the activities conducted in the school on a daily basis and acts as a connecting link between the parents and teachers. Cons Photos and Videos uploaded in the app are not very easy to download. I am not sure if there is a way to do this. Photos and Videos should be made shareable too. January 12, 2019 5.0 Pros This product was awesome for managing positive and negative behaviors in the classroom. It also allows for student buy in because they can create their "dojo." It was also extremely easy to connect parents and have them be able to use it live time to see their student's behavior in the classroom. The message feature also made parent contact easy. Cons I enjoyed this product and would continue using. It does seem to work better at an elementary level. By middle school many students no longer cared. Review Source JJ Jessica J. My students love using it and aim to do well! Pros As a teacher Class Dojo has been a wonderful tool to incorporate into the classroom. It creates a fun and well behaved class. Cons I have not had any problems using Class Dojo and I have not seen any thing that needs improvements. I have even more love and acceptance for this program. I really love how it keeps everyone in the loop with the parents, teachers, and students. It really keeps the student in order, and especially if a child misses anything at all, they will never be left out, like the early days, of waiting to go back to school to get what was missed. You can always insure that your child will be caught up and will never be left out of the class work that was done in school. I honestly don't think they could make a better program at this point. Cons Absolutely no complaints about this program. I have used it with my niece and you really does keep you in charge of your own child. Especially if their little fibbers! I like that they can easily award positive reinforcement points without interrupting the flow of the instructional lesson. I also like that students can track and manage their own progress. This program also connects to the parents to give them updates on their student's behavior. Cons It can be used as a crutch rather than a positive reinforcement for students and teachers. However, that's more a problem with an individual teacher's implementation rather than a problem with the software. Review Source EP Emily P. My favorite part about Class Dojo is that notifications are sent straight to the parent so they can (1) be involved in student learning and (2) see students behavior. I love that I can post a picture to this so that parents stay connected. Cons I dislike that there isn't an option for specialists. In order to use this as a specialist, you have to make a class for the entire section rather than just more specific for the class period. Makes staying up to date with my kids classrooms so much easier than emails and flyers sent home in folders (which always seem to get lost.) Pros I love that it gives me and my husband the opportunity to get real time updates from my sons teacher. His teachers post pictures, comments and announcements making staying informed a breeze. I like knowing how my child’s day was at school with the points they’ve earned and I like being being able to message the teacher if needed. Pros Teachers can post live updates on a student or the class as a whole. You can also receive points progress for your child so you know how their day is going. You can see pictures, class updates, etc. it’s a great tool for parents who can’t be there during special class time. Cons You don’t get notices when your child’s teacher posts something. However, I worry about the behavioral focus that the program lends itself to. Pros Class Dojo is used by the schools of most of my child clients. Families love it as it allows them to have real time access to their child's behavioral functioning in school. It makes is easy and simple to keep communication between school and home consistent and frequent. Cons The set up of the program is mainly behavioral and can lead teachers to focus only on behaviors and report negative behaviors more frequently. There are many options for how to use the program and what to report but it does not appear to be used as much as simple behavioral reporting. Review Source ZV Zeola V. Pros I liked that it had alot of exciting stuff for my kids too use and do. I also like that it was full of up to date activities. Cons I think that the thing I liked least about this product is it was very confusing when you want to correct a mistake it was really hard to go back and do this. It gives all the features for communication between the school and the parent. Pros The app was used for teacher- parent communication and updated from the daycare my daughter was attending. It was super functional and easy to use and provides real insight into the daily life of the classroom. Cons Haven't found anything I would think of - everything worked well for me during the time I was using it. The "stickers" that teachers can assign each child, all throughout the day, really helps to motivate my child, and makes me feel involved even when I am nowhere near the school. Cons The app for iphone was not working super efficiently for a while, but recent updates have helped this significantly. Pros I am able to give my students a positive points for good behavior but I also re-direct by giving negative points if needed. I am also able to message parents has been so helpful as a communication tool! Cons The only thing that is difficult about this product is if the parent does not download the app they are not able to see points or messages, but that is at no fault of the software.
