We appreciate the customer service that we receive from Growthzone, considering the major time differences between Guam and your support staffs' locations. They are always pleasant and supportive.
Overall, we are satisfied. The support we receive is excellent, and issues are resolved quickly.
As a new employee for a small association, Memberzone has has proven a great resource time and time again. The support system is brilliant and you really get your moneys worth from their team.
From the beginning (about 18 months ago) Memberzone has been a huge part in the organization of our membership. The training was great and the customer service is fabulous.
Cons
Gone are our multiple spreadsheets of information and wasting time trying to hunt down information. Now it's all neatly in GrowthZone.
Website is hard to function, we have trouble moving stuff around and I wish there was an undo button.
For the money we pay I'd think there would be a more current user interface. We'd be willing to serve on a user design focus group.
We were tired of using multiple software platforms to achieve our goals.

"Great organization for my membership. "
Pros: Very easy to pull up members accounts, billing information, general contact information, and the reps information. Making membership mailing labels and membership reports is very easy with this software. I use this software to easily find any membership representative information I need. This software has also made it easy to look up and find a member.
Cons: The only con I have for this software would be the new update, i'm so used to the old version it'll take time to learn the updated.

Overall: Overall, I like GrowthZone. It is easy to use. You have excellent customer service over the phone and through chat. Not so much via email.
Pros: I like the ease of use and the integration to QuickBooks.
Cons: There is such a lag time between emailing support and finally getting a response. Chat support is much faster but sometimes I don't have time to sit and wait to chat so I'll send an email. Getting an email response takes way to long though.

"As we become more intentional, we have had challenges"
Overall: The platform can be tremendously cumbersome. Little inefficiencies compound and become frustrating. Help tickets often take significant time for a response. We've had some wonky things happen that haven't been explainable. That being said, since we are using GZ more broadly than we did a year ago, we have been able to drop other memberships (Mail Chimp, Event Brite, etc).
Pros: Website and email integration. The ability to easily send emails to our database via lists - while also analyzing open rates is great. Having membership information and events publish directly to the website ensures accuracy and reporting.
Cons: The website is horribly slow and cumbersome to update. The email designer is not user-friendly. Line spacing, in particular, is not consistent and on occasion is not reflective of preview drafts. I have difficulty creating custom reports. It would be beneficial to have the option to not send confirmation emails to members when registration changes occur. Likewise, a question to not automatically refund payments would be beneficial. When "back end" changes need to be made, the member doesn't need to know. The ability to customize formatting in the email designer and the website integration via a program similar to MS Word would be WAY better. Connecting custom invoices to an event would be helpful. There are a number of additional items we need to be able to track for grant reporting that could use fields - NAICS codes, logging assistance time with a member, number of employees, gross sales, and demographic information are all items we need. The ability to create and distribute surveys would be helpful.

Overall: The implementation team has been absolutely wonderful. This will have been my sixth big software transition and [sensitive content hidden] have been some of the best implementation people I have worked with.
Pros: It is organized in a way that is easy to use. The training resources are thorough and well-developed, which makes it easy to train others on the system--even after we're up and running.
Cons: Not being able to create an invoice-generating form has caused us to need to rethink how we can make some of our processes work. The workarounds are not ideal, so we'd love to see this as an update in the future.

"Why is GZ different? Answer ..... Customer Service Team!"
Overall: i started using GZ 4 days before the pandemic was announced by WHO. i had ZERO training or knowledge of GZ. My lifeline was the support team. I was in the chat several times a day, i took all courses offered (more than once) and documented everything i discussed with the customer service team. If it would not have been the TREMENDOUS customer support, i would not have succeeded in getting the client up and running as quickly as i did. AND they never spoke to me in a tone that would have indicated "you should know this". They were always willing to walk me through the basics and over time, my questions grew and more complicated. Through it all, the customer service team is an extension of me and they make me better and smarter each time i call. They are what makes GZ different from other providers. THANK YOU!

Overall: Overall it has been great. We came from a very old and outdated AMS and this has been a wonderful transition.
Pros: It is very user friendly. Easy to create emails, easy to update the front end of the website, etc. It also has nice features such as marketing automation and sponsor ads.
Cons: There are a few things that don't work as one would hope, but GZ is good about making updates. The customer service through email is very very slow. It takes weeks to get a response back.

Overall: We switched from another platform because the user experience wasn't what it needed to be to make us competitive. We also believe GrowthZone will help us grow for many years. We also like the variable rate payment option, particularly in our early years.
Pros: We use the Events, Web Content (blogs), and Lists (contact manager) all the time. They're easy to use and produce a great-looking member experience. As we grow, we'll use more of the Reports to track engagement and renewals. The website editor is also great for designing something professional and for ease of editing. The support service is great. We always get an answer within a day.
Cons: The accounting menus could be simplified. The Boolean operators in list creation don't work consistently.
"GrowthZone - So Far, So Good"
Pros: Our association had been searching for a new AMS after being with our old system for over 7 years. We needed something fresh & up-to-date for our members. After a couple of months of research and demo requests, we decided to go with GrowthZone. We really like that this company offers a mobile app for our members. We also got a new website through GrowthZone which is considerably better than our old, slow site. We've received a lot of compliments from our members already. The system seems to be fairly simple to use for billing, event management and membership organization. We have not gone through a membership renewal season yet so can not speak to how smoothly that runs.
Cons: We did have an issue with moving our members into the system on the backend before launching GrowthZone association-wide. The issue had to do with our membership agency tiers versus individual professional accounts. A huge number of members had to be added manually only to find out that there was another work around that we were not made aware of. It got taken care of but was certainly a headache and waste of staff time in the beginning.
"GrowthZone was a Game Changer for My Organization"
Overall: I went from using a very complex system that required a lot of customization on my part to GrowthZone that had everything built in. So complicated in fact that no other staff members knew how to do anything on the admin side. With GrowthZone, everyone on staff can be comfortable working in the program. Things are more seamless - easily seeing your members and their activities, groups, billings and registrations. Everything is all "under one roof" - membership, meeting registration, committees, document storage, forms and surveys, marketing automation plus other available modules that I am not using like certifications, fundraising and more. Switching to GrowthZone saved an incredible amount of time for my team and is super easy to learn - it's very intuitive. However, if you can't figure it out, the documentation and available training videos are abundant! Which was also completely lacking from my old system. I have recommended it to several association leaders.
Pros: There is so much functionality I didn't even realize I needed and now couldn't live without. It has quite truly saved my staff and me a lot of time.
Cons: There are still some glitches here and there, and some other features that I would like to see added since they seem (to me at least) to be basic and logical additions.

Overall: Overall, I find this is one of the best Association Management software suites that I have used and I have used quite a few! it feels like the developers understand the association world and have built the software with several of the exceptions that may come up in associations
Pros: Ease of use and navigation. Can pretty much figure things out on your own and if not, knowledge base is helpful.
Cons: If you do need to reach customer support, it sometimes take a bit for them to get back to you.

Overall: GrowthZone has allowed us to automate our billing and then exports all financial data to Quick Books. Provides a very nice member area with a user forum. Also does a great job with set up and execution of our events.
Pros: That it provides all the tools we need on a daily basis and yet it is very user friendly.
Cons: Honestly, do not have a bad thing to say at this point.
"Small Non Profit still searching for the right software..."
Overall: Every time I've called their customer service, I've been helped thru the problem that I'm trying to deal with, but sometimes I've been handed over thru several different people on just one phone call. It's very time consuming so mostly I don't bother calling with questions unless I'm desperate. The online video tutorials are not very helpful for specific questions or problems. It's buggy. I still don't totally understand why so many of our members have trouble accessing their member hub pages and aren't able to update outdated info on their own.
Pros: Helps us track our 3 levels of membership and collect dues. We've had some success enrolling members into workshops with the option to pay online.
Cons: Where to begin...Back end is not at all intuitive with lists and committees that need to be populated in a separate setup in order to be functional. We tried using their "event management" to sell and track ticket sales to a festival, which is our number one fundraiser for our non-profit of the year. It was near disastrous because GZ assumes your event is a business conference. We sold 2,000 tickets and had so many confused customers emailing us and calling asking whether or not they had actually purchased tickets. Many people said they never received any confirmation especially if they signed up on their phones. We will only use their event tool for in-house member workshops going forward and never again for a public event. We'll have to use Eventbrite or Brown Paper Tickets instead. The Member Hub is clunky and not one of our 70 + members actually uses it. There is no cloud storage included so the only items we can upload to the member hub to share with our members are text forms. It's OK for meeting minutes, but if we really want to share ideas and interactions between members, this is not the place to do it. The fees that GZ (or Stripe, which they partner with) takes out of online credit and debit payments are not clearly communicated. So for instance, the festival that we sold over 2,000 tickets for online...accounting for the money is a nightmare because there is no flat rate. The average rate was really high like over 5%!

"My Happy Experience"
Overall: My overall experience with this software has been better than I could have imagined. It is a continue learning process.
Pros: I've used ChamberMaster for years and the continue upgrades and how they listen to their customers is one reason I continue to recommend them to our Board and other Chambers. The Support team not only knows the software, they are patient and kind when I've called them. It is user friendly and I can edit, correct or change the website myself without having to call, email, or make a ticket for everything. When I do make a ticket or call, they are quick to reply and correct the issues.
Cons: I really cannot say I dislike anything. Just this last couple of weeks, I've learned something new. The event tab has been wonderful and I learned how to improve it but with that improvement I also learned that it changes other areas in the software that I was not aware of until I was using it. It worked out, it just made more steps to complete my task.
"Growthzone Management System Has It All!"
Overall: GrowthZone has enabled our organization to effectively manage our database, reporting, event registration, accounting and website. The system is extremely user-friendly for both management and users.
Pros: Switching from one system to another is never easy, but GrowthZone made it a smooth transition, from decision to launch! The entire process took us about 9 months to design and implement both a management system as well as website. All tools are easy to use and reporting is effortless! I appreciate that GZ takes user recommendations into consideration (voting process) and offer ongoing development! GZ customer support is fantastic!
Cons: GZ has great report templates, but sometimes I need to report on something not available. I wish we could create our own queries/reports without needing GZ to do this for us. I wish GrowthZone would integrate directly with QuickBooks. To continue utilizing this accounting software, it requires manually updating QB with deposit summaries vs. automatic batches.

Overall: Overall I like GrowthZone very much. It took me quite a while and a lot of frustration to figure it out and I'm still learning things, but it has greatly improved my billing and communication with members.

"Great Features and overall functionality"
Overall: Mostly pretty good. The conversion has settled down, and we are working through cleanup. We wish we had a basic manual from GrowthZone, not just a video how-to. A manual, perhaps in Word, where we can add in the details that are specific to us is vital. Without it, we are having to complete each part of a manual a little at a time.
Pros: The fully functioning connectivity for our members, record keeping for all members in one place, and the website's integration. Every day we discover a new feature we didn't know about that makes us happy. The most recent is the integration with ZOOM and events/classes.
Cons: The things that don't work for no apparent reason. We have clearly tied members to a firm, yet they don't show up in that firm's list. Programmers have had to fix some, but we never hear why it happens. Some of the accounting takes quite a bit to track down. The conversion process left a lot for us to do without clear direction. GrowthZone should take the lead all the way through instead of us getting basic instruction and then asking questions as we go.
"Great Management Software for Member-based Organizations"
Overall: Their online training sessions are very useful and the wiki has extensive, helpful information for when I want a quick answer without calling. Onboarding new employees has been super easy with the resources GrowthZone has provided.
Pros: Central location of data and links to financial transactions/recording. I like the interfacing with email like Constant Contact and Outlook, and I like user friendly platform elements for maintaining memberships and displaying them online.
Cons: The templates are very hard to use if you want to edit them, and there are a lot of features that are not customizable. I wish there were more integrations with Google and business websites not provided/hosted by GrowthZone.

Pros: The database is easy to navigate, member profiles are clear with the ability to add a lot of information, performing tasks within the database is easy. When we were in the set-up process, customizations were easily configured and GrowthZone / ChamberMaster customer assistance team were great to work with.
Cons: There are lots of reports to choose from, but reporting direct from a Member profile would be a great option.
