JBoss EAP Reviews
Pros
JBose is open source Jave based runtime platform. It is one of the best platform for building / developing customized robust solution for high performance and self service application.
This portal has a lot of new features that are so powerful and useful for business enhancements and reliable.
Another great thing about Jboss is you can easily find documentation and necessary support which is really helpful if you are stuck at some point. It is a great tool for large j2ee applications.
For developing large java enterprise applications, it gives lots of features. Deployment of applications really fast and for configuration wise it is super easy.
Cons
Lack of proper UI is also missing which is sometimes difficult to manage application for new bees.
Graphic User Interface is missing to manage the Services and administer.
UI is not that user friendly. It takes quite sometime for temenos developers to understand the portal and perform deployments of different war files.
It did not support any of the new HTML5 standards.
"Jboss in comparison with Oracle's Weblogic"
Overall: I think for any organization, two things matter the most. 1) Resource consumption for the test/uat environments running in datacenter. 2) Licensing cost for maintenance and extensibility of the product. 3) Convenient deployment mechanism for administrator. JBoss provides a great experience in above mentioned areas.
Pros: We as a financial institution have Temenos T24 Core Banking System implemented that runs over Oracle's WebLogic Manage servers, as far as the production environment is concerned. However, recently we shifted all our testing environments to Jboss, cutting down massive licensing cost of WebLogic. JBoss is a dream if its pricing is compared with other competitor application servers in the international market. It is very light weight and does not consumer much resources in comparison.
Cons: The only baggage it comes with is the lack of support if required during implementation, apart from whatever material is available on the world wide web. However, the immense learning behind its in-house implementation is also a blessing in disguise.
"JbossEAP_02-07-2022"
Overall: I develop java app and deploy on it.
Pros: It is very useful to deploy jakarta enterprise based services and applications.
Cons: Application servers area is out of date versus containerization tech.
"Jboss easy to use"
Overall: so far so good
Pros: The best thing about Jboss is easy to use compare to other app servers
Cons: configuration of additional WAR files is abit complex compare to weblogic
"JBOSS EAP a complete application server."
Overall: More than 5 years working as a middleware specialist, I have had to implement, manage this application server.
Pros: I liked its easy administration and application deployment.
Cons: In my experience, I don't see any downsides to this application server.
"Red Hat Jboss for the Core Banking Industry with respect to Performance/cost and Ease of Use."
Overall: I am using Jboss from last 5 years and i have very very good experience of Jboss. Being administrator i am using this for the Core Banking software where there are 5000 Users to use it. We have replaced Weblogic with Jboss. Just to decrease cost and boost performance. As i told you its very light not a resource hungry software.
Pros: 1. Its very very Cheap, In-fact its free ware where as we were using previously Weblogic and that is much more expensive and complex as well. 2. We also used Websphare and that is also complex as well as costly. 3. Its performance is too good. 4. Its not a hardware hungry software and its very light and less Resources. 5. I have executed COB on Jboss, Weblogic and Websphare. The Result of Jboss was too much excellent. with Same hardware Websphare took 5.5 Hours Weblogic took 6 hours and Jboss took only 4 hours.
Cons: Nothing is least. Its excellent and i have used this software both features i.e. as Standalone as well as Cluster based with Active MQ. Further if you need any help just google it and you will get its fix.
