Customer Service Nightmare

The software enables us to organize public printing and time on computers in the library.

Likely
Pros: LPT One works with our other management software without any problems. The software is very easy to set up and use. The features enable us to have patrons sign in on the public computers and is linked with our patron system to check for fines and expired cards.
Cons: Initial linking between my ILS and this software was a little complicated and time consuming, but customer service was very helpful.
Overall: The ability to choose which job to print and how long patrons stay on their computers so others can take their turn.
Interface Needs Update

Likely Extremely
Likely
Pros: I like the simple layout and easy to operate controls.
Cons: The UI desperately needs an update as it looks stuck in the early to mid 2000s
Overall: I use LPT at my current job and it works great and gets the job done. I wouldn't change software. The columns could use different colors to make reading information from a bunch of prints jobs easier.
Poor Customer Support and couldn't get it to work in a large library system
Pros: OK user interface
Cons: MS Access Database, no cross site support, too many servers to manage, limited support for printers, poor customer support.
Overall: We gave up trying to maintain 15 locations all with their own server. It may be ok for a small single site library, but not a library system. We ultimately went with SAM from Comprise Technologies and are very happy with their support, onsite services, easy of use and setup.
Recommendations to other buyers: Everything is A La Carte, be sure to consider, how many staff pc's you have, print stations, printers, reporting modules included in the product and how difficult it is to manage a complete system.
Pros: Program functions as advertised once installed.
Cons: Install difficult, changes and additions require difficult install. Charge for support in addition to annual maintenance contract.
Overall: We have been a client for many years. Apparently they no longer value quality customer service. I am never asked what I think of the customer service I am provided. I gave them a month notice of a planned migration. Was provided inadequate instructions. Waited on hold for hours to be told I needed to pay for support although we have an annual maintenance contract. Contracted that additional support and am waiting days for delivery of the paid support. Can't even get it scheduled. No complaints with the software, customer service was good in the past.
