Assists with proper ICD-10 coding and use of modifiers. Additional modules for Pathology, Practice Management/Billing, Telemedicine, and MIPS reporting are available as integrated features. A proactive and responsive company that takes provider issues and input seriously. Cons The system is designed around an optimal workflow. As with any EMR, office workflows will need to be updated in order to align with the system's capabilities. Pros We first puchased only the EHR portion of ModMed and was very pleased, but, as soon as they come out with the Practice Management system, it has made our entire practice so much more efficient and eliminated so many tasks that were being transferred from person to person and place to place. We have been very pleased with the entire system in general. It is very user friendly and promotes accuracy and accountability for everyone in the practice. Cons In the beginning, the transition was quite the curve ball, but, we have definitely surpassed that. My biggest con is the reporting system I find difficult to navigate at times and as a person in the billing department, we do not like the transaction you have to use for a returned payment. That is pretty much it. Staff MD Medical Practice Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Modmed - Worst EMR" October 1, 2025 1.0 WORST EMR that I have ever used: compared to EPIC, Eye MD and All Scripts. 1) Too, Too many clicks and page changes to complete notes 2) Under codes diagnosis. 3) must manually edit billing codes since Modmed under-codes Pros comprehensive pre-written discussions about diagnosis. Workflow tab is helpful to view clinic flow. Code tab to review charts is helpful, unless you want to review more than 1 day. The lack of customizable features in the EHR system could stand some enhancement. The customer service is fast and efficient and you speak with real people. The billing processes are intuitive and straightforward. Note taking is simplified and allows me to add and subtract to the note as needed without having to jump through a dozens of hoops or steps. Pros Stream-lined, efficient and time-saving all in one EMR. I am able to go from check in to note to billing and more easily, making the entire “paperwork” part of being a doctor less time consuming, more accurate and easily managed. Cons There’s not much I don’t like about ModMed except that I cannot start a visit note on the ModMed app on my phone. Pros That it's easy to use and user friendly! Cons \- Not able to send all forms to the Kiosk such as the MIPS form. (Many patients complain that there is so much to do. Would help if this could be accessed on pt portal or if we could do away in general with the MIPS due to the same questions being asked 3 different times). - Sign button on the kiosk forms could be pre-lit. - Review of symptoms not on patient portal - Would be neat if picture of meds could be taken and automatically. I have been waiting for a reply to get an issue resolved for several weeks and have had no resolution and no response after several emails if they were able to resolve my issue. Also would like to be able to recall more than the last 10 charts when pulling down the dropdown. I really don't have anything else to compare it to since I am new to the medical field. Pros When it tells you what is missing or invalid when scheduling appointments. The ease of changing an apppintment day/time; seeing the doctor's schedule and the color coding of the various types of appointments. Cons I wish I knew more about all it can do, I feel that it could help to streamline the scheduling if I knew all that ModMed can do. I never got "official" training. I feel there is so much information that we can learn and have already learned. Very thorough and detailed without having to change screens a lot and without having to make multiple clicks. Pros Very easy to navigate. User friendly. Follow up tabs provide easy documentation, previous findings are great as well for follow patients. Cons As far as body map, the pretibial area is so large and hard to document multiple biopsy sites in this area and have them documented with different names for clarification on path.
