Used the software for: ### "" January 8, 2013 5.0 We were one of the first customers with EMA by Modernizing Medicine and have been using it for almost two years. We had a previous EMR system that we never could use in a meaningful way but EMA is so intuitive that even our new MA's pick it up very quickly. We would never go back to our paper templates and charts of the past! Every upgrade they have implemented has improved their product and their customer support has been very good. When I first started work at this doctor's office, it was initially difficult to learn everything, but EMA was super simple, and I picked it up very quickly. Cons The ICD-9 codes are no longer next to the diagnoses in the patient overview. It was there before the update but has since gone away. It made my job much easier the way it was before. It has made charting a whole lot easier" June 26, 2014 4.5 Pros I like that it is very user-friendly, and it makes charting so much easier. I also like that we did not have to make many changes to the templates because the system is dermatology-oriented. It's funny to think that we were doing paper charts just a few years ago. The transition last September was smooth and the system just made perfect sense. It is constantly updating to serve our needs. The newest update is amazing. EMA has made a big difference when insurance companies requests records. The documentation is there! EMA also fits excellently with our Vitera practice management sytem. We highly recommend EMA! The only issue that I've had so far is that a recent update 3.10 on my iPad has made important medical information that I entered under the Skin Disease History "other" section unavailable. I have reported this to the company but have only been told that it is being "looked into". I am very concerned that this information from the old paper charts has been lost. Review Source DG Dana G. Used the software for: ### "" April 11, 2013 5.0 My name is Dr. Dana Goldberg, and I have a solo cosmetic surgery practice in Jupiter Florida. We are a very young office, and we have used technology to catapult us beyond other surgeons in the area. The EMA system saves me from several hours of notes per week, and allows me to make sure that I am coding as effectively as possible for my procedures. Our RN's and Doctor were so used to paper charts, we didn't think we could manage only electronic medical records. We have been using EMA since June of 2012. The Doctor loves EMA because it is specifically for dermatologist's. It was slow going the first couple of months, but we had (and still do have) excellent customer support. Used the software for: ### "" July 1, 2013 5.0 We are a busy dermatolgy office with one provider. We went from not being able to complete charting on paper charts daily to having all charts complete and finalized at noon - then again at the end of the day. No need to take work home anymore. The transition was a little rough in the begining only because we had to change our systems and the flow. After a little time and disicipline the office overall was in a better place. The dermatology specific product was easy to adapt to our work style and how we cared for patients. While it's clearly a steep learning curve, we felt well supported along the way and never had a problem reaching support in a timely fashion or getting our issues resolved quickly and professionally. If it would remember your preferences (without you having to click through so many other options), it would be nice. We would highly recommend this EHR software. Dr Reed has been in practice for almost 30 years. The changes over the years have been a lot for medical documentation. Well designed making normal daily functions a stress reliever. Its ability to produce a note that i want is unmatched. I had two programs before EMA and it would take 10 minutes to improve or repair a note. Billing is more accurate and efficient, our days in AR have gone down and income is up. The support team are accessible and have dermatology office experience. I can tell that EMA was designed by dermatologists, for dermatologists. It is assuring that they are listening to the users and are always proactive in making improvements to the software and user interface. We are definitely glad that we went with EMA for our EHR. Cons I don't like that I'm unable to customize different procedures (e.g., IPL/PDT/Blu-U). I also don't like the options for laser hair removal. We are able to use EMA in all of the areas of the practice except primary care. It would have been great to not have separate EHR systems for the entire practice.
