They've produced an excellent DAM system at an affordable price, and have excellent customer service -- which is rarely required. I would highly recommend considering the service to prospective customers. Pros MediaValet has provided a reliable, user friendly Digital Asset Management (DAM) solution for our brand to manage and share our image assets both with internal staff and outside partners. Cons It might be nice to have the option to create short links to shared assets and catalogs. The system creates long URLs that feel a bit bulky when sending via email message to media partners. Pros Easy to set up, very intuitive. Easy to train users. Easy to setup administrative policies for vendors and internal users, so that only the pertinent assets are available to the individuals. Cons The programming doesn't like hyphens in part numbers. Our company utilizes hyphens in the part number, and when searching, the returns do not always show all of the assets. I think it could use a refreshed user interface that is more user friendly for non-technical users. Pros The thing that attracted me to MediaValet was the file structure interface for categorizing files. Very similar to a computer file structure which added some familurarity. Cons Some features like sharing with lightboxes and galleries can get a little confusing as well as making files available to non users. That UI is so common on computers that it would lend to some familiarity to non-technical users. Switched from [Widen DAM for Akeneo PIM Connector](https://www.capterra.com/p/266893/Widen-DAM-for-Akeneo-PIM/) Widen did not have a clean way of organizing content in a way that made sense. The use of the platform for sales and marketing efforts could be improved. Pros So many things to like: Solid, reliable storage, methods of tagging and categorizing, ease of searching and filtering for assets, versioning, approvals, reports, etc. The entire process is very easy yet very thorough. Cons I think the interface is a bit stiff. Some of MediaValet's competitors have a more inviting user experience. We've also had some people on our team have a difficult time searching for assets. And, streaming playback has frequently been an issue. One of the reasons we chose MediaValet was because of the CDN capabilities that would allow us to create Client Portals that can be used during our sales presentations as well as by clients on their own. When playback stalls or doesn't begin at all, this is a big hinderance to doing business for us. It has been great to have all our materials in one place that is off our organization servers. Pros The ease of access for all users, internal and external to our organization. The multiple options for accessing and sharing files help us customize the experience for each client and project. I appreciate that the MediaValet team is always innovating new features to support the product and end users. Cons I wish the search features were more advanced and customizable. Ideally, it would be great to be able to search for assets using images. The categories are great if you have the knowledge of when or for what the asset was created. I'd like to see more attention paid to the work flow. Pros The file tree on the left side and the unlimited users. Cons The root folder in the file tree should show if there are folders under it rather than showing that it is empty. This consistently confuses people. It should be easier to upload a new version of an asset without the check-out / check-in process. The PDF view seems to have a lower resolution. I would like to be able to download a list of all the assets to a CSV file that I can manage the attributes for and reupload to update the database. Pros Everything is easy to find and searchable. Downloads are easy, web portals are fairly easy to work with. Cons It is a little difficult to rename a file. However, it initially required intensive training to be able to use the application effectively. Additionally, it includes descriptions that help explain the uploaded images or documents, enabling the team to better understand the conditions in the field without needing to be physically present. Cons I’m still learning about MediaValet, but it would be great if there was a more streamlined way to quickly upload, tag, and categorize new files, as the existing process can be lengthy when needing to add many types of new content all at once. I think more education for the people adding the materials could be beneficial, but that is not the fault of the product. Pros I love the concept of MediaValet. Having all of our approved and correctly-branded materials in one place makes it so much easier for users of the materials to know where to find marketing materials and know we are using the most up-to-date items. Cons I think it's a mix of how our company is using the metadata (not as well as we could) and the search function of MediaValet. May 4, 2018 5.0 The biggest benefit is overall increased productivity in multiple ways. It makes several tasks easier, and it's changing the way our teams store and manage content. For many older users, this is their first foray into the cloud! The intuitive layout is great. Pros This personally has really changed the way I organize things, and I can already tell it's beginning to make some light bulbs flash for a few coworkers too. We've rolled this out to a team of 150+ who have never had access to something like this before. All feedback has been positive. Lots of potential moving forward. Cons Cloud software is maybe more prone to issues and downtime then most of the fully offline Apple, Adobe and MS platform applications I use regularly. It's the first company in which I work that makes use of MediaValet. It saves my life even at home when I need any assets quickly. Pros The facility to organize, fetch, access, download and share media files. This saves a lot of time (and free space on the computer!) Cons Sometimes the download can be very slow, even if the navigation is running smoothly. Plus, it's not so intuitive to anyone who's getting started.
