This program offers so many assets, making it a huge value, cost-wise. Pros Customer support has been beyond my expectations. Other than needing to create some of my own unique intake forms, there is already so much available on the portal itself that is formatted better than I could have written myself. Super satisfied. This doesn't create a professional looking intake note like the other system I used. No ability to write a formal short note about a phone session, or missed sessions when you void the invoice you can't document it. Can't send attachments in an email via this site that I don't want to make available to all clients. The billing feature pages are very confusing and can be very overwhelming. The measures offered are limited and personally I don't want to have to input them and/or recreate them and it doesn't allow me to send specific measures to individual clients. It's like a one size fits all with this product. Office Ally is now charging providers to submit some claims versus other clearinghouses that do not. As a private practice therapist, I spend most of my day meeting with clients and documenting my work in CounSol. I experience CounSol as a reliable co-worker who is really efficient at her job! When my friends set-up their private practice, I recommend CounSol and they often haven't heard of it because they don't advertise as much as some of the others but, with its exceptional customer service and good functionality, it is a gem and well worth it. Pros When I chose CounsSol almost 10 years ago, I reviewed all the competing options very carefully. In the end, I chose CounSol for their impressive customer support. Other platforms expect you to do-it-yourself in terms of creating the forms you want in your EHR. CounSol staff will take a form you already like, in what ever state it is already in, and make it accessible for your clients in your EHR. Also, with other platforms, when you have a problem, you submit it to a help line. At CounSol, you are assigned one customer service representative who is available to you. My person hasn't changed in all the time I have been with the company, and when he went on maternity leave, I was assigned a different support person. He always answers my questions in a timely way! Cons The platform for video sessions does not allow people to log in from two separate locations. I understand the company is working on fixing that. Some of the other platforms are somewhat less expensive but I am not sure it is worth the trade off because what you save in a few dollars less, you will spend in your time trying to customize your platform and fix your problems in ways that CounSol staff will help you with. This has been helpful b/c following up with questions/comments is done with ease; there is no familiarizing someone "new" to the case/issue. The portal is easy to use and directions are concise and direct with screenshots that provide visual aide to those who need it (me!). I have recommended CounSol to others and have shared that it one of the most professional, clear and helpful EHR's I have used (I have been in the field since 2008). Pros Having a consistent customer service representative who becomes familiar with your business needs and assists with troubleshooting when issues arise. August 7, 2024 5.0 With CounSol.com I have been able to maintain a completely paper-free practice for the past 5 years. There has not yet been a circumstance which I have been unable to manage easily within this EHR, including the occasional complicated insurance situation. I trialed and reviewed MANY EHR's before I chose CounSol.com. I have not regretted this choice for a second. Pros The ease of on-boarding new patients with all the necessary forms and disclosures, including several customized assessments and forms which I rely on. Even my elderly patients have no issues accessing the portal and completing the necessary intake forms. I also really appreciate the simplicity of submitting insurance claims and the seamless accounting for payments received. Amazing customer service- inquiries are responded to by a real person super quickly. Most questions have been able to be answered by a quick email, but the customer service is also extremely accessible by phone. Cons The interface is slightly less "slick" thank competitors- but it is also very easy to read and navigate. Cons As a first-time solo practitioner and user of my own EHR, I had no understanding of the payment processing feature. This was the most frustrating aspect because I inadvertently filled something out wrong and got stuck in a reoccurring attestation loop with Cardpointe every 3 MONTHS. Some practical guidance from the assigned representative upon signing up with CounSol would have been greatly appreciated. Some of this is my responsibility for not having sought guidance and found out by chance with a troubleshooting call to Cardpointe that I did not need to do the attestation every 3 months, but rather, annually. It's a powerful tool that allows nearly everything I need to run my practice. Pros Billing is really easy. I have a contact person who can answer questions. There's a great deal of flexibility for entering forms. Cons Some of the things are not very intuitive. Most of the time I try to figure out how to do something via help I wind up asking my contact what to do. Usually there's a solution, but sometimes the site doesn't allow what I want to do. I'm a boomer so I have never figured out how to have clients do their own paperwork through it. Pros I love the "Swiss army knife" approach of being able to do everything in one place. Cons Billing insurance through CounSol is clunky. I have to bill Medicare through a billing service because CounSol just didn't work. Many insurances issue one-use credit cards to pay bills and CounSol will not recognize those as insurance payments. I can trust it's as secure it can be. It's easy to use for myself, my interns, and my clients. Pros I'm a virtual therapist. I have to use all the integrated features. It seems they've thought of everything, from scheduling, meeting in a secure chat room, billing, and note keeping. My clients feel secure meeting with me in this program. They can easily pay for their sessions, keep a secure journal, access worksheets I upliad for them and send me encrypted messages if they choose. Cons I wish I could command a sync of the calendar to my external Google calendar. I have to wait for that to happen and sometimes I need it sooner. Pros Counsol makes a lot of things quite easy. There are ways to customize just about everything and there are a lot of things that are already in there for you, like forms and templates. Their customer support has been very responsive and my experiences with getting the help I need have been extremely positive. Cons Sometimes it is quite confusing (particularly at first). And sometimes one cannot understand certain features, particularly around insurance billing.
