It seems they've thought of everything, from scheduling, meeting in a secure chat room, billing, and note keeping. My clients feel secure meeting with me in this program. They can easily pay for their sessions, keep a secure journal, access worksheets I upliad for them and send me encrypted messages if they choose. Cons I wish I could command a sync of the calendar to my external Google calendar. I have to wait for that to happen and sometimes I need it sooner. Pros Counsol makes a lot of things quite easy. There are ways to customize just about everything and there are a lot of things that are already in there for you, like forms and templates. Their customer support has been very responsive and my experiences with getting the help I need have been extremely positive. Cons Sometimes it is quite confusing (particularly at first). And sometimes one cannot understand certain features, particularly around insurance billing. Our account manager has been with us every step of the way since we started our company. His support provides a peace of mind in knowing CounSol is dependable, reliable, and worth every penny. Pros CounSol is cheaper than Simple Practice. Having an account manager is so helpful! Whenever we have a question or need to upload a new file, we send it to him, and he gets it done within hours. What I love the most is the ability to customize forms, assessments, and files. The organization ability within CounSol also makes it easy to find files and forms. Also, the client portal through CounSol is also easy to navigate and helpful for client's to retrieve forms and documents. Cons I don't have many cons—it's hard to think of them. But one that pops up is offering more formatting options depending on the form being completed. Another is offering the ability to rearrange folders more simply, rather than having to move them up or down one at a time. It provides texts, emails and alerts for scheduling which is invaluable to keeping appointments full and it provides professional looking invoices for clients to use for out of pocket reimbursement. I also like that client credit cards are stored in the system for ease of payment. Cons As I am using this to manage my entire practice, I think it would be beneficial to have a more robust reporting options with regard to the financial features. It would be nice to be able to print out sales by month, quarter or year. If there is this mechanism in place already, I have not found it. It would also be helpful to have a smart feature when typing notes into the system that autocorrects. It is frustrating to be typing a word in and the system does not recognize it to give suggestions for the correct way to spell the word. When client's credit card expires, it is a pain that a new card has to be keyed into the system, that a simple expiration change can not be done instead, as most keep the same credit card number. I also appreciate that they are always looking for user feedback to improve their service, and they are responsive to our recommendations. In addition, they share new features with us in their newsletter so that we are never lost. Overall, all other features are excellent, from the biopsychosocial both the short and long-form, treatment planner, and the new integrative feature of therascribe, that is a real plus. Lastly, creating a bill or invoice is also pretty easy. I deeply appreciate all of the hard work that goes on in continously improving this service, and the support they provide. I highly recommend Counsol.com. Cons The scheduling of appointments can be a little user-friendly, but then I learned the trick. I think having little videos on different features may help the user. The visual interface can be upgraded more modernized. I would not publicize this, but Therapynotes has a beautiful interface and a very easy-to-use scheduling system, but I prefer the flexibility of features provided by Counsol.com. Such an amazing software, but the telemental health feature needed updating. I stopped using it in favor of Doxyme and Zoom. The interface, visually it was not modern enough, a little boring. https://www.therapynotes.com/ but they have a beautiful interface, very modern, clean, and appealing. I like that they have a to do list 2. The scheduling software is still a problem, too many steps to create a schedule and it is so frustrating. I still don't get it. TherapyNotes allowed me to create an appointment immediately. 3. Therapy notes also kept track of my to-dos for every client. 4. Therapy notes had lots of features that I really appreciated, yet I liked to create my own notes and none of the other software allows us to do this and if they did, which they promised they would, they wanted to charge for the feature. Pros I am able to take homework assignments and create forms for the clients to fill out right on the portal and not have to print out or download unless they want to. Billing is simple and easy. Clients can schedule their own appointments on thru the portal. The video sessions have been free of glitches most of the time and considering myself and most of my clients are in very rural areas that has been good. Intakes, treatment agreements, consent, privacy policies, etc able to be filled out and signed on client portal. client's report paying through client portal is easy and they are able to do it the day of their appointment before session. One price for unlimited reminders, active clients, claims, etc. Cons I do wish there was an app for myself and the clients but I am hopeful that will happen in the future. It always performs perfectly, was customizable to perfectly match my needs without compromise. My clients have no problems accessing their portal, sending secure messages, using the secure journaling feature, and making payments. Using Counsol lets me focus on caring for my clients and not wrestling with a software application! Pros My favorite feature of Counsol.com is the attentive, knowledgeable, available and helpful customer service with this product. I'm fortunate enough to have an assigned Support Manager who makes it his priority for me to be productive with this software. This is in stark contrast to other software vendors that send you to FAQs, ChatBots, or Knowledge Bases directories to hunt down your answers. My favorite technical feature is the availability of FORMS for use with my clients. No other software has the depth/breadth and ease of use for form creation and use. Cons The interface and client experience with the portal is dated with its look and functionality. The online session functionality is not supported for clinicians that are not located in the United States. Reason for choosing CounSol.com I selected Counsol after an exhaustive evaluation of two other platforms. Counsol won hands down in the areas of customization, ease of use, flexibility, use of forms and technical support. I was fortunate to find it near it's conception and I have not been even tempted to leave it. The scheduling, billing and treatment planning are critical to my practice and while I use another software for insurance billing everything else I do for the organization of my practice is on CounsSol.com. Couldn't professionally live without it! I use it practically everyday. Pros For my practice the scheduling, bill paying and treatment planning are the most important divisions of the software. I am a sole proprietor and the more organization in the platform the better it work for both my clients and myself. I cannot say enough about the Customer Service Division and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] who has worked with me since the beginning. I am a middle age counselor and when I have questions he is there in no time online to help! Cons It took me a while to figure out the ability to keep the billing separate between the Total and Client responsibility headings. I could have used more direction. I love that after a session, the credit card gets billed automatically, the invoice gets automatically noted as paid and if you chose, sent out. (All of that is optional too but included in the monthly price which is worth every penny, in my opinion.). I also use them for notes and forms clients sign right on the platform (both which you can customize, and for an additional fee Wiley planners are available), email (confidential), sending of claims with the click of ONE button (you have them filled out as you want via a template when you set up the client and can change this of course). Their customer service is GREAT and they help you along with questions-most often the DAY you call/email. You are assigned one person too, which I like. There are so many other great features- clients have a confidential journal they can, if they choose, share with you, folders for handouts you may want to put in the system for them to access, online scheduling if you choose, w email/text reminders as an option, -- it goes on and on. Owner/Director Mental Health Care Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Excellent Customer Service but Things Need to be Improved" November 9, 2020 4.0 I am staying because it is very difficult to leave and learn a new system. Over the past 5 years, I have tried 4 and this one had the least awful things about it. However, there are several key things that really need to be improved in the accounting system that are not getting addressed and I have brought them up multiple times. There is no good reason for invoices to have different balances depending on which screen you are looking at. I have used them exclusively for 2 years and I have yet to get all of my client accounts to balance out. This is frustrating. I also keep a separate spreadsheet because I do not find the system to be 100% reliable. Pros Scheduling works well. Most of my clients are technologically savvy and can schedule themselves. I also appreciate that I have a very knowledgeable, helpful, accessible, dedicated account manager. The help is not delivered through a bot or to a team where you receive minimal assistance, like some of the top rated software companies provide. Cons The accounting portion of this software is very difficult to use. There are hidden payments and transactions that you have to go hunting for and sometimes, invoice amounts can appear different on different screens. I cannot begin to count the number of hours I have labored over the accounts, trying to get them to balance. I believe this happened because I had an assistant logging in from another state and this caused problems, using different servers. I had it synced with Google Calendar and I would have sessions show in Google Calendar that didn't show in Theranest. They insisted this wasn't possible, but it was definitely happening. It really gives you a very easy way to house and manage everything for your practice including intake forms, uploaded patient documents, notes, etc. I also like the user-friendliness of the platform. I have a virtual admin and they say that it's one of the easiest EHR's to use right away. Cons The thing that I like least is just that it takes some time to customize things. It's not a horribly negative thing, but there is a bit of a curve to making the custom forms I needed. Once I did, it was not an issue. And my assigned IT person made it really easy to resolve any issues. He been helpful and very accessible. I have already told my peers about it. FIRST, it puts a much more professional touch to services from the very beginning! They can fill out the specific forms that you require, such as consent and Hippa forms, client data, they can fill out own biopsychosocial, so it has already saved me time, it is much easier as some clients have illegible writing. It is much better for me, because my writing isn't the best and it looks so much more professional. The notes are secure but client can access their records through their own secure portal, which is in keeping with many other medical offices. TX plans are easier as the standard measurable goals and interventions are included and can be individualized. The Ind progress notes are very easy and cover what most insurances would need to know, plus they are always a good reminder to cover all the basics each visit. So, it ok me a bit longer and I had more anxiety as I am " old school" but the support staff was great and it is well worth the money for time saved and professionalism. If people are already tech savvy then it's a walk in the park and a no-brainer to use! Lastly I picked this software because even though there was other software application available for therapists, most did not have a HIPPA compliant for Telemental Health. It gives me 9eace of mind that I can prove I am doing everything I can to keep all communications confidential, and the client feels better with it as well. Great product great service! Pros The support staff has been extremely friendly and helpful, as well as patient! I am not a very tech-savvy person at all but knew I wanted to go digital with records. I also recently got certified for Telemental health and needed a HIPPA secure platform, so I set it up. They promised me excellent customer service and said I could call as many times as needed to get training, and he would book a full hour session with me! I needed several sessions and that's only because as said I am not tech savvy, but NOW that has gotten the swing of things it has already made my office management, documentation a lot easier! Cons Actually I don't like the "WHODAS" lable I understand is called that as far as measuring disability, but sounds weird to clients, and some tend to skip it though it's very simple. I would reword it to " Disability Screening Tool" and then in parentheses, write out the official name if screening as it is a widely used and recognized tool, but hard for clients to unduid they are seeing me for depression why am I asking them to fill out a questionnaire about how long they can stand or sit, then they skip the whole thing even though there is relevant content on emotional well being. Each client gets a personal account manager that is literally at your service with one phone call, that actually goes to a REAL phone with a REAL person. My account manager, \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\], has created documents for me, has walked me through many of the processes of insurance submission, ERA reconciliation, and so much more. Cons I feel that the client portal is lacking in visual appeal and user friendliness. I often have clients who log into their portal, but then cannot "find" the things they are needing to complete or where to pay their invoices. I also feel the program is a bit pricey, as many features are an "add on" and you have to pay "per user". When you have multiple users and expect to add more to your practice, this can get quite expensive pretty quickly.
